Don't bullshit me, Anon.

You have one.

Self insert or not. Tell me about them. Weapons, outfits, backstories, everything.

Pic is the most unashamedly anime thing I could think to post in the context of fantasy fighting.

WARNING AUTISM ALERT

I pretty much came up with one based off the concept of the character having a very weak Aura (it was a family/genetics heritage bullshit thing, much like some Semblances apparently are in the setting), but still trying to become a Huntress anyways and making it to Beacon before dropping out due to various factors. During that entire period she would have been poor and unable to escape the lower class she was born into.

The character would have shown disgust at the position and privileges enjoyed by Hunters in society as time went on and become disillusioned with the ideals she wanted to uphold (she sees the Hunters as being lazy, self-absorbed gloryhounds who can't even be proactive enough to push back the Grimm in a time of "peace" so humanity can take back more of the earth). She would eventually become a mercenary and come across an opportunity to work for the Schnee Dust Company, becoming privy to some conspiracy that I will choose to withhold details of.

I deliberately made choices when conceptualizing her so as to differentiate her from all the other trash OCs that get made (blah blah heroic thingy/grimedge thingy, they are all fucking rich and wouldn't know poverty and hard times if they came across them, they all have some dumb special ability they overrely on, they've got very few character flaws/a backstory that showcases character flaws, and apparently very few of them speculate what's going on behind the scenes at SDC), especially with the character's disillusionment at the whole idea of being a Hunter.

That would be a pretty interesting take on a character. I'd like to see the seedy underground Qrow alluded to in his flashback narration that ended at a joke about the barkeeper's skirt length.

What about their weapon? Fighting in RWBY with a weak aura seems like suicide, so maybe something long-ranged to keep out of "bisect trees with annoyance" range? Is their aura so weak they have no Semblance at all?

TL;DR Her fighting philosophy is embed related; also now that I think about it, I may have pulled a Chris Avellone by accident

Maybe a better writer could do her justice

Details are rather fuzzy in this aspect, admittedly, and this is where I have my issues with this character. Specifically, as she is right now, she veers dangerously close to being a Mary Sue in my opinion despite her terrible luck.

I recall that she would often study her opponent's abilities and fighting patterns, and so would roughly train in different styles of fighting and mix them so as to be able to defend against different attacks. She would also adopt an evasive combat style focused around not getting getting hit while dealing damage, death-by-thousand-cuts style. Evading also gave her time to analyze her opponent's attacks so she could form a strategy. However her versatility, while it meant that she could respond to a variety of situations, also made her a jack of all trades, and with her expertise alone she could at best only defend herself until she got hit and her Aura ran out. She would lose a lot of sparring matches in class. Pretty much a wonder that she qualified for Beacon, actually.

This is where she got pragmatic, and which got her into trouble at the academy. Again, she would try to use her opponent's strength against them (sort of like Neo) and stab at their weaknesses, sometimes counting on the pain inflicted to buy her enough time. However, she also exploited that fact that Dust is unstable, dangerous and explosive, and would buy some quantity of Dust with her wages from jobs before using it in battle, igniting it or throwing/blowing it in the face of her opponent (sometimes igniting it afterwards). Aura, as far as I know, doesn't protect against poison and inhalation (I might be wrong), so she didn't care if somebody ended up coughing or gagging from this tactic.

Naturally, the staff at Beacon took issue with this, and though she had multiple arguments (your way of teaching is counterproductive, I'm only evening the odds, the goal is to reduce Aura by any means possible, right?) she would eventually drop out as said before. (She thought sparring with humans to the relative exclusion of fighting Grimm just meant Huntsmen would get better at fighting other Huntsmen, and she saw her later career as vindication of this belief.)

(cont.)

She thought the philosophy of having one multipurpose weapon and having different people wielding disparate models was idiotic and wasteful, and would struggle with choosing a weapon to stick with. In her elementary academy she got by with simple tonfas (and grabbing and attempting to steal weapons from her opponent, which also contributed to her dishonourable technique). The tonfas did complement her defensive, multi-faceted style rather nicely, and while she frequently experimented with other weaponry, she kept gravitating back towards them, even prototyping a vortex shotgun design with the campus's resources which allowed her to propel herself around an arena with air blasts and direct said blasts with Dust against an opponent. (Hypocrisy is a recurring theme of her character. At least I intend it to be that way.) That got put on hold when she became a mercenary, only using the weaponry given to her. However, come her employment at SDC after being one of the only competent members of her PMC to protect some classified cargo (unbeknownst to her and her coworkers), she would get access to not only a production model of her concept as well as variants, thanks to SDC's Atlesian military contract and collaboration, but also a mobile ballistic shield (obvious riot gear theme is obvious), a shock baton, and a variety of weaponry, not to mention a squad to command. At this point she starts becoming OP with resources to make up for her weaknesses, and I've only been keeping this because I want her to be in a SDC storyline. (Actually, the means of her even getting hired by SDC is fishy, I've only justified it by the conspiracy I came up with.)

There's nothing stopping anybody from just sniping her though.

