US Reportedly Sent Millions in Masks, PPE To China

"The U.S. government encouraged American companies to send masks and personal protection equipment, or PPE, worth millions of dollars to China earlier this year, according to a Washington Post report Saturday.

The newspaper's report said the White House was oblivious to the danger the coronavirus posed to the U.S. and the rest of the world.

The move, the newspaper said, "underscores the Trump administration's failure to recognize and prepare for the growing pandemic threat."

The Post said its findings are based on a "review of economic data and internal government documents."

The newspaper said an analysis of the value of the masks and other items sent to China in January and February showed it grew by more than 1,000 percent in comparison to the same time last year, jumping from $1.4 million to approximately $17.6 million. There was also three-digit inflation for the shipments of ventilators and protective garments."

Michael Cohen, a former lawyer for President Trump, has reportedly been working on a tell-all book scheduled to be released before November's presidential election.

The book, which Cohen has been writing and shopping to publishers from prison, will “spill the beans” on the president, Cohen's friend, actor Tom Arnold, told The Daily Beast.

“It’s like 'Jaws.' You don’t see 'Jaws' very much, but you hear the music, and for Trump, he knows Michael is coming and Trump better hear the 'Jaws' music,” Arnold said. “He told me he’s been writing a book and he’s pissed. He told me he is going to spill the beans. What has he got to lose now?”

Cohen is being released from prison early because of the coronavirus and will finish the rest of his three-year sentence in home confinement....

World Health Guru Says Don’t Bet on Covid-19 Vaccine

The threat of the coronavirus may linger “for the foreseeable future” because there’s no guarantee a vaccine can be developed, a leading expert on the disease has said, according to the U.K.’s Observer newspaper.

David Nabarro, professor of global health at London’s Imperial College and an envoy for the World Health Organization on Covid-19, offered the warning as the number of U.K. hospital deaths from the virus surpassed 15,000.

“Some viruses are very, very difficult when it comes to vaccine development - so for the foreseeable future, we are going to have to find ways to go about our lives with this virus as a constant threat,” he said.

U.K. Care Home Deaths Much Higher Than Reported, Study Says

The number of deaths in U.K. care homes caused by the coronavirus is much higher than official figures reported so far, according to the National Care Forum.

The NCF report estimates that more than 4,000 elderly and disabled people may have died from coronavirus in residential and nursing homes, according to a report dated April 18. The report showed a doubling of coronavirus related deaths in U.K. care homes within just one week, with the NCF highlighting “significant flaws in the current national reporting” amid calls for more accurate data linked to virus-related deaths, Saturday’s report said.

Official care home deaths stand at 217, according to the Office of National Statistics, but the actual number is higher, according to Health Sectretary Matt Hancock. Collecting data on deaths outside hospitals is more time consuming, Hancock said at a hearing on Friday.

"The President of the United States and the Governor of New York have started their own personal war as they both try to grapple with the state’s coronavirus outbreak, which is now the deadliest in the world.

The pair has been at loggerheads for weeks, but things took a turn for the worse this weekend, with President Donald Trump telling New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to “spend more time doing and less time complaining” in a pointed tweet in response to a televised briefing Cuomo had given.

Cuomo fired back at the President, saying he should “get up and go to work” rather than being at home “watching TV”.

The United States is now the worst affected country by the coronavirus, with more than 732,000 cases, and more than 38,000 deaths. The US has more than half a million more cases of coronavirus than other hard hit nations around the world like Spain and Italy, who have just over 191,000 and 175,000 cases respectively.

New York State is the country’s coronavirus epicentre, and has been badly affected, with more than 13,200 deaths.

During Governor Cuomo’s press conference on Friday, Mr Trump, watching on, sent a series of tweets directly to the Governor."

Pictures from inside Wuhan’s secretive Institute of Virology show a broken seal on the door of one of the refrigerators used to hold 1,500 different strains of virus – including the bat coronavirus which has jumped to humans with such devastating effect.

The pictures, first released by the state-owned China Daily newspaper in 2018, were published on Twitter last month, before being deleted. One comment attached read: ‘I have seen better seals on my refrigerator in my kitchen.’

"Joshua Bickel set out to cover a demonstration in Ohio – and within hours, his photo of angry people pressed up against glass took on a life of its own

Monday was just an ordinary day for Joshua Bickel. A photojournalist for the Columbus Dispatch, he set out to cover a protest outside Ohio governor Mike DeWine’s daily press briefing, where about 100 protesters had gathered. He dutifully took the shots.

One of them, an image depicting demonstrators pressed up against the glass outside the governor’s office demanding Ohio reopen for business, was quickly taken before Bickel moved on for another angle.

But within hours, the picture had taken on a life of its own and was shared thousands of times. Commentators forecasted awards in Bickel’s future; others spliced his work up to make memes portraying the protesters as zombies; some even wished death and sickness on them.

“That part of it was hard for me, to be honest,” says Bickel. “I never want people to die, I never want people to get sick.”"

Sec 2 Findings

(8) To address this global vulnerability and the deficit of political commitment, institutional capacity, and funding, in 2017, several countries and private partners launched the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI). CEPI’s mission is to stimulate, finance, and coordinate development of vaccines for high-priority, epidemic-potential threats in cases where traditional markets do not exist or cannot create sufficient demand.

(9) Through funding of partnerships, CEPI seeks to bring priority vaccines candidates through the end of phase II clinical trials, as well as support vaccine platforms that can be rapidly deployed against emerging pathogens.

(10) CEPI has funded multiple partners to develop vaccine candidates against the novel coronavirus, responding to this urgent, global requirement.

