Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, has admitted that they give “gender affirming” hysterectomies to children under 16 years old.

After exposing this program taking place at Boston Children’s Hospital, the creator of the popular Libs of TikTok Twitter account came under severe fire from the left — who mostly opted to lie and say that it wasn’t actually happening.

They did this, despite the hospital having a video where they explained the procedure, clearly aimed at the parents of transgender minors.

“A gender-affirming hysterectomy is very similar to most hysterectomies that occur,” Dr. Frances Grimstad, an obstetrician-gynecologist, cheerfully stated. “A hysterectomy itself is the removal of the uterus, the cervix, which is the opening of the uterus, and the fallopian tubes, which are attached to the sides of the uterus.”

Hysterectomies are irreversible and sterilize the patient.

This set Chaya Raichik on a mission to find out how often this is really taking place, and where.

“Gender-affirming hysterectomies” was listed on the Children’s National Hospital website as a procedure they offer to children, but it was removed on the day that Raichik took the screenshot. Luckily, she archived it here.

“I thought perhaps this was just poor wording,” Raichik wrote on her Substack. “Maybe they actually refuse to perform hysterectomies on minors under the age of 18, but failed to make that clear on this page. So I decided to call and find out. What Children’s National told me shocked me to my core. In the above audio recording, Children’s National confirmed that they do, in fact, perform gender-affirming hysterectomies on 16-year-olds and ‘much younger’ children.”

In the audio released by Raichik on Thursday, she is heard calling the DC children’s hospital while pretending to be the mother of a 16-year-old that is transitioning to male and wants the procedure.

She is repeatedly told that not only will they perform the procedure on a 16-year-old, they also said that they have performed them on children who are “much younger.”

Democrat DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is denying unvaccinated students an education.

Unvaccinated students will not be allowed in school and there will not be an option for virtual learning.

Over 40% of blacks ages 12 to 17 are not vaccinated for Covid, the Daily Signal reported.

A reporter for The Daily Signal asked Bowser if unvaccinated students would have to learn remotely, she replied, “We’re not offering remote learning for children, and families will need to comply with what is necessary to come to school.”

Students will have 20 days to prove they are up-to-date on their Covid vaccination or they will be removed from school.

The District of Columbia does not appear to have a contingency plan for unvaccinated students, who are banned from attending schools in person this fall after the first twenty days, according to comments made by Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser Thursday.

During a press conference, Bowser, a Democrat, admitted there are no alternative options, including virtual learning, for students who cannot attend school due to the District’s vaccine mandate, meaning unvaccinated children will effectively be left without an education.

Over 40% of blacks ages 12-17 are not vaccinated, according to city data.

The Daily Signal asked Bowser what the plan was for unvaccinated students. Washington, D.C. public schools start Monday.

Bowser responded “They can go to school on Monday. But they need to get their vaccinations… and their families will be alerted as to the dates.”

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education for D.C. announced that “all students must have up-to-date immunization certification on file with the school within the first 20 school days or they will not be allowed to attend school or school activities until the immunization certification is secured by the school.”

The Office continued that “if the student does not come into compliance within a 20-school day period, the school must remove the student from school until the immunization certification is secured by the school.”

(Washington, DC, June 27, 2022) – The American Humanist Association (AHA) decries the 6-3 decision in Kennedy v. Bremerton School District, handed down by the Supreme Court of the United States today, in favor of Coach Joseph Kennedy, a high school football coach who had a regular practice of conducting post-game prayers surrounded by public school students at the 50-yard line. Bremerton School District viewed this practice as exercising undue influence over the student players to participate in Christian prayer, in a practice sometimes known as “pray to play”, thereby undermining the students’ religious freedom.

The Court has ruled that the Bremerton School District wrongfully fired Kennedy because both the free exercise and free speech clauses protect his right to pray following high school football games. The Court also abandoned the Lemon Test, long used to determine whether a government action violates First Amendment protections regarding religion.

In her dissenting opinion on the case, Justice Sonia Sotomayor states, “The Court now charts a different path, yet again paying almost exclusive attention to the Free Exercise Clause’s protection for individual religious exercise while giving short shrift to the Establishment Clause’s prohibition on state establishment of religion.” She continues, “This decision does a disservice to schools and the young citizens they serve, as well as to our Nation’s longstanding commitment to the separation of church and state.”

The AHA considers the integrity of scientific knowledge, where information is assigned a degree of certainty according to the weight of the evidence, to be essential to a humanist society.

Humanists insist that scientific studies, peer-reviewed and reproduced in accordance with the highest standards, be the basis for public policy and education. Religious or sectarian doctrine is irrelevant and immaterial to discerning best practices.

