part 2/2
You are watching the drip-drip-drip declassification going on right before your eyes to prepare for the rolling out of the IDENTITY OF THE FLYNN PHONE CALL LEAKER and the fact this person has been the subject of a criminal leak investigation that has run for years.
When the indictment of this Flynn call leaker is unsealed and we learn who it is, we'll also be learning other key information.
We'll learn WHICH US Attorney in which state has been running this leak investigation and we'll learn from the DATES when this investigation started.
The story that indictment is going to tell will actually **embarrass a lot of media people in the Conservative media, but that's going to be their own fault.
And I'm going to be very vocal about demanding apologies.
Not for myself but for the people relentlessly slandered.
ADDENDUM I: How many of you figured out yet what Wray’s announcement really means? Why JENSEN is repeatedly mentioned in it?
Put your thinking cap on.
Remember the recent history.
What did Barr recently use Jensen to do?
Barr QUIETLY appointed Jensen to be a Special Prosecutor and...what happened next, anybody remember?
Anybody at all?
What was Jensen DOING from January to early this month?
What TASK was he assigned and where did he have to go to fulfill that assignment?
Did he accomplish that task? Was he successful or was it just for show?
All you people saying Wray’s announcement yesterday means nothing are wrong.
And now I’ll explain why.
Trump, Barr, Grenell (now Ratcliffe) and Jensen are not playing here.
It’s not a just an act being put on to make it look like something is happening.
It’s 100% real.
To those who FORGOT already:
Barr sent Jensen into the Washington DC US Attorney’s Office to FIND THE EVIDENCE the Mueller Special Counsel had been HIDING from Flynn & the Court.
That’s WHY the DOJ moved to drop the case.
Jensen went into the DC USA’s office knowing what he was looking for, he found it, told Barr he was successful, that he’d found the documents.
Barr then declassified them & had Jensen give them to Sidney Powell under seal.
Those docs were then unsealed. All hell broke loose.
You FORGOT how this happened already?
If so, Hell yes you’re going to be telling yourself Barr sending Jensen into the FBI’s 7th floor is just for show.
Nothing will happen.
Jensen will fail.
Well you’re wrong and I’m right.
Once again, Jensen will SUCCEED.
Jensen is being sent into the FBI’s 7th floor for one purpose:
Bring out the evidence of who the Flynn phone call leaker is.
That’s where this is inevitably headed next.
Wray was appointed by Trump. Wray still has this job because Trump hasn’t fired him yet.
You keep listening to narratives told by surface skaters who at best think Trump is a timid guy who’s not all that bright.
Every agency is now knee deep in Trump appointees at the top.
So you are basically being told narratives about massive blatant cover ups being run out of the DOJ & the FBI by top people Trump appointed himself that he won’t or can’t fire.
The great thing about this is I’m right and they are wrong.
Trump actually ISN’T clueless or timid.

A little background on the speaker
Jailed Former Russian Intelligence Officer Kvachkov To Be Released
February 07, 2019 11:56 GMT
A jailed former Russian intelligence officer's conviction for incitement of hatred has been annulled after the extremism article in the Criminal Code was partially decriminalized.
A court in the Russian region of Mordovia said on February 7 that the motion by Vladimir Kvachkov's lawyer to cancel the conviction due to the amendment to the extremism-related article in the Criminal Code had been satisfied.
Lawyer Andrei Vikanov told the Mediazona news portal that his client will be most likely released on February 19.
In late December, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that removed the possibility of a prison sentence for first-time offenders found to have incited ethnic, religious, and other forms of hatred and discord in public, including in the media or on the Internet.
Kvachkov was initially arrested in December 2010 and sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2013 after a court in Moscow found him guilty of creating a terrorist group and plotting to overthrow the government. The term was later cut to eight years.
In August 2017, Kvachkov was found guilty of inciting hatred and handed down an additional two years in prison in August 2017.
The additional conviction stemmed from a video in which Kvachkov was calling for the government to be toppled and which was smuggled out of the prison.
Earlier in 2005, Kvachkov was arrested for allegedly planning to murder former Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Chubais. He was acquitted on that charge twice, in 2008 and 2010.

Update on Nunes suit v. CNN from UndercoverHuber
Bottom line is Nunes erred in not requesting retraction to false story within 20 days, may be limited in damages and may have to refile amended complaint. Nunes did not dot every i and cross every T.
CNN seemed to 'skillfully' misreport to harm Nues, but covered it very well.
Parnas lawyer seems to have lied to CNN, who then reported the lie (all too common huh?)
Huber says not looking real good.
My opinion is this:
The fact that Parnas lawyer lied is now in court records because CNN stated they reported what Parnas said.
If Durham, etal, are looking into collusion there exists here a trail, Parnas was a good guy me thinks and like MF with his intial law firm, the lawyers are comped.
A pattern on lawyers working for DS and against their clients is emerging and that is a Real Problem!
So I am hoping a greater conspiracy is revealed.
So perhaps this was THE PLAN to begin with?
CNN request honored to move venue to SDNY.

