Formation of 18 Historic Planes Soars Low and Loud Over SoCal on Memorial Day

The formation has 19 designated flyover locations with the operation starting about noon on Monday.

What to Know

Eighteen historic planes will fly over Southern California, starting at noon Monday.

The vintage planes will fly over the Inland Empire, Orange and Los Angeles counties.

The formation will be led by the World War II-era D-Day Doll, a Douglas C-53D manufactured in 1943 to carry paratroopers and cargo.

Eighteen historic planes were in formation over parts of Southern California in a 90-minute Memorial Day salute to veterans and healthcare workers.

D-Day Doll, a Douglas C-53D manufactured in 1943 at the assembly plant in Santa Monica to carry paratroopers and cargo in World War II, led the formation over the Inland Empire, Orange and Los Angeles counties. The formation also featured C-47 transports, T-6 Texans and P-51 Mustangs.

The D-Day Doll and other vintage planes are now based in Riverside at the Commemorative Air Force Inland Empire Wing Operations museum. After flying missions during World War II and then being converted to an airliner, D-Day Doll was acquired and restored by CAF IE Wing Operations in the 1990s.

Branson's Virgin Orbit fails on first rocket launch attempt

The inaugural launch had appeared to be going well until moments after the rocket was dropped from beneath the left wing of the jumbo jet dubbed Cosmic Girl.

“We’ve confirmed a clean release from the aircraft. However, the mission terminated shortly into the flight. Cosmic Girl and our flight crew are safe and returning to base,” Virgin Orbit said in its official Twitter commentary on the launch.

There was no immediate word on what went wrong.

Mike Pence on Social Media Censorship of Conservatives: ‘We’re Just Not Going to Tolerate It’

NORCROSS, Georgia — Vice President Mike Pence told Breitbart News that the Trump administration is “not going to tolerate” social media and big tech companies aiming to silence conservative voices in the 2020 election.

Asked during an exclusive interview on Friday about big tech companies like Twitter, Facebook, Google, and others downplaying conservative voices, Pence said that President Donald Trump has “made it very clear” this type of behavior is unacceptable. Pence’s interview aired on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel.

“Well, the president has made it very clear that we are not going to tolerate censorship on the Internet and social media against conservatives,” Pence said. “We’re just not going to tolerate it.”

The Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend that Trump is mulling creating a panel to review big tech bias against conservatives. The Wall Street Journal’s Alex Leary and John McKinnon wrote.:

President Trump is considering establishing a panel to review complaints of anticonservative bias on social media, according to people familiar with the matter, in a move that would likely draw pushback from technology companies and others. The plans are still under discussion but could include the establishment of a White House-created commission that would examine allegations of online bias and censorship, these people said. The administration could also encourage similar reviews by federal regulatory agencies, such as the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Election Commission, they said.

Pence, in his interview with Breitbart News, made clear conservative media voices are key to the public getting accurate information in this election year. Pence said that given the fact the vast majority of the establishment media has gotten several major stories—from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation to impeachment and more—wrong, the public needs more voices not less to get the truth.

“The great news is there are—in addition to Breitbart—there are great and consistent voices bringing the facts to the American people,” Pence said. “While many in the mainstream media have been after this president, after this administration, since before our inauguration, it’s been that chorus of voices on the Internet that have brought forth the truth and the facts to the American people. Whether it be the whole Mueller investigation or the Russia hoax or whether it be the impeachment that was brought forward and rejected by the Senate, it’s been those voices that’s made a difference for America, and we have every confidence going forward that we’re going to make sure the First Amendment rights of people who cherish freedom and cherish what this president has been able to do for this country are preserved, and I have every confidence that with that great army of conservative thinkers on the Internet we’re going to drive toward a great victory come November.”

Asked also about the recent GOP win in California’s 25th congressional district special election, and if it signals a coming “red wave” in November, Pence first noted that the GOP also had a big win in Wisconsin. Then he noted that he believes he and Trump are headed to a victory in November as well.

