The Phase I clone helmet is slim and elegant. It has a decorative yet minimalist crest, which suits their somewhat contradictory nature - they serve an aged and unmilitarized Republic fond of art-deco-ish designs, yet are a vast army of utterly uniform and disciplined soldiers.

The stormtrooper helmet is bulkier than the clone designs it's based on. Rather than elegant, and having done away with the Mandalorian T-visor heritage in favour of a distinct Imperial appearance of its own, it's clearly shaped for intimidation and looks as deadly and unforgiving as the man wearing it and the Empire he serves.

The Phase II design, with how it sacrifices the elegance and decoration of the Phase I for similar features as the stormtrooper helmet, reflects a Republic becoming increasingly accustomed to the war as it waged on, a familiarity that sped the Imperialization on its way.

There's this pervasive belief that RO is somehow on par with the OT, or at the very least it's better than the prequels and sequels. I think it's an example of how people are willing to love completely broken, poorly-written, poorly-paced films as long as they have a good aesthetic.

RO had some great locations, a few good character designs, and some cool new 'Troopers like the Deathtroopers or Shoretroopers. It was also an attempt (however poor) at a Star Wars "war movie" with a more serious tone, and I think a lot of people are willing to forgive all of its many mistakes just for trying.

The problem is that it's sad that the highest level that Star Wars can aspire now it's being a fan film a little above average, and that being forgiving. And I don't see any sense of "fan" in Rogue One, most "homages" seems more like corporate fanservice to cattle nostalgiatards even at cost of plot consistency and a few winks to the EU that feel more like they are mocking it seeing how they butchered Dark Forces into that mess.

mang it was one level, calm your tits. all that needs to happen is someone fixes the "plans all in one spot" by doing like an animated version of that level and having kyle talk to mon mothma to say that project skyhook is good and that all parts were transmitted to the tantive or some shit. of course the other big problem (and to be fair this was never really explained prior to RO either) is how the star destroyer caught the tantive in the first place. given that this is set before the soy trilogy's bullshit hyperspace tracker, the tantive shouldn't have been able to be followed to tatooine unless there was a star destroyer already orbiting the planet.

i forgot to mention that the screenwriters were all good goys, after all that one faggot made the stupid tweet. let's also not forget that the reshoots actually made the film better, the trailers looked like some hot shit and thankfully the stupid parts were all cut out. granted you can still feel the jumbled editing and subplots that end up going nowhere, but the final cut is more comprehensive than a suicide run at an at-at.

i think we can all agree that shit like the "it's a real war movie hurr" was just part of the hype. the movie felt like playing a level in battlefront more than a hard war flick, and remember that it had to be toned down because they didn't approve of it initially. the cgi characters were poor quality, but not in poor taste. granted, had tarkin just stayed facing the window and not giving krennic face-to-face conversation i think it would have sold him a lot better. i saw someone do a fan edit of leia to look more legit and like i said, just lesser quality is all. frankly i prefer the attempt of producing carrie fisher exactly as she was rather than have some stand-in who looks nothing like her.

overall, rogue one is nearly there, and still above the other three soy wars films by a long shot, but it does fall short in aspects. idk who thinks ro is on par with the ot or above the prequels, but to say it's a total shlep is inaccurate.

Rogue won was shit for the same reasons TFA & TLJ were it was poorly written, unimaginative, sjw ,marysue propaganda featuring: An old flat plain jane female lead, weak men, no interesting characters, retarded bad guys, it breaks canon multiple times, it replaces a far more interesting EU story (darkforces/Kyle Katarn), they lied about film (it was no more a “war film” than the other disney films), yet another not Tatooine planet this time with the evil cantina aliens from tat, ==IT WAS VERY BORING== & like the sequel trilogy it was completely unnecessary.