(11) Support for and participation in CEPI is an important part of the United States own health security and biodefense and is in the national interest, complementing the work of many Federal agencies and providing significant value through global partnership and burden-sharing.

Preparedness Innovations shall be considered a public international

organization for purposes of section 1 of the International

Organizations Immunities Act (22 U.S.C. 288).

(c) Reports to Congress.-Not later than 180 days after the date of

the enactment of this Act, the President shall submit to the

appropriate congressional committees a report that includes the

following:

(1) The United States planned contributions to the

Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and the

mechanisms for United States participation in such Coalition.

(2) The manner and extent to which the United States shall

participate in the governance of the Coalition.

(3) How participation in the Coalition supports relevant

United States Government strategies and programs in health

security and biodefense, to include-

(A) the Global Health Security Strategy required by

section 7058(c)(3) of division K of the Consolidated

Appropriations Act, 2018 (Public Law 115-141);

(B) the applicable revision of the National

Biodefense Strategy required by section 1086 of the

National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017

(6 U.S.C. 104); and

(C) any other relevant decision-making process for

policy, planning, and spending in global health

security, biodefense, or vaccine and medical

countermeasures research and development.

Pentagon To Extend Military Travel Ban To June 30

The Pentagon has extended its domestic and international travel ban to June 30 in an effort to prevent the spread of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, Matthew P. Donovan, under secretary of defense for personnel and readiness, announced on April 18.

“We understand the impact this has on our service members and their families. However, this is a necessary measure to keep our people safe and our military ready,” Donovan said in a conference call with reporters announcing the extension.

Defense Secretary Mark Esper initially ordered a halt on all movement of U.S. troops for 60 days in March amid concerns over the spread of the CCP virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus, forcing some units already deployed overseas to remain there for longer than expected. The new order, which will see the travel ban extended to more than a month past its original end date of May 11, is yet to be issued by Esper but he is expected to do so on Monday.

U.K. Reports 5,850 New Coronavirus Cases, 596 Deaths

A further 596 deaths linked to the coronavirus were recorded in U.K. hospitals, the fewest since April 6, though Cabinet Minister Michael Gove said on Sunday morning that it is still too early to consider lifting lockdown restrictions.

With a total of 16,060, the U.K. is one of five countries with more than 10,000 coronavirus deaths. It reported 5,850 additional infections in figures released by the Department of Health and Social Care on Sunday.

Doctor Charged With Fraud Over Role in Selling 'COVID-19 Treatment Packs'

Federal prosecutors this week charged a Southern California doctor with selling coronavirus treatments online — including a drug repeatedly promoted by President Donald Trump — as a “100%” cure, officials said.

The doctor, Jennings Ryan Staley, 44, a licensed physician and the owner of Skinny Beach Med Spa in San Diego, was charged with mail fraud on Thursday for his role in selling “COVID-19 treatment packs” that included the medications hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California said in a statement. Trump has promoted hydroxychloroquine as a “what have you got to lose” remedy.

The treatment packs were billed as a “concierge medicine experience,” and retailed “at $3,995 for a family of four, that included among other things access to Dr. Staley,” the two medications, and “anti-anxiety treatments to help you avoid panic if needed and help you sleep,” prosecutors said.

Skinny Beach Med Spa, which offered a range of beauty-related services such as Botox, hair removal and fat transfer, started advertising the packs in late March, prosecutors said. An investigation was opened after FBI agents received a tip.

In a phone call with an undercover FBI agent, according to court records, Staley said he was selling antimalarial medication that “cures the disease” and identified the medication as hydroxychloroquine.

“It’s preventative and curative,” Staley said, according to prosecutors. “It’s hard to believe, it’s almost too good to be true. But it’s a remarkable clinical phenomenon.” During the phone call, they noted, he also mentioned another antimalarial drug — mefloquine — that he said he would sell to the undercover agent if he ran out of hydroxychloroquine.

Staley, according to prosecutors, said that both drugs would totally cure COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, and that taking it before getting sick would make one immune for at least six weeks.

When Staley was interviewed by the FBI the following week, according to prosecutors, he said it “would be foolish” to tell patients that the treatments are a 100% effective cure for the coronavirus.

“We will not tolerate COVID-19 fraudsters who try to profit and take advantage of the pandemic fear to cheat, steal and harm others,” Robert Brewer, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of California, said in the statement. “Rest assured: those who engage in this despicable conduct will find themselves in the crosshairs of federal prosecutors.”

Patrick Griffin, Staley’s lawyer, said Friday night that his client was following the example of the executive branch of government, which he said was now unfairly prosecuting him.

“The same executive branch that has been touting these two medications for weeks has now turned around and criminally charged an Iraq veteran, Dr. Staley, no criminal record, for doing exactly the same thing that the administration’s been doing this whole time,” he said.

Early reports from doctors in China and France have said that hydroxychloroquine, sometimes combined with the antibiotic azithromycin, seemed to help patients. But the studies were small and did not use proper control groups.

Griffin said that his client truly believed he was helping people during a crisis, adding that the treatment packs were sold at a fair market price. In an email, Griffin said Staley even gave the undercover agent “two for free. The opposite of scamming someone.”

He declined to comment on the claims prosecutors said Staley made about the medication.

“The proper forum for this conduct is really more of a state regulatory agency instead of a federal criminal courtroom,” he said. “Really what we have here is a dispute about what a physician feels is in the best interests of his patients.”

But the case, Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Huie said, is about the 100% curative claims made about the medication.

“Our case is not about the doctor touting drugs,” Huie said in a phone interview Friday. “It’s not about whether drugs are good or bad. It’s about him telling patients, telling would-be customers, in an effort to sell his services, that what he’s offering is a 100% cure and it confers temporary immunity.”