The AHA argues against the revival of creationism through “intelligent design” theories, as well as other inappropriate religious teachings in public schools and policymaking. The AHA fights for embryonic stem cell research and against the ban on federal funding for it, which is based on the assumption that the small cluster of cells has the potential to be a person. Abstinence-only sex education in schools has been consistently unsuccessful in reducing unwanted pregnancy and the spread of sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, whereas teaching responsible sex practices, such as condom use, have resulted in an evidence-based reduction of teenage pregnancy and STDs. The AHA supports environmentally friendly policy that recognizes humanity’s proven role in climate change. We oppose pseudoscience equally, whether it is religiously-motivated or from a secular source. But superstition and unwavering belief in the unverifiable should never be an excuse for promoting broad religious beliefs in the public sphere in a pluralistic and secular society.

Singaporean humanists welcome decision to repeal colonial-era law that criminalizes sex between men

During his speech on Sunday, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced that the country intends to repeal the colonial-era Section 377A of Singapore’s Penal Code.

Section 377A of Singapore’s Penal Code was enacted by the British colonial government in 1938, when Singapore was still a British colony. It punishes same-sex activity between men with up to two years in prison, even if it is consensual, between adults, and takes place in private.

“I believe (repeal) is the right thing to do, and something that most Singaporeans will now accept. This will bring the law into line with current social mores, and I hope, provide some relief to gay Singaporeans,” said the Prime Minister. At the same time, the Prime Minister stated that he remains of the belief that “marriage should be between a man and a woman…and that the traditional family should form the basic building block of society.” He added that he intends to “protect the definition of marriage from being challenged constitutionally in the courts”, but did not elaborate further on how this would be done.

Mexican cartels and smugglers who funnel migrants and drugs over the border and into Yuma, Arizona, have begun moving outside of town to areas without a barrier following Gov. Doug Ducey's installation of a shipping container wall this month, according to Arizona officials.

“We are definitely seeing a reduction in the areas where the wall has been closed up,” Jonathan Lines, Yuma County supervisor, wrote in a message Thursday to the Washington Examiner. “One of the enclosures just down from the dam is where the five-year-old drowned in July. It is having the impact that we desired."

"While I was there yesterday there were only two people who tried to cross in that area and then they realized there was no access," Lines continued. "Border Patrol is now able to place human resources in the areas that do not have a wall and focus on trafficking there — 100% a win-win.”

To improve border security, Ducey had ordered construction workers to stack massive shipping containers in five gaps between Trump-era border wall projects. Work was completed Tuesday.

Drastic Increase In Non-Infectious Diseases In Military Explained As Data Glitch: Whistleblower

A medical Army officer who discovered a sudden increase in disease coinciding with reports of side effects alongside COVID-19 vaccines—which the Army has dismissed as a data glitch—said he faces involuntary separation after being convicted but not punished for disobeying COVID-19 protocol.

In January 2022, First Lt. Mark Bashaw, a preventive medicine officer at the Army, started noticing some “alarming signals” within the defense epidemiological database.

The Defense Medical Epidemiology Database (DMED), which tracks disease and injuries of 1.3 million active component service members, showed during the pandemic a significant increase in reports of cancers, myocarditis, and pericarditis; as well as some other diseases like male infertility, tumors, a lung disease caused by blood clots, and HIV, Bashaw said.

All these illnesses are listed in FDA documentation as potential adverse reactions associated with COVID-19 vaccines, Bashaw told EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program in an interview on Aug. 1.

Seeing increases in cases of these illnesses as high as 50 percent or 100 percent in some situations, Bashaw stepped forward as a whistleblower to raise concerns about his findings.

Bashaw’s whistleblower declaration, submitted to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) who is facilitating the sharing of information from early investigations of COVID-19 products with Congress, said he saw the increasing incidence of these disorders observed in DMED as “very troubling.”

Specifically, the number of cancer cases among active service members in 2021 nearly tripled in comparison with the average number of cancer instances per year from 2016 to 2020, Bashaw said in his declaration.

Bashaw’s responsibilities as a preventive medicine officer, with a specialty in entomology, include “participating in fact-finding inquiries and investigations to determine potential public health risk to DoD [Department of Defense] personnel from diseases caused by insects and other non-battle related injuries.”

On Thursday California air regulators voted to ban new gas-powered car sales by 2035.

100% of all cars sold in California by 2035 must be ‘free of fossil fuel emissions.’

“The climate crisis is solvable if we focus on the big, bold steps necessary to stem the tide of carbon pollution,” California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom said in a statement.

Because everyone has $70,000 to spend on a new car and $20,000 for a car battery replacement.

