/mu/ makes a physical copy
Alright faggots, as promised, I decided to make actual CDs for an Autistic Rage Festival album, and since we couldn't really decide which one should it be, I decided it should be no other than the debut.
>How do I get one?
You send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we talk about it.
>How much it costs?
The shipping cost is all you need to pay for, which is up to you how much you want to pay:
<If you want registered mail, it will cost 2020 HUF to European countries (not only EU members) and 2175 HUF to the rest of the world.
<If you say fuck it gimme your cheapest, that will be 835 HUF ($2.96) to Europe and 935 HUF ($3.32) to the rest of the world.
The cheapest option means the it won't be registered, I can't track it down and if this shit gets lost on the way to you it will be fucking lost and the post office wont refund. It also arrives like weeks later.
The package obviously ships from Hungary, it contains a gluten free fragile-ass jewel case and 2 CDs I will draw dicks on. I will also draw other shit on it if you ask nicely.
You can listen to the masterpiece here:
I'm not sure how many of y'all gonna order one, I can make about 10 copies, so grab it while it's hot.

Has Catalog 3 ever leaked? The album was released 33 years ago, I find it hard to believe that in all that time nobody has ever released so much as a single song from the album.
Did it even exist at all? Is it just a massive troll from Michael and Marcus? I don't see why they'd openly talk about the existence of an album they never intended to re-release.

i have this really nice multi effects pedal / preamp, and i use it with my headphones instead of an amp. ive been trying to record it by connecting my audio splitter to the pedal and then to the pc and my headphones, but i ran into a problem:
my pcs mic jack records things just fine, but it outputs static noise. this wouldnt be so bad, except my current audio splitter doesnt have a specific input, so i can hear the static thru my headphones.
can anyone recommend me an audio splitter that has one input and two or more outputs? and dont just say shit like "all of this type of audio splitter works", i need a specific model that you already own and can test out.
budget: under 20$
it needs to be on amazon or ebay

Eminem – “Music To Be Murdered By” Sold Over 200,000 units
Em is irrelevant comments in 3,2,1..
I fucking hate how pirating music has become more of a bitch over the years.
In 2013 if I wanted an album, I literally just had to type in "[album name] torrent" and I'd get FLAC results on the first page.
Since around 2017, I've noticed music pirating has gotten faggier. Now you have to go on SLSK and dick around with some P2P faggots to find anything that isn't absolute normalfag shit. I hate private trackers and P2P networks where you actually have to talk to people.
I just want an artist's discog without some faggot being like "but what can you give me?".
Why has it gotten this way? What was wrong with dumping music onto public trackers? You can still find tons of music on clearnet public trackers, but now it's YouTube-quality shit. Music streaming has made everybody complacent with shit audio fidelity.
>inb4 some apologist goes 'OH BUT THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN" just because they've never personally experienced it
Look, I get if you only ever pirate semi-known bands like Death Grips or King Gizzard this might not be a big problem, but if you're like me and you like obscure local shit then you're shit outta luck.

yeah I know "its a meme genre" and I'm late to the party but aside from Macintosh Plus, Saint Pepsi and Blank Banshee I don't know the essential releases too well. give me (must have 2 albums under their belts or more) of vaporwave and its various subgenres, the essentials. I initially brushed it off as glorified muzak but I get it now.
I tried making a mixtape, what do you guys think?

Operation: Christmas Eve
Let's make Tatsuro-San an international hit for Christmas this year
1. Find local radio stations playing Christmas Music
2. Find their phone numbers on the internet. Make a list of them.
3. Call in and request "Christmas Eve" by Tatsuro Yamashita. Be sure to specify the English version spell out his name if needed. If they say they can't play it, move on to the next station's number on the list
4. Repeat step 3 daily
Rank albums of artists you like
1: Dead Man's Party (1985)
2: Nothing to Fear (1982)
3: Only a Lad (1981)
4: So-Lo (1984)
5: Good for Your Soul (1983)
6: Dark at the End of the Tunnel (1990)
7: Boi-Ngo (1987)
8: Boingo (1994)
I sometimes forget about "Nothing to Fear" despite it having some of their best work. I used to really love "Only a Lad", but now I feel it's a bit too brazen at moments. "Boingo" suffers from long and meandering songs as well as Danny Elfman not having the voice for early 90s alt rock. "Dead Man's Party" blends their eccentric side and pop/dance side very well, while "Boi-Ngo" comes off as more of a diet version of that.
Is psychedelic rock just not what I think it is? I've yet to find anything that tops pic related. Most of it just sounds like shitty garage rock or a boring drone fest. I just want something trippy/magical sounding, like Pink Floyd's Saucerful of Secrets. Maybe even something like The Plastic Cloud, even though it's more reserved there's just something about it.
I recently made a program that makes it very easy to turn audio files into webms that you can post in 8chan, without having to fiddle with a command line or install anything. Thought you guys might have use for it.
If you have suggestions or improvements then let me know here >>>/mage/158
Ficitonal band names
Try to come up with some, maybe add what kind of genre they'd be
>Hour of the Crystal Sun (Drone metal)
>Echo Return (IDM - Experimental)

