IN CASE 8CHAN IS DOWN: http://txti.es/monarchy FOR NEWS ABOUT WHERE TO REGROUP

 No.932

This is a thread I'll use to be a little less aloof and talk about minor and meta stuff: general feedback, accepting submissions for flags, banners, moderation, and rules, etc.. A court, if you will.

It seems like the board got reset a day somehow for a small time. It appears to have been another board glitch now that they're back.

The flags are still not enabled on the board. I have had a support thread up for about a week now. I'll get a response every few days telling me to alphabetize the flags or something, and then it dies again. I've tried every permutation possible to me under the board options. Still no go.

In fact, the reason that the posts have now re-appeared is because I tried setting the board flags check again and…that appears to have restored the other posts.

In short, like a second lieutenant I have no idea what's going on. So, I'm opening this up here because I'm betting you all will have better help on what to do. Until the funniness is resolved, I'll leave this thread here.

Bumping your thread, OP. Fuck this gay site, the technical support sucks. Who expected anything else from a site that hired Joshua fucking Moon for a major overhaul, though?

Let's talk about tolerance, because I'll admit that I'm not a very tolerant man. I'll just air my thoughts.

>>928

The OP comes in with a picture of eating popcorn, every image is a smug pepe image. I mean, the posters here know he's not sincere, right? And for that matter, why bother being sincere with him if he's not doing the same. I really want to lock that thread and direct attention to threads where people are actually having some attempt at a more honest discussion.

>>950

I have yet to be in a board that /leftypol/ has not completely destroyed into an absolute shitshow of endless troll threads, useless discussions, and subversion. Part of me wants to nip that in the bud, part of me wants to try to give them yet another chance.

>And for that matter, why bother being sincere with him if he's not doing the same.

1. I still believe in the good in people.

2. Low-effort shitposting from the OP can still yield quality responses. It doesn't happen too often, but it happens. I never rule out that a thread can be good just because the OP is shit. What's more harmful is when there's so many of these threads that they blot out actual discussions.

>I have yet to be in a board that /leftypol/ has not completely destroyed into an absolute shitshow of endless troll threads, useless discussions, and subversion.

If you mean /liberty/, then I disagree that /leftypol/ destroyed it. That board is still one of the best. It would be even better without all the visitors from there, though

Generally, don't ban too many people. A little more than on /liberty/ and I think it's going to be fine. Maybe limit debate-threads to one per ideology, so we don't have ten lefties asking the exact same stupid question like it happens on /liberty/. Also, ban pedos on sight. These guys are the worst.

I suppose I am being a bit too pessimistic. Also, maybe a better way to look at it is that I don't want to protect the users from the outside. Lest the board's rhetoric becomes too dull.

>What's more harmful is when there's so many of these threads that they blot out actual discussions.

That's a hard line to delineate, but you give a useful suggestion:

>Maybe limit debate-threads to one per ideology, so we don't have ten lefties asking the exact same stupid question like it happens on /liberty/.

That sounds pretty decent. I'll think about a "Locking repeat threads and redirecting to another thread" not necessarily rule, but maybe "executive order."

>Also, ban pedos on sight. These guys are the worst.

In keeping a tradition of common law, this board had a SFW rule that I intend to try to keep. I believe that falls under such a purview.

Whenever flags exist again, add a nation-generic Constitutional Monarchy flag and I'll lurk/post here. Gotta have a limiting document to protect the prole from an abusive king or aristocrat. Bad apples in every bunch.

Added.

They are at the bottom of the list for now. I'll alphabetize once I'm convinced they're stable and won't break the flag collection.

Yup, I believe it's a function of 8chan in general. I'm just glad it wasn't as broken as before and I don't have to continually try different things while re-adding 50+ flags every time. Some older threads on this board don't have any flags working because of this IIRC.

Also, I was wondering when some more 'moderate' monarchists would show up.

Also also, I can't wait for someone to have fun with that Jewish flag, given all the fun going on in >>1791 .

