A nuclear-capable B-52 bomber is roaming the skies over Britain after emitting an emergency squawk.
The US Air Force jet, coded SPICY22, took off from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire earlier today before it began to circle in a constant loop after issuing an emergency Squawk 7700 code - thought to be because one of the bomber's engines has failed.
The jet is currently covering a path which takes in the northern end of Gloucester, Churchdown, Bishop's Cleeve, Newent, Tewkesbury and Cheltenham. It is understood that it is in a loop so that it can burn off fuel before it can land again, according to local reports.
B-52 bombers were deployed to Fairford this year in response to Putin's barbaric invasion of Ukraine.
They have regularly been used in training and reconnaissance missions over Europe alongside other NATO powers
Having returned to the US, the bombers made their way back to Fairford in August and remain based there.
Residents on the ground in Gloucester have described the 'very loud' rumble of the bomber as it flies over the city.
MailOnline has contacted the Ministry of Defence for further information.
Brand new F35s and U2 spy planes were also spotted arriving at the airfield earlier this year.
The latter can cruise at 70,000ft and are used for intelligence gathering. The former are based over at Lakenheath.

Anti-diarrhea medication may help treat core autism symptoms
Can you teach an old drug new tricks? Although drug treatments for the core symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are not currently available, could an existing drug provide a new treatment, even if it previously had no association with ASD? This was the question asked by a new study in the journal Frontiers in Pharmacology. The researchers used a computer model that encompasses proteins involved in ASD and the way they interact.
By looking at how different drugs affected proteins in the system, they identified potential candidates to treat it. A commonly used antidiarrheal drug called loperamide was the most promising candidate, and the researchers have an interesting hypothesis about how it may work to treat ASD symptoms. Some of the most common symptoms in ASD involve difficulties with social interaction and communication.
"There are no medications currently approved for the treatment of social communication deficits, the main symptom in ASD," said Dr. Elise Koch of the University of Oslo, lead author on the study. "However, most adults and about half of children and adolescents with ASD are treated with antipsychotic drugs, which have serious side effects or lack efficacy in ASD."
Repurposing drugs as new treatments
In an effort to find a new way to treat ASD, the researchers turned to drug repurposing, which involves exploring existing drugs as potential treatments for a different condition. The approach has plenty of benefits, as there is often extensive knowledge about existing drugs in terms of their safety, side-effects and the biological molecules that they interact with in the body.
To identify new treatments for ASD, the researchers used a computer-based protein interaction network. Such networks encompass proteins and the complex interactions between them. It is important to account for this complexity when studying biological systems, as affecting one protein can often have knock-on effects elsewhere.
The researchers constructed a protein interaction network that included proteins associated with ASD. By investigating existing drugs and their interaction with proteins in the network, the team identified several candidates that counteract biological process underlying ASD.
The most promising drug is called loperamide, which is commonly used for diarrhea. While it might seem strange that an anti-diarrheal drug could treat core ASD symptoms, the researchers have developed a hypothesis about how it may work.
From an upset gastrointestinal system to ASD
Loperamide binds to and activates a protein called the μ-opioid receptor, which is normally affected by opioid drugs, such as morphine. Along with the effects that you would normally expect from an opioid drug, such as pain relief, the μ-opioid receptor also affects social behavior.
In previous studies, genetically engineered mice that lack the μ-opioid receptor demonstrated social deficits similar to those seen in ASD. Interestingly, drugs that activate the μ-opioid receptor helped to restore social behaviors.
These results in mice highlight the tantalizing possibility that loperamide, or other drugs that target the μ-opioid receptor, may represent a new way to treat the social symptoms present in ASD, but further work is required to test this hypothesis. In any case, the current study demonstrates the power of assuming that old drugs may indeed learn new tricks.

This is the moment the King blasts a leaking pen that threatens to ruin his mood just hours after the new monarch was warmly embraced by the people of Belfast.
King Charles, sitting inside the royal residence of Hillsborough Castle, Northern Ireland, appeared flustered by dripping ink as he tried signing a book towards the end of his visit.
Charles complained about the pen he was using to sign his name, announcing he 'can't bear this bloody thing' as he appeared to furiously rub the ink from his fingers.
The Queen Consort later suggested it was leaking and asked for a replacement, as the King briskly turned on his heels and left the room flanked by aides.
The faulty instrument was swiftly removed and replaced by flustered courtiers before Camilla sat down to sign the book herself from inside the historic residence.
It comes days after viewers of Charles' historic accession to the throne found themselves distracted when the new monarch suddenly gestured furiously to one of his aides to remove a pot of ink.
The clip AT Hillsborough Castle begins with Charles asking what the date was, as he prepares to sign a visitors book in front of cameras.
Venting his frustration as the pen begins to malfunction, the new King exclaims: 'God I hate this [pen]' as he hands it over to the Queen Consort.
He adds: 'I can't bear this thing... every stinking time'.
The new monarch was visiting Northern Ireland on the latest leg of his royal tour of the United Kingdom in the wake of the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Charles enjoyed an emotional first trip to Northern Ireland as the new monarch after he and the Queen Consort inspected a remarkable show of flowers and were met with roars of approval as the people of Belfast today greeted their new sovereign with open arms.

