The news comes as polls show Republicans are due to take control of Congress in January, and will likely open investigations into much of Fauci's historical work.

Anthony Fauci is set to receive an annual retirement package exceeding $350,000 following his controversial tenure as the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

The staggering, taxpayer-funded figure comes amidst Fauci – who sent U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund risky bat coronavirus research at a Chinese Communist Party-controlled lab in Wuhan – announcing he’d step down from his National Institutes of Health (NIH) position in addition to the role of Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden in December.

“I will be leaving these positions in December of this year to pursue the next chapter of my career,” Fauci added.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to have led the NIAID, an extraordinary institution, for so many years and through so many scientific and public health challenges,” he said, glossing past the long-standing allegations of impropriety in his career that saw him labelled a “murderer” by the LGBT community, as well as seeing his wife take a role as Head of Bioethics in the U.S. government.

But Fauci will have to wait on his government checks for a while, as he also announced, “I am not retiring. After more than 50 years of government service, I plan to pursue the next phase of my career while I still have so much energy and passion for my field. I want to use what I have learned as NIAID Director to continue to advance science and public health and to inspire and mentor the next generation of scientific leaders as they help prepare the world to face future infectious disease threats.”

Commenters have already noted that Fauci’s vague resignation as Republicans are set to take control of the House and its investigative powers means he may well be leaving the gates open to the corporate side of his work. Fauci’s operations have enriched Big Pharma for decades, and he may now reap the rewards.

“Over the coming months, I will continue to put my full effort, passion and commitment into my current responsibilities, as well as help prepare the Institute for a leadership transition. NIH is served by some of the most talented scientists in the world, and I have no doubt that I am leaving this work in very capable hands,” he concluded in a statement.

As the most highly compensated federal employee who served in the government for 55 years, Fauci is eligible to earn “80 percent of [his] high-3 average salary, plus credit for [his] sick leave,” according to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

The most recent disclosures of Fauci’s salary are from the years 2018, 2019, and 2020, which total $399,625, $417,608, and $434,312, respectively.

Based on analysis and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests filed by the watchdog group Open The Books, Fauci’s salaries from more recent years would likely be even higher and entitle him to an even larger retirement package.

Dr. Fauci earned a total of $1,252,000 from 2018 to 2020, entitling him to a federal pension of $333,745 a year, plus cost-of-living increases, as calculated by Open The Books.

“However, Fauci’s unpublished FY2021 and FY2022 salaries are likely commensurate, if not higher than his 2020 salary. Therefore, his retirement pay would be closer to $347,500 a year,” explained the group. Fauci will also likely receive an annuity from the federal government.

After 10 years of service, federal employees are eligible for “2 percent of [their] high-3 average salary for each year.” This would allow him to earn an extra $8,344 a year (($1,251,545/3) x 2% = $8,344).

“If he leaves at the end of this month, that figure is likely closer to $8,575 a year in annuity payments, assuming his salary did not go down in 2021,” explained Open The Books.

Fauci’s impending resignation follows NIH Director Francis Collins stepping down from his role upon scrutiny of the agency’s decision to fund gain-of-function research in China. Fauci, whose track record on other public health crises such as HIV and AIDS has also been controversial, also retained close relationships with many of the researchers involved in the Wuhan-based research despite efforts to distance himself following the outbreak of COVID-19.

Pfizer and BioNTech said Monday that they have asked the Food and Drug Administration to authorize a new booster shot targeted at the Omicron BA.4/BA.5 strain of the coronavirus that causes Covid-19, the first step in a process that could lead to more effective booster shots.

Notably, in the same press release, the companies said that a clinical study investigating the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of the vaccine, which also includes the original Covid strain, is expected to start this month, meaning data would not be available for the FDA to consider.

The application to authorize the vaccine without new clinical trial data is part of a bold and potentially controversial gambit by the U.S. and its advisers to try and get ahead of the fast-mutating coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. But it’s one that could also have a big payoff.

One of the problems for the Covid vaccines is that by the time a booster shot designed to take on a variant has gone through clinical trials – which have already been accelerated to take only a matter of months – a new variant may be on the horizon. So the FDA and its advisers have backed a plan that argues that enough is now known about the Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech platforms to approve booster shots before clinical data are available.

Pfizer and BioNTech said that they would be able to begin shipping the new shots in September, and would do so as soon as the vaccines were authorized.

In June, an FDA advisory panel composed of independent doctors and scientists voted 19-2 that the agency should approve an Omicron-containing booster shot, and the panelists largely supported making that shot one that contained the BA.4/BA.5 strains, not the earlier Omicron strain for which Pfizer and Moderna had already collected clinical data.

The decision is based on high confidence that the vaccine platforms, which have proven effective against earlier strains, will be effective yet again. It is also based on the hard fact that smaller studies of the vaccines are unlikely to give much information about the known side effects of the vaccines. With the existing vaccines, known issues like myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart that has mostly occurred in young men, are simply too rare to detect in even the largest clinical trials that include tens of thousands of patients. Instead, they have been detected by monitoring of vaccines once they are in broad use.

Pfizer and BioNTech said the application would also include the clinical data from their earlier Omicron vaccine. The companies asked European regulators to authorize that vaccine, which has completed a Phase 2/Phase 3 trial in July. The U.S. is deciding to go straight to a newer vaccine with less data.

But some experts could question the U.S. approach. John Moore, an immunologist at Weill Cornell Medicine, recently told NPR that he doesn’t agree. “Mouse data are not going to be predictive in any way of what you would see in humans.” (The FDA’s outside experts clearly disagreed.)

Aside from questions of clinical efficacy, the tenor of the debate could impact the bigger issue around the booster shots: whether people get them. As of June, 222 million Americans had been vaccinated but only 105 million had received a booster dose. Will the new shots make people more likely to get boosters, because they are more effective? Or will the difference in how they were developed make some reticent?

For researchers who have been developing vaccines like the mRNA shots to deal with emerging infectious diseases, the goal was always that new vaccine platforms would allow vaccines to be developed extremely quickly. In a sense, the American public is now going to be the first judge of how close scientists and public health officials have gotten to that goal.