US ‘will be IN TROUBLE’ if it makes ‘MISTAKE’ of interfering with Venezuela-bound tankers, Rouhani warns
The United States will face consequences if it takes action against Iranian tankers en route to Venezuela, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has vowed. It comes after the Venezuelan military said it would escort the ships to port.
“If our tankers in the Caribbean or anywhere in the world face trouble caused by the Americans, they [the United States] will also be in trouble,” Rouhani told Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during a telephone conversation, Tasnim News reported.
He stressed that his country is not interested in escalation but would take necessary action to defend its sovereignty and safeguard its national interests. “We hope the Americans will not make a mistake,” he explained to Qatar’s head of state.
Five tankers transporting 1.5 million barrels of Iranian fuel to Venezuela are currently near the Caribbean, with the first ship scheduled to reach the country’s territorial waters by Sunday.

US tech giants still doing business with blacklisted Chinese companies, research firm claims
American behemoths such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft are providing web services to Chinese companies included in the infamous US Entity List, according to UK-based tech research firm Top10VPN.
“Despite the Trump administration’s efforts to decouple the American and Chinese technology sectors, the continued presence of American companies in more discreet settings shows that cooperation between the two remains,” the company, which specializes in digital privacy and security, said in a recent report.
Top10VPN alleges that the big tech provided the “core web services” required to power websites, including web and email hosting, and also content delivery networks (CDNs) that allow a user to download data faster. The services were provided not only for the blacklisted Chinese “surveillance” firms, but for “other highly controversial surveillance companies around the world,” too.

https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2020/05/22/ex-hollywood-exec-william-sadleir-arrested-for-stealing-1-7m-in-covid-19-relief/
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – A Beverly Hills man and the founder of independent Hollywood film distribution company Aviron Pictures was arrested Friday by the FBI on allegations that he fraudulently received $1.7 million through the federal government’s paycheck protection program.
William Sadleir, 66, allegedly applied for and received the money on behalf of Aviron Pictures, even though he was fired from the company in late 2019.
According to the Justice Department, Sadleir received three different PPP loans worth a total of $1.7 million for three different Aviron entities.
Within days of the loans being approved by JPMorgan Chase and wired, about $1 million were then diverted into Sadleir’s personal accounts, which he used to pay off credit cards, car loans and for other personal expenses for himself and his wife, the U.S. Attorney’s Office reports.
He is also facing separate federal charges out of New York on allegations he stole $30 million from an investor while he was with Aviron Pictures, according to Variety.

Putin orders support for Russia's oil industry amid OPEC+ cuts
Russian President Vladimir Putin gave his government until June 15 to come up with a plan to support the country’s oil industry while output is slashed under an agreement among the world’s main producers. Putin ordered ministers to work out “special rates” that pipeline operator Transneft PJSC and Russian Railways JSC will charge for transporting crude and petroleum products while the OPEC+ agreement is in effect, according to a document published on the Kremlin website. Igor Sechin, chief executive officer of Rosneft PJSC, Russia’s biggest oil producer, has called for an adjustment of transportation rates to bring them into line with market prices.
Large oilfield servicing companies could also be included in the government’s list of systemically important companies, making them eligible for state support. As output falls, orders for servicing companies may fall as much as 40 per cent, and even more in some cases, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told Putin last month. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and other producers including Russia agreed last month to cut global crude output by nearly a tenth in a bid to lift oil prices from almost 20-year lows. Russia and Saudi Arabia will bear the brunt of the production restraints, which are set to last for about two years, though the size of the cuts will be reduced over time.
Novak said on May 18 that the country would “move ahead fully in line with the deal” reached on output cuts. His comments signaled that Russia will likely push for strict adherence to the terms of the agreement when oil-producing countries convene next month to discuss the progress of the curbs. Oil companies shouldn’t be sanctioned for falling below production targets set out in plans for oilfield development while the OPEC+ agreement is in effect, according to the Kremlin document, which sets out a list of instructions following a meeting late last month on the development of the energy sector.

Hotly contested NM red flag gun law takes effect
When New Mexico lawmakers approved a temporary firearm seizure bill in February, they had little idea it would take effect during a pandemic.
Despite the upheaval caused by the coronavirus outbreak, the Extreme Risk Firearm Protection Order Act – or red flag gun law – is one of 46 new state laws that take effect Wednesday.
While some law enforcement agencies have been researching the law and developing plans for its implementation, at least one county sheriff said there’s been a lack of guidance from the state’s judicial branch.
“Once again, New Mexico has passed a law but given no direction” on how it should be applied, San Juan County Sheriff Shane Ferrari said. The sheriff said he received three calls Tuesday from other law enforcement officers seeking more clarity about the red flag gun law.
However, Rep. Joy Garratt, D-Albuquerque, who co-sponsored this year’s bill, said Tuesday that she has been impressed by the amount of groundwork done and believes most law enforcement officials will abide by the new law. She also predicted it will be used rarely.