That, he said, “is very different from arguing over the results of studies or the precise efficacy of a drug.”

If convicted, Staley could face up to 20 years in prison.

Geneticist Peter Forster, from the U.K.'s University of Cambridge, is leading a research project to understand the historical processes that led to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ultimately, they hope to identify the first person who got the virus and served as the source for the initial outbreak. By analyzing networks, they have so far been able to chart the spread of the virus, including the genetic mutations, as it moved from China to Australia, Europe and the rest of the world.

They have created a network analysis using over 1,000 coronavirus genomes. This includes patient infection date and the "type" of virus the person was infected with. There are three types—A, B and C. A is closest to the coronavirus found in bats and is thought to be the original human virus genome. This type was found in Chinese and American individuals, with mutated versions in patients from Australia and the U.S.

However, A was not the virus type found in most cases in Wuhan, the city in China where COVID-19 was first identified. Instead, most people there had type B. Researchers suggest there was a "founder event" for type B in Wuhan. Type C, the "daughter" of type B, is what was identified in early cases in Europe, as well as South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong—but appears absent from mainland China.

Former President Bill Clinton has talked openly about how he could have killed Osama bin Laden—but passed.

“I nearly got him. And I could have killed him, but I would have to destroy a little town called Kandahar in Afghanistan and kill 300 innocent women and children, and then I would have been no better than him. And so I just didn't do it,” Clinton confessed to an Australian audience just 10 hours before two planes struck the World Trade Center.

But in The Longest War, a new documentary from director Greg Barker (Manhunt) and executive producer Alex Gansa (Homeland), former CIA agents reveal that they had another opportunity to take out Osama bin Laden with little collateral damage.

“Bin Laden was constantly moving, and we were using Afghan tribal networks to report on his travels and his whereabouts,” Bob Grenier, then-CIA station chief in Islamabad, Pakistan, says in the film.

When the Afghan tribal networks uncovered that a caravan carrying bin Laden would be traveling along a certain route, they suggested U.S. forces bury a cache of explosives along it to eliminate the infamous terrorist. But Grenier told them they’d be “risking jail” if they did, and that was all thanks to President Clinton.

“The CIA had a so-called ‘lethal finding’ [bill] that had been signed by President Clinton that said that we could engage in ‘lethal activity’ against bin Laden, but the purpose of our attack against bin Laden couldn’t be to kill him,” Grenier explains in the film. “We were being asked to remove this threat to the United States essentially with one hand tied behind our backs.”

According to director Greg Barker, “It’s hard to believe now, but back in the late ‘90s, most of the Washington national security establishment—including President Clinton, the State Department, the Department of Defense—simply did not view Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda as a serious threat. The handful of U.S. officials who saw the looming threat clearly—and there were some, mostly mid-level officers at the CIA’s bin Laden unit and the counter-terrorism branch at the FBI—tried in vain to raise alarm bells at the highest levels, but were often ignored and even ridiculed.”

“As a result,” he continues, “policy decisions were made that seem unfathomable today, like a Justice Department ruling that it would be illegal for the United States to intentionally kill bin Laden, which left CIA officers in the field feeling frustrated and angry, as if they were unable to prevent a train crash happening in slow motion right before their eyes. The irony is that many of these same mid-level officers were later blamed for not doing enough to prevent the 9/11 attacks, when in fact the blame rests with the senior decision-makers who ignored direct warnings for far too long.”

Barker is also the man behind Manhunt, a documentary detailing the (mainly female) CIA agents who spent years hunting down Osama bin Laden. Like that exceptional film, The Longest War is a thorough examination of the catastrophe that is the Afghanistan war, which officially began on October 7, 2001, and continues to this day, making it the longest war in U.S. history.

“There’s enough blame to go around, and I think the film hands it out evenly,” EP Alex Gansa tells The Daily Beast. “Bill Clinton didn’t have the balls to do what was necessary before 9/11, George Bush didn’t take the threat seriously enough when he came into office and then grievously overreacted when that threat was realized, and Obama didn’t do what he promised during his campaign—namely, end the wars.”

Iran’s central bank governor urged the International Monetary Fund to resist U.S. pressure and approve its application for financing to help bridge a 10 billion-euro ($10.9 billion) deficit as the country’s sanctions-hit economy struggles to cope with the coronavirus pandemic.

The Islamic Republic asked the IMF on March 6 for $5 billion in loans to help finance its efforts to combat the disease and support an economy severely weakened by U.S. sanctions that have devastated oil revenues and isolated the state from the global banking system. While the U.S. has said it will block the application, on April 15 the IMF’s director for the Middle East and Central Asia said it’s proceeding with Iran’s request for assistance.

“The last time I checked, it’s not the United States running the IMF, but its management and the board of governors who oversee the work and ensure that the IMF delivers on its mandate,” Abdolnaser Hemmati, head of the Central Bank of Iran, said in written answers to questions sent by Bloomberg.

The U.S. says sanctions don’t apply to humanitarian goods such as pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and food, but Iran says they are preventing it from accessing its own money, which is frozen overseas and hurting its ability to pay for imports. Iran’s economy has contracted significantly since the U.S. abandoned the 2015 nuclear deal and enforced its toughest sanctions on the Islamic Republic to date.

Iran is the site of the worst coronavirus outbreak in the Middle East with more than 5,000 deaths and over 80,000 infections. The country started easing restrictions on some businesses on April 11, seeking to boost the economy, and two-thirds of government employees have now been allowed to return to work. “We have lost so many lives, as the Americans and Europeans have lost, and my thoughts and prayers go with them,” Hemmati said, appealing directly to Kristalina Georgieva, chair and managing director of the IMF. “The time to act is now.” According to Hemmati, U.S. sanctions and its decision to add the Iranian central bank to its list of “specially designated nationals and blocked persons” in September 2019 prevent Iran from accessing its own money, which would be “more than enough” to cover the 10 billion-euro shortfall.