Career

From 1981 through the 1990s, Nader was editor of Middle East Insight;[13] the magazine ceased publication in 2002.[14]

During the George H. W. Bush Administration he helped to free American hostages in Lebanon after the Iran–Contra affair.[13]During the Clinton Administration, Nader tried unsuccessfully to broker an Israeli–Syrian peace agreement, working with Estée Lauder heir Ronald Lauder.[13]

Working with Republican fundraiser Elliott Broidy in 2017, Nader funded a conference criticizing Qatar that was hosted by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.[19] At the time Nader and Broidy were pushing the White House to remove Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, whom the Saudis and Emiratis saw as insufficiently tough on Iran and Qatar.[10]

In January 2018, Nader was served a grand-jury subpoena,[20] and special counsel Robert Mueller's investigators questioned him to elicit if the UAE had tried to influence members of President Trump's campaign.[13][21] Kathryn Ruemmler, an Obama-era White House counsel, was among the lawyers representing Nader.[1] Nader was granted immunity for information for the investigation.[10][22]

Campaign finance charges

In December 2019, court documents were unsealed that showed Nader had been charged in federal court with violating campaign finance laws, and falsifying records.[5] The prosecutors alleged that, using banking industry executive Andy Khawaja as a front to obscure the source, Nader sent over $3.5 million to organizations supporting Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign for President, in an attempt to cultivate ties with the candidate.[5] Khawaja donated $1 million to the Trump inauguration.[5] The documents indicated that Nader continually reported the status of his efforts to an unnamed foreign nation.[5] A December 2021 sentencing memo indicated that Nader had pleaded guilty to "felony conspiracy to defraud the US government” in the case, and prosecutors sought a five-year sentence, to be served at the end of his ongoing 10-year child pornography sentence.[23] (See below.)

Newly updated Covid booster shots designed to target omicron’s BA.5 subvariant should be available within in the next three weeks. That begs an important question: Who’s going to be eligible to get them?

The short answer: anyone ages 12 and up who has completed a primary vaccination series, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spokesperson tells CNBC Make It. It’s unlikely to matter whether you’ve received any other booster doses or not before, the spokesperson says — but if you’re unvaccinated, you won’t be eligible for the updated formula until you complete a primary series with the existing Covid vaccines.

The longer answer is somewhat more complex, because it depends on which booster shots get approved and when.

Pfizer’s “bivalent” shot, which targets both the original Covid strain and omicron’s BA.5 subvariant, is expected to be authorized first. The CDC says it’ll likely come with a wide eligibility swath: the full group of vaccinated Americans ages 12 and up.

Moderna’s bivalent shot is expected to follow suit later, most likely in October. It’ll come with a somewhat narrower range of eligibility, at least at first: vaccinated people ages 18 and older. For both shots, younger pediatric age groups could become eligible later, the CDC says.

Those projections are tentative, at least for now. A person familiar with the matter told NBC News on Wednesday that it’ll hinge on how much supply Pfizer and Moderna are able to manufacture and roll out by next month. If that supply is limited, the shots could first be available to those most at risk, such as the elderly and immunocompromised.

Federal health officials believe the shots will provide the best level of protection against the highly transmissible BA.5 subvariant to date, especially in the fall and winter when a large wave of Covid infections is projected to hit the U.S.

“It’s going to be really important that people this fall and winter get the new shot. It’s designed for the virus that’s out there,” Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House’s Covid response coordinator, said at a virtual event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation on Tuesday.

Should I get a second booster dose now, or wait for the omicron-specific shots?

If you’re eligible for a second booster dose but haven’t received it yet, Jha’s advice is to get it now rather than holding off in anticipation of the updated boosters. That advice could apply to a lot of people: Among adults 50 and over who are eligible for a second booster shot, only 33.2% have gotten it, according to the latest CDC data.

“My general feeling is, no reason to wait, go get it, even if we’re only a few weeks away,” Jha said at the Chamber event. He added that people who get boosted now will still be able to get the BA.5 shot in a few months, when their immunity from the booster wanes.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Biden’s chief medical advisor, has also emphasized that all Americans should get vaccinated and boosted now if they aren’t up to date, noting that the country’s approved vaccines still work exceptionally well at preventing severe illness, hospitalization and death.

“If [people] don’t get vaccinated or they don’t get boosted, they’re going to get into trouble,” Fauci told Los Angeles radio station KNX News 97.1′s “KNX In Depth” earlier this month.

As for the BA.5 shot, experts are split over whether you should get it as soon as you’re eligible or wait to get it until cases rise in the fall or winter, in an attempt to maximize your immunity boost over those crucial months.

Power in the army

Amendments to the Law on National Defence, which came into force, transfer powers from civilians to military officials.

In general, the amendments reduce the role of the State Council of the central government by transferring power to the CMC, the Central Military Committee of the Communist Party.

In particular, the State Council will no longer supervise the mobilization of the People's Liberation Army.

As Zeng Zhiping of Soochow University told Hong Kong's South China Morning Post, "the CMC is now officially responsible for developing national defense policy and principles, while the State Council becomes a mere implementing body that provides support to the military."

"The recent changes to China's National Defense Act that reduce the authority of the State Council are largely political affiliation," Richard Fisher of the Virginia-based International Center for Evaluation and Strategy told me immediately after the amendments took effect.

Military mobilization

"The Chinese Communist Party and especially the existing CMC have always had the highest authority in decisions about war and peace."

Why then are we interested in the amendments to the Law on National Defence?

The amendments, Fisher tells us, "show China's ambition to achieve levels of military mobilization of 'the whole nation' to wage wars and give the CMC official authority to control future Chinese capabilities for global military intervention."

"The revised National Defense Law also embodies the idea that everyone should participate in national defense," the Communist Party's Global Times reports, summing up the words of an anonymous CMC official.

"All national organizations, armed forces, political parties, citizens' groups, businesses, social organizations and other organizations should support and participate in the development of national defense, fulfill national defense tasks and carry out national defense missions in accordance with the law.

As Fisher said "for the past 40 years, the Communist Party of China has been preparing for war and is now accelerating its plans." The Party, as it is ready for battle, leaves nothing to chance.

Preparing for sanctions – Invasion of Taiwan

On April 22, finance ministry and central bank officials met with representatives of dozens of banks, including HSBC, to discuss what Beijing could do if punitive measures were imposed on China. The holding of the "extraordinary meeting", as reported by the Financial Times, is ominous.