Not sure why the CDC says "new coronavirus". Birx used the phrase, "influenza-like" at the press conference yesterday.
"About a third of coronavirus cases are asymptomatic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in guidance for mathematical modelers and public health officials. The "current best estimate" for the percent of positive cases that are asymptomatic is 35%, but the CDC says that number could change as more data becomes available.
The CDC says the new coronavirus can be transmitted by people who have not yet experienced symptoms or who never experience symtoms."
msn.com/en-us/news/us/coronavirus-live-updates-trump-calls-for-houses-of-worship-to-open-cdc-says-in-35percent-of-cases-patients-have-no-symptoms/ar-BB14sdOB
"“Influenza-like illness” (ILI), also called “flu-like illness,” is a more wide-ranging category. The CDC says that with ILI, you have a fever of at least 100 F and a cough or sore throat, but the cause of the symptoms isn’t known.
The flu is diagnosed from a swab test of your nose or throat. Flu-like illness is a clinical diagnosis, meaning it doesn’t involve an official test. A doctor simply decides by examining you."

Washington officials admit to counting gunshot victims as COVID-19 deaths
Washington epidemiologists have admitted that multiple victims of gunshot wounds who had also been diagnosed with coronavirus have been counted as COVID-19 deaths, although they say deaths from the virus are still likely being undercounted in the state.
Epidemiologists with the Washington State Department of Health said that the "number of nuances" in coronavirus data makes it difficult to render a quick assessment in the cause of death. The state is currently counting anyone that dies with COVID-19 in its death toll.
"We currently do have some deaths that are being reported that are clearly from other causes. We have about 5 deaths less than 5 deaths that we know of that are related to obvious other causes. In this case, they are from gunshot wounds," said Dr. Katie Hutchison, Health Statistics Manager for the Washington State Department of Health.

The sentiment last night was this tweet was a message to look in to Tommy Tuberville. However moar interesting is the link he used for Tuberville's fundraising activities. The website: winred.com, doesn't seem like much when you first look at it, but it's what isn't there that caught my eye.
''
Digging it appears the GOP announced in June 2019 WINRED as a online donation vehicle, to work against the Dem's ACT BLUE. See: (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/gop-launches-winred-in-attempt-to-maximize-online-donations)
From this article you can see a site was created for POTUS, However there is an interesting disclaimer. See: (https://secure.winred.com/tmagac/contribute) Disclamiers: Paid for by WinRed. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee. WinRed.com. Contributions to WinRed are not deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes. Who created WINRED? It turns out this site is registered to Google it is also registered in Canada. (https://www.whois.com/whois/winred.com)
What we have here is someone who created a FAKE Fundraising site in Canada profiting of American Candidates in the name of fundraising for their respective campaigns. Question is where is this money going?

partial building collapse on the southern part of the pier,
San Francisco firefighters are battling a four-alarm warehouse fire Saturday on Pier 45, the city’s fire department says.
A quarter of the pier at Fisherman’s Wharf “has been lost to the flames,” according to the San Francisco Fire Department PIO.
No injuries have been reported. The pier has been fully evacuated, the department says.
Flames could be seen in the early morning darkness in photos tweeted by Dan Whaley.
The blaze fire was first reported at 4:17 a.m. local time (7:17 a.m. ET) and has been contained to a section of the pier.
The Fire Department tweeted a link to live updates.
Officers report the fire caused a partial building collapse on the southern part of the pier, spread to two buildings on the pier and is in danger of spreading to a third, the Fire Department says.
There is no word yet of a cause.