California Church Asks US Supreme Court To Intervene In Lockdown Battle After Clinton, Obama Judges Strike Down

A California church and its bishop have asked the US Supreme Court to step in after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down their emergency application to reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic, in defiance of executive orders issued by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Lawyers for the South Bay United Pentecostal Church and Biship Arthur Hodges filed with the USSC after the 9th Circuit panel split 2-1, with Judges Barry Silverman and Jacqueline Nguyen - appointed by Clinton and Obama respectively - wrote in their Friday order "We’re dealing here with a highly contagious and often fatal disease for which there presently is no known cure," adding "In the words of Justice Robert Jackson, if a ‘court does not temper its doctrinaire logic with a little practical wisdom, it will convert the constitutional Bill of Rights into a suicide pact.’"

Apparently a fatality rate below 0.3% counts as 'often fatal,' and it would be a 'suicide pact' to allow people to worship freely while accepting the well-established risks of contracting COVID-19.

The panel's third judge, Trump appointee Daniel Collins, weighed in with an 18-page dissent arguing that Gov. Newsom's orders intrude on religious freedom protected by the First Amendment, according to Politico.

"I do not doubt the importance of the public health objectives that the State puts forth, but the State can accomplish those objectives without resorting to its current inflexible and over-broad ban on religious services," wrote Collins, who noted that the Governor's orders allow many workplaces to open, while religious gatherings remain banned even if they can meet social distancing requirements imposed on other permitted activities.

"By explicitly and categorically assigning all in-person ‘religious services’ to a future Phase 3 — without any express regard to the number of attendees, the size of the space, or the safety protocols followed in such services8 — the State’s Reopening Plan undeniably ‘discriminate[s] on its face’ against ‘religious conduct," Collins continued.

The confused judge who has unconstitutionally inserted himself into the Justice Department’s case against General Flynn made some actions behind the scene that are just as troubling.

Judge Sullivan helped Jim Comey get his speaking gig at Howard University for $100,000.

How much more corruption can America take. The corrupt judge who inserted himself into the General Flynn case, who insinuated the General was a traitor, has a lifestyle that matches his actions in court.

He’s not only famous for his unethical standards and actions in the Flynn trial, he also ordered that deported asylum seekers must be returned to the US.

Judge Sullivan has two sons. Emmett Sullivan Jr., runs a T-shirt company and is married to wife Gayle. They have two children. Junior likes to portray himself as some sort of gangster.

The younger Emmet Sullivan, Jr., made T-shirts for a project labeled “Disruption” for the defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton. This is the same firm Edward Snowden worked for. Sullivan Jr. is a Trump hater, as is exemplified by the T-shirts he makes and wears.

Gayle, Jr’s wife, worked for the firm and claims to be an Executive Assistant. It’s unknown what the contract was for or how much money was made in this venture.

Judge Sullivan is a graduate of Howard University. He is friends with Howard University President Wayne Frederick who was involved with a misappropriation scam at the University in 2016, per CBS News:

Howard University President Wayne Frederick said Wednesday that six people had been fired in Sept. 2017 for allegedly misappropriating funds, but questions still remain one day after an anonymous whistleblower said the financial aid office stole $1 million. A whistleblower named people accused of getting tuition benefits to cover the cost of taking classes while receiving grant money in a Medium post late Tuesday, which has since been removed. CBS also reported that at that time, the University had millions in unpaid tuition:

The Medium post caused an uproar at Howard, which has been dealing with financial troubles in recent years. With an estimated $22 million in uncollected tution in 2017, the university announced to register for classes, all students would have to have a zero balance, or pay one-third of their outstanding bill and be enrolled in a payment plan, according to The Washington Post. The move was especially controversial for the historically black university, and hit low-income students hard.