“This is monumental,” California Air Resources Board member Daniel Sperling told CNN. “This is the most important thing that CARB has done in the last 30 years. It’s important not just for California, but it’s important for the country and the world.”

It is unclear how California drivers will be able to charge millions of electric vehicles in a state plagued by rolling blackouts.

Biden last year announced a new order to have 40% to 50% of US auto sales electric by 2030.

Since the overwhelming majority of Americans prefer gas-powered cars to electric vehicles, Joe Biden and the Marxists in California will just force the EVs on the population.

One in five electric vehicle owners in California switched back to gas-powered because of the inconvenience of charging.

Charging electric vehicles is a total “hassle” say 20% of EV owners surveyed between 2012 and 2018 so they’re going back to gas, researchers found.

NBC Journalist Who Attacked Libs Of TikTok Once Took Credit For Deplatforming Pedophile Sting Groups

An NBC journalist who criticized the Twitter account Libs of TikTok for reporting on transgender surgery for minors at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) also authored an article in 2019 where she appears to take credit for Facebook removing the accounts of privately-run pedophile sting groups.

The efforts of Brandy Zadrozny, one of NBC’s “disinformation” reporters, in both cases follow a nearly identical pattern. First, identify a perceived right wing element online that is highlighting or covering a contentious, questionable or perhaps even criminal issue. Then, cast the subjects of the coverage as victims of “harassment.” Source the public outrage, or “harassment campaign,” to the coverage itself, rather than the contentious, questionable or criminal behavior of the subject. Contact massive tech corporations and alert them that these groups are operating on their platforms.

Zadrozny reported that Libs of TikTok and journalist Christopher Rufo, who tweeted out videos the Boston Children’s Hospital produced and posted publicly promoting puberty blockers for children, were directing “waves of harassment to the hospitals’ larger accounts.” The hospital offers surgeries to artificially construct a penis out of a girl’s vagina, breast removal, and “facial harmonization” to “eligible” patients which include “adolescents and young adults,” according to the hospital’s website. A review of publicly available documents by the Daily Caller News Foundation found that doctors at the medical facility performed at least 65 mastectomies on biological females under between the ages of 15 and 18. Since the blow back, Boston Children’s Hospital has amended its policy for vaginoplasties from 17 to 18 years old.

Boston Children’s Hospital did not respond to a request for comment.

The result of Zadrozny’s reporting speaks for itself: Libs of TikTok’s reporting came Monday, Zadrozny’s on NBC News Tuesday, and Facebook locked Libs of TikTok’s page Wednesday. The usual suspects took a victory lap over the news. Zadrozny’s colleague at NBC’s disinfo desk, Ben Collins, said Facebook “nuked” the account, characterizing the negative coverage as a “campaign” against BCH. Alejandra Caraballo, a transgender lawyer who specializes lately in online censorship and works at Harvard’s aptly named “Cyber Law Center,” explicitly encouraged Twitter to do the same. And an influential trans activist Erin Reid, digital director at Democrat fundraiser Act Blue, blared, “TWITTER MUST FOLLOW, or it will be complicit in what is to come.”

Michael Morris, Managing Editor of Free Speech America and Business at The Media Research Center, says it’s becoming more common for the far left to call speech they disagree with “violent” in an effort to silence opposition.

“If you disagree with the leftist narrative, the left and the big media left is going to come out and try to silence your opinion, or at the very least to try to change the narrative to match what they want,” Morris told the Daily Caller.

The harassment campaign against Twitter has so far not worked, and Facebook has since restored Libs of TikTok’s account.

The case of POPSquad in 2019 fits an identical playbook.

In January of that year, Zadrozny reported that anti-pedophile sting groups were making alleged pedophiles the victims of “shaming” and “cyberbullying.” Zadrozny’s article profiles 20-year-old Alain Malcolm, an alleged pedophile, who was going to a rendezvous with a 14-year-old boy he had met online for sex. After the anti-pedophile group Prey on Predators (POPSquad) confronted him, promising to expose his behavior to the public, Malcolm went home and committed suicide.

POPSquad appeared to be unaffected.”

While not explicitly calling for a ban in public, Zadrozny’s reporting in this case follows the overall pattern of NBC’s “disinfo” desk: Frame Facebook as essential to the group’s potency, then claim the group is causing real world harm, and repeat the claim several times until the platform capitulates.

Democrat Dan Kildee, Family Took over $100K in Special Interest-Funded Vacations

Rep. Dan Kildee (D-MI) has taken over $100,000 in special interest-funded vacations since his time in office, often bringing his family with him.

According to LegiStorm, Kildee has taken nine privately funded trips worth a total of $101,388.

