Following a ceremony at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington, a C-130 transported AST2 Jaggers and his family to Joint Base Andrews. In the presence of the Commandant of the Coast Guard, Coast Guard servicemembers, and loved ones, the Ceremonial Honor Guard received AST2 Jaggers’ casket and rendered honors.

AST2 Jaggers made the ultimate sacrifice while exhibiting extraordinary courage in the face of danger. In recognition of his heroism, Jaggers was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