“Central Bank reserves are under U.S. sanctions overseas, which is illegal and unilateral, and I want to be clear about this. What we are saying is that the sanctions should be lifted altogether, however, sadly, there are actors in the U.S. government that have little regards for international law and order,” Hemmati said.

Iran is separately seeking a $50 million loan from the World Bank, marking the first time since 2005 that the country has applied for such a loan from the Washington-based institution, a deputy health minister said on state TV on Saturday. It has also asked for a 130 million-euro loan from the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has fiercely opposed Iran’s request to the IMF, accusing it of seeking to funnel the money into “corrupt purposes.”

The U.S. imposed its toughest sanctions regime to date on Iran in 2018 after President Donald Trump abandoned the 2015 nuclear deal, which was designed to address concerns related to the country’s atomic activities. Trump’s so-called “maximum pressure” strategy against Iran aims to force the Islamic Republic into submitting to a series of demands by Washington including a complete end to its support for Hezbollah and Iraqi militias.

(Reuters) – Neiman Marcus Group is preparing to seek bankruptcy protection as soon as this week, becoming the first major U.S. department store operator to succumb to the economic fallout from the coronavirus outbreak, people familiar with the matter said.

The debt-laden Dallas-based company has been left with few options after the pandemic forced it to temporarily shut all 43 of its Neiman Marcus locations, roughly two dozen Last Call stores and its two Bergdorf Goodman stores in New York.

Nova Scotia RCMP arrest suspected 'active shooter' with 'several victims'

Police had warned that the suspect may have been wearing an RCMP uniform

The Nova Scotia RCMP arrested a 51-year-old man in connection to a shooting with “several victims” in a rural town on Sunday morning.

Cpl. Lisa Croteau, public information officer with the RCMP Nova Scotia, confirmed there are “multiple victims” but could not provide a number or say whether any people had been killed.

In a series of tweets, police said they arrested 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman who was considered “armed and dangerous.” No details have been released on the victims or the nature of their injuries.

Forty-four Boko Haram terrorist suspects were found dead of apparent suicide in their prison cells in Chad, a public prosecutor said, as observers wonder whether they were murdered or had committed collective suicide.

Autopsies carried out on four of the prisoners found that they had ingested poison, Youssof Tom, a high court prosecutor, said Saturday.

The imprisoned suspects died on Thursday and Friday. It is unclear how the prisoners acquired the poison from inside the prison.

Officials said the 44 were among a group of 58 suspects captured during a major army operation around Lake Chad launched by President Idriss Deby Itno early this month. Dubbed Operation "Anger of Boma," 1,000 Boko Haram fighters were killed and dozens were taken prisoner during a 10-day counterterrorism operation, according to the Chadian army.

"For the 14 other prisoners who escaped this atrocious death, the legal proceedings will continue," Tom said.

All 58 were to have been tried by a criminal court, Justice Minister Djimet Arabi told Agence France-Presse (AFP).

U.S. District Judge John Broomes said that he believes the policy likely violates religious freedom as well as free speech protections, the Associated Press reported.

Broomes' ruling prevents the enforcement of Kelly's order as long as church officials and members of the congregation following social distancing guidelines, the AP said.

The case was brought by two Baptist churches — First Baptist Church of Dodge City and Calvary Baptist Church of Junction City — that were represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom.

What did the governor order?

Kelly has issued a string of executive orders addressing "mass gatherings" amid the coronavirus pandemic, with each new order replacing the previous and becoming more restrictive — especially with regard to religious gatherings.

Broomes noted that on March 17, the governor issued an order prohibited "mass gatherings" of 50 or more people. But the order included a list of exemptions, including “Religious gatherings, as long as attendees can engage in appropriate social distancing."

A week later, on March 24, Kelly issued a new order banning gatherings of 10 or more people. The exemption for religious gatherings was maintained.

And on March 27, the governor actually declared performing or attending religious services as an "essential function."

Then, on April 7, just days before Easter, Kelly issued a new executive order with an updated list of venues where the "mass gathering" rule applies — and for the first time the list included "churches or other religious facilities."

But that wasn't all that was updated.

The new order included new language specifically targeting churches:

With regard to churches or other religious services or activities, this order prohibits gatherings of more than ten congregants or parishioner in the same building or confined or enclosed space. However, the number of individuals – such as preachers, lay readers, choir or musical performer, or liturgists – conducting or performing a religious service may exceed ten as long as those individuals follow appropriate safety protocols, including maintaining a six-foot distance between individuals and following other directive regarding social distancing, hygiene, and other efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Chaos on Chios: Migrants riot on Greek Orthodox Holy Saturday

Migrants living on the eastern Aegean Greek island of Chios set fires and attacked police on Orthodox Holy Saturday into the early morning hours of Easter Sunday.

Two cars, tents, a canteen inside of the migrant camp, and houses were burned during the chaos which ensued after false news of an Iraqi woman dying from COVID-19 caused fear and anxiety to spread among the camp’s migrants, news portal Politis Chios reports.

The rumor began circulating within the camp after the Iraqi woman was taken to the Chios Hospital to undergo routine checks for the virus. It later came out that the woman had not been infected with the virus.

Following a number of violent outburst which occurred earlier in the day, the migrants started to hurl stones at police at around 9:00pm. The situation became even more tense when some of the migrants decided to set fire to tents, cars, the camp canteen, and number of housing structures.

