hmm let's see, were you on the site, either A or B? did you hold the button down instead of just pressing? and did they have an Echo (jap defender with the obnoxious drones that fire a drunk ray)? Echo drone drunk ray interupts planting the defuser
from your description, I think most likely scenario is that you didn't hold the button down for the whole action. or maybe you were just dropping it and picking it up instead of planting. or maybe you were walking around, moving off-site, which would explain the F key going away

I was moving around the bomb thingy and the F key kept disappearing when I was trying to plant. There was no Jap lass on the enemy team either. No matter where I was the F key kept showing up and instantly going away again

okay so when you're off site, it says "hold F to drop the defuser", this just drops it so an ally can pick it up instead, or just chuck it at him and then run away so it's his problem kek
once you're on site, it says 'hold F to plant the defuser', you need enough space in front of you to plant it. the 'hold F…' thing goes away if there's an object right in front of you 'cause then there's not enough space and it's not a valid place to plant. maybe that is what was happening
