Bringing a range of authorities and capabilities to bear, we established a unified command, deployed advanced underwater sonar drones to search for victims in hazardous conditions, and guided the monumental effort to safely clear the 700-foot Fort McHenry Federal Channel.

The Key Bridge collapse underscored the significance of America’s Marine Transportation System, our vital network of ports and waterways. As efforts continue toward rebuilding the Key Bridge, the Coast Guard is steadfast in our resolve to respond to contingencies and facilitate commerce vital to economic prosperity.