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy is tearing into President Joe Biden and Congressional Democrats on Tuesday for their 'radical and reckless spending sprees' which he says are to blame for August's steep 8.3 percent inflation spike.
The minority leader told DailyMail.com that his party has a plan to cut 'wasteful spending' should they win the House of Representatives in November - a likely outcome, according to multiple projections.
Inflation had been steadily rising throughout most of the year until hitting a 40-year high of 9.1 percent in June. It dropped off slightly to 8.5 percent in July, chiefly driven down by gas prices easing after a sharp spike over the summer. But August's 8.3 percent increase in consumer prices shows inflation is still running hot, while wages are failing to keep pace with rising costs.
'The cost of living is up 8.3 percent over last year, rose further this month despite Democrats' victory lap in July, and is up nearly 13 percent since January 2021. McCarthy told DailyMail.com. 'Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress are to blame, and they have no plan to fix it.'
He specifically targeted Biden's COVID-19 pandemic package known as the American Rescue Plan, which multiple economists have pointed to as helping drive inflation up.
'Real wages have fallen every month since Biden’s $1.9 trillion stimulus spending spree passed. Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress are to blame, and they have no plan to fix it,' McCarthy said.

DOJ Raid of Jeffrey’s Clark Home Linked to Investigation Into Conspiracy, Obstruction: Filing
The search warrant executed at the home of a former top Department of Justice (DOJ) official in June was part of an investigation into violations of three federal laws, including on prohibiting obstruction of justice, according to a newly disclosed filing.
Jeffrey Clark, an assistant attorney general during the Trump administration, told the District of Columbia Bar that federal agents with the DOJ inspector general’s office raided his home in Washington on June 20 “in connection with an investigation into violations” of laws prohibiting making false statements to the government, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice.
The bar disclosed the statement in a report, dated Sept. 12 and originally filed under seal, on charges it has leveled against Clark.
The DOJ inspector general’s office did not immediately respond.
Clark declined to comment. He previously told NTD that he had not seen the affidavit upon which the search was based.
“The new era of criminalizing politics is worsening in the U.S.,” Russ Vought, the president of the Center for Renewing America, where Clark is a fellow, told The Epoch Times in an email. “This raid, which was just the beginning of their attempt to wipe out political opposition, entailed more than a dozen DOJ law enforcement officials searching Jeff Clark’s house in a pre-dawn raid, putting him in the streets in his pajamas, and taking his electronic devices.”
“All because Jeff saw fit to want to investigate voter fraud. This is not America, folks. The weaponization of government must end. Let me be very clear. We stand by Jeff and so must all patriots in this country,” Vought added.
According to emails disclosed previously, President Donald Trump pressured top DOJ officials to investigate 2020 election fraud allegations. Clark, the assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s Environment and Natural Resources Division and acting assistant attorney general for the agency’s Civil Division, was involved in looking into the allegations.
Bar officials say he violated the District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct by engaging in dishonest conduct when he helped draft a letter to Georgia’s governor and lawmakers in the state recommending they call a special session and send an alternate slate of electors to Washington after the 2020 presidential election. They also charge that he tried to interfere with the administration of justice.
Clark argued the case should be deferred but officials said in the new filing that he has not met the standard, which is a pending related ongoing investigation or litigation.
Several probes apply, including the investigation that brought agents to his home, Clark said. But Merril Hirsh, chair of the D.C. Court of Appeals Board on Professional Responsibility, the disciplinary panel for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, recommended Clark’s request be denied because Clark has not been charged.

Brian Auten, a supervisory intelligence analyst within the bureau, was referred to the Office of Professional Responsibility following Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s December 2019 report on the Trump-Russia investigation and its use of FISA surveillance against Trump campaign associate Carter Page. Shortly after the referral, Auten was involved with the bureau’s inquiry into the son of now-President Joe Biden, with his Aug. 2020 analysis being used in part to justify the decision to "shut down investigative activity."

A senior FBI official who investigated Donald Trump's alleged links to Russia is now under the microscope for his own Moscow ties, a bombshell new report revealed on Thursday.
Charles McGonigal is the former counterintelligence chief at the FBI's New York City field office.
He has not been charged with any crimes, Insider reports.
But if McGonigal's work with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska proves to have violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act, he could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine at most.
Deripaska, a close ally of Vladimir Putin's, was also a close contact of Trump 2016 campaign chair Paul Manafort and is thought to have played a leading role in the Kremlin's efforts to interfere in that presidential race.
He and business tied to him were sanctioned by the Treasury Department for 'malign activity' and 'attempting to subvert western democracies, and malicious cyber-activities.'
McGonigal's links to Deripaska are reportedly at the heart of a grand jury subpoena that was issued in secret in November 2021.
It's not clear if the investigation is still ongoing.
But the explosive Thursday report suggests McGonigal has had multiple contacts with an aide to Deripaska, including a referral to a law firm that ended up being a lucrative deal for a former Soviet official.

