I think you are right on about that. The one child policy has completely destroyed the demographics of China, plus they are eliminating the traditional religious people who have large stable families (muslims, Christians).

I do wonder if the "coronavirus" was to spread another type of contagion entirely: The desire to be free.

Also, the tents with air ducts, etc. Del Bigtree's show The HighWire did an amazing expose on hospitals inflating the numbers of people showing up because of "flu". They actually went to one of the "affected" hospitals and filmed the fact that the tents that had been set up in the parking lot for "massive flu cases" were EMPTY.

Former President Barack Obama is growing concerned about avowed socialist Senator Bernie Sanders' rise in the primary polls, and may even speak out publicly against the Democratic candidate, according to a new report.

Obama, who has remained notably silent during the Democratic primary, could soon change that policy due to his concern over Sanders' increasingly far-out leftist proposals, friends and associates of the ex-president tell Fox Business Network.

Obama has told people in private that Sanders is both temperamentally and politically unfit to beat President Donald Trump in the 2020 general election, these people say.

Adding to Obama's reported concern is Sanders' 'strident' and 'confrontational' approach to politics, and his track record of shunning compromise in the Senate, according to Fox Business.

Obama is said to be concerned that Sanders' far-left proposals would alienate large segments of the Democratic base.

While it's unclear what Sanders proposals Obama might specifically abhor, his 'Medicare for All' policy would dismantle Obama's signature healthcare reforms, and according to some estimates would add $19 trillion to the national debt.

Other Sanders proposals include free college and student loan forgiveness, all funded by significant tax increases.

If Obama did speak out, it would be a sharp departure, in a campaign in which he has so far refused to endorse any candidate, including his former VP Joe Biden.

Obama did obliquely comment on 'Medicare for All', a proposal supported by Sanders and Senator Elizabeth Warren, in November.

'The average American doesn't think we have to completely tear down the system to remake it,' Obama told a gathering of Democratic donors, according to the New York Times.

It comes as Sanders surges in several national and early primary state polls.

The latest RCP polling average shows Biden just 3.7 points ahead of Sanders in Iowa, where caucuses will take place on February 3.

In New Hampshire, where Sanders has regional recognition, the Vermont senator is 4 points ahead of Biden in the latest polling average.

The latest national poll, from Emerson, shows Biden and Sanders neck and neck, with 30 percent and 27 percent respectively, and Warren in distant third with 13 percent.

Something not right here. According to the wall street analysis (pic related) of CF's disclosed financies 1999-2014 no money at all came from Sweden.

President Donald Trump endorsed a candidate in a key House race on Thursday who previously considered leaving the Republican Party, told Trump to drop out in 2016, and who voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Trump endorsed Carlos Gimenez on Thursday night in Florida’s 26th Congressional District, tweeting: “Carlos will win big, very exciting. Great for Florida, great for USA! He has my complete and total Endorsement!”

Trump’s decision to back Gimenez effectively means that he has turned his back on Irina Vilariño, a pro-Trump refugee from communist Cuba who came to the U.S. when she was a little girl and is a highly successful business owner.

In 2016, Gimenez told WFOR CBS4: “I’m not going to endorse anybody, but between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, I’m not voting for Donald Trump. Obviously, I must be voting for Hillary Clinton.”

Powell Files Memo: Prosecution Wants Jail Time Because Flynn ‘refuses to compose’ Government Lies

A sentencing memo filed Wednesday by former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s defense attorney states that the Justice Department prosecutor’s reversal in asking for prison time on Flynn is retribution for his decision not to testify to ‘lies’ in the case of his former business partner, whose conviction was overturned by a federal judge last year.

Sidney Powell, Flynn’s defense attorney, asked the courts for leniency suggesting probation, instead of prosecutors demands to sentence Flynn for up to six months in prison for one count of lying to the FBI. Her memo also detailed major issues she said amounts to prosecutorial misconduct in her client’s case and the reason why Flynn was coerced by prosecutors into pleading guilty.

