How would you do an Alex Jones character in Call of Cthulhu?
What would you do to adapt him to the 1920s? Delta Green?

The new, but tainted Arkham reservoir in ‘The Colour out of Space’ (written March 1927) would probably be something Alex would mention, urging his listeners not to drink the tap water (in Arkham).
The very secretive gov’ment raid on Innsmouth ‘during the winter of 1927-28’ is a false flag operation, disguised as the ‘war on liquor’ during the prohibition era. This would definitely be something he would report on, though he might end up like members of the ‘many liberal organisations’ who complained about the treatment of the arrestees held without a trial, and were ‘met with long confidential discussions’, and whose representatives ‘were taken on trips to certain camps and prisons.’ Both these organisations and the newspapers stopped reporting on the matter, save for ‘one paper – a tabloid always discounted because of its wild policy’ continued to talk about it.
The horrible remains and occult artefacts found in the ‘vacant Witch House’ in Arkham in December 1931, when workmen began to see to the damage done to the house in March that year during a storm, would also be something he would report on, no doubt.
There should be more than enough canon cases for Alex to report on, the hard part would be depicting how he would report on it without going overboard – to an outsider, wholly unfamiliar with the cases he would seem like a lunatic, and he might exaggerate or use the wrong words and get things mixed up, but underneath it all, there would be truth. He would be passionate and energetic, yet nervous and suspicious – since these cases are real, and there would be forces that would like these news stories to go unreported, he would endanger himself, look over his shoulder and arm himself with a revolver in case of attacks.
If things really got out of hand, he would probably end up like Crawford Tillinghast in ‘From Beyond’; the remarkable physical change, the suspiciousness, his maniacal speech and ramblings cranked up to 11, and finally going into a self-imposed exile.
His broadcasts/bulletins could be sprinkled in at various points in the story, but after some time they could stop completely – perhaps his obituary would appear in the Arkham Advertiser, with no mention as to the cause of death, or a very short article in the paper mentioning his death.

IMO he shouldn't be quite right about whatever is actually going on. Keep his reports rooted in "the real" and while he acknowledges some weirdos try to harness mystical wizard shit he himself thinks it's a crock.
Innsmouth? It was a hit. Something about the FBI deciding someone was inconvenient, maybe they were rooting out communists. The house that that college student was staying at? Death cult, ritual murder, possibly connected to a fraternity. The artist, Pickman, was keeping a circus freak in his basement. Jones himself frequently receives messages from a man named Carter, urging him to reveal certain impossible truths. His own research of this man reveals a convicted grave robber who consorted with foreign mystics and was declared dead 5 years ago. The Antarctica case is something that must be explored further, he is willing to partly fund and join a second expedition himself.

I can agree with that sentiment. He’d definitely distrust the gov’ment/official story being presented, and the gov’ment in general. I think he’d also go on about a collusion between the gov’ment and some of these esoteric cults – the idea that there are outside, cosmic influences threatening us would definitely be a core theme of his rants.
I’m surprised there doesn’t appear to be a secret society at Miskatonic U., similar to Yale’s Skull and Bones.
>The Antarctica case is something that must be explored further, he is willing to partly fund and join a second expedition himself.
Reminds me of John Cleves Symmes, Jr., (1780-1829), who held that the earth is hollow and wanted to go on an expedition to prove his theory.

Oh, did they EVER have radio shows. The 1920s and 1930s was the golden age of radio after all.
What they didn't have, (AFAIK) was the Coast-to-Coast, Alex Jones style show.
Perhaps 1920s AJ is a radio-drama director/writer a la Orson Welles, who puts as much "truth" as he can into his dramas - cults in the drama with the real name of the cult, specific people identified by the initials of their names, etc.
Delta Green AJ is literally Alex Jones himself, on the Infowars show.

In a modern day setting I think Terry would be a brilliant programmer by day and hacker by night, who stumbled upon a top secret database on the dark/deep web. The contents of this database caused him to go insane – unable to deal with the horrors he found his mind shut down and he turned to religion in an attempt to find peace while trying to communicate the truth as best as he can.

Maybe a pencil pushing office worker or accountant or even a scientist who finds evidence for a widespread cover-up in some archive? He could be one of those ‘sensitive’ peoples who were troubled by weird and terrifying nightmares when R’lyeh rose to the surface and Cthulhu began to wake up.
Maybe he would print fliers to warn people and go in an out of mental institutions. It’s harder to re-imagine Terry in the 1920s/1930s than AJ, since Terry is a computer programmer and live streamer, technology that didn’t exist back then, while AJ uses radio to broadcast his messages.
He should be racially aware and not care for social norms at all. Brilliant, but with a mind damaged from knowing too much.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Don't read it as linear idea A to idea B, but as many of the eccentricly smart think, adjacent truths. Like ye olde monks describing an elephant the guy was probably trying to describe something that didn't have words yet attached to it.
Reminds me of an old communist block clairvoyant, described how people in the future were enraptured by matchboxes, spoke to them, stroked them, stared at them. Guy was absolutely befuddled by the trend. He was probably describing smartphones, but from so far back he had no concept of higher electronics.

I gave up on making linear sense of it pretty quickly, since there really is no discernible order to the pages. Or often even the content of any single page. But read enough and some repetition starts to stand out, and I did get the faintest feeling there was some sort of pattern to it I couldn't put a finger on, which I suspected only existed on the macro scale, if you will. Like the words might be the verbal equivalent of the dots old black and white newspaper photos would be printed with, which only made sense if you saw it all as one image instead of focusing closely on individual dots.
…Or at least, that's my best attempt at describing where I ended up with those papers. It's downright how odd how little actual direct literal information can be gleaned whatsoever from sooooo many words. If there is any actual meaning to it all, it absolutely can't be recorded through a direct conventional read of what's contained, that's for sure.
Also, my stack is only a small portion of the totality of it all, so at best, I've only got a handful of a puzzle which in full filled several… frozen chicken shipping boxes, according to my uncle. Which only makes the task of understanding it even harder.

I wouldn't mind at all, the only issue is getting them into a format I can share. My scanner was killed by my fat cat a couple years ago, and I didn't really bother to replace it since I've done all my work totally digitally for a long time now. A friend gave me a scanner/printer combo a few months ago for helping him move, but didn't include any of its cords and he still hasn't found them. So that means it's either crummy photos or using the scanner my parents have, and if I'm going to digitize those papers finally, I'd prefer to do it right.
So, point is, it's on the ol' to-do list for now, and I'll post a sample once I've scanned a sample. But it could be a while.

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play. He did a second podcast with Joe Rogan not too long ago. It has inderdimensional demons dealing with nazis and aztecs-mayans (he mixes them) praising aliens. Pretty neat stuff for an RPG. There's also vampires, two opposing governments in the shadows, nazi scientist that control NASA, lewd comments towards Eddie, clockwork elves, how to break the simulation we live in... you name it!
The main story goes something like this: there are multiple dimensions, but our brains filter them out to keep us sane. If you do certain rituals or take certain drugs, like DMT, you can expose yourself to those dimensions and see the beings that inhabit them: the machine elves, who are also called "demons" and "aliens". New World Order people deal with these demons and serve them, and that's why they do evil Illuminati stuff. Good forces usually don't intervene cause they respect free will and the NAP (Non Aggression Pact).
At almost 5 hours, the podcast is long as fuck, but it's prime inspiration for a lovecraft-like universe.