In terms of Semblance, she may or may not have one, but if she were to have one (I haven't decided between subtle precognition or time control–in a possible plot bunny I conceived for her she would have died in a time dilation fight with Weiss), she either wouldn't be aware of its usage or would actively reject it seeing it as a slippery slope towards overreliance. (Of course, if she does use it she will find some way to rationalize it as being consistent with her anti-Huntsman philosophy.)

There are still some details I've left out (I've dedicated a lot of thought, but I'm still not satisfied and I'm thinking maybe I need to cut out some stuff. I still like the hypocrisy theme, though.), but I think this should be more than sufficient to answer your queries.

If she were to face Mercury and Emerald, she would probably come out winning by wearing IR goggles and 1) seeing Emerald's actual heat signature rather than her illusions, and 2) seeing that Mercury has metal prostheses and exploiting that fact against him. Only Cinder incinerating the surrounding area and rendering the goggles around her useless would mean the tide of battle quickly turns against her. You may notice where her character starts falling apart as I write her SDC self as anime Batman (overreliance on cool gadgets and plot-convenient equipment), but eh, thinking of stupid stuff like this is fun.

If you don't like this current version I can always recharacterize her as a milder character. I still like the SDC conspiracy storyline as stupid as it gets. But yeah, gif me critique.

Something I forgot to mention is that she likes to use the environment around her to her advantage and use impromptu weapons. (*bullshiiiiiiiiiiiiit…*)

This sparks from my dissatisfaction with how dull the fights in the show are in my opinion with just one transformable weapon, and obvious inspiration from action scenes like embed related. Of course, things work differently with Aura involved.

I'll be honest, I went full autismo on this one. I started off making an OC for RWBY, then another, and two more to make a team, until I realized how much more I could do with them as their own series.

>2043

>A series of wars and political shifts has changed the world heavily

>wars in Europe, middle east, and the US in the 2020s have prodiced a much more hard right nationalistic sentiment across the world

>5 great powers rise: Russia, China, India, Brazil, and the new America (which has become a semi-fascist state)

>America has annexed canada

>after the second US civil war, and the Great African war over the lack of food due to western aid no longer being available, America was able to set up a Liberian state, much larger than previously.

>American blacks are moved there, and a Fascist type state produces raw materials for the rebuilding of American infrastructure, receiving aid and American corporate power to build it's economy

>China moves it's influence to neighboring Ghana, and the two countries square off

>the two african countries finally go to war with each other, and their larger allies use this as an opportunity to test new weaponry

>the Americans tests one weapon in particular (or rather 4 of them)

>a DARPA X project overseen by DIA codenamed SPEARHEAD

>a group of 12 super soldiers, divided into 3 strike teams, are altered and designed to have superhuman strength, speed, agility, and senses Ala Captain America

Ah, fuck it, I'll bite.

I've entertained the thought of this character for a while, but I've never really been committed to write an original story for him. The closest I got was starting a fanfic that I intended to loop him into, but immediately abandoned when I re-read it a couple of days later to discover that I didn't like what I had written.

But anyway, that's not the point. I'll gloss over my shitty idea:

Remnant is a world of wonder, strife and great power. Both Grimm and Man harbour legendary power and honed skill, constantly fighting over supremacy in endless skirmishes that grind down both the will and the fighting force of those that seek to maintain the flame of Light burning. Lives, cities and civilisations were taken and destroyed fighting back the neverending horde, slowly but surely tightening the noose around Man's last bastions in the world.

But, their gambit is a great one.

Huntsman and Huntresses, the pinnacle of centuries of refined combat techniques and technology, trained to vanquish even the deadliest of foes. Each year brings forth new studies and improvements to Remnant's great combat schools as the veteran Huntsmen and Huntresses pass the torch to the younger generations.

And slowly, ever so slowly, they bring hope to the world. Hope that the day will come when Man will strike back, and bleed the Grimm dry once and for all.

Unfortunately, Opal isn't one of those people.

Practical, boring clothing covers the frame of a 34 year old human male, consisting of a weathered leather duster matched with simple, rugged trousers and a loose shirt, a pair of thick hiking boots the only item of clothing costing more than a magazine of your average Huntsman's bizarre ammunition. Occasionally a hat completes the set of what appears to be a cheesy outfit from a police drama, settling onto his dense, almost-neat brown hair. It was once an odd outfit, for sure, but over the years fashion choices have gotten increasingly strange for Huntsman and Huntresses that nobody seems to bat an eye anymore. Hell, there's even a few that brave fighting with heels on. Makes you wonder just *how* they're being trained in those schools, if the most optimal clothing for combat seems to consist of loose and awkward clothing that can snag on everything and make you trip.

But, in the world of combat skirts and tactical heels, the man in the duster remains unremarkable. His outfit even suits his calm and fluid demeanour, thus reinforcing how akin he is to a Noire socialite.

He stands relaxedly at a a height of 5'9'', with an average-looking frame leaning on the skinny side, with only a subtle hint of muscle under his clothing. A fair, vaguely tanned face shows cropped stubble extending all across his jaw, rising to where a moustache would be. His features are neither sharp nor soft, just something along the middle that makes him look remarkably average, any other descriptors falling vague at best. The only real defining feature would be his murky brown eyes, but that's really out of process of elimination more than anything else.