"Officials and bystanders did not mention specific scenarios, but a possible trigger for such sanctions is believed to be a Chinese invasion of Taiwan," the FT noted.

The fact that Chinese officials held the meeting is a clear indication that Beijing is planning war actions.

"Be ready for battle." This is how Hong Kong's South China Morning Post summed up Chinese ruler Xi Jinping's first order toward the military in 2019.

In January of the same year, he gave an important speech to the CMC on preparations for the war, and the speech was then broadcast at the national level.

Foreign analysts are debating whether China will go to war soon. The Chinese political system has become less transparent over time, so it is not clear what senior leaders think.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions quietly tasked Huber with the investigation in 2018 after two House committees called for a review into whether Department of Justice or FBI employees were biased during their now-closed probe of Clinton’s use of a private email server, and as they began investigating Trump campaign ties to Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

The UK economy witnessed in 2020 an 11% drop, the biggest since the Office for National Statistics (ONS) began keeping records and the UK’s largest GDP slump since 1709, the year of the ‘Great Frost,’ when the country’s economy shrank by 13.4%, according to historical data provided by the Bank of England.

The downward spiral was triggered by new data showing the effect the COVID-19 pandemic had on healthcare and individual retailers, and forcing the Bank of England to raise its interest rate from 1.25 percent to 1.75 percent.

ONS analyst Craig McLaren explained: “The health service faced higher costs than we initially estimated, meaning its overall contribution to the economy was lower,”, adding that retailers also faced higher costs, which prompted statisticians to go over their contribution to the economy.

Last year, the British economy largely returned to its pre-pandemic levels. However, since the start of this year, it has been increasingly battered by rising inflation, which has reached its highest since 1982, and analysts now fear the country could tip into a recession by the end of the year.

The GDP in Britain dropped by 0.1% between April and June. In the previous quarter, the UK GDP witnessed a rise of 0.8%. It is worth noting that the ONS also stated that in June, the UK economy fell by 0.6%. A recession is marked by a GDP fall in two consecutive quarters.

Christopher Dembik, head of macro analysis at Saxo Bank, said that “What Brexit has not done by itself, Brexit coupled with Covid and high inflation have succeeded in doing,” adding that “The UK economy is crushed.”

The ONS is due to publish its updated growth figures for 2021 and the first half of 2022 in September. The agency routinely updates its GDP estimates when it obtains more data.

“I have become increasingly worried about our planet and the climate crisis we are facing,” Kevin Priola said, in a letter posted to social media on Monday, as he announced his switch to the Democrats, adding: “The Republican party I joined decades ago created national parks, preserved federal lands, and protected wildlife. President Nixon signed the legislation that created the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Today, my Republican colleagues would rather deny the existence of human-caused climate change than take action.”

Priola commented such inaction would affect the residents of Colorado already subject to “a near year-round wildfire season” and “a seemingly never-ending drought”, referencing Republican attempts to block “reasonable climate measures”, and not being able to stay silent on the matter, with the last being Trump's withdrawal from the 2015 climate pact.

Once a Republican bastion, Colorado has been trending towards the left. Democrats already control the state senate, by 20-15 before Priola’s switch.

In his letter, Priola discussed discontent with the direction of the Republican party under Donald Trump, the former president who refuses to accept his defeat in 2020 while indicating he will run again in two years’ time.

“Like many Coloradans,” Priola wrote, “I watched the events on January 6 [2021] with horror. I felt that clearly this would be the last straw and that my party would now finally distance itself from Donald Trump and the political environment he created," before adding: “Week after week and month after month, I waited for that response. It never came.”

Priola commended “brave and honorable” Republicans who stood against Trump after the Capitol attack, including Utah senator Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney, the Wyoming congresswoman who last week lost her primary after taking a leading role in the House January 6 committee which is looking over the Capitol attack.

“Fear-mongering to raise money or motivate voters is nothing new,” Priola wrote, “but it has been taken to a dangerous and destabilizing level. I cannot continue to be part of a political party that is OK with a violent attempt to overturn a free and fair election and continues to peddle claims that the 2020 election was stolen,” he argued.

Priola said he became a Republican due to the examples of Richard Nixon – the only president to resign in disgrace – and Ronald Reagan, but would now caucus with Democrats despite not sharing many of their positions. Priola was elected in 2020 after he won a narrow race in the 25th senate district in the Denver suburbs. He is due to serve until 2025.

“Our affiliations have become too tribal,” he wrote. “I’ve always been an independent thinker and … I don’t plan to change that. I do not believe either party has a monopoly on the truth. For instance, my pro-life position, school choice [support], and pro-second amendment stance often run counter to the Democratic party platform.”

Looking towards the November elections in which Republicans on the national stage will seek to take back Congress, he further stated: “we are in the midst of an election that will determine which party controls the [Colorado] senate chamber. Even if there continue to be issues that I disagree with the Democratic party on, there is too much at stake right now for Republicans to be in charge.”

Saying he had decided to “align with truth over conspiracy”, Priola concluded: “We need Democrats in charge because our planet and our democracy depend on it.”

Priola has often voted with Democrats on legislation intended to address climate change and other issues. He said he will caucus with Senate Democrats but continue an independent streak that includes strong opposition to abortion.

The German Working Group for COVID Vaccine Analysis has made its initial findings publicly available in a wide-ranging report:

1. Toxic substances were found in all of the samples of COVID-19 vaccines - without exception.

2. The blood samples of all the people who had been vaccinated showed marked changes.

3. The greater the stability of the envelope of lipid nanoparticles, the more frequent are vaccine side effects.

1. In all samples of COVID-19 vaccines, without exception, components were found,

using several methods of measurement, that:

- are, in the quantities found, toxic according to medical guidelines,

- had not been declared by the manufacturers as present in the vaccines,

- are for the most part metallic,

- are visible under the dark-field microscope as distinctive

and complex structures of different sizes,

- can only partially be explained as a result of crystallisation or

decomposition processes,

- cannot be explained as contamination from the manufacturing process.