When violence finally stopped sometime during the early hours of Easter Sunday morning, Chios police arrested three of the immigrants who were deemed to be responsible for inciting the violence. The three migrants now face hefty criminal charges. Police continue to identify others who were involved.

In response to the incident, Greece’s Minister of Immigration and Asylum said: “Difficult night yesterday at the migrant camp and congratulations to the police and staff for enforcing order. Those responsible for the incident will be found.”

House Intelligence Committee Republicans are "laser-focused" on investigating information the CIA gave to the FBI in 2016, according to ranking member Devin Nunes.

For the first time, the California congressman described in great detail the next steps of a broad congressional inquiry into possible misconduct during the Russia investigation, which he said includes scrutiny of three "dossiers" and questions about three Russian Americans. All of this follows the declassification of key documents over the past couple weeks, including footnotes showing the FBI was warned British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s anti-Trump dossier was likely influenced by Russian disinformation and yet continued to use it, and Nunes's pledge to send more criminal referrals to the Justice Department.

During a Fox News interview on Sunday, Nunes brought up the CIA at the end of a list of issues he and his colleagues are examining and credited the investigative work of his former Republican colleague, South Carolina's Trey Gowdy, with providing a road map for that facet of the effort.

"In 2016, we know from great work that Trey Gowdy did at the time ... that the CIA gave information over to the FBI in 2016. We now are laser-focused on that. We need to know exactly what did the CIA give to the FBI in 2016?" Nunes said.

Gowdy, the former chairman of the House Oversight Committee, encouraged investigators in May 2019 to track down emails between former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey from December 2016.

A short summary of Steele's unverified research, which was funded by Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee through the Perkins Coie law firm, made it into an appendix in the 2017 intelligence community assessment on Russian election interference.

In November, Brennan dissociated himself from that was then the forthcoming Justice Department watchdog report on an investigation into alleged government surveillance abuses against Page. Emphasizing "the FBI was taking the lead" on securing the FISA warrants, Brennan told MSNBC the CIA might have known something about Page if his name "came up in some type of Intelligence Community report," adding, "That would have been immediately shared with the FBI."

DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report, released in December, criticized the Justice Department and the FBI for at least 17 “significant errors and omissions” related to FISA warrants against Page, and also determined the counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign...

Still, questions remain about Brennan's role in the matter. Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul pinned the blame on Brennan, tweeting last year, "A high-level source tells me it was Brennan who insisted that the unverified and fake Steele dossier be included in the Intelligence Report."

Watergate sleuth Bob Woodward also said last year, “I think it was the CIA pushing this.”

U.S. Attorney John Durham, at the behest of Attorney General William Barr, is conducting a review of possible misconduct by federal law enforcement and intelligence officials during the Russia investigation and is said to be increasingly focused on Brennan. Democrats have criticized Durham's review as a politically-motivated scheme to undermine the work of special counsel Robert Mueller and attack Trump's perceived enemies.

The CIA did not immediately return a request for comment on Nunes's talk of an information exchange with the FBI.

Nunes told Fox News on Sunday that "there’s a bunch of questions" about three "phony documents" that Durham is examining that House Intelligence Committee Republicans are also investigating. One of them is the Steele dossier. The other two are the 2017 intelligence community assessment on Russian election interference and Mueller's report, which Nunes said is "filled with both lies and omissions."

"Remember, you have people that have been prosecuted over this, that have already spent time in jail over this. Why when Mueller and his team, you know, this great team of experts at DOJ and FBI, they brought all these people in, where the hell is all of that information now that you guys are all now seeing for the first time here in the last week?" he said.

"Why did we not know about [former Trump campaign adviser] George Papadopoulos being offered this money, OK, from Russians. Who were those Russians?" Nunes added. "And so moving forward, you have the three dossiers that have to be investigated. I’m also interested in three Russians — actually Russian Americans, that we’re looking into."

Trump Admin Redirects W.H.O. Funding to Samaritan’s Purse, Red Cross

The White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has redirected funds from the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) to charitable groups such as Samaritan’s Purse and the Red Cross, the New York Post reported Thursday.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump ordered a 60-day hold on U.S. funding to the W.H.O., asserting the organization failed to vet information about the novel coronavirus coming out of China, and ultimately covered up the seriousness of its effects because of its friendly relationship with that nation.

The New York Post noted the funds would be redirected to charities, such as the Red Cross, and Christian organization Samaritan’s Purse, led by its president, Rev. Franklin Graham:

An administration official told The Post that efforts were underway to redirect “every single pot of money” from the WHO to other organizations. Large international relief organizations already are in many cases doing similar work, they said.

The administration official said that the White House Office of Management and Budget would send any necessary notifications to Congress when there are decisions to redirect funds, though in some cases that may be unnecessary.

Wow, an almost perfect bell curve of interest-disinterest over an eight day period. However, I remember refreshing and checking the total views each morning at the same time this week and DON'T recall this gradual drop in interest. I remember a sudden flat-lining of the number of views/24 hrs for Wed/Thurs and Thurs/Fri at 1.8 million, which surprised me, and then a plummeting view count over the last two days, which smelled of youtube fukkery.

The other odd metric was the total number of comments each day. They nicely followed the steady growth in views but suddenly got stuck at the mid-40K range. The comments NEVER increased as would have been reasonably expected despite my observation of the continued growth in views and the last two day plummet and despite youtube's gradual decline of daily views. Regardless of the true number of daily views, THE COMMENTS should have continued to accumulate but didn't.

A viral #OutOfShadows public count was deemed unacceptable by the Cabal in this Information War and the sudden steep rise in popularity of this eye-opening expose of the decades long manipulation of the masses by the Mockingbird MSM and Pedowood had to be seen publicly dying a slow death. It will be labeled as just another "debunked conspiracy theory" despite the lack of any actual "debunking" by anyone.