Destinations have included Denmark, India, Sudan, Lebanon, and three trips to Israel, where he often stays in luxury hotels.

Kildee did not respond to a request for comment from Breitbart News.

Beirut, Republic of Lebanon

In November 2021, the American Task Force on Lebanon (ATFL) financed Kildee’s five-day trip to Beirut, Lebanon — the “Paris of the Middle-East” — to the tune of $11,225.37.

AFTL is a 501(c)(3) aimed at “enhancing the bilateral relations between the United States and Lebanon” that works to “expand the awareness of the economic, social, and political conditions in both countries and to enhance our relationship through a better understanding each country’s interests and expectations.”

While there, Kildee and his son stayed in Hotel Albergo, a five-star luxury accommodation.

In the summer of 2019, Kildee and his son took a vacation to Copenhagen, Denmark, valued at $12,035.

The trip was funded by the Franklin Center for Global Policy Exchange and the Ripon Society.

The Franklin Center is a 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to “foster greater international awareness and cooperation through multinational policy forums, conferences, and other programs designed to explore important worldwide issues from a wide range of perspectives.”

Interestingly, the Ripon Society is a GOP-affiliated organization aimed at promoting “the ideas and principles that have made America great and contributed to the GOP’s success.” according to their website.

“These ideas include keeping our nation secure, keeping taxes low and having a federal government that is smaller, smarter and more accountable to the people,” it says.

While there, the Kildees stayed in another five-star hotel: the Radisson Collection Royal.

Khartoum, Republic of Sudan

In the spring of 2018, Kildee took his daughter on a special interest-funded trip to Khartoum, Sudan, valued at $13,787.83.

Humpty Dumpty Institute and the American Global Institute funded the trip.

The Humpty Dumpty Institute is another globalist-oriented organization that appears to push United Nations narratives.

The Kildees stayed in the five-star Corinthia Hotel Khartoum and flew Turkish Airlines’ business class accommodations in which the seats have built-in massage chairs.

New Delhi and Hyderabad, Republic of India

In February, 2017, Kildee and his son took a $15,053 trip to India paid for by the Aspen Institute, Inc.

The Aspen Institute is an organization “committed to realizing a free, just, and equitable society.”

The trip was also funded in part by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Henry Luce Foundation, the Democracy Fund, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and the MacArthur Foundation.

The Kildees once again stayed in five-star accommodations, at the Imperial Hotel in New Dehli, which, according to Luxury Travel Magazine is the “most luxurious hotel in New Delhi.”

Court Rejects Democrat Official’s Attempt to Keep 26K Dead People on Michigan Voter Rolls

The U.S. Western District Court of Michigan denied a plea by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (D) that sought to halt a lawsuit alleging she kept nearly 26,000 dead registrants on the state’s voter rolls.

In November 2021, as Breitbart News reported, the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) filed suit against Benson accusing her of keeping nearly 26,000 dead registrants on Michigan voter rolls and thus violating the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA).

Benson, in response, sought to have the lawsuit thrown out. On Thursday, the district court denied Benson’s effort to dismiss the case.

“It is astonishing that Secretary Benson is so vigorously opposing effective list maintenance,” PILF President J. Christian Adams said in a statement.

“It’s remarkable that after sharing this data with the Secretary of State in 2020, dead registrants remained on the state’s voter rolls,” he continued. “This initial win is the first step to ensuring that deceased registrants are not receiving ballots and reducing the opportunity for fraud in Michigan’s elections.”

PILF’s lawsuit alleges that 25,975 dead registrants remain on Michigan’s voter rolls, including:

23,663 registrants who have been dead for five years or more

17,479 registrants who have been dead for at least a decade

3,956 registrants who have been dead for at least 20 years

Last year, PILF successfully got Pennsylvania’s Democrat state officials to remove thousands of dead registrants from its voter rolls following an initial lawsuit. In that case, officials were accused of keeping at least 21,000 dead registrants on voter rolls for the 2020 presidential election.

Kari Lake, the Republican nominee for governor in Arizona, is reminding voters about her opponent Katie Hobbs’ multimillion-dollar judgment for discriminating against one of Hobbs’ former black employees.

During a recent appearance on One America News, Lake brought up the multimillion-dollar racial discrimination verdict against Hobbs while discussing the fact that Hobbs has refused to debate her. Lake said:

Katie Hobbs is MIA. It’s just crazy. You should have to debate your opponent right? But she refuses to debate me. I guess I can’t blame her. She doesn’t have anything to run on. She knows that I’m going to hold her accountable for her horrific record,”“This woman is a monster. She has been twice convicted of being a racist. Two separate juries convicted Hobbs of racial discrimination costing the voters close to $3 million.

