Boomers are tiring to deal with regardless of the subject matter. They'll post Impact font image macros from 2012 and complain about how the DEMON-RAT Ess Jay Doppel UwUs are what made STD and the Picard show cringe. As for glowniggers, the reasoning there should go without saying.

Visually it's similar to Discovery, but not as badly shot. They tone down the lens flare and the camera isn't spinning like its on a fucking gyrosI am gay.. Acting is mostly fine, Patrick is good, no characters stand out as immediately unlikable, dialogue is so-so. Not much technobabble.
The writing is where new Trek consistently fails. They're retreading old ground with trying to portray the Feds/Starfleet as corrupt or dishonorable. You can easily draw current political comparisons from the scenario they've set up, it's pretty blatant. And the main plot involving artificial life ("synths"… ugh) doesn't really feel like it belongs in Trek in this way. The whole "synths did a bad thing and now they're banned" plot has been done better elsewhere.
Not great, not terrible. Better than the flaming garbage heap of STD by a long shot.

It looks better than Discovery. Not so dour and monotone and doesn’t have lens flares everywhere. Storywise, it’s the same mediocre Kurtzman production. Bland thin plot that will stretch over the whole season that relies mainly on mystery boxes and nostalgia. As always, Patrick Stewart towers over everyone else, although his age really shows. The main robot chick was yet another mary sue. Why doesn’t Picard report her to someone when she shows up at his door and starts rambling how she killed a bunch of people? And why do they have to make these robots in pairs? There is no logical reason for that other than to advance the plot. I will watch it mainly to see all the old characters, which is probably the only reason why this was made.

Also apparently the secret Romulan intelligence agency now has their own even secreter intelligence agency that nobody knows anything about, kind of like their own section 31! And nobody knows if they even exist, but luckily Picard's tsundere Romulan maid knows all about them and can tell us right away without any kind of mystery plot to get in the way of our great character driven scenes.

Picard is fucking awful. It is just as bad as Discovery. They try to fool you with Patrick Stewart and the more toned down visuals compared to the dark, Dutch angles of Discovery but in some ways it's worse.
No one in Discovery smokes. No one in Discovery complains about being poor or takes loans. And none of the old actors we respected were dragged into Discovery. I struggle to watch both, but at least STD could be hilarious in its incompetence, Picard is boring too.

I think Picard is way worse than STD. The Picard character is not Picard and it's basically a way for Patrick Stewart to completely destroy the TNG character.
Nothing in this show is original. It's a mashup of every major science-fiction IP. It has been 5 episodes and the plot has not even moved from the start yet but that didn't stop Kurtzman and his crew from killing off one major character.
There's a theory out there about the Romulans and I seriously hope that it's just a theory and nothing more: they might be the creators of the Borg. If that shit turns out to be true then Star Trek is completely dead.

Imagine that in 2003 someone told you that the Star Trek name was being raped and that Seth McFuckingarlane made a better Star Trek than modern Star Trek, that SethMcFuckingarlane would made one the few half decent SciFi shows in years.
How would you react /strek/?

Doesn't that contradict the entire point of DS9?
<Not just this webm, but also just how out-of-touch the Federation was when it came to the demilitarized zone.

Not only is Elara cuter than anything on STD, she's also got a good personality as well.

Apparently so. Weren't they here a few days ago? I didn't delete them. I guess Codemonkey accidentally all our banners. I can grab the ones from the bunker, but that wasn't all of them.

I have a backup of all of them, including all the ones I made with the original assets so they can probably be re-made if necessary. I posted a message over there, just dont want to start dumping everything if it's a lost cause because there are a ton. I still have a fuck load unfinished and a few that never got added to the banner rotation. Need to know what to do with all of it. Might be easier to do a mega link or whatever. Let me know if you guise want them.

A mega link or something similar would be awesome! Thank you for your help and foresight. As soon as I get them I'll start uploading them asap.

Before the top military brass of the US military (who have access to /trek/ levels of technology mind you) opened a back channel leading to a covert war that had all other boards caught in the crossfire

I uploaded the banners, but I'm still not seeing them. Is anyone else seeing them?

I'm having trouble viewing them. I get either the same banner or no banner at all.

Seems to work better right after I post and solve a captcha, but then it goes back to not serving them up after I load a few more threads. Could be on my end, i guess. Cookies or something.
