/miku/

/miku/ is almost 7 years old now. I love this board and I wish to continue moderating it for many years to come.
However, in the last few years I have become less and less active in this board. One reason has been work, but another one is the site itself. 8kun/8ch is no stranger to technical problems. Whether it is spam, data migration, hacking, posting issues or the site falling apart, this is something that we had to deal with almost every year.
Ever since 8kun got de-platformed, 8kun's performance has been bad. It might not the worst it has ever been, but it is the longest, most consistent period of time that it's been this bad. Images don't always load, posting doesn't always work, and loading a thread will often take very long.
What makes it even worse, is that sometimes it affects one user, but not others. It creates a false illusion that the website is working correctly, and that others just don't care about the board. After all, if the site is working, why isn't anyone else posting? If you are one of the users that has been affected, that doesn't make it any better. You want to post, but you can't. You try, then you give up.
8kun has become a ghost town. That doesn't affect us directly, since we don't need new anons anyway. What does affect us is the spam that invades 8kun, even when such spam doesn't reach /miku/. Why? Lately, spammers have been permabanned with very broad rangebans. Those rangebans have been affecting users unrelated to the spamming, including myself. This happened to me not once, but twice.
What should I do? Should I remain here and attempt to keep dealing with every issue in this website daily? Or, should I move to a different imageboard? The only thing that is stopping us from moving is that most of us still prefer posting here. Maybe it's because it has old /miku/ threads that we want to preserve, or maybe it's because of a few secondary features. Either way, this has gone beyond the point where I could still tolerate it.
I won't retire as the owner of 8/miku/ as long as it still exists, but I also won't attempt to post here anymore. If by some miracle every problem were to be solved, I would reconsider; Realistically, I don't expect that to happen.
If you are not new here, you know where to find me.