2. The comparison of blood samples from unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals

by means of dark-field microscopy showed noticeable changes in the blood of each

person who had been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccines. This was evident

even if those people hadn’t at that point displayed any visible reaction to the

vaccinations. Complex structures similar to those in the vaccines were found in the

blood samples of the vaccinated. Using artificial intelligence (AI) image analysis,

the difference between the blood of vaccinated and unvaccinated people was

confirmed.

3. The stability of the lipid nanoparticle envelope is closely correlated with the incidence

of vaccine side effects and injury. The more stable this envelope, the greater the

amount of mRNA that penetrates cells, where the production of spike proteins then

takes place. These results correspond with the findings of pathologists who have

carried out autopsies on people who died due to vaccine injury. Spike proteins were

detected in damaged tissue. Researchers suspect that the spike protein is, in itself,

toxic.

The German Working Group for COVID Vaccine Analysis is an interdisciplinary

working group that has undertaken the task of analysing the contents and the

effects of the novel COVID-19 vaccines. The group consists of independent

scientists, including physicians, physicists, chemists, microbiologists,

pharmacologists and alternative health practitioners, supported by lawyers,

psychologists, analysts and journalists. The Working Group for COVID Vaccine

Analysis uses modern medical and physical measuring techniques, the results of

which have confirmed and complemented each other: Scanning Electron

Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX), Mass

Spectroscopy (MS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Analysis (ICP), Bright Field

Microscopy (BFM), Dark Field Microscopy (DFM) and Live Blood Image

Diagnostics, as well as analysis of images using Artificial Intelligence. The Working

Group for COVID Vaccine Analysis continues to work in close cooperation with

several international groups that are carrying out similar investigations and who

have obtained results consistent with our own. The results from our analysis of the

vaccines can, consequently, be regarded as cross-validated. There are questions

that need to be satisfactorily answered by the vaccine manufacturers and, in

Germany, by the Paul Ehrlich Institute (the agency of the German Federal Ministry

links between the vaccines and fatalities need to be investigated.

UN General Assembly moves closer to adopting resolution declaring abortion a 'human right'

Delegates at the United Nations General Assembly are finalizing negotiations on a resolution that would require all U.N. agencies to declare abortion a human right, reportedly due to pressure from the European Union and the Biden administration.

The resolution contains language about abortion that has reportedly been rejected in other resolutions over the past decade. As the Center for Family and Human Rights (C-Fam) earlier reported, it's being considered for adoption by the end of the month.

According to C-Fam, the resolution declares that governments should secure “access to safe abortion” as a matter of policy and “ensure the promotion and protection of the human rights of all women and their sexual and reproductive health.”

Western countries backing the resolution reportedly forced the inclusion of this language. Although a Japanese diplomat leading the negotiations stated that delegations could not alter the language on abortion, it remained despite repeat objections, according to C-Fam.

The resolution’s language does not outright declare abortion an international human right and includes the caveat “where such services are permitted by law.”

Liberal Catholic Priest Father James Martin Hammered for Defending Bishop Who Protected Sex Abusers

Former Milwaukee Archbishop Rembert Weakland died at the age of 95 on Monday, and though liberal Catholics would prefer to remember him as a “critic of Vatican orthodoxy,” as the New York Times said in his obituary, rank and file Catholics remember him for his role in the child sex abuse scandals of the late-20th century.

As the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel profiled in 2009, Weakland shredded copies of reports profiling abusive priests as he shuffled them around his diocese without warning parishioners.

“Former Milwaukee Archbishop Rembert Weakland routinely shredded copies of weekly reports about sexual abuse by priests, according to formerly sealed testimony turned over to Milwaukee County’s district attorney on Thursday,” the outlet reported.

“In a 1993 deposition, Weakland admitted destroying copies of the reports in his office, according to a partial transcript of the deposition released by Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests,” it added.

Weakland later addressed the issue in his autobiography by claiming he did not know the sexual abuse of minors to be a crime. “We all considered sexual abuse of minors as a moral evil, but had no understanding of its criminal nature,” Weakland wrote.

Peter Isely, Midwest director for the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), said that Weakland either lied or deceived himself.

“It’s beyond belief. He’s either lying or he’s so self-deceived that he’s inventing fanciful stories,” said Isely. “These have always been crimes.”

After publicly positioning himself as a liberal prelate that openly questioned the church’s stance on a range of issues, from abortion to contraception to homosexual acts, Weakland retired in disgrace at the age of 75 in 2002 after it had been revealed he paid $450,000 in hush money to a former male lover of his who had threatened to go public with their affair.

When announcing Weakland’s death, Father James Martin mourned the disgraced archbishop as a “friend” and an “erudite scholar.”

“Archbishop Rembert Weakland has died. An erudite scholar, gifted pastor and Benedictine abbot primate, his legacy was marred by revelations that he paid money to a man with whom he had been in a relationship. I considered him a friend and mourn his loss. May he rest in peace,” Martin tweeted on Monday.

When pressed on Weakland’s role in covering up the sexual abuse of children, Father Martin leaped to his defense:

Whistleblower faces involuntary separation from Army.A medical Army officer who discovered a sudden increase in disease coinciding with reports of side effects alongside COVID-19 vaccines—which the Army has dismissed as a data glitch—said he faces involuntary separation after being convicted but not punished for disobeying COVID-19 protocol.

In January 2022, First Lt. Mark Bashaw, a preventive medicine officer at the Army, started noticing some “alarming signals” within the defense epidemiological database. The Defense Medical Epidemiology Database (DMED), which tracks disease and injuries of 1.3 million active component service members, showed during the pandemic a significant increase in reports of cancers, myocarditis, and pericarditis; as well as some other diseases like male infertility, tumors, a lung disease caused by blood clots, and HIV, Bashaw said.

All these illnesses are listed in FDA documentation as potential adverse reactions associated with COVID-19 vaccines, Bashaw told EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program in an interview on Aug. 1. Seeing increases in cases of these illnesses as high as 50 percent or 100 percent in some situations, Bashaw stepped forward as a whistleblower to raise concerns about his findings.

Bashaw’s whistleblower declaration, submitted to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) who is facilitating the sharing of information from early investigations of COVID-19 products with Congress, said he saw the increasing incidence of these disorders observed in DMED as “very troubling.” Specifically, the number of cancer cases among active service members in 2021 nearly tripled in comparison with the average number of cancer instances per year from 2016 to 2020, Bashaw said in his declaration.