Truly, the plainest looking man you'll ever see. If you could picture a man named John Smith, you'd pretty much nail Opal's appearance. That sort of "Uncle-I-Can't-Exactly-Recall-But-Always-Sends-Me-Twenty-Bucks-For-My-Birthday" kind of vibe. Exactly the kind of appearance you'd think hides no sort of secret power or ancient Semblance.

Which is fitting, because he doesn't.

By no means is his Aura weak, it just doesn't have the *oomph* you'd expect. It does its job, and that's all really it needs to do. His Semblance is somewhat useful, but that's where the emphasis resides. Useful.

By focusing, Opal can sense and read the surface thoughts and emotions of other individuals. It lacks the complexity and depth of mind-reading powers, since the way it works means that he can only catch what's being immediately thought more as a concept rather than a phrase. So if a goon were to think "I'm going to punch this weirdly dressed fuckin' weirdo in the face", Opal would read that he plans on punching someone, and that he seems to very much dislike his target. It's really more of an emotional gauge than a mind-reading technique, since it can't actually penetrate anyone's surface thoughts. The upside is that it practically causes no drain to his system, and he can passively read the surface thoughts and emotional states of anyone in his vicinity. When in actual combat, it probably wouldn't be much help to know that someone plans on hitting you in the face with the axe that they've been using to hit you in the face with for the past few seconds. Situational use, I suppose.

So, what's Opal's legacy, you may ask? What trait allows him to meet the mettle of the hundreds of elite warriors that roam the lands of Remnant?

Well, he's a pretty good detective. At least by his assumptions.

And that's about it.

Disclaimer: this post and the subject matter and contents thereof - text, media, or otherwise - do not necessarily reflect the views of the 8kun administration.

4a9f6f No.29126

>>29124

He's figured that the world already has its fair share of heroes in it: Individuals with legendary strength, agility, intelligence or plain luck that allow them to pull of staggering feats of prowess and cunning. As hard as Opal could train, he just wouldn't really make the cut. Or if he does, at most he'd become a supporting character that inevitably gets murdered.

So, he dedicates himself to private investigation work. Snooping, research, socialising, your standard share of mundane skills. His Semblance is useful, but he doesn't rely on it. He's acutely aware that what's important to him are his wits, so he's learned to see things from a different perspective and to use his Aura more as a tool than an extension of himself, which is probably how he landed himself in his job in the first place.

And also why he's one of the best at what he does.

Any number of Semblances and fighting styles could floor Opal in no time flat, because truth be told he's not much of a fighter. His hand-to-hand combat branches from a few self-defence classes and a couple of street brawls, and the one weapon he's comfortable with is an old Signet-55 hand cannon, which is midrange revolver if you wish to be polite with your description of it. It doesn't transform, it lacks electronic components, and it only really accepts Dust if they form part of the bullets it fires.

But, face him a scenario that isn't one of combat, and you've got yourself a whole new game entirely.

Whereas one might have nearly every form of fighting in melee range mastered, Opal knows how to hide both in and out of plain sight. He knows how he can be traced, and what routes can be predicted or ambushed. And more importantly, he knows how to go about searching for these signs himself.

Spend too long honing what's unique and supernatural, and you end up forgetting what mastering the mundane is like.

4a9f6f No.29127

>>29126

So, the idea I had for Opal is that he's unique precisely because he's essentially null and void when it comes to fighting prowess. He lacks that advantage so he creates a new one for himself, by focusing on what's considered boring or mundane for a society that revolves around Dust.

He's an embodiment for what's 'baseline human (And Faunus!)' in the world. Those that can't fight for shit and resign themselves to excelling in other fields. Which is why I think he'd actually have a shot interacting with RWBY's characters in a way: They're the typical anime combat masters so focused on actual fighting, that they're nearly inept in what most of the population would take for granted as everyday skills.

It's cheesy, but I just like the idea that someone as powerful as Cinder wouldn't be able to effectively track Opal simply because he's too well experienced at hiding from people. She'd be able to immolate him on the spot with a flick of the wrist, but that doesn't mean anything when he throws her into a dead trail for the Nth time, all without the use of Dust and only marginal applications of Aura.

It'd be humiliating that said villians, the scourge of all Huntsmen/Huntresses, can't outwit some snarky asshole in a shitty coat without anything short of levelling a whole city.

And that's sort of what I want to see in RWBY. We've already got a whole bunch of Mary Sues and characters that just seem to get exponentially more powerful, but there's an absence of folk that don't *need* to have a Semblance that rip a hole through time and space.

There needs to be some individuals that remind the folks of Remnant that you don't need to be blessed with Aura to help your world.

You just need to be good enough at what you do, and to know how to royally piss the right people off.

here. It looks like we think on the same wavelength, although my character idea was oriented more towards pragmatic combat as well as questioning the whole system of becoming a Huntsman in the first place. Just cut the dramatic prose at the beginning, and you'll have something solid.