Lake’s comments were about a 2021 jury verdict that awarded nearly $3 million to one of Hobbs’ former staffers who alleged race and sex discrimination. The $2.75 million verdict was Arizona’s second largest civil verdict last year, Arizona Attorney Magazine reported.

Back in 2015, Talonya Adams, who worked for then-Arizona Senate minority leader Hobbs, discovered her white and male colleagues were being paid more than she. After this discovery, Adams asked to be paid as much as her fellow staffers.

Adams took an already approved family leave shortly after asking for a raise, but she would not return to her position as an Arizona Senate policy adviser. Adams was informed that the Senate would terminate her employment while she was on leave.

As a result of her termination, Adams sued Hobbs and the Arizona Senate, alleging she was fired in retaliation for highlighting her discriminatory pay. After Adams’ lawsuit, two separate federal juries ruled in her favor and awarded her $2.75 million in damages.

The first jury determined Hobbs underpaid Adams because she was a black woman. Additionally, A second jury found Adams’ termination to be retaliatory and awarded her $750,000 in mental, physical, and emotional damages and another $2 million in damages for her retaliation claim.

Despite the multimillion-dollar jury award, Arizona taxpayers were limited to paying Adams $300,000, pursuant to jury award caps in federal law.

Adams’ lawsuit against Hobbs, who is currently Arizona’s Secretary of State, was brought to the spotlight during Hobbs’ Democrat gubernatorial primary campaign. Hobbs released a three-minute video in December apologizing for her discrimination and her “short sighted, unnecessarily defensive,” reaction to the $2.75 million jury award.

Hobbs also pledged to create positions within each government agency “dedicated to collaborating with communities of color and marginalized communities” if she became Arizona’s governor.

However, Hobbs’ apology was insufficient for the black woman who was a victim of Hobbs’ discrimination. Adams blasted Hobbs for issuing a “response to a political crisis,” rather than an actual apology.

“Her response is a response to a political crisis,” Adams said at a press conference one day after Hobbs’ apology. “Her statement is not an apology, it’s designed to allow her to get over a political hurdle.”

“As a single mom of two children, I know the effects the loss of a job has on families,” Adams said while fighting back the tears.

Adams also called on Hobbs to resign from her post as Secretary of State and drop out of the gubernatorial race.

Democrat Rep. Matt Cartwright (PA) appears to be involved in an ethics scandal after he was seen in a commercial praising his top donor’s law firm after he was filmed talking about his newly passed bill about water contamination at Camp Lejeune, according to Axios.

As members of Congress are forbidden to use official taxpayer-funded resources to promote themselves in a commercial or for campaign purposes, Cartwright was seen in the video clip praising the multi-million dollar law firm Parker Waichman and a partner, Jerry Parker, for their representation of U.S. servicemen and family members affected by water contamination at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Axios explained.

Interestingly enough, Parker and his wife have donated the maximum legal amount to the congressman’s congressional campaign, where he’s facing a fierce Republican challenger, Jim Bognet.

The congressman authored the Camp Lejeune Justice Act, which was signed into law last month. The law now allows servicemen and family members affected by the contamination to sue the federal government for any damages caused.

In a lengthy video clip posted on the law firm’s website, Cartwright said, “Folks like Jerry Parker and Parker Waichman, they’re at the point now where they really have to roll up their sleeves and take these cases in front of the court and win them.”

In fact, part of the video clip ran in television ads from Parker Waichman this month to help the law firm seek additional plaintiffs in its work with the Camp Lejeune litigation.

“I’m Congressman Matt Cartwright…Jerry Parker introduced me to this whole problem. I owe Jerry Parker a great debt of gratitude,” Cartwright said in the television commercial. Additionally, the congressman posted pictures on his Instagram page that indicated that the ad was filmed in his official taxpayer-funded congressional office, Axios noted.

Shortly after the television ad began running, Cartwright’s congressional office sent Parker a cease-and-desist letter on August 9, demanding the firm stop using the clips of him in their advertising and promotional material for the firm. The congressman wrote in the letter:

No permission to use my name or likeness in advertisements soliciting clients for your legal practice was ever granted to you by me or my representatives. I hereby demand that you cease and desist from using my name or likeness in any client solicitation of any kind.

Axios reported that Parker responded to Cartwright with an apology, calling the firm’s move to make the television commercial an “overreach” and said he is “genuinely sorry for any trouble this has caused” him.

The letter from Parter noted that the firm’s “marketing team posted the video to our website and used an excerpt in a television commercial” and confirmed that the congressman “never authorized” the use of his comments.

