Since PIA is getting bought by Kape Technologies (who now own ZenMate and CyberGhost as well), owned by (((a certain CEO))).

So who's now safe?

Torrent Freak does a round up of VPNs and goes through a series of questions (logs, company name, jurisdiction, etc.), are there any other sites that round upo and double check VPNs?

What do you think of expressvpn? They're kinda big but I think they have proven resilient one time.

But I guess the highest level of security is always yielded through tor, using tor through a vpn might even be more unsafe than without one, depending on who runs the vpn. But I think a vpn is enough for standard imageboard browsing.

I use PiA for torrenting primarily, and it works well enough for that. I wouldn't trust them for much else. (Don't forget to add Nord onto the blacklist after their lack of response to a data center breach.)

My company uses ExpressVPN for a couple of the chink employees. It works well enough to bypass the Great Firewall, but I don't know how they are in regards to protecting privacy or anonymity of the users.

I'm pretty sure Mullvad is the highest-rated VPN there. They strike me as the safest bet mainly because they only bill people monthly, instead of having yearly options like other VPNs. (Imagine if you paid for three years of NordVPN to get the cheapest rate, only for them to get bought by a shady company months down the line…)

The story I've seen everywhere is that ExpressVPN provides the fastest speeds of any VPN. Also, their smartphone app lets you set specific apps to bypass the VPN, which could be convenient. They're probably the most expensive VPN out there, though.

I wouldn't trust any VPN for much more than that. If you're doing something serious, it'd be far better to start building your own private botnet.

mullvad is basically the only one where your payments aren't easily linked to your account.

everything else is basically cheap junk. useful when you need extra IPs or a tunnel out of the network you're on.

As soon as I saw OP I thought of Mullvad. You can get an account number over tor, and pay with crypto or even cash in the mail. Even if they hand your data over to the ptb, they don't actually know anything about who you are other than the IP you connected with.

>want to tell people what VPN I use since they're cheap, fast, no logging, torrent friendly and tell the feds to fuck off

>don't want it to be more widely known because then they'll up the price and more retards will slow down the service

i am conflicted

no its not Nord, I made a whole post on /tech/ explaining why it's fucking trash

All VPN services are a scam, period.

The only time where using a VPN makes sense is for their intended purpose, a Virtual Private Network.

When it comes to "hId1ng your tr1ff1c", there are much better alternatives, such as Tor.

The only thing it really isn't suitable for is torrenting, but even then, a seedbox is way better than a VPN service.

I use leaked NordVPN accounts, their absolute lack of care for their customers has helped me out a ton :^)

I’m not paying for movies, and I’m sure as hell not paying for a VPN to help me steal my movies