I definitely like where you're going with somebody who expressly avoids combat and uses other means. It's not like RWBY hasn't had a character like what we've thought up (Torchwick was not the best written villain, and wasted potential with his existence, but damn he was popular for a reason), but seriously it keeps operating on certain assumptions and the gigantic holes in the writing need to be covered up.

A lot of problems I had with writing my own character was 1) I kept on developing her behavior to a deep degree, to the point where she was very developed but unrealistically so for storytelling purposes, and 2) I ended up forcing certain details because I wanted her interactions with the cast to have them develop into deeper characters in turn. Well-intentioned, as one may say, but it also veered sharply into Sue territory with my wish to turn her into a plot device to deconstruct and reconstruct the concept of a Huntsman. And ultimately, it's kind of a bad writing practice to have so much development stem from a single source, even if I was going to make her a villain a la RvB's Felix.

Opal definitely seems like a more balanced and subtle version of the vision I seek, so thank you for sharing your writing here.

On another note, RWBY really suffers from a lack of focus. If you were to ask me to sum up RWBY with one idea, I would reply with nothing. Nothing really stands out about the story in the end.

That would definitely be something. An arc that would focus on 2 characters that are very different from the rest would bring a breath of fresh air to what's currently a series mostly focusing on fight scenes and mass skirmishes and…little else. Sure, Season 3 did bring about some great changes to the story and shifted the tone quite a bit, but for the most part everyone seems to slashin' Grimm or people and taking brief breaks to develop the plot with a 5 minute chat with another character, before immediately returning to slashing more things.

I'd love to see just a little side story focused on intrigue with either new characters or ones that we haven't seen much of yet. So far the story's been centred around teams RWBY and JNPR with a couple of brief interludes with supporting characters, which is good, but the writers really haven't given a chance for the supporting cast to be anything more than "Those friends that occasionally help us fight."

Which is why I think that characters such as Opal and your mercenary would compliment the story's development well. On the main track you have the story of RWBY and JNPR trying to cope with what they've lost, while the world slowly seems to become more and more desperate as tensions climb and leaders start seeking more drastic measures,

But then you have something a little bit slower. Calm, even. The world is still a grim place, but it's not bringing everyone quite so down as much as the heroes that act as the frontline between humanity and destruction.

'Cause when you're a private detective that nobody really hires that often or say a mercenary that's struggling to find an employer she likes, you have some free time to kill.

The way I picture it, it'd would be a simple little arc in which nothing too exhilarating like a Grimm invasion happens, but a lot talking gets done and a lot is learned about an organisation or a character that hasn't had the chance to shine yet.

The purpose in such a shift of speed would be to both contrast the two tones of storytelling and to provide an insight into aspects of Remnant that a past-pace slash-em-up would fail to detail fully. Say, the adventures of the dynamic duo (Totally tempted to actually start calling them that) investigates aspects of the city and how its governed, allowing for a clear explanation of how politics is handled inside of Remnant. We still don't know if there even *is* a major political figure in RWBY. Are there democratically elected presidents? Is there a king? Do the political systems vary from kingdom to kingdom? The closest we've gotten to an influential figure is Ironwood, and maybe Weiss' father.

Speaking of which, I'd also like to see more of Atlas' military, and in fact the rest of the world's military. So far the White Fang seems to be running rampant with only private security forces taking them on, maybe some kingdoms actually use their armies to seek and destroy either terrorist or Grimm outcroppings?

It's all been briefly glossed over in the World of Remnant series, but I haven't felt like as if they provided a full answer. I just think that it'd be nice for them to do some more general world-building within the plot itself.

Partially because I'm actually a private investigator and that kind of gumshoe stuff is my jam. Real PI work mostly consists of driving around or filing through databases nowadays. Electronic record-keeping has made the job so easy it's usually boring.

Their eyes prominently indicate, involve, and interact with their Semblance, which is a huge part of their character both stylistically and personal-history wise, as they're a caster archetype like Weiss.

The character is significantly older though (Like Ozpin old, for fairytale reasons), and was originally designed for the never-to-be create-a-team-to-actually-appear-in-the-show contest that Monty said would happen. So, assuming this character (if selected) would end up meeting the cast, I reworked him into a sort of an "Old Ben Kenobi" figure for her; someone to get her started on finding out how to use whatever power it is she has. Which also puts him in a good position to be a source of suppressed information. But that still places my guy on a level above 99% of the cast, which feels slightly self-fellating.

Weapons are twin gun-daggers conected to his armguards by thin strings attached to the hilts. Pretty much a watered down version of Penny's weapon.

Semblance is the power to make metal stuff explode. Thanks to that he can make his guns work without dust and in emergencies he can just blow up his weapons to make more damage. I had a bunch of OC designs a long time back. Enough that I had to create a spreadsheet of notes in order to consolidate things while I crystallized things like backgrounds, personality, and so on. There was a main team for the group and their associated companions, with most of the cast being peripheral. I never got around to it because I have a distaste of making up shit that doesn't fit, and there just wasn't a lot of information around in the V1/V2 era about the other kingdoms and world.

I couldn't even really go through with it now. It was a prequel thing, and one of the aspects in it would be an attack on Beacon that occurred in the past. Then there's Schnee necromancy, which also crosses over.