Cartwright’s spokesperson told Axios that the video was filmed as part of an event following the passage of the congressman’s bill, which Parker also mentioned. Cartwright’s spokesperson added:

[B]ecause there is often video shot at celebratory events, the Congressman did not object to the visit being videoed, but certainly never authorized the recording to be used for commercial purposes. If we had known the video was intended for commercial purposes, we would not have allowed it.

Regardless of what the congressman’s office and his donor stated, the ethics rules for lawmakers are strict about using taxpayer-funded resources for commercial ventures. In fact, the House Ethics Manual mentions that communications, whether they be private, political, or commercial use, should not be used to indicate an official sponsorship or endorsement.

“The prohibition against use of House resources to support unofficial undertakings clearly applies to support of business endeavors,” the House Ethics Manual stated.

In fact, the Functional Government Initiative, an “organization dedicated to improving the American public’s awareness about the officials, decisions, and priorities of their government,” said on social media Thursday night that they intend to file an ethics complaint against the congressman.

“Using your official office to film a commercial for a top donor’s law firm is not a ‘misunderstanding.’ It’s unethical. FGI intends to file an ethics complaint against @RepCartwright,” the group wrote...kek

Poll: Michigan Republican John James Has 9-Point Lead over Democrat Carl Marlinga

Republican John James showed a nine-point lead over Democrat Carl Marlinga in an independent general election poll for Michigan’s Tenth Congressional District.

The independent poll commissioned by MIRS News showed that James had a nine-point lead over his Democrat opponent, 47 percent to 38 percent. The independent poll showing James significantly leading Marlinga is a bad sign for Democrats.

The polling memo indicated that James, while outside the margin of error, led him with a significant lead in Clinton Township by 33 points, Shelby Township by 28 points, and Saint Clair Shores/Eastpointe by 19 points, in addition to holding a smaller two-point lead in Rochester/Rochester Hills.

Marlinga only led in Sterling Heights — by 28 points — and the two were tied in Warren.

The poll also showed that 31 percent of the respondents said the economy is their top issue, while 24 percent said abortion, 16 percent said inflation, and 29 percent said “other.”

The independent poll was conducted by Mitchell Research and Communications and was commissioned by MIRS News between August 16 and 21. The respondents were 429 likely voters in Michigan’s Tenth Congressional District with a margin of error of 4.73 percent.

Of the respondents who participated in the survey, the memo indicated that 38 percent of them were Democrats or leaned Democrat, while 36 percent were Republicans or leaned Republican. The remaining 26 percent were independents.

The memo also acknowledged that the recent internal poll from Marlinga’s campaign was conducted by Target Insyght but showed him up over James by two percent.

But Marlinga’s internal poll also had a five percent margin of error and oversampled Democrats by five percent. That poll included 43 percent of the respondents as Democrats, 39 percent as Republicans, and a remainder of 18 percent.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) spokesman Mike Berg said that “John James is one of the best recruits in the country. Crooked child predator defender Carl Marlinga is one of the worst.”

Even as the federal government is loosening COVID-19 restrictions for its workforce and the CDC is increasingly abandoning its more restrictive COVID recommendations for the public, the Biden White House is citing the ebbing pandemic as justification for canceling up to $600 billion in student loan debt without direct congressional authorization.

White House domestic policy adviser Susan Rice and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona claimed on Wednesday that the Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students Act (Heroes Act) gives President Biden the authority to implement his debt forgiveness plan without congressional action.

According to the White House fact sheet on Biden's plan, individuals making less than $125,000 would receive student loan debt forgiveness in amounts up to $10,000. As much as $20,000 of debt cancellation would apply to Pell Grant borrowers making under $75,000 annually. The cutoff date for loans eligible for the forgiveness is June 30, 2022, according to Rice.

Biden has promised that a "short and simple form" would be available for debt forgiveness applicants in the coming weeks.

"The Aug. 11 Oversight Committee roundtable to discuss the Task Force chaired by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (NY-12) showed committee members and various election administration officials talking about the “effects of misinformation and disinformation“ and the Task Force’s plans to address “the chilling impact of how election lies are impacting their (election officials) ability to do their jobs.” Maloney opens,

“Welcome to today’s roundtable on election misinformation. Nearly a year ago, this committee held a hearing on the fraudulent election audit in Maricopa County, Arizona. This so-called audit was inspired by lies about election fraud spread by former President Trump and his allies. During the hearing, Maricopa County Supervisor Bill Gates testified that this effort to undermine the integrity of our elections was, and I quote, the biggest threat to our democracy in my lifetime. End quote. Supervisor Gates is a Republican.”

