I don’t know, it’s a choice between that or a man who founded an empire that turns people, even infants, into flesh robots all because they can’t use artificial intelligence. Don’t try to say that started after the Heresy, you can take servitors for your Techmarines in 30k
The emperor is also the man who thought nothing of letting people like Curze and Angron command legions, even after they skinned/butchered the population of multiple worlds he was fine with it.

Emperor has goal of unification of galaxy and he achieved it with tools he had. Billions die and billions born each day. Even if whole world dies, it can be repopulated. And in general he did not give that many fucks about things. Warriors kill, its their job. Subjugated world=job well done. If you live over 10k years you dont really sweat the small stuff.
And technically admech are not part of Imperium, they are allied with Imperium. And Emps fought with them so they recognize him as the Omnissiah.
>>418764
"Technically" if you see demons of chaos as angels they will appear as angels. Just as seing them as demons absolutely turns them into demons. Also biblical angels were fearsome monsters who killed whole cities with their flaming swords, so yeah, there is that.

Well let's see you have the Iron men uprising and the one confirmed true AI turned to Chaos immediately, I'd do the same thing all things considered.

well you see that's the thing about it. That makes sense for not wanting to churn out any form of AI, however that doesn't excuse Robots, which are pretty much what Servitors are but with a flesh suit on the outside and just as prone to being overwritten by the Warp if properly exposed, jsut like anything else.
Honestly I think the only real excuse for them is that they just have so many fucking bodies to dispose of on a regular basis in one way or another they just need something to do with them other than incinerate\feed them to the lower class. Makes me think of a minor line in The Man in the High Castle where after purging lesser nations they just started using body parts from the mountains of corpses for practical purposes, like using the joint of a big toe for a zippo lighter mechanism.

Yes, he has a point about the warp being a collective sub-conscious for humanity. But at the same time, he's wrong. The Chaos gods are Cancer that feeds on the emotions of humanity and while he worships Chaos Undivided and has a point, he is still fundamentally flawed in his heretical logic.

He argued very convincingly about something that's very clearly wrong, no matter how well thought out your arguments, nothing changes the fact the number of people who've had positive interactions with warp creatures can be counter on one hand, while the Empire saves (and sacrifices but that's out of necessity) lives by the trillions.

It's still one the better books, it's rogue trader era shenanigans about what 40k could be if it was real and had real people in it (with all the insanity going with it) not cardboard cutout of "Duty and edginess monthly".
His "Space Marine" is probably the "best" book in the entire 40k franchise.
I mean you have scouts ending up piloting a titan and flipping people the bird with it.
There is a reason why people always tell you Ciaphas Cain series is the best 40k series, it's because it brings some humanity to it.

It cannot be argued that the foundation of his argument, that the Warp and its entities are reflections of the living beings in the universe. It is also not arguable that a theoretical destruction of this realm would result in the destruction of what is essentially the human soul as we know it.
Where Uriah is meeting a stumbling block is the thought that the gods of chaos, which are essentially metastasized tumors on the various 'humors' that do make up a human soul. So yes, while they can be argued that the GODS are humanities hopes and ideals the same applies to Daemons, but the chaos gods themselves are openly malevolent and can be considered to be forces of Stagnation with their forever-war with eachother and seeking to throw everything into unchecked pandemonium.
This is where I think Uriah gets points for going Chaos Undivided, but ultimately his solution isn't necessarily the greatest, maybe you c an have a great PR campaign and generate some lesser Daemons that could be considered more positive in nature, but Uriah is ultimately just a hopeless optimist who is most likely going to be devoured by Chaos at some point through either ruinous powers or another Chaos cult.
He still won that debate with the Emps though, hands down. But that's just what happens when one is trying to argue and the other party is just answering everything with Fuk-U instead of refuting points which sort of makes this difficult to judge since he was just going mostly uninterrupted and designated 'right' without any in video counterpoints other than Bloodletters being brought up.

how do you deceive something when you give it exactly what it wants. however I think the whole paying an ork with fighting for fighting is rather retarded as a means to move the plot forwards. it's like not the imperium doesn't have SPADES of ork corpses and the man power to remove their teeth.

I never really liked chaos to begin with but when Uriah said that the emperor hated humanity because he is against the main representations of the chaos gods. Yes, Khorne does represent bravery, but ask anyone what they think of him and the first thing that comes to their mind is his skull throne and his endless conquest of rage. Uraih is hoping to appeal to the little good that the chaos gods do offer while outright ignoring the major detriments they pose to humanity. Stagnation and rot for Nurgle, Subversion for Tzeech, Etc. He is essentially that poop lady from Hoarders that when asked why she wants one last high with her own feces, she tells everyone to shut up and mind their own business because it makes her feel good.

What good will those chainswords do you if you're dead before you're even remotely close to using them?
Maybe if the imperium focused more on having stronger GUNS they'd be giving Chaos and the eye of terror the middle finger. Just fire lots of long ranged macro cannons into the eye of terror.

What if the appeal to the gods' good is an attempt to cash in on the metaphysical nature nature of the warp and the gods by extension? If enough people believe with all they can there is only bravery and honor to be had with khorne, fresh ideas from tzeench, and peaceful nature from nurgle, would they not change to or at least move towards what they believe?

Isn't that why most Nurgle worshipers see their patron deity as a loving Grandfather that has freed them from the pain of existence, and seek to spread his mercy to everyone else in the world, despite being Nurgle's "mercy" being an existence of being infected with the same plagues you suffered from in life, only now you don't care because for all intents and purposes, you are already dead.
I can see Khorne being appealing to some honorable warriors (Wulfric, though he was undivided, as well as some depictions of Kharn) Tzeentch only really has two kinds of followers, manipulative dicks (Egrimm von Horstman, Viltitch) and "You think you're working agains't me but you're really playing into my master plan!" (Ahriman, pre-heresy Magnus). Ditto Slaanesh, who's champions all seem to be preening narcissists and insane perfectionists. (Sigvald, Lucius)

The (original) prologue states it's probably an heretical text or something, when himself says it's something (which he write in third person as precaution true-name invocation), which might be required to be read by inquisition higher ups. All the book style makes it hard to figure out what it is but I think we're supposed to think it's sort of mandatory? Like if they find it on his corpse they will know what he was up too (which makes sense since inquisitors act alone and under very loose supervision of other inquisitors). It's clearly not a report however more like a will/private journal.
What exactly do you think people write in their private journals if not their weird fantasies?
Also the setup always was that it was a very old and weird record of a clear renegade, probably of one of the first inquisitors or at least much closer to 30k than 40k.

Kitten is the original straight man, the perfect sounding board for Emps sarcasm and Magnus’s snark. They tried replacing him with Dorn, but Dorn is seriousness is comedic, so it’s just another bit vying for laughs instead of comedic reactions like we used to get when it was just Emps and the Captain-General. I guess you could also try and say Karstodes was another candidate for straight man, but he’s just comedically dense. And actually not that funny, actual Kars gets more laughs out of me from playing air guitar with that woman’s leg than I’ve ever laughed at his custodian counterpart