Some things from memory:

> the team leader was an engineering in the vein of Cyrus Harding (The Mysterious Island); his weapon was a three-pronged pole-arm that could collapse into a long-sword or extended into a rifle; his semblance let him manipulate the dirty essence of Grimm and reshape it into a temporary companion

> one of the team members had a semblance based on something from a book series called Thieves World; he could take a snapshot of any image and project it onto a solid surface as if it were a painting, and as the story progressed, would learn to manipulate these images through painting, allowing him to do some really OP shit like smearing white paint on a projected canvas to clear out a giant Grimm; even adding things could be done

> another could create small rifts in space-time, with the negative effect, to be figured out later on, that they would attract Grimm; the rifts could be used in combat to redirect fire or to sever limbs, though they could only close on creatures with no aura, making them best suited for anti-Grimm combat

> the lead antagonist would have an excessively powerful gravity-based semblance; she would attempt to create a temporary black-hole around the team to get rid of them, only for the girl with rift powers to open one right inside of it in a last-ditch attempt to get out, creating a massive chasm that would draw in Grimm from excessive distances until they could figure out how to close it

> an early antagonist was a mercenary fighter based on the mascot from Disturbed and exactly as edgy as that implied, who used chains and pure strength to beat down even Hunters and Huntresses

> the last arc of the story would involve the lead antagonist forcing the painting guy to paint her; he would go through with it and then invert the painting, causing some bullshit that would separate her aura from her body, leaving her powerless for the end, but creating a sentient "woman in white" with the power to cancel out auras which would cling to Beacon Academy and begin spawning Grimm, forcing a temporary shutdown as the place was recovered

> the group that would go in to take down the "woman in white" would all have their semblances and ability to use aura stripped away, forcing them to live on as civilians

Your other guys sound cool too. Mine had a spatial folding semblance too, until The Bad Thing Happened (tm).

The idea of beating down a semblance user with nothing but raw strength didn't seem plausible at first, but then I realized that's exactly what happened to Weiss on the train. Semblance isn't an instant-win by any means. It just helps.

That's actually a really cool OP power that's not often thought of. Sure, it won't work on ceramic weapons, but he could essentially disarm most of his opponents. People forget that weapons are not subject to Aura.

The only flaw is that we don't know if bullets are metal infused with Dust or pure Dust.

My mercenary character also used explosives. In her case, she liked coiling detonator cord around her opponents' weapons and arms and then detonating them, which fit with her pragmatic combat style.

BTW, what's the website?

>>29624

Since when have any recent characters been based on fairy tales? That well's run dry.

That said, an idea I was juggling around was to have a brother-sister duo in the vein of Rip and Grinder and then base them off Hansel and Gretel (obvious Witch Hunters joke here).

Embed related.

>>29665

All really cool ideas.

Also, chains and pure strength are perfectly plausible. My character would often fight with unfair means. A pretty common tactic was to overload or attack her opponents' senses directly, like blinding them or giving them hearing damage. The Aura would still interpret sonic attacks as damage, plus eardrums rupturing meant that it had to be expended to repair hearing. A disoriented opponent is not one that fights or moves well (mobility is a big advantage Huntsmen have), making him or her easy pickings to apply more force until his or her Aura runs out. You could also cheat and use explosives in close proximity to further drain Aura.

You could also exhaust or demoralize an opponent since Aura can't be used forever (it eventually runs out with extended combat use) and it also has a basis in positive emotions and willpower (I think? Maybe? Either way the opponent is less likely to fight at his or her best). Aura also does not dampen pain, so you can use excessive pain to distract an opponent and effectively stun them.

Just think of Huntsmen as Jedi. Even though you can't just walk up to one and punch them in the face, then declare victory, with the right resources and thinking, they're not the powerhouses people make them out to be.

Not really, I actually did a lot of research into different fairy tales around the world, and obviously other works of fiction in the public domain and popular legends can also qualify. I grew up with a freaking Harold Bloom book aimed towards young readers.

However, often I found myself trying to squash characters into preexisting archetypes rather than using said archetypes to inspire them. It doesn't help that a lot of fairy tales are essentially clones of each other, like Yen Shen and Cinderella. Once I got out of that mindset I found myself having a lot more freedom with writing characters and storylines. I suspect RT's heading towards the same path. I mean, again, how are the new villains in any way related to folklore?

Heck, my characters often take notes from other characters that I like, Tarantino-style. They're pretty much a mash-up of everything badass I like. Coiling detonator cord, for example, is by no means original (embed related). Right now I'm taking notes from Dredd 2012, and Dredd can be said to be inspired by Robocop. Actually, this is something I want to bring up.

How powerful is too powerful for a character? This is always a glaring issue for OCs, even in a setting that welcomingly embraces them. I'm talking all forms of power, from skills to strength to special abilities to external resources. How much a character can really do. To get an idea of how I try to break down what powerlevel is expected and/or acceptable in an OC, this is how I cut up Ruby Rose's capacities.

Weapon: Crescent Rose. It's a scythe, a spear, and a gun. It can load elemental ammunition. It's as all-purpose as you can get.