A major fire early Saturday morning destroyed a fish processing and storage warehouse at San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf and for a time threatened part of the popular tourist area.
Flames from the blaze shot more than 40 feet in air and billows of black smoke shrouded the waterfront as 150 firefighters with 50 trucks and other pieces of equipment fought the fire on Pier 45, next to the SS Jeremiah O’Brien, the last of the World War II liberty ships.
The pier was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Fire Department Lt. Jonathan Baxter said that as of 8:30 a.m. the fire was still active but was no longer in danger of spreading. The walls of the warehouse collapsed, he added, and firefighters were pouring water on the remaining hot spots.
There were a number of workers in the warehouse when the blaze broke out.
Lloyd Dizon, a sales person for Aloha Seafood, was taking orders when the fire began, shortly after 4 a.m.
“It started like a little thing, then the whole structure started,” he said. “A few seconds later, the building started caving in.”
Other workers reported an explosion before the fire began.
Alejandro Arellano, who works for La Rocca Seafood, was cleaning out a fish storage locker.
“I saw a lot of smoke. A few minutes later, fire everywhere,” he said. “It was very, very scary. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Hours after the fire broke out, about two dozen workers from the warehouse, many still wearing their yellow fish-processing aprons, gathered behind Alioto’s restaurant to watch firefighters pour water on the collapsed shed. They showed each other cell phone pictures they had taken of the fire and wondered when and how they will be going back to work.
The streets around the pier were almost paved with yellow hoses, some stretching for as many as four blocks to a hydrant at Beach and Taylor streets. Firefighters from at least a dozen trucks were spraying water on the blaze, with three ladder trucks drenching the warehouse from at least 50 feet above.
The first call came at 4:15 a.m. Truck 13 from the Sansome Street station in the Financial District was the first on the scene, and fast action by its crew prevented the fire from spreading, Baxter said.
The truck company nearly paid a heavy price. Flames from the blaze rolled out and singed the truck, forcing firefighters to turn their hoses on the vehicle to save it, Baxter said. The truck was slightly damaged, but no people were hurt.
The blaze was confined to the north end of the pier, well away from the Musée Mécanique and its historic arcade games and the restaurants and other businesses in the popular tourist area.

Kenny Belov, owner of TwoXSea, a sustainable seafood wholesaler in a building only about 50 feet from the warehouse, learned of the fire in a phone call from one of his employees about 4:45 a.m. Then his plant manager sent a video taken on the loading dock facing the fire.
“Just breathtaking,” Belov said. “It was this massive blaze.”
Five of Belov’s employees were in the building at the time, he said, and they all evacuated safely. There was no damage to TwoXSea “as far as I know,” he added.
Belov estimated that hundreds of vehicles typically are parked in the warehouse, mostly a mix of employees’ cars and delivery trucks.
He acknowledged the crazy timing of the fire, atop the closure of restaurants caused by the coronavirus pandemic and shelter-in-place orders. Belov abruptly pivoted his business to home delivery, and he had several deliveries scheduled Saturday that wouldn’t be going out.
He also was worried a prolonged power outage could ruin the fish in his deep freezer.
“Not that it would ever need this, but the seafood industry didn’t need this now,” Belov said. “It’s surreal. We’ve obviously had a tough go the last couple months, with restaurants (closed). … Of all the problems in the world, this is not a big one. But it’s frustrating.”
The offices of the Red and White Fleet, a bay tour company, also were destroyed, fire officials said.
Thick black smoke rolled over the bay from the blaze, which at its height sent flames climbing into the sky in the pre-dawn darkness. Even as firefighters brought the blaze under control, a thick pall of choking smoke hung over the waterfront.
Department fireboats were used to fight the blaze. Coast Guard and police marine units also were assisting, keeping other vessels from the area.
The fireboat St. Francis was used to protect the liberty ship.
“Aggressive, quick and swift action saved the Jeremiah O’Brien,” Baxter said. Minor paint bubbling from the heat was the only apparent damage to the ship.
The warehouse, which is near the end of the concrete pier, holds fish processing equipment as well as hundreds of crab pots.
Traffic has been blocked at Taylor Street and Jefferson Street. Heavy smoke, visible across the city, hung over the area.

Smithfield Foods
Smithfield Foods, Inc., is a meat-processing company based in Smithfield, Virginia, in the United States, and a wholly owned subsidiary of WH Group of China.[a] Founded in 1936 as the Smithfield Packing Company by Joseph W. Luter and his son, the company is the largest pig and pork producer in the world.[5] In addition to owning over 500 farms in the US, Smithfield contracts with another 2,000 independent farms around the country to grow Smithfield's pigs.[6] Outside the US, the company has facilities in Mexico, Poland, Romania, Germany, and the United Kingdom.[7] Globally the company employed 50,200 in 2016 and reported an annual revenue of $14 billion.[3] Its 973,000-square-foot meat-processing plant in Tar Heel, North Carolina, was said in 2000 to be the world's largest, processing 32,000 pigs a day.[8]
Then known as Shuanghui Group, WH Group purchased Smithfield Foods in 2013 for $4.72 billion.[9][10] It was the largest Chinese acquisition of an American company to date.[11] The acquisition of Smithfield's 146,000 acres of land made WH Group, headquartered in Luohe, Henan province, one of the largest overseas owners of American farmland.[b]
Smithfield Foods began its growth in 1981 with the purchase of Gwaltney of Smithfield,[13] followed by the acquisition of nearly 40 companies between then and 2008, including Eckrich; Farmland Foods of Kansas City; John Morrell; Murphy Family Farms of North Carolina; Circle Four Farms of Utah; and Premium Standard Farms.[14] The company was able to grow as a result of its highly industrialized pig production, confining thousands of pigs in large barns known as concentrated animal feeding operations, and controlling the animals' development from conception to packing.[8]