“If after the briefing filed this Friday, the government continues to wrongfully on the path to sentencing, Mr. Flynn should be given probation,” she told SaraACarter.com. “He is innocent of all charges, he is a national treasure, and he is a patriot. This entire prosecution is a travesty of justice and a grotesque abuse of power by the FBI and DOJ while they still hide the original 302 that shows he told the truth.”

Judge Emmet Sullivan, who is presiding over Flynn’s case, granted Powell’s request for a delay. Last week, Sullivan pushed Flynn’s sentencing hearing from Jan. 28 to Feb. 27.

Flynn has requested to withdraw his guilty plea, which was an agreement he made while cooperating with former Robert Mueller’s special counsel’s office when it began investigation the now debunked theory that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 election. At the time, he had pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators about the content of his phone conversation with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak to the U.S.

In Powell’s memo to the court she argues to Sullivan that “this court should swiftly reject the government’s brazen attempt to punish Mr. Flynn for refusing to compose rather than sing.”

“The reversal of its sentencing position is not only unjust, it is unlawful,” she noted. “If left unchecked, it will send a dangerous message to cooperators – give testimony consistent with the government’s theory of the case, regardless of veracity, or pay the price with your freedom.”

Washington State Urges Judge to Block $3.6B Pentagon Funds for Border Wall

The state of Washington tried to convince a federal judge Thursday that the Trump administration’s plan to divert Pentagon funds for border wall construction is illegal and should be immediately stopped.

Attorney General Bob Ferguson sued this past September to block reprogramming of $3.6 billion in congressionally approved military construction projects, including $88 million for an addition to the Evergreen State’s Bangor submarine base, saying the state will lose millions in tax revenues.

Trump declared a national emergency in February 2019 to get money from the federal budget after Congress only approved $1.4 billion for the southern border wall construction.

Calling the funding decision an “unprecedented power grab,” Assistant Attorney General Andrew Hughes, representing the state, said the Trump administration is using the money to further domestic policy goals and not a national emergency as required by statute.

Hughes asked U.S. District Judge Barbara Rothstein to set aside the order seizing the funds in its entirety, not just Washington state’s portion.

“Some of the funds have already been transferred,” Rothstein said. “Are you suggesting I undo that?”

Hughes replied there is no basis to permit the federal government to continue funding projects that violate the Constitution. He said a narrow, Washington-specific injunction would not stop the illegal seizure of funds.

Andrew Warden, representing the Justice Department, argued Washington state has no standing to bring suit based on “hypothetical loss of future tax revenues.”

Hughes countered that the state taxes federal contractors directly, so financial damages are accountable.

He said without a vacatur or injunction, Washington state faces irreparable economic harm.

“Vacatur is a new twist,” Rothstein said, and asked both sides for additional time past a Feb. 1 deadline to consider the matter.

“You’ll get a better order,” she said, promising a decision by March 1.

While Washington state’s lawsuit takes a different tack, the fight against Trump’s national emergency declaration to pay for the border wall has not gone well. This month, the Fifth Circuit lifted a federal judge’s block of the $3.6 billion in Pentagon funds.

In 2019, a bill to block the money passed the House but failed to clear the Senate – though it certainly would have been vetoed by Trump in any case.

Climate refugees can’t be returned home, says landmark UN human rights ruling

It is unlawful for governments to return people to countries where their lives might be threatened by the climate crisis, a landmark ruling by the United Nations human rights committee has found.

The judgment – which is the first of its kind – represents a legal “tipping point” and a moment that “opens the doorway” to future protection claims for people whose lives and wellbeing have been threatened due to global heating, experts say.

Tens of millions of people are expected to be displaced by global heating in the next decade.

Waiting for the tide to turn: Kiribati’s fight for survival

The judgment relates to the case of Ioane Teitiota, a man from the Pacific nation of Kiribati, which is considered one of the countries most threatened by rising sea levels. He applied for protection in New Zealand in 2013, claiming his and his family’s lives were at risk.