Bashaw’s responsibilities as a preventive medicine officer, with a specialty in entomology, include “participating in fact-finding inquiries and investigations to determine potential public health risk to DoD [Department of Defense] personnel from diseases caused by insects and other non-battle related injuries.”

Glitch in DMED: A week after this information was brought out in January in a “COVID-19: Second Opinion” roundtable organized by Johnson, the data in DMED changed, Bashaw said, and all of these troubling spikes in diseases and injuries “seemed to have disappeared and been realigned with previous years.”

After the glitch, Bashaw pulled out data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) for injuries related to viral vaccines to compare to his findings on DMED. He compared the average of the last 24 years to data for 2021 and found an eleven-fold increase in the number of suspected adverse incidents reported in 2021.

“I compared it to theaverage of the last 24 years, it’s a 1,100 percent increase in 2021. And the only difference we had in 2021 was the rollout of these experimental emergency use authorized COVID-19 vaccines,” Bashaw said.

Targeted for Disobeying COVID-19 Rules: Bashaw has been court-martialed for disobeying the mandated COVID-19 protocol. He challenged the accusation saying that the order to follow the protocol disregarded the individual’s right to informed consent guaranteed by U.S. law. The court convicted Bashaw, but the judge did not hand down any punishment and recommended to the commanding general to drop the conviction, Bashaw said, but the general upheld the conviction.

After the conviction, the Army initiated Bashaw’s involuntary separation from serviceafter 17 years of honorable service. His expected promotion to captain was also withheld, the officer said. The justification for his discharge was that the army lost trust in his “capabilities as an officer over the past seven months,” Bashaw explained. Bashaw filed a rebuttal, hoping to reverse its course.

Recently, Bashaw has petitioned the Judge Advocate General of the Army, asking the general to review what he has brought forth in official documentation. This is concrete evidence, and it is well founded on the law to protect service members and individuals in general, Bashaw said. “I wouldn’t be risking 17 years of my service [and] the health and welfare of my family on some flimsy argument.” Bashaw said that he is concerned with the integrity of the data that the leadership is basing their strategic decisions upon.

John Solomon reported Monday on leaked memos that revealed the Biden White House helped instigate the criminal investigation into Trump’s handling of documents.

They eliminated Trump’s executive privilege claims — which allowed for the DOJ to issue a subpoena against Trump.

That subpoena ultimately led to the raid.

According to the memos, the Biden White House instigated the criminal investigation by eliminating Trump’s claims to executive privilege.

Then-White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su had conversations with the FBI, DOJ, and National Archives in April.

The memos show then-White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su was engaged in conversations with the FBI, DOJ and National Archives as early as April, shortly after 15 boxes of classified and other materials were voluntarily returned to the federal historical agency from Trump’s Florida home.

By May, Su conveyed to the Archives that President Joe Biden would not object to waiving his predecessor’s claims to executive claims, a decision that opened the door for DOJ to get a grand jury to issue a subpoena compelling Trump to turn over any remaining materials he possessed from his presidency.

The machinations are summarized in several memos and emails exchanged between the various agencies in spring 2022, months before the FBI took the added unprecedented step of raiding Trump’s Florida compound with a court-issued search warrant.

Teachers Union President Defends School District That Will Lay Off White Teachers First

American Federation of Teachers (AFT) president Randi Weingarten defended a contract between Minneapolis Public Schools and the union which will fire white teachers over minority teachers.

The March contract between Minneapolis Public Schools and the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers (MFT) includes a deal that fires teachers who are not a part of underrepresented populations first, instead of basing termination on seniority. Weingarten tweeted an article by the Associated Press with a quote from Greta Callahan, the president of the teachers chapter of Minneapolis Federation of Teachers.

“This,” Weingarten tweeted, followed by a quote from Callahan.

“The same people who want to take down teachers unions and blame seniority are now defending it for white people. This is all made up by the right wing now,” Callahan said.

Callahan said that the new contract does not threaten any job because there are vacancies in the school district, according to the AP. She also added that the contract will help account for the minority teachers who have quit in the past few years.

The contract that ended a 14-day union strike keeps minority teachers “exempted from district-wide layoff[s] outside seniority order.” The new policy is intended to reverse “past discrimination” due to “disproportionate hiring.”

Weingarten, AFT, MFT and Minneapolis Public Schools did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Unusual Toxic Components Found in COVID Vaccines, ‘Without Exception’: German Scientists

An analysis of COVID vaccine samples studied by a group of independent German scientists using modern medical and physical measuring techniques found toxic components, mostly metallic, in all the COVID vaccine samples they analyzed “without exception.”

The Epoch Times reported that a study done by The Working Group for COVID Vaccine Analysis revealed that some of the toxic elements found inside the AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna vaccine vials were not listed in the ingredient lists from the manufacturers.

The following metallic elements were found in the vaccines:

Alkali metals: caesium (Cs), potassium (K)

Alkaline earth metals: calcium (Ca), barium (Ba)

Transition metals: cobalt (Co), iron (Fe), chromium (Cr), titanium (Ti)

Rare earth metals: cerium (Ce), gadolinium (Gd)

Mining group/metal: aluminum (Al)

Carbon group: silicon (Si) (partly support material/slide)

Oxygen group: sulphur (S)

These elements “are visible under the dark-field microscope as distinctive and complex structures of different sizes, can only partially be explained as a result of crystallization or decomposition processes, [and] cannot be explained as contamination from the manufacturing process,” the researchers found.

The findings, which have been declared as preliminary, “build on the work of other researchers in the international community who have described similar findings, such as Dr. Young, Dr. Nagase, Dr. Botha, Dr. Flemming, Dr. Robert Wakeling, and Dr. Noak,” Dr. Janci Lindsay, Ph.D., a toxicologist not involved in the study, told The Epoch Times.

“The number and consistency of the allegations of contamination alone, coupled with the eerie silence from global safety and regulatory bodies, is troublesome and perplexing in terms of ‘transparency’ and continued allegations by these bodies that the genetic vaccines are ‘safe,’” Lindsay added.