WH Group
WH Group (Chinese: 万洲国际; pinyin: Wànzhōu Guójì), formerly known as Shuanghui Group (Chinese: 双汇集团; pinyin: Shuānghuì Jítuán),[4] is a publicly traded Chinese meat and food processing company headquartered in Hong Kong.[1][5] Sometimes also known as Shineway Group in English-speaking countries, the company's businesses include hog raising, consumer meat products, flavoring products, and logistics.[6] It is the largest pork producer in the world,[5] and the largest meat producer in China.[7]
Wan Long, nicknamed China's "number one butcher" because of the large number of pigs the company slaughters, is the chairman and chief executive officer of WH Group.[2] Kenneth M. Sullivan, the president and chief executive officer of Smithfield Foods, became an executive director of WH Group in January 2016.[10]

Kenneth Sullivan
Kenneth Marc Sullivan is an American businessman, and the CEO and president of Smithfield Foods, the world's largest pig and pork producer.
Sullivan earned a bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.[1]
Sullivan has been CEO and president of Smithfield Foods since December 2015.[1] He has been a director of Smithfield Foods and its Chinese parent company WH Group since January 2016.[1]
The Smithfield pork processing facility in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the US's largest single source of COVID-19 cases, closed on April 15, and Sullivan wants it to re-open as soon as possible, "For the security of our nation, I cannot understate how critical it is for our industry to continue to operate unabated".[2] On April 16, 2020, the Wall Street Journal reported Sullivan's statement, "The right thing for Americans is that we operate these plants".[3]

As of March 2015, CDH manages over RMB 100 billion of investor capital across its various investment platforms.
Founded in 2002, CDH is a diversified alternative asset manager covering private equity, venture capital, mezzanine, real estate, and wealth management.[3] Its investor base includes sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurers, endowments, family offices and fund of funds from China, North & South America, Europe, Middle East, Australia and Asia.
CDH invests across industries including information technology, media, modern services, innovative engineering technology, telecommunication technology and services, new media, industrial manufacturing, education, finance, fast growing high-tech and services, energy, clean technology, healthcare, medical, retail, consumer product and services, and agricultural industry.[4]
Since inception, CDH has invested in or acquired hundreds of companies including Hang Seng Electronics, Mengniu Dairy,[5] Li-Ning, Focus Media, Yurun Food, Yongle, China Merchants Bank, Belle International, LDK, AirMedia, CNInsure, Joyoung, Shanshui Cement, Modern Dairy, Hanting Hotel, Kanghui Medical, TSL Jewelry, M&G Stationery,[6] Xueda Education, Qihoo 360, Midea, WH Group,[7] Luye Pharma, Nanfu Battery,[8] and Baroque Japan Limited.[9]
CDH is headquartered at Fortune Financial Center, 5 Dongsanhuan Central Road, Beijing, China, with additional offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Jakarta.
In 1992, Wu Shangzhi, then Senior Investment Officer at the World Bank Group's Direct Investment Division, decided to establish an investment firm in China. He approached GIC with a fund raising proposal. Instead of considering an equity commitment, GIC suggested Wu to join China International Capital Corporation, an investment bank that GIC was involved in the preparatory work related to the firm's establishment at that point. Wu led the direct investment business at China International Capital Corporation until it was split off by the firm in 2001, when China Securities Regulatory Commission prohibited investment bank from doing private equity investment.[10]
In 2002, CDH was established with six founding partners including Wu Shangzhi and Jiao Zhen, who had worked together at China International Capital Corporation's Direct Investment Division since 1995. Other shareholders include GIC, China National Investment & Guaranty Co Ltd, and Capital Z Partners.[11] CDH have kept all the six founding partners within the firm to this day,[6] despite famously losing its head of venture capital, Wang Gongquan, who ran away with his mistress.[12][13]
In 2003, CDH raised only $102 million for its first standalone fund, but quickly found its way into a series of successful China deals, including stakes in sportswear company Li-Ning, display advertising firm Focus Media and Mengniu Dairy. That first fund returned around 3.5 times its investors' money, according to data seen by Reuters, making it one of the top performing funds in China, and enabling it to raise capital for a series of bigger funds.[12]
In 2006, CDH and Goldman Sachs invested $256 million in a controlling stake in a struggling meat producer, then known as Shuanghui Group, along with Temasek and New Horizon Capital.[14] That buyout deal, one of the first of its kind in China, sparked controversy as opponents claimed the country was selling assets too cheaply to foreign investors. Goldman sold half its stake back to CDH in 2009 for five times what it originally paid.[15]
CDH's performance attracted large institutional investors into its funds, including California Public Employees' Retirement System and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. 75 percent of CDH's private equity funds now come from international investors.[12] With a target cap at $2 billion, CDH's fifth USD PE fund was closed at a hard cap of $2.5 billion due to over-subscription.[16]

Not sure, but the location of this company might be near those early Q drops with the windows of a tall building in China.