The committee heard evidence of overcrowding on the island of South Tarawa, where Teitiota lived, saying that the population there had increased from 1,641 in 1947 to 50,000 in 2010 due to sea level rising leading to other islands becoming uninhabitable, which had led to violence and social tensions.

He also spoke of the lack of fresh water and difficulty growing crops due to salinity of the water table causing serious health issues for his family. He said that as Kiribati was predicted to be uninhabitable in 10 to 15 years, his life was endangered by remaining there.

The New Zealand courts rejected Teitiota’s claim for protection. The UN human rights committee upheld New Zealand’s decision on the grounds that while “sea level rise is likely to render the republic of Kiribati uninhabitable … the timeframe of 10 to 15 years, as suggested by [Teitiota], could allow for intervening acts by the republic of Kiribati, with the assistance of the international community, to take affirmative measures to protect and, where necessary, relocate its population”.

However experts say the committee’s ruling opens the way for other claims based on the threat to life posed by the climate crisis. The committee ruled that “the effects of climate change in receiving states may expose individuals to a violation of their rights … thereby triggering the non-refoulement obligations of sending states”.

“On a personal level for Ioane and his family it is bad news, because obviously it’s decided that his claim that his right to life was threatened in Kiribati wasn’t strong enough,” said Kate Schuetze, Pacific researcher for Amnesty International. “But they said it wasn’t strong enough based on his personal circumstances and the evidence they put before the court and then they made some very strong statements clarifying the roles and responsibilities of states to say … there would be a trigger of international responsibility for other governments not to return people to places where their life is at risk because of climate-induced changes.”

While the judgment is not formally binding on countries, it points to legal obligations that countries have under international law.

“What’s really important here, and why it’s quite a landmark case, is that the committee recognised that without robust action on climate at some point in the future it could well be that governments will, under international human rights law, be prohibited from sending people to places where their life is at risk or where they would face inhuman or degrading treatment,” said Prof Jane McAdam, director of the Kaldor centre for international refugee law at the University of New South Wales.

“Even though in this particular case there was no violation found, it effectively put governments on notice.

“There have been cases brought in Australia and New Zealand since the mid-1990s about environmental harm and climate change and to date they’ve all been unsuccessful … But now we’ve got a very clear, legal authoritative statement now that it’s almost like: watch this space.”

Schuetze said there were roughly a dozen cases in the New Zealand court system similar to Teitiota’s, with people, mostly from Tuvalu and Kiribati, claiming the impacts of the climate crisis affected their right to life.

“The Pacific Islands will be the canary in the coalmines for climate-induced migrants,” said Schuetze.

“The message in this case is clear: Pacific Island states don’t need to be underwater before triggering those human rights obligations … I think we will see those cases start to emerge.”

The FICTIONAL Coronavirus Acute Pulmonary Syndrome (CAPS) is an acute respiratory

infection that can progress to pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. It is

caused by a swine-origin coronavirus (CAPS virus).

The CAPS virus is from the same family of viruses as SARS and MERS but is antigenically

distinct. The virus has existed in the fruit bat population for many years and has been

transmitted to domestic pigs. The virus causes mild disease in pigs.

Like SARS and MERS, a mutation in the CAPS virus enabled human infection, leading to one

or more spillover events to pig farmers in South America, but with limited human-tohuman spread. Like SARS, a further mutation in the CAPS virus later enabled efficient

human-to-human transmission.

The CAPS virus is more transmissible in mild cases than SARS-CoV, and spread by mildly

symptomatic individuals is possible. Transmission is via the respiratory route, mostly by

respiratory droplets, with some proportion being airborne during aerosol-generating

medical procedures.

• Approximately 50% of CAPS cases require hospitalization, many of them in an

intensive care unit (ICU).

• The CAPS fatality rate in hospitalized patients is about 14%.

• The overall case fatality rate (CFR) is 7%.

• The average R0 is 1.74.

• The incubation period ranges from 5 to 7 days.