Tennessee can't delay abortions, 'even by a matter of days,' amid COVID-19, judge says

Tennessee must allow abortions to move forward during the COVID-19 pandemic, a federal judge ruled Friday evening, handing a victory to abortion providers who have fought the state for years.

U.S. District Judge Bernard A. Friedman issued a preliminary injunction that kept the state from stopping surgical abortions. State lawyers quickly moved to appeal, and they asked the judge to delay his decision until a federal appeals court could weigh in.

Gov. Bill Lee had issued an executive order earlier this month that banned "non-emergency" medical procedures through April 30 in an effort to preserve medical equipment needed to fight the coronavirus.

Abortion providers said the order forced them to cancel or delay several surgical procedures. They filed a challenge in federal court Monday, saying the order violated women's constitutional right to access abortions.

Friedman sided with abortion providers, saying they had convincingly argued Lee's order was too restrictive.

"Abortion is a time-sensitive procedure," Friedman wrote. "Delaying a woman’s access to abortion even by a matter of days can result in her having to undergo a lengthier and more complex procedure that involves progressively greater health risks, or can result in her losing the right to obtain an abortion altogether."

Lawyers from the Tennessee attorney general's office had argued the executive order was necessary to preserve personal protective equipment, or PPE, for workers fighting the coronavirus.

The state lawyers said abortion clinics could pull needed supplies away from hospitals for abortions, which they described as "non-urgent procedures that are not emergencies.”

In his order, Friedman said the abortion providers had shown they used a limited amount of PPE, and that timely abortions required less PPE than continuing a pregnancy.

The judge, who was appointed to the federal bench by former President Ronald Reagan, issued his order after hearing from both sides during a telephone conference earlier Friday.

Abortion advocates, who had joined providers to ask for the restraining order in federal court, cheered Friedman's decision Friday night.

“The court’s decision today ensures that women in Tennessee can continue to make their own decisions about pregnancy and parenting based on what is best for their families,” Hedy Weinberg, executive director of the ACLU of Tennessee said in a statement. “Abortion is time-sensitive essential health care and the COVID-19 crisis cannot be used to prevent women from obtaining abortions. Especially during a pandemic, it is crucial that women have access to a full range of health services, including abortion, to ensure their health and wellbeing.”

The Center for Reproductive Rights, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the ACLU, and other allies joined the Tennessee abortion providers in this effort. The national groups have fought similar efforts to curtail abortion in other states amid COVID-19.

Soon after Friedman entered his order Friday night, the Tennessee attorney general's office notified the court they would appeal. They asked Friedman to delay his order until the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals had reviewed the issue.

In their motion for a stay, the Tennessee attorneys argued Friedman's order allowing surgical abortions to continue amid the pandemic "undermines the State’s ability to effectively prepare for the incoming wave of infections and ensures that the virus may continue to spread through the State’s healthcare system and beyond."

Lee's office did not respond to a request for comment Friday night.

The Tennessee abortion providers challenged Lee's COVID-19 order within an ongoing lawsuit over the state's 48-hour abortion waiting period law. That case already went to trial, and a decision is pending.

Trump ‘fomenting domestic rebellion,’ Dem governor Inslee says

A series of Twitter messages posted by President Trump showed the president is “fomenting domestic rebellion,” a Democrat governor alleged Friday.

Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee leveled the charge in a statement that also accused the president of encouraging “illegal and dangerous acts,” Q13 FOX of Seattle reported.

Inslee’s accusations came on the same day that others - such as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and U.S. Sen. Angus King of Maine - raised the temperature of their rhetoric against the president and his administration as much of the nation remained under stay-at-home orders resulting from the coronavirus outbreak.

The attacks also came one day after the president unveiled guidelines titled "Opening Up America Again," a series of steps for reopening and reviving the U.S. economy.

Whether the Democrats' attacks were spontaneous or part of the party’s election-year strategy, as it looks to deny Trump a second term, was not immediately clear.

Earlier in the day, the president posted a series of messages saying, “LIBERATE MINNESOTA!,” “LIBERATE MICHIGAN!,” and ‘LIBERATE VIRGINIA,” in a show of support for citizens of those states who have been protesting stay-at-home orders or, in the case of Virginia, recent gun control measures enacted by state Democrats. (Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced some easing of that state's rules Friday, the same day protesters gathered outside his home.)

Inslee derided the president’s tweets as “unhinged rantings.”

A California mayor who recently said he would resign over social media posts comparing Trump supporters to members of the Ku Klux Klan was killed in a plane crash Saturday, according to a report.

Auburn Mayor Bill Kirby was identified as the person killed when a small plane went down near Auburn Airport just after 11 a.m. local time, FOX 40 Sacramento reported.

The other person on the plane apparently survived but there was no immediate information about that person’s identity or medical condition.

Kirby, who was also a physician, took heat from Auburn residents earlier this week during a city council meeting that was conducted by video because of the coronavirus outbreak.

In one of the posts, the mayor allegedly shared a photo of a Ku Klux Klan hood, with the caption, “Good news for Trump supporters is that most of them already have masks,” FOX 40 reported. The post was later taken down.

Kirby told residents he blamed President Trump for a lack of proper gear and testing capabilities in his work as a physician.

“This president has put us all at risk,” Kirby said.

During the city council meeting, officials and the public heard a string of voicemails that the council had received from residents infuriated by Kirby’s online posts.

“These comments are hateful, degrading, bigoted and more consistent with the mentality of a 15-year-old,” one voicemail said, according to FOX 40.