California Public Employees' Retirement System
The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is an agency in the California executive branch that "manages pension and health benefits for more than 1.6 million California public employees, retirees, and their families".[3][4] In fiscal year 2012–13, CalPERS paid over $12.7 billion in retirement benefits,[5] and in fiscal year 2013 it is estimated that CalPERS will pay over $7.5 billion in health benefits.[6]
As of June 30, 2014, CalPERS managed the largest public pension fund in the United States, with $300.3 billion in assets.[3] CalPERS is known for its shareholder activism; stocks placed on its "Focus List" may perform better than other stocks, which has given rise to the term "CalPERS effect".[7] Outside the U.S., CalPERS has been called "a recognized global leader in the investment industry",[8] and "one of America's most powerful shareholder bodies".[9]
As of 2018, the agency has $360 billion in assets, and is underfunded by an estimated $150 billion, with current assets below 70% of necessary to provide for liabilities.[10][11] In an effort to reduce this shortfall, at the end of 2016 the board lowered their expected annual rate of return on investments from 7.5% to 7.0%, increasing the costs California cities must pay toward their workers' pensions.[12]

About 2 weeks ago Anon posted about CA Controller/CalPERS Board member Yee may have traveled to China Oct2019. No confirmation of a trip but diggz show association with China investments. From note:
Yee may have traveled to China to discuss climate change emissions policy? LA Times article discusses the “impact” of climate change and emissions effecting the CalPERS pension fund. LA Times article references Yee but does not mention any trip (excerpt below). Another article posted Oct 21, 2019 by National Policy and Legal Center discusses “Climate Action 100” and Betty Yee a prime mover in the policy, second excerpt below.
LA Times Excerpt:
“That would happen faster than the fund would be able to react,” said Steven Feit, an attorney at the Center for International Environmental Law, which backed SB 964. And it’s exactly “the kind of thing that pension funds should be protecting against,” he said.
When questioned by State Controller Betty Yee on Monday, CalPERS’ Beth Richtman disclosed that she did have estimates for Scope 3 emissions, but that they were not included in the draft report because the figures were considered unreliable and probably included duplicate emissions.
For instance, tailpipe emissions from cars would qualify as Scope 3 emissions for both automakers and oil producers, and would be counted twice if CalPERS held investments in both, said Richtman, the agency’s managing investments director for sustainable investments.
Richtman said that the Scope 3 emissions for CalPERS’ portfolio totaled 58 million to 68 million tons of carbon dioxide per year — about as much as the annual emissions from Finland.
under “Scope 3 Emissions.”
Climate change threatens billions in CalPERS pension fund
(LA Times Dec 19 2019)
https://www.latimes.com/environment/story/2019-12-19/climate-change-threatens-billions-in-calpers-pension-fund
NPLC excerpt 1:
Climate change activists are also investors. And they are using their equity positions to coax corporations into becoming activists themselves. Climate Action 100+, or CA 100+, is leading the way. This network of progressive investors, managed by a steering committee of five organizations including Ceres and UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), officially coalesced at the Planet One Summit in Paris in December 2017, a follow-up to the Paris Agreement of 2015. Now comprising around 370 institutional investors across dozens of countries, Climate Action 100+ now effectively controls more than $35 trillion in assets. And it’s flexing its muscles.
To be part of the Climate Change 100+ mission, an equity fund, university or other institutional investor must commit itself to investing in companies that sign commitments to reduce their carbon footprint. An initial 100 business enterprises signed on, and another 61 followed. Expect the total to keep rising.
Climate Action’s main goal, pursuant to the Paris Agreement, is limiting global average temperature to “well below” 2 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels. In addition, the group encourages corporations to comply with the 2015 pact’s “20/20/20” targets – a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 20 percent, an increase of market share of renewable energy to 20 percent and an increase in energy efficiency by 20 percent. In its own words, Climate Action seeks to “engage with the world’s largest greenhouse gas emitters to curb emissions, strengthen climate-related disclosures and improve governance on climate change.” The group emphasizes “working with the companies in which we invest.” Such language suggests divestment from any company not on board. With fossil fuel producers, it’s been more than a suggestion.
NCSL excerpt 2:
The prime mover behind Climate Action, California State Controller Betty Yee (in photo), is uniquely positioned to extract commitments from target companies. In addition to being the state’s chief fiscal officer, she’s also a board member of the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) and Ceres. “With trillions of dollars under management globally, we can demand accountability from the largest corporate greenhouse gas emitters and hold governments responsible for the impact of their decisions,” she told a Global Climate Change Summit in San Francisco a year ago.

