Does /loomis/ have a board-tan? seems appropriate, if not!
I thought maybe it could be a robot girl who hates her art but is trying to improve. Also, since the sketch lines would always have to show as part of her design, the very act of drawing her is a means of improving your drawing skill, because it forces you to think about the shapes that comprise her.
what do you guys think? I wasn't sure what to name her, suggestions?

I just realized what you meant by sketch lines. I was thinking more of a "mannequin" with unorthodox forms for hair. I think we can work with the draw-through idea though too-or at least incorporate many wrapping lines around otherwise opaque forms.

Only really early LASers remember when anon drew Loomis as a little girl (along with 23:30 club, team forza, freeman, 30 minute gestapo etc.).
I think even the Loomis BO was in LAS, but he died really early probably before picture related was drawn, after only a few weeks.
Maybe not here, but Loomis in LAS was a psychotic killer.

Yeah I was in LAS for a bit, someone took the actual Loomis name first though. I forgot my password TWICE and got BTFO about two weeks in. I think my inaugural post was when I'd drawn through Bridgman's constructive anatomy book in a day.

Someone's developing a new "LAS" after the original developer went AWOL for a year, http://drawing.today, it's still being developed and most people haven't jumped ship from LAS yet, but might be worth checking out when it's all fully functional, cause original LAS was helpful for building a good drawing habit, at least at the start.

/ic/'s mascot is a big meaty dad-bod guy with a Loomis face so I think our mascot being a cute robot girl is perfectly acceptable in contrast-even if it might be cliche. I don't know about you guys but I personally revel in my own tastelessness without one shred of regret, and I feel that's important to be able to do as an artist in this modern world where just about everything conceivable has been done to death already. Robot girl or bust!
Besides, Loomis and the FWAP blooks are themselves already kind of the mascot around her anyway, the board would be an even bigger sausage party if the board-tan is some manly chisel-chinned illustration from the early 1900s too wouldn't it?

If nothing else it's good to know the torch is being passed since Lava flaked. I'm quitting my job soon to work on a project and have more drawing time so maybe I'll jump on that at some point to keep the pressure on. I'll have about one year before my savings runs dry so anything I can do to keep myself from idling around would be useful I imagine.

Adorable, I can see you worked hard on this; I like how you subtly portrayed depth in the "/L/" etching with that highlight. Good job! I more meant just the doll-joints, details and proportions associated with a wood mannequin, not necessarily made of wood, but that's just one idea. If we are going to have a board-tan (or tans) we're going to have to ruminate on the subject for at least a little while in either case.

Same, at least with the wireframe idea he can be female when the situation calls for it.
The tan should represent the board and I would argue we're mainly guys here.
for example:
/v/'s is the punished /v/-tan, represents the departure and betrayal of 4chan.
/pol/'s is an insane looking kike hater, represents the common mans view of /pol/
/m/ is a mecha, represents what the board is about.
/fit/'s is a swole guy, represents fitness obviously.
/fur/'s is a degenerate furry.
/monster/'s is a monstergirl, self-explanatory.
No real need for a female tan other than "it's cute"

You are now imagining /pol/ angry in a bidding war with /fur/ to stop /loomis/ becoming a degenerate furry.
I would say in this situation /loomis/ doesn't really give a fuck what he becomes; referencing the fact drawfags exist on all board.
Would /loomis/ prefer not to become a furry for a few hours? Sure, but (you)'s are (you)'s.
Referencing the fact new artists usually want to draw beautiful pieces of artwork but always end up doing a few degenerate commissions.
I know I have
Also he's seen the insane amount of shekels degenerates spend.

I lol'd. You make a strong case, but I'm still on team clang tbh; there just isn't much appeal to a flat wooden mannequin.
HOWEVER, maybe Loomis-tan can have a talking clay pet that changes shape like that instead? She needs to get her life drawing and still lives in somehow. It could default to a puppy or something like that.

Maybe instead of wood she's made of metal and "super advanced polymers" (whatever the hell othat means) and she only turns see-through when she's embarrassed (which is often, turns out). That way she can burn every last one of those misbegotten, deformed figure drawings of hers without fear!