But at the same time as the challenges with tuition for many of Howard’s students, Judge Sullivan worked with President Frederick to get Jim Comey as a guest speaker for a $100,000 fee. The former FBI Director’s presentation was interrupted numerous times:

“We shall not be moved!” the protesters yelled, fists raised in the air. They also chanted, “No justice, no peace,” and told Comey to “get out” of their “home.”

“I’m only going to speak for 12 minutes,” Comey said in response to the demonstrators. Not a bad deal, $100,000 for 12 minutes of work.

Judge Sullivan is also friends with former Washington D.C. mayor Sharon Pratt. But the most sickening piece of evidence of the Sullivan family being biased towards General Flynn is Judge Sullivan’s daughter in law, Gayle, sharing a post of Hillary Clinton noting General Flynn is under FBI Investigation and to “LOCK HIM UP”.

Houston Fire Dept responded to more than 500 overcrowding complaints Memorial Day weekend, but no citations were issued

HOUSTON — Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner says he is still pushing compliance over punishment in getting the city's bars and clubs to follow capacity limits ordered by the state.

Houston Fire Chief Sam Peña said his investigators responded to over 500 overcrowding complaints during the Memorial Day weekend. He said all of those were handled successfully through voluntary compliance.

On Sunday, Turner vowed to enforce the state’s new 25% capacity limit on bars and clubs. He said his decision is in response to social media videos that showed blatant violations of the rules.

But just a couple days earlier, Mayor Turner had said the city would not be writing citations until they know the state supports them.

The Houston firefighters' union called it a political flip-flop and said HFD inspectors and arson investigators should not be made to be the mayor’s “political enforcers."

“If anyone is saying that the order shouldn’t be enforced— come on, that’s what we said last week, but people are violating, fragrantly violating the orders, and from a public health point of view, it’s important that we maintain control.”

Mayor Turner reiterated this is the governor’s order. He said he’s hopeful the state will support Houston in their enforcement.

The aircraft is an extensively modified C-135. Trump Says He Has A Chance ‘To Break The Deep State,’ Teases New Revelations From Declassification

President Donald Trump on Sunday hailed recent disclosures of information regarding government surveillance of the Trump campaign, saying that it has afforded him a chance to “break” the so-called “deep state.”

In an interview with journalist Sharyl Attkisson, Trump suggested that additional information is going to come out about the surveillance efforts.

“Other things are going to come out, too. And a lot of other things are going to come out, but you don’t even need other things,” he said.

“I would like to see it move much faster,” Trump added.

Trump went on to accuse the “deep state” of trying to derail his presidency through the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.

“If it keeps going the way it’s going, I have a chance to break the deep state,” Trump said.

“It’s a vicious group of people. It’s very bad for our country. And that’s never happened before.”

Trump called former FBI Director James Comey a “dirty cop,” and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe a “bad guy.”

Trump praised Richard Grenell, the acting director of national intelligence, for declassifying and releasing a slew of documents related to investigations of the Trump campaign.

“Richard Grenell is a superstar. He had guts, he had courage to do what he did,” Trump said.

President Trump declared all houses of worship “essential” on Friday during the White House press briefing.

States were to open their churches and synagogues THIS WEEKEND!

Democrat Governor Newsom initially pushed back against Trump, then buckled after enormous pressure and decided to reopen churches…with new authoritarian guidelines.

Newsom believes he has the authority to tell Christians they cannot sing in church.

Newsom is also trying to limit the capacity in places of worship to 25% or 100 people maximum.

Johns Hopkins Death Toll Does NOT Include States’ Downward Adjustments, Ignores Fundamental Flaws in Data

Memorial Day stories in the Associated Press and the New York Times each claim that the U.S. death toll from the Wuhan COVID-19 virus is approaching 100,000.

AP says it’s “nearly 100,000.” The Times, dramatically invoking language reminiscent of the Iraq War, says that “America is fast approaching a grim milestone … of 100,000 lives lost.” The AP directly cites Johns Hopkins’ COVID Dashboard as its data source. The Times also uses the Dashboard’s data, but rarely acknowledges it.

