A rare moment where Saudi and Iranian vessels were in a direct standoff in what described as Saudi territorial waters has been revealed Saturday by Saudi state news agency SPA.
Saudi Arabia says its coast guard forced no less than three Iranian vessels out of its territorial waters after firing warning shots.
While it's unclear whether the Iranian boats had military personnel or perhaps civilian fishermen, the Saudi maritime border patrol issued repeated warnings, and then fired shots signaling it was ready to engage, SPA described.

Far-fetched? Not according to data I have collected on what liberal white Americans actually believe.”
—Notice Kaufmann isn’t talking merely about the extreme left but American liberals. This is chilling stuff but unsurprising to me. In my book “Guilty by Reason of Insanity,” I warned that socialism is not the only terrible idea the left is promoting. I wrote: “The left isn’t turning to socialism just because its members think it’s more equitable than capitalism but also because they seek revenge against America’s founding generation and its successor beneficiaries. They want to eradicate the Western tradition that spawned our unique American culture because it allegedly led to continental larceny against Native Americans, is in irredeemable moral debt over slavery, and is forever culpable for oppressing minorities and women through white privilege and the inherent exploitation of capitalism.” I don’t claim to be a prophet, but is my statement not vindicated by America’s present turmoil?
—Kaufmann polled American liberals to gauge their willingness “to jettison the country’s cultural identity.” On May 7 (before the George Floyd killing), he surveyed a sample of 870 Americans who “lean young, liberal, and white.” The group was not representative of the American population at large but drawn from the Amazon Mechanical Turk and Prolific Academic survey platforms used by thousands of academics. He consciously removed conservatives and centrists to focus only on self-described liberals. He presented them with 16 “outlandish” statements and was “amazed” by their answers. He surveyed them again on June 15, after the Floyd killing and subsequent protests, and found that things “had gotten even crazier.”
—He asked them to agree or disagree that Americans should:
1. Rebalance the history taught in schools until its voices and subjects reflect the demographics of the population and heritage of Native people and citizens of color
“2. Move, after public consultation, to a new American anthem that better reflects our diversity as a people
“3. Rename our cities and towns until they match the demographics of the population
“4. Rebalance the art shown in museums across the country until an analysis of content shows that it reflects the demography of the population and perspective of Native people and citizens of color
“5. Move, after an open public process, to a new name for our country that better reflects the contributions of Native Americans and our diversity as a people
“6. Rename our states until they better reflect the heritage of Native people and citizens of color
“7. Gradually replace many older public buildings with new structures that don’t perpetuate a Eurocentric order, until a more representative public space is achieved
“8. Respectfully remove the monument to four white male presidents at Mount Rushmore, as they presided over the conquest of Native people and repression of women and minorities
“9. Allow our public parks to return to their natural state, before a European sense of order was imposed upon them
“10. Move, after public consultation, to a new American flag that better reflects our diversity as a people
“11. Consider adopting a new national language, that will be forged from the immigrant and Native linguistic diversity of this country’s past.
“12. Remove existing statues of white men from public spaces until the stock of statues matches the demographics of the population—Kaufmann reports: “Every one of these proposals represents a radical blow to American cultural nationhood. Yet … six of them carry the support of more than 50 percent of committed liberals … Eight are backed by a majority of the 40 percent of liberals who identify as ‘very liberal.’ Some 80 percent of those who have made up their mind would replace the national anthem and constitution.”

Paschi Board to Meet on Transfer of Bad Loans
The board of Banca Monte Dei Paschi di Siena SpA is expected to meet Monday to weigh a plan to clear as much as 9 billion euros ($10.1 billion) of soured loans from its books and pave the way for privatization of the world’s oldest bank, Il Messaggero reported on Sunday.
The plan to move the non-performing and unlikely-to-be-paid loans to state-backed debt manager Amco is in its final stages, the newspaper said, citing unnamed sources at the Italian Treasury.
In May, the European Union said Paschi’s planned transfer of bad loans to Amco didn’t constitute improper government assistance, wrapping up months of talks between the Italian Treasury and the European Commission over the bank’s request to offload the loans.
The move would significantly reduce the bank’s cost of risk and probably make Monte Paschi more attractive in a takeover or merger.
Monte Paschi, founded in 1472, is 68% owned by the Italian state after a government-backed recapitalization in 2017.