>Maximum Hyperpower! (Industrial rock)
>55 Tears (Pop punk)

Band shirt posers
It should become a trend to do vid related and rip the shirts off if they are unable to answer such a simple question. Until now I never realized how much of a scourge this cancer is on the music community at large.
If the songs they list are the 3 main hits for that band (i.e. Enter Sandman, NEM and MoP for Metallica, Teen Spirit, Come As You Are and Heart Shaped Box for Nirvana) they should be required to name another 3. Alternately, they should be made to name at least 5 of their albums along with the year they released, and either of these within 15 seconds max. Exception to obvious outliers like NMH of course. If they can answer neither question in a satisfactory manner, off goes the shirt, straight into the trash with no mercy.
The Butterfly Effect in the music industry
If you could change one singular event in musical history, what would you change?
For me, it would have to be Jason Newsted going to the specific Super Bowl Party he went to in 1995. Either the vehicle he was in breaks down, or he becomes deathly ill, or whatever. He just plain doesn't make it to the destination, that's the important part.
>He never meets the Echobrain guys at that party
>He never teaches them things he learned while in Metallica
>He dedicates his full time to Metallica
>He never gets the need to take time off, and even if he does it's not for a spinoff project
>Lars and James never get pissy over Jason wanting to do something else
>Jason Newsted never leaves Metallica
>St. Anger is never made, and even if it is, it's not as shit
Granted, we'd lose the SKOM documentary and all those lulzworthy moments and we'd probably never see the Mexican Crab become its bassist, but I think they're worthy sacrifices.
Ok so Ive spent all my time measuring frequency responses of every 5.25 speaker I can find in my house to try and pull a +/- 3 db response curve to ride in the mids so I can mix off a bootleg coattails of avantone mixcubes. Why? Because I'm a cheap asshole. So I've spent $20 bucks on a calibrated mic, and $30 on a Chinese amp to power these shitty speakers. I am determined to find a cheap flat monitor to shove it to the krk assholes. So far all I got is a +/- 5 db auratone clone. Now I'm thinking I should have bought some micca mb42x or nht superzeros. What am I doing with my life?
Anyone got good ideas for some monitors that are cheat code acceptable? Plus studio monitors thread.
Send me a hidden gem like Light bending in or Sangam, along those lines. I'll give you my reccs so other anons can find great artists.
Pyravid is great in general but I like Googleplex bionetwork especially since it's nice to meditate to or just unwind to. It's apart of the retrofuture genre of vaporwave so it'll have sci-fi feels but a 80's interpretation of sci-fi.
I wanna say positive electrons is dreampunk, but if it's not you'll probably understand where im coming from with it's sound. Antimatter is a chill song that I listen to if im having a hard time sleeping. But it's good in general.
Ganz Feld:Bethany is the other side of the trapwave genre, where as BB is more on the lively side GanzFeld has obvious dreampunk influences and is great music to blaze up to with the boys. (unless they're the type that gets mad if a song isn't rap).
Bands with weird or unusual lineup?
What are some bands that have an unusual lineup? Bands that don't feature the typical lineup of vocals, guitar, bass, and drums.
I found a thread on another forum about the topic, so I'm just gonna copypaste the bands people were mentioning there.
Cop Shoot Cop - high-end bass guitar, low-end bass guitar, sampler, drums
Morphine - 2-string slide bass, baritone sax, drums
The Six & Violence - two vocalists, guitar, bass, one guy on the drums, cymbalist
Drums and Tuba - drums, tuba, guitar
The Dirtbombs - guitar, fuzz bass, clean bass, two drummers
Botanist - harmonium, two hammered dulcimers, 12-string bass, and drums (black metal)
Guns n' Roses - inexplicably has had a "sub-bass" / effects synth player since the early 2000s or something
HORSE the Band - typical lineup, but tours with a triangle player
Lightning Bolt - One extremely distorted bass in cello tuning and a drummer who yells into an equally distorted microphone taped to a mask he wears while performing
Crash of Rhinos - Two basses, two guitars, drums. Everyone contributes vocals.
Brain Tentacles - Sax, drums, bass (metal)
Tilly and the Wall - tap dancing instead of drums
Author & Punisher - A bunch of homemade contraptions all controlled by one man who is basically surrounded by them
Captured! by Robots - similar to author and punisher
Spike Jones and his City Slickers Band
Yellowcard - typical lineup but has a violinist (pop punk)
Hugo Largo - two bassists, violin, vocalist
That Dog - has a violinist (90s alt-rock)
X-Ray Spex - punk band with saxophone
Hangedup - drums and viola
Death From Above - bass, drums
Texas Chainsaw Orchestra - self-explanatory
Tortoise - at one point was one guitarist, two bassists, a drummer and a second drummer/mallet percussionist
Neoandertals - only has a bassist and a drummer in very guitar heavy genre
L' Ensemble Volta - 2 ondes Martinot, electric guitar and percussion
잠비나이 [Jambinai] - guitar, haegeum, geomungo
Ruins - drums, bass, zeuhl vox
Comets on Fire - guitar, bass, drums, echoplex
Blue Man Group - PVC pipes
Death Sentence'': Panda! - drums, pitchshifted clarinet, flute (noise rock)
Le Singe Blanc - two bass players and a drummer, also sing gibberish
Gum Takes Tooth - one guy plays drums, the other guy runs those drums through a table of electronics
Mr Marcaille - one dude, plays cello and two kick drums while singing (metal)
Joey Molinaro - one guy, plays violin while stomping (acoustic grindcore)
The White Mice - drums, bass, noise electronics
Dirty Three - guitar, violin, and drums
Trophies - spoken word, trombone, laptop, double bass, fretless guitar, drums
Pivixki - prepared piano and drums (grindcore)
The New Songs - two guitars, piano and voice, but unusual guitars and extra instruments like baroque guitars and zithers
EXO-TECH - typical lineup but has a violinist, saxophonist, and extra percussionist
New Rammstein album is out

