US to Join G-7 in Ban of New Russian Gold Imports to Hit Putin

US President Joe Biden and fellow Group of Seven leaders will agree to announce a ban on new gold imports from Russia, a person familiar with the plan says, the latest sanctions imposed after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The leaders will announce the joint pledge at their summit in Germany, which runs Sunday through Tuesday, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity ahead of an announcement. The US Treasury Department will issue a ban on Tuesday, prohibiting US imports.

Uzbekistan’s state-owned Muruntau mine, one of the world’s deepest open-pit operations, produced just under 3 million ounces, making it the second-largest gold mine. Muruntau represents over 80% of Uzbekistan’s overall gold production. Only two other mines—Grasberg and Olimpiada—produced more than 1 million ounces of gold in 2021. Grasberg is not only the third-largest gold mine but also one of the largest copper mines in the world. Olimpiada, owned by Russian gold mining giant Polyus, holds around 26 million ounces of gold reserves. Polyus was also recently crowned the biggest miner in terms of gold reserves globally, holding over 104 million ounces of proven and probable gold between all deposits. The price of gold is up by around 50% since 2016, and it’s hovering near the all-time high of $2,000/oz.

That’s good news for gold miners, who achieved record-high profit margins in 2020. For every ounce of gold produced in 2020, gold miners pocketed $828 on average, significantly higher than the previous high of $666/oz set in 2011.

With inflation rates hitting decade-highs in several countries, gold mining could be a sector to watch, especially given gold’s status as a traditional inflation hedge.

Some of this is out of date (#98-0001 has been seen again late last and earlier this year-currently used again as primary AF2-and just used yesterday by kneepads chicago trip) but the fact still remains that 92-9000 747 has been MIA since Nov 30, 2020 and last seen arriving at Lackland AFB, San Antonio-that cap is here as #2 and is timestamped in the name-this is the last visible trace of this AC.

IMF Slashes US Growth Forecast But Claims Recession Will Be 'Narrowly Avoided'

The IMF was one of the first establishment institutions to admit that inflation was a legitimate threat to the US economy last year, however, they were very late to the game compared to economists in the alternative media. In March of 2021 IMF analysts were still arguing that inflation would be “transitory” despite the enormous $6 trillion covid stimulus in 2020 which was injected by the Federal Reserve directly into US retail markets through covid checks and PPP loans (helicopter money). Nearly all of the IMF's predictions on inflation turned out to be wrong. This fact should be taken into consideration as the IMF now claims that US Growth will cool but recession will be 'narrowly avoided' while stating that the economy is 'in recovery.' The IMF does not really explain its logic on this prediction, but that's usually how they operate. Whenever they are wrong, they don't admit it and they move on to the next wrong prediction. Either that, or they know that circumstances are about to get worse and they don't want the public to have the opportunity to prepare.

The IMF is predicting positive growth in US GDP this year even though GDP entered a decline in the first quarter of 2022 before the Federal Reserve began raising interest rates. Prices also continue to rise in most necessities despite indications that the Fed plans to continue rate hikes through the year. In the meantime, the jobs market is edging towards renewed losses as covid money and credit dry up. In other words, the classic conditions for a stagflation crisis are in place.

This means that even with recession pressures on the horizon price inflation remains a problem, which suggests that the Fed will have to continue raising interest rates in order to combat it. Further recessionary consequences are baked into the cake on top of rising prices.

It should be noted that the IMF among many other globalist institutions and major banks warned only a month ago that a 'dire' global food shortage was on the way this year, and that a storm was on the horizon. Yet, as soon as the Fed raised interest rate by a mere 75bps the establishment shifted to a different narrative, asserting suddenly that deflationary conditions will “balance out” price spikes.

The IMF seems to be painting a future economy in which the rest of the world is in crisis, but the US will be just fine. And, like we saw with their inflation predictions, this fanciful notion should be taken with a grain of salt.

Russia "on brink"-too funny-of default as debt deadline looms

Russia is on the brink of its first debt default since 1998 as the Sunday deadline to make a $100m interest payment seems certain to be missed. Russia has the money and is willing to pay, but sanctions make it impossible to get the payments to international creditors.

