All it's doing is creating a sort of pseudo-monarchy where the ruling elite caste are able to dictate raw policy simply by making their viewpoint stand out louder than any others. As I mentioned before, this board influences how you think in-world, even if you're not fully aware of it. All a popularity contest does is close off doors in your mind that might help you think in new ways. That might help you see from opposing viewpoints. I was going to make this it's own point, but I'm already dragging on extremely long, to the point where I'm unsure if many people will read this at all, but there's a general attitude of apathy that seems to be everywhere, both on this board and in the sim. The idea that if you just ignore it or attempt to discredit something, it'll simply go away. You and I both know that that's an extremely narrow-minded way of looking at things. People who get off on stirring up trouble, when they realize you can no longer hear them, will take that as a sign of weakness and only further capitalize upon it to try and soil their target even further. Because when your target blocks you, it means you're getting to them. It means whatever you're doing is working, and this only emboldens people to either keep doing said actions or to take these actions and apply them to other people. The very topic of this thread is a great example of it. It got to people, so they kept doing it more and more. Instead of just self-vaccinating yourself against one threat after another, time after time after time and being surrounded by clouds or ghosts who now have the smug satisfaction of knowing they've gotten to you, we should try to find ways to either remove the source of the problem outright or encourage them to change their attitudes.