Gates is a Republican, she says, as if to imply unanimous or unbiased agreement on the matters at hand. Phew, we thought Maloney just threw half the country under the bus because some dared question the 2020 election. With foundational opening statements like these, it stretches credulity to believe this committee will objectively assess what constitutes a threat to election officials. Below is an excerpt of Maloney’s opening statement at the Oct. 7, 2021, House Committee on Oversight and Reform hearing. She hasn’t changed her tune:"

"Marra Adds Screening Question to Poll Worker Application

Cochise County Elections Director Lisa Marra, the one who suggests Sheriffs “keep track” of callers who question elections, added a question to the county’s poll worker application. Those who apply for a position are now being asked to answer questions about the motivation behind their wish to be a poll worker. The 2022 Election Poll Worker Application asks the following question; “What election positions are you interested in and why? What is your motivation for serving as a Poll Worker?”

A cursory look through multiple other state and county poll worker applications shows none have a similar screening question. The state-level ones I reviewed were simple, like this one from California. County-level ones were more detailed, but none I reviewed asked for a motivation to participate in the election process. A typical county application looked more like this one from Cobb County, GA, or this one from Davidson County, TN. From that, it is rational to conclude that the Cochise application is probative for reasons that are not entirely clear with no other context.

For context, a Tennessee Star article referenced the fact that there has been a “significant increase in Republicans applying for these positions this year, with Republican officials calling for 5,000 Republicans to serve in these slots in Arizona. Historically, poll worker positions have been dominated by Democrats.”

The column also references concerns from Cochise County Republican Party chairman, who “urged Marra to aim to hire Republicans for 50 percent of the poll workers.” Republicans in the county outnumber Democrats, 31,736 to 20,770. Montgomery was apparently sufficiently concerned about the Rep./Dem. ratio of poll workers to submit a public record request for the names of the poll workers from 2020 who have been rehired for 2022. The Star states Montgomery is “concerned that the ones who expressed concern about voter fraud are being excluded this year.” Moreover, Arizona law “requires county boards to appoint election inspectors with previous experience “wherever possible.”

A longtime California musician and his wife were found dead on a desert dirt road in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

The bodies of Larry and Betty Petree were discovered Sunday afternoon east of California City, according to KGET. Larry Petree’s body was in the driver’s seat while Betty was found outside the couple’s car, leaning against the rear tire.

Kern County Sheriff’s Office, who did not immediately identify the Petree’s, does not suspect criminal activity played a factor in the couple’s death.

WASHINGTON — A D.C. Superior Judge ruled Thursday that Mayor Muriel Bowser's vaccine mandate is unlawful.

According to a press release from the DC Police Union, Judge Maurice Ross has issued an order ruling that Bowser's COVID-19 mandate, which applies to all D.C. employees, is illegal.

In Aug. 2021, the mayor issued an order requiring all District employees to provide proof of vaccination by Sept. 19, 2021. The order also allowed exemptions to the vaccine rule on religious and medical grounds if the employee agreed to be tested weekly for COVID.

In Dec. 2021, Bowser issued another motion directing city administrators to create a new plan to remove the test-out option, according to court documents.

In early 2022, Bowser requested DC Council extend the emergency legislation requiring the vaccine mandate. DC Council did not extend the measure and failed to pass any legislation extending the code that the mandate was in.

In January, the D.C. Department of Human Resources informed employees that everyone would be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID, including any booster shots when eligible by Feb. 15. Employees who did not follow the guidelines could be disciplined.

With the new ruling, Ross ordered that all disciplinary actions started, proposed or taken due to the vaccine mandate "shall immediately cease and be dismissed with full reimbursement to be provided to all FOP members for any loss of benefits, pay, or rights and all related disciplinary proceedings to be expunged from their records."

In court documents, Ross says Bowser lacked authority to impose the vaccine mandate through emergency executive orders.

"A vaccine mandate is not an everyday exercise of power," court documents read. "It is instead a significant encroachment into the life—and health—of an employee."

The judge ordered Twitter to hand over data on 9,000 accounts the firm audited at the end of 2021, which opens the door for that information to be used in Musk’s effort to quit the $44 billion deal.

“Some additional data from plaintiff (Twitter) seems warranted,” McCormick wrote, without elaborating, in her four-page ruling.

Musk has argued Twitter was dishonest on the number of false or spam accounts, prompting strong denials and a lawsuit from the social media firm that has led to a trial set for mid-October.

Musk’s lawyers pushed hard in a hearing Wednesday to force the firm to turn over mountains of information, while seizing upon a freshly revealed Twitter whistleblower’s claims of serious flaws inside the company.