Helena Krenn, founder of the group, which is made up of 60 members including physicians, physicists, chemists, microbiologists and alternative health practitioners as well as supportive lawyers and psychologists, submitted the findings to German government authorities for review.

“We had submitted it to the participants of the government and further addresses from newspapers with the platform open-debate.eu, only in Germany, Austria, and Suisse,” Krenn told The Epoch Times.

In addition to the primary discovery, two other important findings were made in the study. Blood samples from the vaccinated had “marked changes,” and more side effects were observed in proportion to “the stability of the envelope of lipid nanoparticles.”

A lipid nanoparticle is a fat-soluble membrane that is the cargo of the messenger RNA, or mRNA. Numerous COVID vaccines, including the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, utilize mRNA technology in their deployment.

The CDC writes that, “After vaccination, the mRNA will enter the muscle cells. Once inside, they use the cells’ machinery to produce a harmless piece of what is called the spike protein. The spike protein is found on the surface of the virus that causes COVID-19. After the protein piece is made, our cells break down the mRNA and remove it, leaving the body as waste.”

For gender-affirming genital procedures, such as penile inversion vaginoplasty, peritoneal vaginoplasty, orchiectomy, and phalloplasty, patients must be 18 or older by the time of genital surgery.

However, the site states that: “The Surgical Gender Affirmation Program treats teens and young adults. For most services, Seattle Children’s treats patients up to age 21. For medical care, patients may be transitioned to adult providers after age 18. For gender-affirming surgery, we treat some patients through age 26.

TWO New Studies Show Link Between Incurable, Degenerative Brain Disease and the Experimental Covid-19 Vaccine

Two new clinical studies – one peer-reviewed by researchers in Turkey, and one pre-print by researchers in France – have begun to establish an alarming link between an incurable, degenerative brain disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) and the experimental Covid-19 vaccine.

CJD is a “rare” disease that is caused by abnormal infectious proteins in the brain called “prions,” according to NHS. Although the presence of prions is not necessarily dangerous or deadly, the proteins will cause degenerative brain damage if they become diseased or misfolded. Once this process begins, the malfunctioning prions will continue to corrupt other cells, leading to a prognosis that is always fatal.

As of right now, CJD is uncurable. There are zero treatment options available. The diagnosis is essentially a death sentence, but symptoms are traditionally dormant for several years before manifesting into a deadly complication.

Unfortunately, with the new cases of CJD that have been linked to the vaccine, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The disease is progressing at an alarming and unprecedented rate. So much so that the team of French researchers highlighted their concerns of the experimental mRNA vaccines contributing directly to creating a new, more aggressive type of CJD.

According to the French study, a total of 26 cases of vaccine-linked CJD were included in the research.

At the time of the study’s publication, a whopping 20 out of the 26 CJD patients had already passed away from the disease. Additionally, researchers found that there were “more than 50 cases” of the fatal disease that appeared after taking the experimental vaccines.

Despite traditionally taking as much as a decade to manifest with symptoms, the study found symptoms in these new cases began appearing just 11.38 days post-vaccination. In these cases, the disease is killing the affected individuals in under 5 months’ time (4.76 months).

In a few weeks, more 50 cases of almost spontaneous emergence of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease have appeared in France and Europe very soon after the injection of the first or second dose of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneka vaccines.”

National Archives says at least 700 pages of classified materials seized from Trump’s home

The Justice Department seized at least 700 pages of classified materials when it first recovered documents from former President Trump’s Florida home in January, according to a letter released by the National Archives on Tuesday.

An exchange between the custodians for presidential records and Trump’s attorneys, released after it was first obtained by a conservative news outlet, indicated the former president’s legal team spent months attempting to block the FBI and the intelligence community from reviewing the documents to assess the potential national security fallout.

The exchange revealed that among the materials were those at “the highest levels of classification, including Special Access Program (SAP) materials.”

The letter from the National Archives, sent in May, also reiterated a warning first relayed by the Justice Department a month before.

“Access to the materials is not only necessary for purposes of our ongoing criminal investigation, but the Executive Branch must also conduct an assessment of the potential damage resulting from the apparent manner in which these materials were stored and transported and take any necessary remedial steps,” Debra Steidel Wall, acting archivist of the United States, wrote in relaying a message from the Justice Department’s National Security Division.

The letter offers new insights into the volume of documents that may have been stored at Mar-a-Lago, illuminating what was among the 15 boxes taken by Archives earlier this year.

Authorities separately seized another 11 sets of classified documents during an August search of Trump’s home.

The New York Times reported Monday that the government has recovered at least 300 classified documents from Mar-a-Lago since Trump left office.

The letter also indicates that Trump’s team of attorneys was able to successfully stymy the FBI from reviewing the materials for at least a month.

Wall’s letter makes clear that the FBI was eager to begin a damage assessment to determine whether any information was improperly shared and to take next steps to protect various sources of information gathering.

Her correspondence came at a key time in the government’s battle to get the documents. The day after the May 10 letter informed the Trump legal team they’d be turning over the documents to the FBI, the Justice Department issued a subpoena seeking remaining classified materials stored at Mar-a-Lago.

The letter is also a wholesale rejection of any executive privilege claims from Trump.

It was not a minor dust up over bureaucratic processes blown out of proportion. It was the criminal justice system operating just like it does with any other private citizen on any other given day ending in a "y."

Trump was the president and commander-in-chief up until noon on January 20, 2021. The moment Joe Biden took the Oath of Office, Trump became just another private citizen in his 70s who vacations in Florida during the winter months to avoid the bitter cold back in his native home in the Northeast. Trump spent his final two months desperately trying in the courts, and later through state legislatures and ultimately the January 6, 2021 rally, to reverse his election loss. Document archival was not high on his priority list.

The result was apparently more than 25 boxes’ worth of presidential records were shipped to Florida and stored in a basement at Mar-a-Lago. If this were a mere issue of simply recovering unclassified presidential records, though, there likely never would have been a criminal element to this matter. But buried into those boxes were countless properly marked classified documents. Those documents lacked any markings indicating that Trump had ever declassified them. No actual substantiated evidence indicates Mr. Trump ever declassified them. No one viewing those records would have any reason to view them as anything other than properly classified documents.