The Kremlin has been determined to avoid a first default since 1998, and a major blow to the nation's prestige.

The Russian finance minister branded the situation "a farce".

Russia has seemed on an inevitable path to default since sanctions were first imposed by the US and EU following the invasion of Ukraine.These restricted the country's access to the international banking networks which would process payments from Russia to investors around the world.

The Russian government has said it wants to make all of its payments on time, and so far it has succeeded.About $40bn of Russia's debts are denominated in dollars or euros, with around half held outside the country. A default would be the first since 1998, at the chaotic end of Boris Yeltsin's regime-(mebby they should get Bill Browder on the sunday talk shows to explain that set-up..NO?...kek) The $100m interest payment was due on 27 May. Russia says the money was sent to Euroclear, a bank which would then distribute the payment to investors.

But that payment has been stuck there, according to Bloomberg News, and creditors have not received it. "They have not got it," says Jay Auslander, a US lawyer who has worked on many government debt cases.(and you know this..you've actually seen the AR side...GTFO) "And the overwhelming probability is they're not going to get it."If this money has not arrived within 30 days of the due date, that is, Sunday evening, that will widely be considered a default.

Euroclear wouldn't say if the payment had been blocked, but said it adheres to all sanctions. Default seemed inevitable when the US Treasury decided not to renew the special exemption in sanctions rules allowing investors to receive interest payments from Russia, which expired on 25 May.

The Kremlin now appears to have accepted this inevitability too, decreeing on 23 June stating that all future debt payments would be made in roubles through a Russian bank, the National Settlements Depository, even when contracts state they should be in dollars or other international currencies.

Finance Minister Anton Siluanov admitted foreign investors would "not be able to receive" the payments according to the RIA Novosti news agency.

This was for two reasons, he said. "The first is that foreign infrastructure - correspondent banks, settlement and clearing systems, depositories - ares prohibited from conducting any operations related to Russia. The second is that foreign investors are expressly prohibited from receiving payments from us."

Because Russia wants to pay and has plenty of money to do it, he denied that this amounts to a genuine default, which usually occur when governments refuse to pay, or their economies are so weak that they cannot find the money.

"Everyone in the know understands that this is not a default at all," RIA Novosti quoted him. "This whole situation looks like a farce." (and he likely totally right-they gonna pull the 'fat finger' on this one) The credit ratings agencies, which assess the creditworthiness of borrowers, would normally play the role of officially declaring a default, but they are banned from covering Russia by EU sanctions.

And the Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee, which determines whether payments have been missed and investors can claim on insurance-like contracts called Credit Default Swaps Jamie at the Morgue licking his chops-cause that what this is really about, has already ruled that Russia failed to pay, after it didn't pay around $2m interest due on a late payment in May.Yet these same agencies have said wut about Evergrande? Alternatively, the creditors themselves could declare a default, and request that Russia pays the entire value of the debts back right away. Other creditors to Russia could also claim immediate repayments on their debts, under so-called cross-default provisions, Mr Auslander says. If Russia fails to pay, they could go to court to try to get their money.

Though default would be a symbolic blow, it would have few immediate practical consequences for Russia. Defaulting nations usually find it impossible to borrow any more money, but Russia is already effectively barred from borrowing in Western markets by sanctions. In any case, it is reportedly earning around a billion dollars a day from fossil fuel exports, and Siluanov said in April the country has no plans to borrow more.

As already mentioned: flight plans visible-cap #2- now is YUGE-also makes muh job much easier too as the guess work with the patterns-when an unfamiliar AC used is taken out of the equation-at least for this trip.

They've used this AC several times so this one not hard at all-it's when they used new ones in the past that took much guess work-but I think I've managed to get each one he has used except the very first trip to the Border just after the Potato took over-and since I missed it (and everyone else did too) they used it for the next trip since no one caught it.

They added probably about an extra 30-40 minutes by not flying over "bad" Russian Airspace on this particular route.

That they have flown over China on the last few Int'l trips as well when they were going the long way-over northern Russian airspace has not gone unnoticed here.