>moderates

Yeah, I tend to be a /polk/ lurker but I'm also an American inb4 muh 56% may may, I'm a French/Scottish half-n-half so I greatly value freedoms and protecting documents… just as I get to see said documents get trampled on daily by my (((republic))).

I'll go ahead and formally introduce some of my political views/desires formally though:

>The people are the most important

>Help thy neighbor as yourself

>Capitalism is a great tool never a great goal

>Jews did everything

>Freedom of the people is essential, and the rights of the people must be guaranteed.

>The only acceptable bank is one which cannot lend money.

>The only acceptable loan is one that cannot charge interest.

>Power corrupts, Absolute power corrupts absolutely (hence limiting documents)

>Aristocrats tend to be faggots if they don't stay down to earth with the plebs.

>Taxes should be restricted to tariffs, including regional lines. This pays for basics like fire and police.

TRAINS DO YOU BUILD THEM? IF NOT WHY NOT?

>If tariffs really can't pay for everything, only a sales tax may be implemented, at a maximum of 5%. (generous)

>rule by Divine right doesn't exist, even though God does.

>muh guns muh funz (Goes with some other points but (((schlomo))) still manages to take it away.)

>Aristocrats/local govt. positions should be filled by military personnel. Thus they are doubly beholden to the people by both common law and military law.

That's all I can think of for now. It's kind of a weird bunch of points there but before I was redpilled, I was a republican by way of family… then moving on to national socialism, and now open to the idea of monarchy, with restriction. The slaughter of friendly retreating infantry by contemptuous knights at the battle of Crecy still gives me shivers.

I do not know the specific instance you mention. But in general I can understand soldiers that attack their retreating former comrades. unless it is really a forced death or glory mission for the retreating forces

I watched a short documentary on it. Apparently they disdained infantry for being peasants so much they just killed them out of disgust when they ran because the commander was an idiot and made a shitty attack

Yet this does not make sense. You see they were commoners all their life, however they only get killed once they ran away from duty. It is something that has been done long and for good reasons btw. The Romans did it, and the Prussian commoners soldiers to their comrade commoner soldiers too. Why did those aristocrats not kill these commoners beforehand? I'm sure they had time before.

Oh I see. So the nobles and the peasants ran but only the peasants got killed? In that case I'd advocate for the nobles being killed too of course. But it has quite unerstandable reasons that you'd refrain from doing so. Since you probably know the nobles personally and also might face retribution from their families after the war. You might want to view it from a different angle though. The difference to today is not that the important people's sons wouldn't get shot, the difference is that they wouldn't have had to fight in the first place.

Yeah, that's fair. But this is also the reason I'm a constitutional monarchist. Under constitutional law, it doesn't matter if the nobles are nobles, they would be tried and found guilty for murder- serving the full sentence for such crimes, in the same prison as any commoner (meaning that by happy coincidence, the prisons will be clean and rat free). Events like Crecy are simply reminders of what can happen when too few are given too much power. And yes, republics are the prime example of when too many are given too much power.

I don't want users to scroll a third of the way down to see if this board has any activity. I'm thinking of condensing up these stickies by doing the following:

- A board page for the FAQ/rules to replace the >>1 post contents.

- A board page for all the common links/references I can find to replace >>13.

- I'll delete this thread and see if >>1 can become the court thread instead with a lead-in containing all the links to the board pages.

I made a sample board page for the FAQ/board rules here:

https://8ch.net/monarchy/charter.html

I'm thinking of making the following pages:

- Board rules

- About page to contain the links/references

- Quotes pages to archive particularly funny/memorable quotes from the board

I made an about page with common monarchist apologetics, and links from the readings thread. I'll move over the "demographics" from the board rules thread to this page. Let me know if something should be added or changed. For a lot of it, I straight up copy-pasta'd other people's posts.

Edit: I moved over the Demographics section and tried to explain the major different branches of Monarchism. Let me know how much I misrepresented all your views and killed your children.