Equipment: Crescent Rose is, for all practical purposes, also a thruster, a hook, a lever, an anchor, and a counterweight. It's a mobility platform par excellence.

Skills: People tend to forget that Ruby DESIGNED AND BUILT Crescent Rose, which is to date the single most complex weapon we've seen short of Penny altogether. Based on the disparity between her given reasoning for becoming a Huntress in episode 1 versus her actual steam of consciousness lyrics in Red Like Roses I + II, she may also be an outstanding liar. I nearly decided to pass up combat skill, as that's basically required to be a character at all, but she was hand-trained by Qrow. The guy that gets sent off alone behind enemy lines for months at a time. That'd be like a 15 year old being picked out for training by a current Force Recon Marine. Ozpin certainly seemed impressed at the results.

Knowledge: Whatever practical knowledge she needed to accomplish the above. She's at least had modern-level education in physics, engineering, and math. That she went to a major school in a major city likely puts her at a level above, say, Ren and Nora, who grew up in the boonies. In fact, it always struck me as odd that Ruby didn't know more about Dust than Weiss did: she's actually worked with it before in an engineering capacity. Though perhaps she simply designed the gun to accept a commonly produced caliber and as long as she knew she stayed within pressure tolerances, she didn't need to know the makeup of the propellant itself.

Contacts: Her parents were local (possibly regional) heroes and she's on a first-name basis with the President/Headmaster of all of Atlas.

Resources: Here's where she kind of falls short. She's not moneyed, a land owner, a corporate entity, or whatever else. She doesn't even own a car. She depends on others for help.

Special: Her Semblance is one of the most powerful. Speed is a force multiplier in every sense of both force and multiplier. Being fast is such a benefit that old editions of D&D penalized you for casting Haste by aging your character by a year every time you did it; to this day it's one of the first things you look for in Final Fantasy. Plus now we're seeing her pull multiple-places-at-once shenanigans, and not in a "I'm so fast it only looks that way" sense. She's also got Silver Eyes, which we don't fully understand the implications of, but is apparently serious business.

When you really pick apart what the character is capable of, Ruby seems like a rather high-power entity right out of the gate. And this was before she would have even graduated, if her school hadn't got blown the fuck out. Granted she's the main character, but this was the main character as of the backstory chapter, and the powerlevel that gets you accepted into higher combat education.

Basically I'm saying most people can afford to go a little crazier with their OCs and still stay within acceptable limits, especially if they themselves aren't students. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong and a faggot.

He/She has a book out detailing everything about their OCs and their designs, but I'm pretty sure that's the only thing from it that's translated. But of the other images I've seen, they go into a lot more detail than you'd expect for some random artist's OCs.

I think there was a World of Remnant that said there were 4 basic ones, the core elements, and that all other forms of dust are derived from mixing and matching those 4. Gravity dust was briefly mentioned in an interview, I believe. It should be on the wiki, probably under the dust page.

They're not all based on fairy tales you doof. The idea is to keep the team with a somewhat consistent theme as much as possible. RWBY has the dual themes of "flower" and "fairy tale". JNPR has the theme "gender-bent characters", but not all are fairy tale themed. Both team name and character name also have to meet the color naming rule.

His semblance would totally have to be something like Mcrees Deadeye.

His weapon would traditionally be a revolver but it wouldnt transform into a melee weapon I want it to turn into a long rifle.

As for fairytale id say base him/ off a wild west outlaw like Calamity Jane or The Sundance Kid I dont care what gender I just want fucking cowboys

My OC is based off of Ullr from Smite, mostly just his weapons. Shooting arrows uses up aura while using his axes steals aura from people and just lifeforce in general from Grimm.

He's the lone hunter kind of guy who was originally part of the mouth glenn project and survived thanks to a hunter that got him out of there alas the hunter succumb to his injuries and no longer having a family followed his rescuers' corpse back to Atlas where he trained ever since.

Ah fuck it might as well.

His name is Perth Winkler. The relation to color is that it's based off the color periwinkle. He is the generic "hurr heir of a rich company" backstory, but that's because I never realized that was a popular trait until I grew too atached to him. Does the fact that it's a real estate business make up for it? It's actually a front for a mini mafia. May I add that it is currently about to have a civil war because of racial and money-fueled tensions?

He fights with knives, more knives, and dancing shoes that contain guillotine-like blades for kicking and slicing the shit out of Grimm. But mostly knives that he launches at foes while darting and weaving around the battlefield, putting his years of dancing lessons into practice.

His Semblence is magnetism, which lets him attract and repel metal as he wishes, making it easier to gather knives, and give throwing knives more speed. I also had the mental image of him throwing a knife deep into, say, a tree and using his Semblence to launch himself at it to give himself an easy vantage point, escape, or a potential attack. Plus it would be rad to hit someone in the head with a lead pipe from behind by attracting it, right?

And yes, I am aware that he is dangerously Weiss-like.

Her basic idea is that she uses sound and is a field controller, who is supposed to synergize with her team. Ideally a leader if only because she needs to fight with a rhythm in order to keep everything going as planned - otherwise the chaos of battle fucks her up.