There is no licensed vaccine for any coronavirus, although some are in development for

SARS and MERS. There is no antiviral drug with an indication for coronavirus treatment,

although there are several drugs, including anti-HIV drugs, that might be effective. In this

scenario, there is one FICTIONAL HIV antiviral—extranavir—that may be effective for

treatment or prophylaxis of CAPS.

According to TV ratings for the first two days of the trial, the six news networks covering Trump’s impeachment averaged a little over 11 million viewers combined, with Fox News leading the pack with some 2,654,000 on their channel from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Viewership dropped by about 20 percent on Wednesday, with a total of 8,858,000 million watching; MSNBC led day two with 1,793,000 tuning in.

Compared to other televised political moments of historical importance, it’s a fairly weak showing. In 2018, the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh drew an audience of 20.4 million on the six broadcast networks. In 2018, the midterms also pulled in a substantial 36.1 million, a greater audience than the four previous midterms. And though it may not be totally fair to compare the impeachment trial to the last presidential election, the 2016 motherlode event drew an audience of 71 million.

Perhaps a more telling comparison can be found on the news networks’ coverage on the same days as the trial. According to Nielsen data, Sean Hannity drew 4,246,000 million viewers — double the network’s daytime impeachment audience — leading an impressive Wednesday on Fox News, with Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson bringing in 3.93 million and 3.73 million respectively. At MSNBC, Rachel Maddow also delivered with 2.99 million viewers — over 1 million more than the daytime showing for the impeachment trial.

There are reasons for the underwhelming performance thus far: Day one was a 13-hour event, full of slow procedures that set the terms for the remainder of the trial. The Nielsen data also doesn’t account for online streaming: Impeachment viewers may be more likely to check in periodically on a C-SPAN stream throughout the day, rather than November audiences glued to a night of gripping election coverage on TV. As for Maddow and Hannity’s strong numbers, the hosts almost certainly benefitted from viewers looking for their politically-preferred recap. And unlike recent election specials, the ultimate result of the impeachment show is already decided, barring the total dissolution of Mitch McConnell’s political will.

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night, WALB News 10 received a call that a woman was told President Jimmy Carter had passed away and that it was on social media. As protocol, the newsroom rushed to contact officials to confirm or deny his death. In a sigh of relief, we were told Carter was still alive. But how did all of this start? It appears it began with a Twitter post.

While reaching out to officials about the condition of Carter, we also began checking social media to find out who was talking about the death of the former president and native of South Georgia. He is a beloved and active figure in the area, especially in his hometown of Plains, where he was a peanut farmer before becoming the commander and chief of the United States.

The only social media “connection” we could find about the “death” of Jimmy Carter, came from Planters Peanuts.

On Monday, Planters Peanuts put out a commercial about the death of Mr. Peanut, as in the mascot for the company, not the peanut farmer turned president. However, a Twitter post about Mr. Peanut’s death had some asking if Carter had died.

Now, we do not know if this is where the rumors started, however, it is the only social media reference to Carter’s “death” we could find.

But according to Jill Stuckey with the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site, as far as she knows, the 95-year-old former president is fine.

Before we could even ask about Carter, she already had the answer for us. Apparently, we were not the first to reach out to her about his condition Wednesday. She even received another phone call as we were getting off the phone with her.

So for those concerned about Former President Jimmy Carter, he is doing fine. And we send our best to Planters Peanuts on the loss of its beloved figurehead.

A senior Iranian political strategist linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hassan Abbasi, suggested taking Americans hostage and demanding ransoms to make up for losses caused by U.S. economic sanctions in a video surfacing Thursday.

In a video that surfaced online Wednesday, Abbasi, who is the head of the IRGC-affiliated think tank Andishkadeh Yaghin, makes the arguments during a speech on January 17 in a mosque in the Iranian city of Nowshahr.

The IRGC is a U.S.-designated terrorist organization.

“Do you want to solve the sanctions problem? Our naval forces should take 10 or 20 Americans as hostage every month,” he explained. “For each one of them, we should get $1 billion. If we get $1 billion per week, and the year has around 50 weeks. That’s at least $50 billion.”