My Son Hunter actor Laurence Fox has sounded off against Silicon Valley’s deliberate suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal in the final months of the 2020 presidential race, saying their acts of censorship qualify “essentially as election rigging.
In a recent interview on The Spectator’s “Marshall Matters” podcast, Laurence Fox condemned big tech’s power to sway elections.
“So it’s pretty terrifying, isn’t it, that big tech have this power. And, bearing in mind, that there was four years from 2016 of the Democrats saying Trump had only gotten in on Russian collusion… whatever your views are on Trump, it was pretty underhanded play,” he said.
“So then to find out that big tech had then censored this — like Twitter stopped showing the New York Post story and [Mark] Zuckerberg de-boosting it — that is essentially, I’m not sure what the word you could use for it other than election rigging.”

During Ted Kaczynski’s sophomore year at Harvard in 1959, he was recruited for a psychological experiment that would last three years.
The experiment Ted Kaczynski participated in at Harvard involved psychological torment and humiliation.
For 18 years, using homemade explosive devices, Ted Kaczynski terrorized those he saw as agents of antihuman technology before his 1996 arrest.

Kaczynski believes that the Industrial Revolution was the font of human enslavement. “The system does not and cannot exist to satisfy human needs,” he wrote. “Instead, it is human behavior that has to be modified to fit the needs of the system.” The only way out is to destroy the fruits of industrialization, to promote the return of “WILD nature,” in spite of the potentially negative consequences of doing so, he wrote.
After Harvard, Kaczynski earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Michigan, then taught briefly at the University of California, Berkeley, after which he dropped out of society. For 18 years, using homemade explosive devices, he terrorized those he viewed as agents of antihuman technology, especially anyone associated with universities or airlines. GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – The dozens of fulfillment centers Amazon is closing, canceling or delaying means a proposed Greensboro facility may never come to fruition.
CNBC reported that there would be 44 canceled or closed facilities and 25 delayed sites, based on a post by logistics consultant MVPVL International. That report said that delivery stations are the most common type of facility being closed.”
Amazon said Thursday that plans for a Greensboro fulfillment center were never finalized.
Seattle-based Amazon doubled the size of its operations during the pandemic, adding more warehouses and workers to keep up with demand from homebound consumers who felt more comfortable buying things online. But as the worst of the pandemic eased, it found itself with too much warehouse space and too many workers. In May, it announced it planned to sublease some of its warehouse space.
In November, the Greensboro City Council approved the annexing and rezoning of 109 acres from residential property to light industrial for Amazon to open a distribution center.
Documents on file with the city planning department said a facility as large as 634,812 square feet could be built, and a representative for the developer told the City Council that “the tenant is committed to being a long-term asset in the community.”
The facility apparently would have employed about 1,000.
Nexstar’s WGHP reached out to Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan and City Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba seeking comment on this development and was still awaiting a response at publishing time.
Thursday’s announcement might not be unpopular with residents near the site, some of whom have expressed displeasure with the rezoning to accommodate the facility.

A federal court dismissed charges against a retired rear admiral arrested in 2017 for his alleged role in the “Fat Leonard” corruption scandal, according to a Thursday filing.
Retired Rear Adm. Bruce Loveless was charged with conspiracy, bribery and conspiracy to commit honest service fraud, according to the initial indictment against him and other Navy officials. In the indictment, the federal attorneys alleged the officers received meals, luxury hotel suites and prostitutes from Leonard Francis, the former president of Singapore-based Glenn Defense Marine Asia. Francis, who has been convicted, is currently on the run.
Loveless, represented by law firm Paul Hastings LLP, had a 15-week trial that ended in a hung jury, according to a July release from his attorneys. Nearly two months later, Judge Janis Sammartino, who has overseen the Fat Leonard cases, approved the U.S. attorney’s office motion to dismiss all charges against Loveless. Sammartino had previously denied a motion for a mistrial in the case.
“We are pleased that the charges against Rear Admiral Loveless have now been dismissed following the jury mistrial in June, and the multi-year nightmare for our client is finally over,” Paul Hastings attorney Tom O’Brien said in a statement. “This is absolutely the correct result based on the complete lack of evidence of criminal wrongdoing presented during the four month long trial.”
In his argument during the Loveless trial, O’Brien said that out of the millions of documents reviewed for the case, Loveless only appeared in six emails — mostly thank you notes, reported The San Diego Union-Tribune. While Loveless went to a Francis-funded dinner, O’Brien argued that was not enough to prove bribery or conspiracy.
Loveless was arrested in 2017 along with four other former 7th Fleet officers. The other four – Capts. David Newland, James Dolan and David Lausman and former Cmdr. Mario Herrera – were convicted by a jury in late June. They are due to be sentenced in October.
Of the 34 Navy officials arrested in the Fat Leonard scandal, 29 have pleaded guilty, USNI News previously reported.

From an old Chill thread, Fiona Hill apparently had (maybe still has) clearance for Top Secret, NOFORN intel, which is the heaviest of heavy duty shit.