The government tried to recover the documents peacefully and quietly. They spent one year discussing the matter with Trump’s staff, and 15 boxes were sent back to NARA in February.

After identifying more missing records, the government returned in June with a subpoena and found more boxes of records that should have been returned. Both times, properly marked classified documents – up to and including documents marked as Top Secret and requiring Sensitive Compartmented Information access eligibility – were located within the boxes.

A Trump lawyer swore out an affidavit promising there were no more documents. The government gathered evidence that the Trump lawyer was not being truthful, and on August 8, 2022, a court-authorized search warrant was executed that, sure enough, located several more classified documents.

That is not an abuse of law enforcement processes. That is how the law works.

You cannot remove properly marked classified documents and place them in a location not authorized for retention of classified documents. You cannot obstruct a federal investigation seeking to lawfully recover those documents. You cannot present false statements to federal investigators.

Fealty to Israeli and Jewish interests is the new normal

I have to confess a certain liking for Russian President Vladimir Putin. No, it’s not over his actions in Ukraine, nor his authoritarian tendencies domestically. It is due to the fact that he sometimes articulates the hypocrisy of foreign countries and leaders in a pithy and take-no-prisoners fashion.

He has lately been brave enough to compare and contrast what the Russian military has been accused of in Ukraine with what Israel has been doing to Gaza.

He has done so by asking a series of questions that together demonstrate the hypocrisy of Washington and of some Europeans over what constitutes war crimes or crimes against humanity.

The questions were:

“First, are there any sanctions against Israel for the murder and destruction of innocent Palestinian women and children? Second, are there any sanctions against the United States for killing and destroying lives of innocent women and children in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Cuba, Vietnam, and even stealing their diamonds and gold? And third, were there any sanctions against the US and France over the killing of Muammar Gaddafi and the destruction of Libya?”

Russia, of course, has been on the receiving end of sanctions and boycotts and even official theft of the money that it had in US and European banks. It has also had to deal as well with military support provided by NATO to the Volodymyr Zelensky regime in Ukraine. Last month the US Senate unanimously passed a ridiculous nonbinding resolution declaring Russia to be a “state sponsor of terrorism,” which, if endorsed by the White House, would inevitably lead to still more sanctions and increasing aid to Zelensky and his corrupt cronies in an openly declared attempt to weaken Russia and bring down Putin. It would also mean that a future functional diplomatic relationship between Moscow and Washington would become impossible. Implicit in Putin’s questions is the clear accusation that there is a double standard on what constitutes national security. The West supports military resistance by Ukraine against Russia but does not support the right of the Palestinians to defend themselves when attacked by Israel, as took place on August 5th, an unprovoked attack that killed inter alia 17 Palestinian children.

The Russian Foreign Ministry followed-up with a statement first posted on its Egyptian Embassy social media accounts. The statement included a screenshot of a tweet Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid posted April 3rd on the claimed killing of civilians in the Ukrainian town of Bucha, attributed by Lapid and the western media to Russian forces. Lapid declared “It is impossible to remain indifferent in the face of the horrific images from the city of Bucha near Kiev, from after the Russian army left. Intentionally harming a civilian population is a war crime and I strongly condemn it.” The Russian post observed how one might “Compare Yair Lapid’s lies about [Ukraine] in April and attempts to place blame and responsibility on [Russia] for the deaths of people in Bucha brutally murdered by the Nazis with his calls in August for bombing and strikes on [Palestinian] land in the Gaza Strip. Isn’t that a double standard, complete disregard and contempt for the lives of Palestinians?”

Jon Solomon’s Just the News recently obtained a letter between National Archivist Debra Stiedel Wall and Trump’s legal teamshowing Biden’s tacit support for the FBI’s investigation into Trump.

The documents in question had been examined by and temporarily in possession of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) as early as January of 2022, when they “arranged for the transport from the Trump Mar-a-Lago property in Florida to the National Archives of 15 boxes that contained Presidential records, following discussions with President Trump’s representatives in 2021,” according to NBC News.

Then in April, presumably after returning these materials back into Trump’s possession, Wall writes Trump’s defense attorney Evan Corcoran, “In its initial review of materials within those boxes, NARA identified items marked as classified national security information.” Wall then informs Corcoran that the FBI would like access to the documents.Given the supposed sensitivity of the documents, it seems strange that NARA returned them to Trump before completing their review. Cocoran requested time to determine whether Trump intended to exercise executive privilege on specified materials. (the trap was set by he sending them back)

"We have requested the ability to review the documents," Corcoran wrote to both NARA and White House Deputy Counsel on April 29. “We would respectfully request that you restrict access to the documents until we have had the opportunity to review the documents and to consult with President Donald J. Trump so that he may personally make any decision to assert a claim of constitutionally based privilege.”

According to Just the News, “Wall informed Corcoran that she had the blessing of Biden to overrule those privilege claimsand share all materials requested by the DOJ and FBI.”

From the letter: "The Counsel to the President has informed me that, in light of the particular circumstances presented here,President Biden defers to my determination, in consultation with the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel, regarding whether or not I should uphold the former President's purported 'protective assertion of executive privilege,'" Wall wrote. "... I have therefore decided not to honor the former President's 'protective' claim of privilege." (so some low level archivist has the authority to over President's executive privildge?)

Shortly after Wall’s letter was sent, the DOJ issued a subpoena prompting the FBI to visit Mar-a-Lago on June 3 who granted access voluntarily by Trump. The FBI seized a portion of the materials and instructed Trump to lock the remaining boxes in a storage room, an order Trump complied with according to a Fox News source.

A quick reminder that when Hillary Clinton was subpoenaed to produce the contents of her private email server, her response was far from compliant. She denied ever receiving a subpoena, told the FBI she could not locate any of the requested 13 mobile devices, deleted 33,000 emails from her personal server, and joked about all of this publicly! Somehow this behavior did not result in a search warrant and raid of her summer home in Chappaqua, NY.

Can you imagine if Trump had burned the documents after learning of the subpoena and claiming to have ‘misplaced’ them?

Anthony Fauci in Denial: ‘Scientists’ Are Not ‘the Polarizers’

Dr. Anthony Fauci, who announced on Monday that he is conveniently leaving his high profile post in government following the midterm election, iscontinuing to play victim, asserting that “scientists” are not “the polarizers.”

