Do away with SNAP.
I know there are families who are legitimate US Citizens.. so for that there would be modified versions of what I propose.
Food Pantries. People come up 2x a month and pick up goods that are US owned and made products like Beef, Chicken, Eggs, Milk, etc. Then some other stuff that is healthy, that is not chips and pop and junk food.. it is handled like a food pantry though, people pick up good for you food, there is no money, there is not crazy amounts given, but enough to comfortably feed a family for 2 weeks. They must come up each 2 weeks to get the food.
So the US would own cattle farms, OR.. subsidize cattle ranchers in their program whom support the US w/ its food needs, same for all farmers, produce and the like. NO short changing the farmers.. that has happened in past or they were expected to have produce for less than they could sell it, which undermines them and their prosperity, should not hurt them to help the government.
Any food product that is distributed through the program, the gov will negotiate to get lower prices on goods (cereals etc)..
if you look at anyone who gets SNAP/EBT they are unhealthy and overweight.
Make moms start cooking for their kids again. From stuff that isn't chemical waste labeled as food. The entire country would benefit, and they would stop wanting SNAP, because it would not fund their lifestyle like having an EBT card would.
Gotta reduce the dependency, and at same time provide sustenance. MUST try to get people off the gov MONEY tit, if they want food assistance, this is what you get.. so many got their SNAP then went and bought chips and pop.. NO MORE!!
