The 2016 Pirelli calendar features mostly old and disgusting SJW "women" (Yoko Ono, Amy Schumer, Fran Lebowitz, etc.) posing.

Serena Williams is nude, but facing a wall to hide her fake tits and dick. Amy Schumer is almost nude too, so Pirelli is endorsing SJW whale porn.

More proof that Bernie fucked up by signing Pirelli to an extension. Thanks Bernie.

heres 2 cents from a stupid fuck

http://jalopnik.com/5660208/why-formula-one-needs-4-cylinder-turbos

Basically: the third world clamoring for American living standards (which are vanishing in America), "fuel scarcity", and environmentalist bullshit.

I have news for this moron: turbochargers marginally increase fuel efficiency relative to the power from a comparable n/a engine. Look at Ford's Ecotech bullshit. Their twin-turbo v6 model doesn't get any better gas mileage than the 5.0 V8. The Focus's turbo 4 cylinder gets about 24 mpg combined, which is pathetic.

The turbo is a fraud. I suspect manufacturers are rather using the subterfuge of "global warming" as an excuse to further ram down unit costs. No one notices because in the middle is a Sacred Cow, "the environment". Its cheaper to produce smaller engines with the same technology and then slap a turbo on top so no one notices.

I wouldn't be surprised is fuel is saved by going from 10 cylinders to a turbo 6, but within the context of the big bitch about fuel and environment the consequences are marginal considering that this is a **sport**

but the retard who wrote the above article probably speaks for the average idiot because he doesn't even go that in depth. Its just: well we need it, because current year! Literally, the dumbass says "we've been doing n/a for too long, CURRENT YEAR"

Don't give Gawker clicks you dumb-ass. As for turbocharging increasing fuel-efficiency, that depends on the level of boost, type of fuel and how lean of a mix the engine is running.

>i get that you're knocking it but still

what you say makes sense save for the fact that adding a turbo or hybrid system (Which is the real crime here) is more expensive not less than building a naturally aspirated engine.

However, it is much harder to pass govt emissions standards without a turbo, as the turbo cools exhaust gasses. This is why there are so many *mild turbo* engines (think the large displacement mercedes engines that dont break 1 horsepower per liter despite twin turbos).

So, what about customer cars and part-time entries on that concept? The way budgets get bloated via constant development and having to drag the car all over the glove is killing the midfield/backmarkers slowly but surely.

>and yet, the ruleset didnt change much at all following 2010 but it still became formulaic, stale and shitty.

That was mostly created by Pirelli I believe, and it is also the reason why the current cars have become so aero sensitive.

The Bridgestones allowed the cars to have more peak downforce so they could follow without the difficulties they are having today.

If you try to achieve peak downforce with these tyres, your gonna suffer with disastrous wear rate.

66e9ff No.33405

>>33349

>is also the reason why the current cars have become so aero sensitive.

aero sensitivity has been an issue since the early mosley era.

If multiple manufacturers could make tires they way they wanted to, they would design them such that they could get the most pace out of them for a given life span.

Some would have a a huge ability to push, but wouldnt last long, some would not actually be so great at single lap pace but be durable, some would be really great at some temperatures but not others.

that choice and dynamism would eliminate any concern over more or less aero sensitivity in tires.

More importantly, by dramatically reducing mechanical grip (because of narrow tires, narrow cars, and no tire war) they have made cars get a relatively higher amount of grip from aero versus mechanical grip.

This is a much larger reason that overtaking is difficult, and that following in a drivers wake is an issue.

It is likely that with a free tire market, manufacturers would adopt the bridgestone tire characteristics *anyway* without any legislated motivation to do so.

>>33347

constant development doesn't bloat costs anymore than limited development does. A free formula based around displacement would have many different varying engines at different price points and would eliminate the largest generator of parts cost in an f1 car.

customer cars should be legal, but a customer car is designed for teams that are too cheap to make their own chassis, thus customer cars are doomed to the midfield (which is not a bad thing in and of itself).

Customer cars allow more teams to compete cheaply.

Part time entries are a bernie issue. I think that they would make it neat and produce more dynamism and allow lower cost entries to explore full-time commitment, but it will inPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

The man and his dog type teams won't be coming because of the sheer difficulty of getting a super-license.

IMO, full-time professional entries should be required to make their own cars while the rest can do customer cars. It would also allow people who aren't groomed to be F1 stars from the second trimester to have a crack at it.

It is very true that the reduction of mechanical grip has been a step in the very wrong direction and the current fad of wanting quick fading tyers is also wrong.

>Some would have a a huge ability to push, …

That was one of the better characteristics of the Bridgesontes which was seen as a negative. Those tyers were almost bulletproof apart form that one freaky race in Canada, and the only reason they needed to change tyers because it was stipulated in the rules. The soft tyre obviously would probably not last the whole race at some tracks but even that was a very robust tyre.

I used to live in the rustbelt, no joke every fucking day you would see a front wheel drive car parked with a deflated donut (space saver) on the front wheel.

Not only would it be on the wrong axle, someone had driven on it for more than one trip or 50 miles.

Bonus points for rust *repaired* with a rolled out coke can and wood screws or Chrysler group products with the hood retained by bungee cords.

Plans to speed up 2017 F1 cars watered down after Pirelli concern

tl;dr nobody asked Pirelli if the 2017 regs were realistic and they have found themselves inside a aero-dominated feedback loop trying to find the magic 5 seconds

>more aero = more force on tires

>more force on tires = need higher pressure

>higher pressure = less grip

>less grip = slower lap times

>slower lap times = need more aero

GROUND EFFECT

There is definitely a middle ground to be found between rock tires and cheese tires. Engineer them so that the performance/degradation relationship is more predictable and drivers can choose between driving flat out and nursing the tires. Apparently the current construction won't work for the predicted loads so Pirelli needs more testing anyways.

performance designs always involve tradeoffs (even as simple as fast cheap simple pick one), allowing manufacturers to actually chose their own course of action would solve this at much less cost than todt and co.'s diktat

Why would you buy Windows 7?

Just get a modded bios with an SLIC2.1 table inserted, so it thinks it's OEM.
