Nya~
I was petting the cat that came over today. She kept scaring me yesterday when I was in my dad's shed as she would sneak up to me and just meow.

Some people think it's not as good as Stand Alone Complex (I do, but at the same time, Arise isn't necessarily *bad*. It was still enjoyable).
Some people really hated the fact that none of the old voice actors from SAC were brought back (neither Japanese nor English VA).
But yeah, while not as good as SAC, it's still a good series.

I haven't heard the name before, but it looks like she was part of some pretty high profile anime. Uhh, she's not dead?
I'm mostly a fan of Flipper's Guitar which he was part of, but his solo stuff is good too.
Also what is with some new Devilman thing? I don't bloody stop hearing about the soundtrack from the creators.

For a 2 hour holly wood adaption, it was pretty good. It was an anachronism of every GitS universe so far.
What pissed me off more than anything was the SJWs who came out of the woodworks to whine about the "whitewashing" before the movie came out. Because:
1) It was never confirmed "Major Kusanagi" was her real name, it was heavily implied to just be a codename.
2) Mamoru Oshii (director of the original 1995 movie) himself said he didn't see the casting of Scarlette Johanssen as a problem nor whitewashing.
3) Slightly related to point 2) but the Major's body was fully cyberized and so could have looked like anything.
4) Related to point 3), a recurring themes throughout the GitS multiverse is the idea of identity and it's nature in an increasingly cyberized (and therefore less physical) world. And thus everyone whining about "whitewashing" missed the point entirely about everything.
For all these reasons I was laughing so hard when it was finally revealed as to why her name was changed to Miia.
One thing I enjoyed was In the original 1995 movie, the Major and Project 2501 were both shot by Section 6 snipers. But in the new movie, Saito (who was epic in Stand Alone Complex); sniped the Section 6 snipers before Kuze/Project 2501 and the Major were both shot.

Oh yeah, I did indeed have my doubts about ScarJo as the Major at first.
But you know how 🍊 and I are always watching Marvel movies? She played the Black Widow in an Avengers movie months before the two characters are very similar. So yeah, I was convinced she wasn't a bad cast.
Also, while I was in the capital, I got to see some of the geisha bots & the body suit used in the movie. Along with some props from LotR. And also the one and only fully working Warthog from the Halo games in the world (Weta Workshops was commissioned to make a Halo movie, but it got cancelled).

>Ah, that would have been cool to see. Were they all at some sort of exhibition?
It was a guided tour of the Weta Workshop itself. Which sadly meant no pictures, but at the same time, it was megas coolio to see all the OG stuff used in the actual films.

Apparently all props are owned by the movie company who commissioned them so there are strict copy right laws regarding it.

Speaking of Welcome to the NHK… the Pearl Brothers did the music for that, and Kenji Ohtsuki did the ending theme for that. I'm pretty big fans of them both.

Actually I think I might know a little bit about it actually, I haven't watched any scenes though.
I remember talking to someone about the soundtrack on 4chan and unfortunately I'm not expecting it to be like their earlier work. Its a shame, I loved their song Zoo Zoo Zoo. I know the ending theme though, and Kenji is screaming like always, so that's familiar at least.
Yeah, I probably would.