She uses all kinds of prototypes that excel in certain aspects and fucking suck at other aspects, but never uses the same seemingly (while I was actively roleplaying her she just wouldn't want to decide on a weapon for some reason). A lot of Tony Stark-esque "need to find the perfect one" mixed in with it. Her most stable combat form involved laying mines that triggered explosions or other CC effects when certain frequencies were hit during a set.

Pet peeve of the day: Assault Gun sounding like something you'd hear on the evening news to the point that I'm not sure people will realize it's a thing.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_gun

It's when you take a full-scale artillery piece like a 155mm Howitzer and mount it on a vehicle with the intention of using it in a straight line against a target rather than having a spotter tell you where to safely arc it from. The idea with my character is that he was part of a conventional military and did what a (real, non-Hollywood) sniper would do, but when it came time to shoot, his target was motor pools, entire troop concentrations, whole buildings, etc.

If a little girl can swing around a 200 pound scythe like a baton, a burly GI Joe can surely cart around a cannon.

I choose to bring him up now because his weapon is a big war pick, a la Bloodborne. But it's always in the pick form, and it's also a mortar launcher. So he just strikes the ground with the pick hard enough to embed it in there, aims, and fires off a shell. That's really all I got in terms of how he fights, but god I love this idea so much.

I know I could go crazier, but this is the aesthetic I specifically wanted. The hammer starts the normal length of a warhammer and fires 20mm. The inner part of the barrel then slides out, leaving the hammer/bipod at roughly half the barrel's length, at which point the emptied barrel fires closer to 40mm. Expandable up to full size artillery rounds via his semblance, spatial folding.

The expanded look should look something like a PTRD, with the centerline spike of the hammer head opening to reveal the barrel. When firing at full power, the gun docks into a slot on the shield and it has a dramatic charge-up sequence, a la a Spartan Laser or anime-depiction X Buster, before firing show-stopper ordnance. Not for use in melee combat.

I've got a really cool aesthetic for ammo loading, but I'm not sure it's ready to be talked about yet.

Very simple sketch real quick.

I'm not super familiar with Bloodborne. I could look up an example, but I don't know if there's a specific reference you'd want me to take into account. It sounds like he uses it pretty similar to how my guy does his: melee component becomes stabilizer platform for very large ranged weapon. And here I thought I was gonna be super original about that part. I'm actually surprisingly glad, getting multiple takes on a similar concept.

Does your guy direct-fire the mortar, or does he actually arc it like artillery?

What's your team name?

Being too similar to a canon situation is a good opportunity to let those characters act as a foil to the original story.

Oh, I do have an OC: An Atlasian young soldier guy who was born and raised by a military nobility with a strong anti-Faunus sentiment. Guy carries the same thinking about the Faunus; carries a simplistic Dust weapon: A non-scoped bolt-action rifle with a long-as-fuck blade bayonet. Weapon needs no complicate folding transformation, it could qualify as a polearm by itself already without rendering the rifle useless. Color code is White, as with the Atlas Military.

I would tell more, but only if anyone's interested with me rambling a bit more.

>I'm not super familiar with Bloodborne. I could look up an example, but I don't know if there's a specific reference you'd want me to take into account.

Well I actually meant the Church Pick. The transformed version, specifically. Pic related.

>It sounds like he uses it pretty similar to how my guy does his: melee component becomes stabilizer platform for very large ranged weapon.

Just about. He hits the ground with the pick, extends the barrel, and slamfires out a mortar shell. He'd have it in this extended form 24/7 if it weren't for the fact that it would likely break, before you point that out.

>Does your guy direct-fire the mortar, or does he actually arc it like artillery?

Whatever you're not doing. So the latter, unless you change your mind. Keep things different, yeah? Yeah.

>What's your team name?

Well he's the leader and on the same team as Perth, and I want his name to be some play on Nyd, going for a rune theme with the names, and Nyd sounds better than Naudiz if you ask me so I'm going with NPTL, pronounced nuptial. >Ramble on, my dude. It's what we're here to do.

Alrighty then.

His name is William Whitby, 25 years old. He is a graduate of Atlas Academy and, therefore, Huntsman by education. He's a commissioned officer of the Military, but not that high-tier. Aside from that, nothing notable about his past as a personality: Noble at birth, raised upon strong military traditions, had an upstart on actual fighting training, was raised to have anti-Faunus sentiment into him and, of course, has wealth.

However, what's more notable about him is his current personality: He highly believes that Fauna shouldn't be given any sort of rights or even any treatment of humanity. He also thinks highly of himself up to the point of vainglory or arrogance, but he does have the skills to back that up. He believes that Semblances do not exist, and are only an excuse to let more common people to become Hunters and he thinks that more admissions into Academies and more graduates mean that the privilege and majesty of Huntership is being degraded and disrespected and, of course, he thinks that only human nobles should be Hunters. He has a tendency to rant whenever he sees something that explicitly goes against his beliefs. (E.g. "I can't believe that these dirty beastmen are not separated from us! Why can't I see signs that say that this bookstore isn't supposed to be for those sorts of creatures, what were they thinking?!" or "Look at that little girl in red. Can't even behave herself with class, so why is she admitted into Beacon?! It's a disgrace, I tell you! A massive disgrace!")