Moar on CalPERS
Governor Pete Wilson
In 1990, fund value reached $49.8 billion.[18] In July 1991, Governor Pete Wilson addressed the state's $14.3 billion budget deficit by removing $1.6 billion from the pension fund.[19] Wilson further sought to give the governor's office control of the PERS’ actuarial projections and the appointment of a majority of its board of directors.[19] Public employee unions responded by seeking an amendment to the Constitution of California that would guarantee the board's independence, remove the fund's duty to minimize contributions or administrative costs, and require the provision of benefits to “take precedence over any other duty.”[19] The initiative, known as Proposition 162, passed by a single percent at the November California elections, 1992.[19] Proposition 162, also known as the "California Pension Protection Act of 1992," gave the PERS board "the sole and exclusive fiduciary responsibility over the assets of" PERS.[16][20]
To avoid confusion with public employees' retirement systems in other states, the organization's name was changed to "CalPERS" in 1992.[15] By 1996, the CalPERS portfolio was worth $100 billion, and the number of members exceeded 1 million.[15]
Governor Gray Davis
In 1999, fund value reached $159.1 billion, requiring $159 million in state tax dollar contributions.[18] In 1999, the CalPERS board proposed a benefits expansion that would allow public employees to retire at age 55 and collect more than half their highest salary for life.[18] CalPERS predicted the benefits would require no increase in the State's contributions by projecting an average annual return of 8.25% over the next decade.[18] When Board member Phil Angelides’ aide questioned whether the stock market could grow that long, Board Chairman William Crist, a former union president, replied that they “could make all sorts of different assumptions and make predictions, but that’s really more than I think we can expect our staff to do.”[18] CalPERS' chief actuary, objected, finding that it would be “fairly catastrophic” if the fund only grew at 4.4%.[18]
The benefits expansion bill, SB 400, passed with unanimous backing by California State Assembly Democrats and was signed into law by Governor Gray Davis.[18] CalPERS then produced a video promoting the legislation with Chairman Crist promising greater benefits “without imposing any additional cost on the taxpayers” and the California State Employees Association president praising it as “the biggest thing since sliced bread”.[18]
The next year the dot-com bubble burst, and CalPERS did not grow, instead losing value in the stock market downturn of 2002.[18] In 2001-2002, CalPERS provided technical assistance for the Sarbanes-Oxley Act because it had sustained financial losses from the Enron and WorldCom bankruptcies.[15] After the Great Recession, in 2009 CalPERS investments lost 24%, dropping $67 billion in value.[18] Chairman Crist retired from the board and it was later revealed he had accepted more than $800,000 from a firm to ensure hundreds of millions of investment from CalPERS.[18]
In November 2005, CalPERS expanded its headquarters with the 560,000-square-foot (52,000 m2) "Lincoln Plaza East & West" buildings which cost $265 million.[21][22] The architecture of the buildings, which received praise, includes an entry tower 90 feet (27 m) high in a shape reminiscent of a tree which is made of steel covered with glass.[22] The project was awarded a Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating.[23]
Governor Jerry Brown
In 2012, Governor Jerry Brown signed legislation that reduced benefits for all new state employees and sought to combat pension spiking.[24] Legislators rejected Governor Brown's proposals to include a 401(k) type defined contribution plan and to require CalPERS Board members to be independent, not themselves pensioners.[24] Governor Brown promoted the reform as the “biggest rollback to public pension benefits in the history of California”, but it only resulted in a 1% to 5% reduction in contribution increases.[24] Total savings from the reform are estimated to be $28 to $38 billion.[24]
In the fall of 2014, CalPERS named Ted Eliopoulos as chief investment officer. He won the #2 ranking in the Public Investor 100 for 2016.[25] Blackstone Group LP announced in November 2015 that it would acquire 43 international and domestic real estate funds from CalPERS for $3 billion.[26]
In 2016, CalPERS fund value reached $295.1 billion.[18] State tax dollar contributions have had to increase to $45 billion, a 3,000% increase from before the 1999 benefits expansion.[18] Promised benefits exceeded funds available by $241.3 billion.[27] Unfunded retiree healthcare costs add an additional $125 billion to California's public retirement debt.[27]