It's pretty good imo. Each song has a very distinct character and theme.
Album interpretations that you believe are better than the intended message.
Everyone has that one album you've gone into blind, maybe you never even knew anything about the artist who made it, you listen to it and it's amazing, you relate to it and the lyrics, all of the music greatly, you feel as though you know the album as well as the creators, and then you look it up and it turns out you were dead wrong about the meaning the whole time.
But fuck the true meaning your interpretation is far better than the fags who made the original music.
For me it's Pink Floyd's The Wall.
I heard the album and thought it was great, I managed to get an entire story out of it and that was intended sure but the one I got was a literal viewpoint of the lyrics, a society locked inside a wall, and all the characters in it and all their experiences. It was great. Then I learned years later that it was actually a personal autobiography about the band pretty much. Don't know about you but my version is far superior to their original meaning.
Anyone else feel this way about certain albums? Which one's were they?

What current punk/hxc has caught your attention?
The point a band loses its soul
Anyone else notice this phenomenon? Basically, a music act makes their magnum opus, goes on tour for an extended period of time, and when they come back they never quite reach the heights of their previous work. They make little to no memorable hits, and the few that do chart are often forgotten in the grand scheme of things.
>Releases Black Album in 1991
>Goes touring for 4 years
>Releases Load in 1996
>Releases The Wall in 1979
>Goes touring for 2 years, works on a movie the year after
>Releases TFC in 1983
>Releases Achtung Baby in 1991
>Goes touring for 5 years but does release another album in this timeframe
>Releases Pop in 1997
And I'm not really referring to the "sell out" albums. A band or singer can continue to grow stronger even after they have "sold out", case in point R.E.M. who made AFTP in 1992 yet had a string of further successes for many years after its release. I'm referring to the band's definitive album with an EP's worth of chart-topping hits, followed by a longass tour where they seem to have the life sucked out of them, before a new album which is a mere shadow of its predecessor. I could list more examples but those were the 3 I distinctly recall.

