Theyre trying really hard to shill this new park of theirs. I dont see how it wont be shit with JJ and IRLRose at the helm; and with Retcon IX coming out relatively soon, I am afraid for the future of the franchise.
What should/can we do to save it from these cunts, anons?

under no circumstances should you buy a ticket to IX. Disney Wars is pure cancerous rot, but that doesn't mean Star Wars has to end. we've got plenty to look back upon, and maybe one day we'll get a sequel trilogy worthy of the name. unfortunately, due to cultural marxist infiltration, it might take another generation to recover from this.

Well of course there are. Ewoks used them and many other creatures, but here we see an ordinary human seriously using an ordinary bow and arrow (poorly designed one at that) as a serious method of combat in the galaxy while not being a magic user, force sensitive or superhuman teddy bear. Unless that's the big fucking reveal, that she's Luke's daughter with that black chick Luke fucked from the new Marvel comics.

Its as if Lucasfilm is restricted to a pre-set color chart that says every new alien has to have the same skin tones as humans, and if not, make them blue or yellow. And the way some of these aliens are set up feels to engaging. Its like there's no real thought put into the designs of these aliens or how they'll fit into the universe.

The Phase I clone helmet is slim and elegant. It has a decorative yet minimalist crest, which suits their somewhat contradictory nature - they serve an aged and unmilitarized Republic fond of art-deco-ish designs, yet are a vast army of utterly uniform and disciplined soldiers.
The stormtrooper helmet is bulkier than the clone designs it's based on. Rather than elegant, and having done away with the Mandalorian T-visor heritage in favour of a distinct Imperial appearance of its own, it's clearly shaped for intimidation and looks as deadly and unforgiving as the man wearing it and the Empire he serves.
The Phase II design, with how it sacrifices the elegance and decoration of the Phase I for similar features as the stormtrooper helmet, reflects a Republic becoming increasingly accustomed to the war as it waged on, a familiarity that sped the Imperialization on its way.
What does the First Order helmet tell you about the faction?

Fancy new guns and equipment? I'm more interested in how they managed to not only upgrade TIE fighters, but manufacture them along with Dreadnoughts, Star Destroyers and frigates to hold them all. Most peculiar is their planet destroyer planet. Not even Thrawn managed to acquire something like that and he was a genius when it came to financing and budgeting. I heard he does his own taxes, even.

It was one of the blandest movies ever, with boring characters, lousy tone and awful plot holes (The Darth Vader scene that all normal fags jerks off doesn't make sense considering the intro of A New Hope and how they "fixed" the supposed plot hole of the Death Star's weakness making the Empire a bunch of retards). A don't make me talk about CGI Peter Cusing and Carrie Fisher, sure, "respect".

There's this pervasive belief that RO is somehow on par with the OT, or at the very least it's better than the prequels and sequels. I think it's an example of how people are willing to love completely broken, poorly-written, poorly-paced films as long as they have a good aesthetic.
RO had some great locations, a few good character designs, and some cool new 'Troopers like the Deathtroopers or Shoretroopers. It was also an attempt (however poor) at a Star Wars "war movie" with a more serious tone, and I think a lot of people are willing to forgive all of its many mistakes just for trying.

If normalfags would respect a movie based on the art design they wouldn't suck the dick to TFA, being that movie arguably the less imaginative and unoriginal of all the main films and wouldn't enter that fast in the hatewagon of the prequels despite being one of most interesting film in that aspect for his time. No, that kind of people only like a movie based on two things: Marketing and nostalgia pandering.
>>33942
The problem is that it's sad that the highest level that Star Wars can aspire now it's being a fan film a little above average, and that being forgiving. And I don't see any sense of "fan" in Rogue One, most "homages" seems more like corporate fanservice to cattle nostalgiatards even at cost of plot consistency and a few winks to the EU that feel more like they are mocking it seeing how they butchered Dark Forces into that mess.

you guys are forgetting that edwards had to work with kuckquean kennedy's new restrictions of "white male bad, women and minorities good" guidelines. had he been able to do rogue one without these restrictions i'm sure the cast would have had more white men and aliens to boot instead of SJW tropes everywhere.
anon isn't wrong to say that it feels like a proper love letter to the lucas era, as there are loads of callbacks that don't just please fans but also serve into the plot (unlike soylo or the st)
>butchered dark forces
mang it was one level, calm your tits. all that needs to happen is someone fixes the "plans all in one spot" by doing like an animated version of that level and having kyle talk to mon mothma to say that project skyhook is good and that all parts were transmitted to the tantive or some shit. of course the other big problem (and to be fair this was never really explained prior to RO either) is how the star destroyer caught the tantive in the first place. given that this is set before the soy trilogy's bullshit hyperspace tracker, the tantive shouldn't have been able to be followed to tatooine unless there was a star destroyer already orbiting the planet.
i forgot to mention that the screenwriters were all good goys, after all that one faggot made the stupid tweet. let's also not forget that the reshoots actually made the film better, the trailers looked like some hot shit and thankfully the stupid parts were all cut out. granted you can still feel the jumbled editing and subplots that end up going nowhere, but the final cut is more comprehensive than a suicide run at an at-at.
>>33937
>repurposed AR-15 props
i meant moreso for the sequels but weren't the rebel guns in ro just the same as the shit seen in the ot?
i think we can all agree that shit like the "it's a real war movie hurr" was just part of the hype. the movie felt like playing a level in battlefront more than a hard war flick, and remember that it had to be toned down because they didn't approve of it initially. the cgi characters were poor quality, but not in poor taste. granted, had tarkin just stayed facing the window and not giving krennic face-to-face conversation i think it would have sold him a lot better. i saw someone do a fan edit of leia to look more legit and like i said, just lesser quality is all. frankly i prefer the attempt of producing carrie fisher exactly as she was rather than have some stand-in who looks nothing like her.
overall, rogue one is nearly there, and still above the other three soy wars films by a long shot, but it does fall short in aspects. idk who thinks ro is on par with the ot or above the prequels, but to say it's a total shlep is inaccurate.

They looked similar after all the scifi shit was pasted onto them, but according to IMFDB and the wook, they're different designs in-universe, with the RO rebels using some kind of modular gun, and you can still see the forward assist and some other AR specific element's onscreen.
>overall, rogue one is nearly there, and still above the other three soy wars films by a long shot, but it does fall short in aspects
I doubt most people here would disagree with that. It's just that "well at least it's not the ST" is such a low bar to set you're not really making any kind of statement about a film's quality by saying it. Further, since a number of "anti SJW" normies have adopted a sort of battered wife syndrome and dickride RO for being marginally better, it's something of a habit here to point out that it's still heavily, heavily flawed as a film.

It stinks of incrementalism to me designed to make people accept the low grade trash disney puts out as well as limp wristed faggotry from low t. idiots that think there is a limit on how many times one can refuse something terrible & therefore desperately to find anything good where there isn’t any. I have a feeling they believe that if one is consistent in their dislike of low quality films they (shock) might be called racialists, sexualist, badmen who hates wahmyns.
Rogue won was shit for the same reasons TFA & TLJ were it was poorly written, unimaginative, sjw ,marysue propaganda featuring: An old flat plain jane female lead, weak men, no interesting characters, retarded bad guys, it breaks canon multiple times, it replaces a far more interesting EU story (darkforces/Kyle Katarn), they lied about film (it was no more a “war film” than the other disney films), yet another not Tatooine planet this time with the evil cantina aliens from tat, ==IT WAS VERY BORING== & like the sequel trilogy it was completely unnecessary.