CalPERS is overseen by a 13-member Board of Administration whose members are elected, appointed, or ex officio:[32]
Six are elected from CalPERS members (two by all CalPERS members, one by active State members, one by active CalPERS school members, one by active CalPERS public agency members, and one by retired members of CalPERS)
Three are appointed (two by the Governor, one by specified leaders of the Legislature)
Four are ex officio (California State Treasurer, California State Controller, Director of the California Department of Human Resources, and designee of the California State Personnel Board)
Notable past Board members have included Caspar Weinberger (1967–1969), Jesse Unruh (1983–1987), Gray Davis (1986–1994), Matt Fong (1995–1998), Kathleen Connell (1995–2003), Phil Angelides (1999–2006), Willie Brown (2000–2005), and Steve Westly (2003–2006).[15]
As of 2017, the current Board members are Rob Feckner (President), Priya Sara Mathur, Michael Bilbrey, John Chiang, Richard Costigan, Richard Gillihan, JJ Jelincic, Henry Jones (Vice President), Ron Lind, Betty Yee, Bill Slaton, Teresa Taylor and Dana Hollinger.[33]
Between 1999 and 2001, several conflicts among Board members were notable:
In 1999, after Board member Phil Angelides (also state treasurer) criticized a statement in a report, Board chairman Charles Valdes said about Angelides "What we have here is a Greek treasurer who doesn't like Turkey, the country; who doesn't like Turks, who is trying to … drive our policy according to those ethnic hatreds".[34] Angelides responded that he was "do[ing] what is best for the state".[34] Valdes later apologized for the remarks.[35]
Board member Kathleen Connell (also state controller) sued CalPERS in January 2001 to limit its investment managers' pay.[36] Although CalPERS argued that the higher salaries were necessary to compete for qualified investment managers and that CalPERS had the authority under Proposition 162 to issue the higher salaries,[36] it lost the lawsuit, which "helped prompt the fund's chief investment officer to quit".[35]
Valdes endorsed a lawsuit against the Board's proposal to change its election procedures to require a majority vote (not simply a plurality vote) for Board seats chosen by CalPERS members.[35]
In response to such conflicts, the Board took various measures (e.g., it adopted a "document of collegiality" in October 2001).[35]
Other controversies have affected the Board, such as:
In 1998, it was discovered that several Board members were "taking expense-paid trips and other gifts from people trying to do business with" CalPERS.[37]
Articles in 2002–03 issues of BusinessWeek[38] and The Wall Street Journal[39] noted cronyism and conflicts of interest among Board members.
A president of the Board, Sean Harrigan, was removed from his position in December 2004 amid criticism for his activism on matters of corporate governance.[40] He claimed his removal was politically motivated.[41][42]
In September 2014, California's State controller, John Chiang criticized the fund for "passive" approach towards pension spiking - a practice of inflating workers' benefits just before retirement in order to boost their pensions- and failing to adequately review payroll data, inviting abuse.[43]

IS PRES. XI FACING DEFECTIONS FROM HOUSE DEMS?
We conventionally think of Congressional Dems as Xi's puppets, and for good reason, but what explains their voting on the right side of history with these two bills?
1) S.1838 - Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019 (became law 11/27/2019)
2) S.1678 - Taiwan Allies International Protection and Enhancement Initiative (TAIPEI) Act of 2019 (became law 3/26/2020)
Has POTUS given assurances to most Congressional Dems that their blackmail tapes will be kept secret and that they'll escape military tribunals so long as they take the USA's side in the building war against China?
I'm frankly surprised more Dems didn't stand with Xi against HK and Taiwan on these votes. I'd have expected them to. Just trying to understand the situation here.

Trump mulls forming panel to investigate anti-conservative bias on social media: report
President Trump is considering creating a panel to oversee complaints of bias against conservatives by social media platforms in a move that would likely spark pushback from tech companies.
The plans are still being mulled, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal, but options could include the creation of a formal White House commission on the allegations.
"Left-wing bias in the tech world is a concern that definitely needs to be addressed from our vantage point, and at least exposed [so] that Americans have clear eyes about what we're dealing with," a White House official told The Journal.
Trump has repeatedly railed against social media companies over allegations that they suppress conservative voices, an accusation the platforms protest.
The president accused platforms in 2019 of "tremendous dishonesty, bias, discrimination and suppression practiced by certain companies."
"We will not let them get away with it much longer," he tweeted.
Conservative groups have for years said their content is disproportionately subjected to bias in search rankings and news feeds, and even deleted in a practice known as "shadow banning."
The news of the possible committee comes at a time of tension between Washington and Silicon Valley as the Justice Department prepares to sue Google for alleged antitrust violations.

Who Wrote This? White House Releases Strategy Document Regarding China that Does Not Include President Trump’s Strong Positions and Policies Towards China
The White House released a document this week on the US strategy with China. It came far short of what President Trump’s policy is with China.
Lou Dobbs spoke about the policy statement on the White House web site this week entitled: United States Strategic Approach to the Peoples Republic of China.
KT McFarland spoke on the National Security Strategy with China released this week with Lou Dobbs on FOX Business:
Throw it in the trash – that doesn’t reflect President Trump’s thinking. And President Trump himself is actively engaged in the China policy. He knows it’s the most important national security issue we face right now. How to deal with China? How to deal with China’s ambitions?

China’s actions in releasing the China coronavirus and allowing its citizens to travel the world with the virus was like sending out individual bio-weapons around the world.
President Trump knows how badly China wants Biden to win the 2020 election.
Democrats know how much the coronavirus helps their cause – It’s almost like they are working with China:
President Trump is best for the long term stability and prosperity of America. He has done more to address China’s atrocious activities across the globe than any President ever.