The mayor appeared remorseful at the meeting when he talked about the posts.

“I spent 40 years dedicating my life to serving the community of Auburn as a physician and through my volunteer efforts. Am I perfect? No. We’re all a little flawed,” Kirby said.

Kirby said he planned to step down as mayor at the next council meeting on April 27.

The plane crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, California state fire officials told the station.

Auburn is a city of about 13,000 residents located about 33 miles northeast of Sacramento.

Journalist Files Charges against WHO and UN for Bioterrorism and Intent to Commit Mass Murder

As the anticipated July release date for Baxter’s A/H1N1 flu pandemic vaccine approaches, an Austrian investigative journalist is warning the world that the greatest crime in the history of humanity is underway. Jane Burgermeister has recently filed criminal charges with the FBI against the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and several of the highest ranking government and corporate officials concerning bioterrorism and attempts to commit mass murder. She has also prepared an injunction against forced vaccination which is being filed in America. Summary of claims and allegations filed with FBI in Austria on June 10, 2009

In her charges, Burgermeister presents evidence of acts of bioterrorism that is in violation of U.S. law by a group operating within the U.S. under the direction of international bankers who control the Federal Reserve, as well as WHO, UN and NATO. This bioterrorism is for the purpose of carrying out a mass genocide against the U.S. population by use of a genetically engineered flu pandemic virus with the intent of causing death. This group has annexed high government offices in the U.S.

Specifically, evidence is presented that the defendants, Barack Obama, President of the U.S, David Nabarro, UN System Coordinator for Influenza, Margaret Chan, Director-General of WHO, Kathleen Sibelius, Secretary of Department of Health and Human Services, Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Department of Homeland Security, David de Rotschild, banker, David Rockefeller, banker, George Soros, banker, Werner Faymann, Chancellor of Austria, and Alois Stoger, Austrian Health Minister, among others, are part of this international corporate criminal syndicate which has developed, produced, stockpiled and employed biological weapons to eliminate the population of the U.S. and other countries for financial and political gain.

The charges contend that these defendants conspired with each other and others to devise, fund and participate in the final phase of the implementation of a covert international bioweapons program involving the pharmaceutical companies Baxter and Novartis. They did this by bioengineering and then releasing lethal biological agents, specifically the “bird flu” virus and the “swine flu virus” in order to have a pretext to implement a forced mass vaccination program which would be the means of administering a toxic biological agent to cause death and injury to the people of the U.S. This action is in direct violation of the Biological Weapons Anti-terrorism Act.

Burgermeister’s charges include evidence that Baxter AG, Austrian subsidiary of Baxter International, deliberately sent out 72 kilos of live bird flu virus, supplied by the WHO in the winter of 2009 to 16 laboratories in four counties. She claims this evidence offers clear proof that the pharmaceutical companies and international government agencies themselves are actively engaged in producing, developing, manufacturing and distributing biological agents classified as the most deadly bioweapons on earth in order to trigger a pandemic and cause mass death.

Where a tower or other equipment can be made to ignite, this requires the use of highly toxic combustible flammable chemicals and accelerants. If telecom equipment is set afire, this then can release a spew of toxic metals, plastics and invisibly deadly knife-like slivers of glass that rain environmental hazards onto anyone nearby and could permanently damage the local environment for years.

The towers are complex structures housing fiber optic cables that are produced using highly reactive gases such as silicon tetrachloride, germanium tetrachloride and germanium fluoride, and phosphorous oxychloride. Sweden Says Controversial Covid-19 Strategy Is Proving Effective

Sweden’s unusual approach to fighting the coronavirus pandemic is starting to yield results, according to the country’s top epidemiologist.

Anders Tegnell, the architect behind Sweden’s relatively relaxed response to Covid-19, told local media the latest figures on infection rates and fatalities indicate the situation is starting to stabilize.

“We’re on a sort of plateau,” Tegnell told Swedish news agency TT.

How the Military-Industrial Complex Is Using the Coronavirus

Arms industry lobbyists are addressing this pandemic and preparing for the next by pushing weapons sales.

There’s a battle brewing for the future of national security spending.

On one side, there’s a growing bipartisan consensus that the coronavirus has fundamentally changed the way we should think about national security. Ben Rhodes, former deputy national security adviser in the Obama White House, recently argued in The Atlantic that we have to rethink the orientation and priorities of our government, and “it makes no sense that the Pentagon budget is 13 times larger than the entire international-affairs budget, which funds the State Department, USAID, and global programs at other agencies.”

Kori Schake, the director of foreign and defense policy studies at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, said the bottom line is that “we’re going to see enormous downward pressure on defense spending because of other urgent American national needs like health care.”

Even conservative commentators like Max Boot, who less than two years ago wrote, “the United States is losing the ability to defend itself,” recently wrote that “Instead of simply pouring more money into the Pentagon, we need to develop new capacities to combat foreign disinformation, transition away from carbon fuels and stop the spread of pandemics.”

On the other side, despite this support from across the political spectrum to reduce the Pentagon’s budget and focus more on non-military threats to national security—an argument the Center for International Policy’s Sustainable Defense Task Force made long before the coronavirus pandemic—there stands one of the most powerful players in American politics: the military-industrial complex.

If history is any indication, the military-industrial complex isn’t going down without a fight, nor is the Pentagon budget. Through their droves of lobbyists, the revolving door between the Pentagon, contractors, and Congress, and the promise of providing jobs to every Congressional district, Pentagon contractors have kept the defense budget artificially inflated for years at the expense of funding for things like the Centers for Disease Control and other agencies that can help fight disease outbreaks. And, in this new coronavirus era, they’re using the same playbook once again.