In an interview with Axios, the chief White House medical adviser claimed that it is not he who thrust himself into a controversial spotlight. Rather, it was nothing more than the fact that he was “right in the eye of the hurricane of some very important emerging infectious disease outbreaks.” Throughout all of these diseases, including the Chinese coronavirus, he was simply aiming to “explain [the science] to the American public in a way and a form in a way they can really appreciate.”

While he believes he is replaceable, a boastful Fauci suggested that his replacement should be someone who is “adept at communicating to the public,” as he apparently believes that he is a prime example.

“Stick with the science, and try as best as you can to completely stay out of the political stuff. The political stuff will spill over into what you do … that’s unfortunate. But the scientists themselves must stay out of the politics,” Fauci said of his successor — remarkable advice given Fauci’s penchant for numerous TV appearances and ceremonial pitches, continually relishing in his celebrity status.

Yet, in Fauci’s eyes, he has done nothing wrong, accusing critics of distorting facts — a great irony, given Fauci’s many, many flip-flops throughout the pandemic. “When you have people who distort facts and create unreality and live by conspiracy theories, it isn’t the scientists who are the polarizers,” Fauci said, claiming that he is one of many who sticks “to the facts.”

“If people push back against the science and the evidence and create unreality, that’s the reason for the polarization,” he told Axios.

Notably, Fauci is no stranger to elevating himself and his status, once suggesting that questioning him is akin to questioning science itself.

Despite Fauci’s coming departure, Republican leaders have warned that he will still be subject to questioning on the origins of the virus if and when the GOP takes back the House.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Monday assured that a GOP-led House will “hold him accountable,” and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) assured that Fauci’s resignation “will not prevent a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic.”

Dr. Fauci lost the trust of the American people when his guidance unnecessarily kept schools closed and businesses shut while obscuring questions about his knowledge on the origins of COVID.

House Republicans are asking President Joe Biden to disclose how much American taxpayer money is being used to pay non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to fly border crossers and illegal aliens into the United States.

In January, records from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) revealed that the Biden administration has been flying border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior on domestic commercial flights — allowing them to use arrest warrants and deportation orders as legitimate forms of identification.

From January 2021 to October 2021, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) flew nearly 45,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior. Since Biden took office, TSA officials say almost 1,000 of those arrivals have used arrest warrants and deportation notices as forms of ID to board domestic commercial flights.

Now, a group of House Republicans is demanding Biden’s DHS disclose the number of border crossers and illegal aliens flown into the U.S. interior, the cost to taxpayers, and how much money NGOs have made in facilitating the operation.

“Given the fact that American citizens are constantly being reminded that their IDs will soon need to be REAL ID compliant to board an airplane, it is extremely troubling that TSA is allowing illegal aliens to use nonsecure documents as IDs to board planes,” the Republicans write:

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will have nearly 87,000 new IRS agents due to Joe Biden’s newly signed Inflation Reduction Act, and the IRS will be creating a new centralized office and five subsidiary offices to manage their increasing wealth and power.

Guess who will be in charge of establishing the new centralized office? Nikole Flax, who worked for Lois Lerner during the IRS’ improper targeting of tea party groups during the Obama administration, is in charge of building the office. Flax had numerous meetings in the Obama White House during the IRS targeting program and then she later allegedly suffered a computer crash that supposedly deleted some of her emails. What a joke!

The IRS is training its troops to use deadly force, presumably against American citizens:

“A key part of our efforts will be the creation of a new, centralized office for implementation of all IRS-related provisions. Building off our successes implementing other major legislative bills, the IRA 2022 Transformation & Implementation Office will work across the IRS and oversee our implementation efforts,” wrote Charles Rettig, the commissioner of the IRS, in an email to IRS bureaucrats.

“Given the wide scope of the new legislation, the new office will be supported by five subsidiary offices that will be focused on specific areas: implementation of new tax law provisions, taxpayer services transformation, tax compliance transformation, human capital transformation, and communications and outreach efforts. The new office will work closely with the business units to implement the act, and with IT to align our modernization efforts,” Rettig stated.

So who is Nikole Flax?

In June 2014, I wrote an article headlined “Meet The Seven IRS Employees Whose Computers ‘Crashed.'” In the article, I wrote: “Nikole Flax, former chief of staff to IRS commissioner Steven Miller: Flax was a busy bureaucrat during her tenure at the IRS, where she worked for Lerner in the exempt organizations division among other roles. Flax made 31 visits to the White House between July 12, 2010 and May 8, 2013, according to White House visitor logs. Flax’s visits started in the early days of the IRS targeting program and ended just two days before the IRS scandal broke on May 10, 2013. Flax met twice in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building with Jeanne Lambrew, a top adviser to President Obama who exchanged confidential information on conservative groups with Lerner. Flax previously worked at the Joint Committee on Taxation as a legislative counsel, but left about six years ago, sources told TheDC. Flax attended Louisiana State University. She is married to Ryan H. Flax, a litigation consultant at the Washington firm A2L Consulting and a former intellectual property lawyer at the major D.C. law firm Dickstein Shapiro. The couple live in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Reached by phone, Ryan Flax declined to comment for this report, telling TheDC that he is “not really a part of this [controversy].'”

Earlier this month, the DOJ said Goodlett met Jaynes in his home garage, in May 2020, where they agreed to tell investigators a falsified story. She will be back in court on Nov. 22 for sentencing. The Trump Warrant Had No Legal Basis

A former president’s rights under the Presidential Records Act trump the statutes the FBI cited to justify the Mar-a-Lago raid.

Was the Federal Bureau of Investigation justified in searching Donald Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago? The judge who issued the warrant for Mar-a-Lago has signaled that he is likely to release a redacted version of the affidavit supporting it. But the warrant itself suggests the answer is likely no—the FBI had no legally valid cause for the raid.

The warrant authorized the FBI to seize “all physical documents and records constituting evidence, contraband, fruits of crime, or other items illegally possessed in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§793, 2071, or 1519” (emphasis added). These three criminal statutes all address the possession and handling of materials that contain national-security information, public records or material relevant to an investigation or other matters properly before a federal agency or the courts.