UPDATE: Walmart employee and shooter killed in shooting at distribution center
RED BLUFF, Calif. — A late-night update from Tehama County Sheriff's Deputies revealed they do not believe there is a connection between a shooting at the Red Bluff Walmart distribution center and another shooting in Shingletown. Deputies also said the suspect was one of two people killed in the incident.
The suspect is a 31-year-old man and former employee of Walmart. Deputies would not release his name until his family had been notified. An employee of Walmart was killed during the incident. Martin Haro-Lozano of Orland was killed but deputies would not confirm how he died pending an autopsy.
Six people were taken from the scene to the hospital but deputies could not provide specifics about the nature of their injuries.

Wray made the revelation in an interview with Fox News aired on June 24.
While he isn’t identified by name in the report by the Department of Justice Inspector General (IG), Kevin Clinesmith was the FBI attorney who altered an email about Page’s association with the CIA by injecting “not a source” into the text, making it appear as though Page wasn’t affiliated with the spy agency.
Clinesmith’s alteration resulted in one of the “17 significant errors and omissions” identified by the IG in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) applications on Page.
“And that individual no longer works with the FBI, and I don’t want to get out in front of the Durham investigation,” Wray said, referring to the criminal inquiry being conducted by U.S. Attorney John Durham, who is looking into potential criminality tied to Crossfire Hurricane, the codename for the FBI’s probe of the Trump campaign.
After learning of Clinesmith’s email forgery, a judge on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court ordered the FBI to identify all of the surveillance applications Clinesmith was involved in. The court also barred Clinesmith from participating in the preparation of future FISA applications.
While Clinesmith wasn’t named in the IG report on the Page FISA applications, Sen. Lindsey Graham identified him in December last year as the lawyer behind the altered email. Earlier this month, the Senate Judiciary Committee authorized Graham, the panel’s chairman, to issue a subpoena for Clinesmith’s testimony.
In addition to working as the attorney on the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, Clinesmith worked on the probe into Hillary Clinton’s unauthorized use of a private email server to conduct government business during her tenure as secretary of state.
Clinesmith’s work on the Clinton probe earned him an entire section in a separate IG report on the Clinton investigation, which found that he sent numerous politically charged messages ridiculing then-candidate Trump. After Trump was elected in November 2016, Clinesmith wrote to another attorney, “I’m just devastated.”
“I am so stressed about what I could have done differently,” Clinesmith wrote. “I just can’t imagine the systematic disassembly of the progress we made over the last 8 years. ACA [the Affordable Care Act] is gone. Who knows if the rhetoric about deporting people, walls, and crap is true. I honestly feel like there is going to be a lot more gun issues, too, the crazies won finally. This is the tea party on steroids. And the GOP is going to be lost, they have to deal with an incumbent in 4 years. We have to fight this again. Also Pence is stupid.”
These and other messages led to Clinesmith’s removal from the special counsel inquiry by Robert Mueller, who took over the Crossfire Hurricane probe in May 2017.
Clinesmith was one of several FBI personnel present during the interview of Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, according to a transcript of Papadopoulos’s congressional deposition.
Clinesmith was among a group of key FBI officials who displayed intense political bias while working on two of the FBI’s most consequential investigations in years, involving the two top presidential candidates in the 2016 election, Clinton and Trump. The bias, without exception, was in favor of Clinton and against Trump.
The inspector general, Michael Horowitz, ultimately concluded that while the bias clouded the two investigations, his team couldn’t find evidence that the bias contributed to any investigative decisions. Horowitz found it inexplicable how so many errors could have been made by teams of hand-selected people working on the most significant FBI probe at the time.
The FBI didn’t respond to a request by The Epoch Times to clarify whether Clinesmith resigned or was fired.
Clinesmith’s DC Bar license is in good standing with no disciplinary actions on file, according to the DC Bar website.