The Chinese Communist Party-employed journalist who lied about where he was from during a press conference with President Trump could now face $16,000 in fines.

The National Pulse exposed Ching-Yi Chang on April 9th, after he told President Trump he was from Taiwan. In truth, he works for Dragon Television, owned in turn by Shanghai Media Group, one of the largest state-owned media groups in China.

Now, according to Taiwan’s Liberty Times, Ching-Yi could be facing punitive action from Taiwan.

Journalist William Yang reports: “So last week, a Taiwanese journalist working for #China‘s state-run Dragon Television in the US told @realDonaldTrump that he is from Taiwan when the president asked him where he is from during a presser at the White House.

“An unexpected twist of the event is that #Taiwan‘s Mainland Affairs Council, the official government agency in charge of cross-Strait affairs, came out today to say that since Chang is still a Taiwanese citizen, his employment by Dragon TV has violated the law that governs the relationship between #Taiwan and #China, in which Taiwanese nationals are prohibited from working for any companies run by the Chinese Communist Party.

“Since Dragon TV is an affiliation of the CCP, Chang has violated the relevant clause in the law, and the Mainland Affairs Council will now seek to penalize Chang for violating the law. According to the law, Chang could be fined between 100,000 to 500,000 NTD.”

That’s up to $16,000 USD.

The news followed the National Pulse expose of CCP-propagandist Youyou Wang who also lied to the U.S. President during a press briefing, claiming her news outlet was privately owned.

Youyou works for Phoenix Satellite Holdings, owned by Liu Changle (37.1% of shares). Changle is a “former PLA propaganda official who is close to senior Chinese government leaders”.

Changle previously worked as a propaganda officer for China National Radio (then known as the Central People’s Broadcasting Station).

A further 20 percent of the company is owned by Extra Step Investments Limited, in turn owned by China Mobile Hong Kong, which itself is owned by the Chinese government-owned China Mobile.

Eight more percent of the company is owned by China Wise Investment Ltd, owned by the Bank of China.

This means at least 65 percent of the company is owned by the government of China.

Ocular symptoms of retinopathy include blurred and partial loss of central vision, side vision and in the later stage, night vision. Symptoms of corneal deposits include haloes and glare. Clinical research has resulted in precise screening protocols and safe dosing guidelines to prevent ocular toxicity and detect retinal damage at an early stage.

Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine bind to melanin in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and cause damage to the macular cones outside of the fovea. The drugs inhibit RPE lysosome activity, reduce phagocytosis of shed photoreceptor outer segments causing an accumulation of outer receptor segments. In response, pigment-containing RPE cells migrate into the outer nuclear and outer plexiform layers of the retina resulting in irreversible photoreceptor loss and RPE atrophy.[3] HCQ has a long half-life (about one month) and takes about half a year to achieve full elimination from the body; this is significant when managing minor side effects such as itching and corneal deposits and major ones such as retinal toxicity and explains continued maculopathy even after discontinuation of the medication. Corneal deposits (called vortex keratopathy or corneal verticillata) result from binding to cellular lipids and deposition of the drug in the basal epithelial layer of the cornea. Discontinuation of the drug usually causes the deposits to disappear over time.

The advance of spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and multifocal electroretinography (mf-ERG) technology has allowed for better detection of retinopathy.[4] These advances, combined with the increased clinical availability of SD-OCT and, to a lesser degree mf-ERG, has increased reported incidence and prevalence of toxicity over the last decade.

The same study revealed that the most important predictor of toxicity was the duration of use (cumulative dose) and that age, the daily dose, and patient weight did not correlate significantly with HCQ toxicity. A new study then focused on those patients that had taken HCQ over 5 years. This study revealed a much higher overall risk of 7.5% retinal toxicity among the 2361 patients studied.[7] A daily dose over 5 mg/kg body weight increased the odds 5.7 times and taking HCQ over 10 years increased the odds by 3.2 times of developing retinopathy.

Those dosages are in the range being discussed for a 3-5 days cure. Not years.

Much more to worry about with DMT in the retinas more likely (can even produce 'tearing' after a very nice trip).

Have started speaking with frens/fam about HCQ. One member took for malaria, with success, but was on tail end of malaria treatment (so suggested that feeling were more from the drug than malaria). Said "It was heavy, wouldn't want to go to work on the day taking the drug, but not too bad.).

ENFIELD, Nova Scotia (AP) — A Canadian police officer is dead and another injured after a shooting rampage Sunday in Nova Scotia, a senior police official said.

Brian Sauvé, President of National Police Federation, confirmed the death the injured officer.

The suspect in the active shooter investigation was arrested Sunday at a gas station in Nova Scotia after shootings rampage left “multiple victims,” police said. At least one person was killed, according to witnesses.

A man identified by police as 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman was arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at the Enfield, Nova Scotia, gas station, northwest of downtown Halifax.

By late morning, there were half a dozen police vehicles at the scene. Yellow police tape surrounded the gas pumps, and a large silver-colored SUV was being investigated by police.

Copy/paste from an acquaintance in Texas who is a cattle nutrition specialist been in the business of beef production for 30+ years. He's a solid dude, knows his field thoroughly, has spoken at many national & international conventions on cattle raising. I trust him.

There is NO shortage of beef production from our own farmers/ranchers in addition to the fact that congress is once again allowing the importation of beef from countries like Brazil. This is not a good thing since it is hurting our domestic production prices. They are doing this as a concession to our good friends in the UN. (he's being sarcastic here)

Something to consider, a big meat processor (beef) will kill 2500 to 4500 head per day. If they shut down for 10 days (for instance) that means there are, on average, 35000 head of cattle that will not be slaughtered during that time frame.