When did this guy stop being so popular? He's the second highest selling music artist of all time, surpassed only by The Beatles. In fact, I like his music more than The Beatles. I used to listen to him sing first thing in the morning and again before bed. But one day, the music stopped. Now nobody listens to his music. It's like nobody even remembers him.
2019 Summer Infinity Cup
The Infinity Cup is returning once again, and 8chan's boards will be fighting it out on the pitch to claim divegrass supremacy. As a board that has participated in the Cup at one point or another in its history, you are invited to the reveal stream for 2019 Summer edition of the Cup. On Saturday June 22nd, at 3 PM EDT/7 PM UTC, on cytu.be/r/8cup I'll be giving you guys an early look at the Cup's 5th edition, which will include revamped aesthetics, team stadiums and other quality of life improvements I've figured out how to do in PES 17. Hopefully this will get anons back on board with the Cup, considering it has struggled mightily since its 2nd incarnation.
So how is it going to go down? I'll be staging a couple of exhibition matches between teams using their rosters from the last Cup, and we'll shitpost our merry way through the stream. Once the stream ends, entries will be open for the Cup, and boards can start putting together/editing their rosters and kits. Entries will close in early July, the field will be determined, and the Group Draw will take place approximately a week before the Cup kicks off in August. I'm also hoping to possibly introduce managers for the Cup, although I'm still working out the details to keep this from devolving into a namefag dick measuring contest. I hope you all will tune in, and in case you aren't caught up on your board's history, I've provided some links below to get you caught up:

Is this generation the peak of pop music?
With 6ix9ine and YNW Melly in jail, Soundcloud rappers dying left and right, old rappers all irrelevant, k pop and foreign pop bigger than ever, and post modern music dominating the market is this the generation where pop peaks and dies?
Two """""artists""""" I think encompass all my points is "Throw Shit at the Wall til' it Sticks X" and "Not like the other girls silly boys."
These two have been shilled like hell over the past year and a few months but it's their styles that make things clear.
Jewish Cumdump Girl in Fig 2. is clearly a composite image of various semi underground trends from the past years which became popular.
-Middle age post modernism.
She clearly stole her entire aesthetic from emo and Soundcloud rap, mixed heavily with Tumblr while her musical style was also Tumblr and Middle Age Post Modern Female Musicianship (Melanie Martinez, Emika, etc, you know the ones.) And as such her fanbase is mostly Tumblrite/Ex Tumblrite Middle Age women and teenage girls. As such she can be labelled as Post Tumblr Soundcloud Pop. Highly disgusting I know but to make us both feel better we all know she probably spends her time being raped over and over by kike producers in exchange for popularity, very funny indeed.
Post Modern Nas here is a much shorter analysis.
Looking at his early work it's clear to tell this nigger was trying to be like any other rapper. (Thanos, etc.) However after his first and only hit (which came only because the WOKE crowd accused Billboard of racism for taking it off the Country charts when it clearly wasn't Country.) Has defined him.
Now in every single interview after Ram Ranch he's seen with a cowboy hat and it's clear he knows he struck gold and he's sucking it dry already with only that one hit whether or not he becomes an official one hit wonder is yet to be seen but it's obvious now that he's taking this country rap persona to the fullest.
With this it becomes clear that we live in a society
And said society has become so muddled with influences and trying to popularity mine even as a pop musician that it's going in a path of self destruction and even normalfags will eventually realize this.
So my question is will we see pop music die within this generation?
30 years ago a rapping cowboy wouldn't even have existed he would have been some satirist character in some college students animation about "capitalism bad."
Well the future is now. And it's just as hopeless as dystopian media warned us about. My prediction is that pop music will eventually die like disco did now that it seems rap has died again and it's being absorbed into pop (thus making previous predictions of rap killing pop and taking over invalid) and we will get a few good years of underground music becoming cool again outside of the mainstream.
why do people claim classicals superiority? seriously, its as if classical fans just decided one day that radio music is the end all be all to non classical fans. riveting masterpieces such asanconlon nancarrows study for player piano no. 3a & no. 37, don ellis orchestras- 33 222 1 222, and tchaikovskys symphony no. 6 are all examples of modern music that is either on par with most "classical" music or actually sounds better than most of this "genre".

What are you listening to? What do you think some essential NS songs/albums/artists are?
What are your standards for good music?
I only have two:
>"Every song needs to have lyrics as good as the instrumental. If one of them is worse than the other, the song is automatically a dud."
>"If every song sounds the same over a long period of time, it negates any good it had in the first place. You get sick of it like eating nothing but apples for the next few months."
Do you guys like progressive rock? I'm listening to this right now, apart from the cheesey lyrics it's pretty good. It's really good even. It has kind of a dance-y new wave feel, and maybe the slightest hint of jazz. Can we talk about prog? This board is pretty dead. Let's have a comfy thread. Give me some recs please.