Following these two outlets’ lead, hundreds, if not thousands, of establishment media outlets and leftist platforms act as if the JH Dashboard’s reported death tallies represent the undisputed gospel truth. THEY DO NOT.

Here are three specific known reasons seen recently:

1. As Gateway Pundit noted on May 16, Colorado reduced its reported death count by 278.

2. As GWP noted on Tuesday May 19, New Jersey reduced its death toll by 1,400 at nursing homes from its official tally. The new coronavirus death total for New Jersey’s long-term care (LTC) facilities, which was lowered from 5,700 to 4,295. This funny math was used to make the Democrat state leaders look better as the death toll in the Garden State continued to climb.

3. As The Freedom Foundation in Washington State reported on May 18, the Evergreen State’s “COVID-19 death total is inflated by as much as 13 percent due to state’s practice of counting every person who tests positive for COVID-19 and subsequently dies, even if the death was not caused by COVID-19.” Specifically, “106 (13 percent) deaths involved persons who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 but did not have the virus listed anywhere on their death certificate as either causing or contributing to death.”

It should be obvious that two of these three instances should have led to downward adjustments to state and nationwide death tolls. But the JH Dashboard’s reported death tolls in Colorado, New Jersey and Washington State have increased steadily during the past 10 days without interruption.

Taking a deeper dive into the statistical mess, John Lott and Dr. Timothy Craig Allen published a column on May 16 which demonstrated that “The US is Dramatically Overcounting Coronavirus Deaths.”

Among the specifics:

– The article quoted Illinois’ Director of Public Health, who admitted that “technically even if you died of clear alternative cause, but you had COVID at the same time, it’s still listed as a COVID death.”

– In two of the hardest-hit counties in Michigan, “medical examiners classify any deaths as Coronavirus deaths when the postmortem test is positive. Even people who died in suicides and automobile accidents meet that definition.”

– “The (CDC’s) rules direct them to do this.” Deborah Birx has acknowledged that “if someone dies with COVID-19, we are counting that as a COVID-19 death.” This practice is not consistent with what other countries are doing, nor is it consistent with how CDC told localities to document causes of death before the Chinese virus appeared.

– Beyond that, Lott and Allen note that New York State “is classifying cases as Coronavirus deaths even when postmortem tests have been negative. Despite negative tests, classifications are based on symptoms, even though the symptoms are often very similar to those of the seasonal flu.” Further the CDC has “advise(d) doctors that “it is acceptable to report COVID-19 on a death certificate” even if the virus’s involvement is only “suspected”! In April, apparently encouraged by this guidance, New York State added “3,700 additional people who were presumed to have died of the coronavirus but had never tested positive.” Even without evidence of positive tests, Johns Hopkins added these deaths to its Dashboard.

In his overnight market commentary, Rabobank's Michael Every laid out an interesting hypothesis why markets continue to fade the risk of a serious escalation in tensions between the US and China: "within serious HK money circles there is absolute certainty that the US is now an EU-style paper tiger and has no stomach for a real fight, and that Trump is so beholden to Wall Street that he won’t dare act."

And while Every himself disagrees with this sanguine assessment, saying this stance "captures the self-confidence in Beijing but utterly fails to capture the bipartisan anger in DC, or the fact that both sides are using Beijing as a stick to beat each other with in the 2020 presidential election, or that the US has financial weapons as fearsome as its military, or that the Fed is there to prop up the stock market anyway", he appears to have a point regarding China's "self-confidence."

In an editorial published in China's Global Times, the authors claim that Trump is indeed nothing but a paper tiger and that "US talk of Hong Kong a nothingburger" in response to Beijing's formulation of a national security law. To be sure, the article is filled with the usual jingoist allegations, first claiming that "the US is again leading the Western camp in besieging China" a stance that is driven by the "compression of Western values", resulting from "the rise of emerging markets and developing countries becoming increasingly independent."