Twitter lawyer Bradley Wilson countered that the company deceived nobody, and that Musk wants a “do-over” regarding questions he should have asked before he made his unsolicited buyout offer early this year.

The firm opposed handing over certain types of data for reasons including the potential to violate user privacy protected by law, its attorney Wilson argued.

At the Annual Meeting of the Supreme Council for the Scottish Rite's Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, held in September 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio, George E. Bushnell, Deputy for the state of Michigan,

"presented the name of Henry Ford, of Dearborn, Michigan, to receive the degrees of the Rite from the Fourth to the Thirty-second, inclusive, and thereafter, the Thirty-third Degree, and asked for unanimous consent to ballot upon this nomination...The request was granted and the ballot spread and, it proving to be clear, Henry Ford was declared to be elected to receive the degrees of the Rite from the Fourth to the Thirty-second, inclusive, in some Valley of the Jurisdiction in which the degrees were being worked under the direction of the Sovereign Grand Commander, and the Thirty Third Degree after he has been duly created a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret [i.e. 32nd degree]."

At the time that the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction's Supreme Council conferred the Thirty-Third degree on him at age 77, Henry Ford (1863-1947) had been a Mason for 46 years, having been raised in Detroit's Palestine Lodge No. 357 in 1894 at age 31.

On the evening of December 6, 1940, the Supreme Council opened a special meeting to confer the 33° on Henry Ford at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan. The meeting opened at 9pm and was over at 11:45pm. Among those present were the men pictured in the photo above: Ohio Governor John W. Bricker, 33°; Sovereign Grand Commander for Canada’s Supreme Council John A. Rowland, 33°; Sovereign Grand Commander for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction Melvin M. Johnson, 33°; and Deputy for Michigan (and future Sovereign Grand Commander) George E. Bushnell, 33°.

While Ford was unquestionably the most well-known person in the room that evening, two other men pictured in the photo above were not only well-known within Scottish Rite Freemasonry, but were, at the same time, luminaries in the legal field. At the time of the conferral, George E. Bushnell was Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court and Melvin Johnson was Dean of the Boston University Law School. John Bricker, then Governor of Ohio, was also in the legal field, having served as Attorney General for Ohio from 1933-37 before becoming governor, and returning to law practice after his twelve years (1947-1952) as a U.S. Senator from Ohio.

Free Narcan dispenser in Waukesha seeks to stop the rise of opioid overdoses

Waukesha residents can now get free Narcan kits at a vending machine in the Alano Club.

The machine has dispensed about 200 kits since opening in June, and Addiction Resource Council Inc. specialist Jessica Brost said the more Narcan that is out in the county, the better.

“Every dose that is taken as a success in our eyes. We think it should be accessible and free to get Narcan,” Brost said. “Everybody should have it, so that's why it's there.”

The vending machine is an effort to curb rising opioid overdoses in the county. The county has seen a spike in drug-related overdoses in the past three years, going from 56 in 2019 to 92 in 2021.

The Alano Club, which hosts 12-step programs for drug and alcohol users, hosts the vending machine in the lobby at 318 W. Broadway, Waukesha. The machine dispenses free kits with instructions and two doses of Narcan, for community members to administer in case of an opioid overdose.

Symptoms of an opioid overdose can include shallow or stopped breathing, blue lips or fingertips, small pupils, unresponsiveness or unconsciousness, cold or clammy skin and snoring or gurgling sounds, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

If someone is experiencing an opioid overdose, Narcan may temporarily reverse the effects, but it is still encouraged to seek medical attention.

Waukesha’s Department of Health and Human Services financed the Narcan, and the Addiction Resource Council installed and maintains the vending machine.

John Kettler, integrated services coordinator for Waukesha County Health and Human Services, said the spikes in overdoses were partly driven by the increase in fentanyl availability. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin, and Kettler said it is particularly dangerous, as even small doses can trigger an overdose.

“Right now, fentanyl is being found in all kinds of different substances, including fake pills,” Kettler said.

Brost said the Addiction Resource CounciI distributes free fentanyl testing strips at their location in Pewaukee for people to apply to pills or substances in order to stay safe.

Naloxone, colloquially known as Narcan, can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose. Brost said the side effects of Narcan are minimal or nonexistent, and it cannot be overdosed on. Each kit comes with instructions and a QR code that links to video instructions.

The Addiction Resource Council will restock it as needed. Each kit is valid for about three years before expiration.

Kettler said they placed the vending machine at the Alano Club to be accessible to current and former opioid users.

“Most folks going to the Alamo Club would be in recovery … They may still know some folks who are actively using,” Kettler said. “So it is a targeted attempt to try to get a better penetration to the using community, those who are still struggling, to get [Narcan] out to them.”