That's the bad side, but here's some more things: He did experience combat at it's hardest, leading him to being reasonably unamused of people being gung-ho of war, being Hunters or fighting solely for combat or glory. In fact, his view on Huntership is influenced by his own experiences, aside from the upper-class arrogance in him. Of course, he also fought against the White Fang, which didn't help the views indoctrinated to him about how Fauna should be treated. He doesn't believe in Semblances, for sure, but he ironically actually has one, although so subtle that even he doesn't realize he had it: Whenever he aims down and focuses, it amplifies the accuracy and actual power of his weapon and the longer he holds and stays focused, the more the next shot becomes accurate and deadly.

(Continuation.)

The more noble side of him, though, is that he does give credit where credit is due even to opponents, and is generally willing to work with other people, although he can function more as a leader. He also makes it a point never to hurt unarmed or innocent people. Both principles apply to humans and Fauna, despite his actual beliefs about the latter group. And he's also somewhat sympathetic to civilians affected by combat, especially the ones attacked by the Grimm.

In other words, he's a nobleman who's views are affected by his actual life experiences, whenever it dispels or amplifies them. His initial personality is me wanting to show more about the supposed discrimination in the world of Remnant, but from the side that's we're supposed to not root for.

As for his combat style, very simple: his weapon is a non-scoped, bolt action rifle with a straight stock and a non-detachable blade bayonet which is somewhat too lengthy to be called a proper bayonet. It's simply a spear and rifle hybrid, but without any transformation required. His melee fighting is him using the rifle as a polearm effectively, focusing on stabbing strikes, blocking with the "shaft", agility and speed. The down side here is his non-reliance on jumping. He will rather run to lead the enemy towards him, which he can then stab at the right time by using the enemy's own momentum.

His color scheme is white, standard Atlas Military color. I imagine his costume being a mix of Imperial British troops from the Anglo-Zulu War and World War One, with his hat being heavily influenced by the pith helmet.

As for quirks, his given accent is the Received Pronunciation. He also paints portraits in his spare time, and drinks, you guessed it, tea.

That's all. What you guys think?

>telefrag

I guess he could, yeah. I just used it as an excuse to let him carry ship and aircraft-launched ordnance on his person. Probably also really helpful in sneaking up on enemy fortifications before laying down heavy firepower.

>ready to be talked about

His weapon was designed entirely around and with his semblance, and it contains a decompression ring in the breech loading mechanism. He carries his rounds in compressed form, almost like zipping a file. His 20mm look like .22 lr before they're loaded. His 40mm look like 7.62x39. And his missiles look like a quiver of arrows on his back, which expand into full sized rockets when loaded, comparable in feel to 70mm rocket pods. The artillery-size missiles are stored as 3 separate "arrows" which are fed in sequence, each following one's head coupling into the previous one's rear, until they fill the entire barrel breech to muzzle. The fully assembled and deployed rifle creates the final decompression disk at the muzzle, finishing the expansion into a siege-scale weapon as the round leaves the weapon.

The shield also projects a small aura shield around his front arc to keep him from getting incinerated by the tail plume, because once the missile is complete and launched, it plays by all the conventional rules of rocket artillery. Don't stand behind a Katyusha.

>Sundown Tower/Chariot

That may actually work, with perhaps a little tuning.

>Differences and similarities in our weapons

Well fug. I was going to keep totally quiet about this part, but if you're going to try to work around my design, then it's only fair you should know. Do whatever you want with your weapon with no consideration for mine, because the one I've been talking about is just from my character's "origins" arc, so to speak. The gun I've been talking about hasn't been used in its original configuration since the war. Not the Faunus one. The big one. That's why his weapon is suspiciously specialized for destroying human-built structures and organized concentrations of resources/troops, not Grimm.

My fairytale is Rip van Winkle. Note the "From Mantle with Love <3" on his missile. It's not referring to the city; it's referring to the kingdom, because he was contemporary. Hence the mentions of his weapon looking old-timey, and resembling real life antiquated weapons like battleship cannons. He shows up wearing an improbably accurate "recreation" of an old Mantalese military uniform. Moreover, he has even less of an idea of what's going on than anyone else, because 100 years just passed in the blink of an eye. He woke up as the Fall of Beacon was taking place, in Amity Stadium, for plot reasons.

Anyways. You don't have to worry about me cramping your style in modern-day Remnant. The gun was partially disassembled and used in an ill-advised experiment involving the folding properties, which is directly related to how someone might end up blinking out of existence for a century.

>Rune names

I think that's pretty much it: Semblances are so common to be called special. That, aside from the reasons he wrote out from his personal journal of everyday thoughts.

Adding something to this. His various throwing knives would be collectively called Thoth, after the god of writing and knowledge, and the Thoth Tarot deck. Also, each knife would have one bullet/dust crystal inside them, all of a different size. Okay it's part gun now, I didn't beef it. Unless they go back on their statement about how each weapon will double as a gun somehow. This was in the same interview that they jokingly mentioned a gun/gun hybrid, if that helps anyone find it. Also one of the NPTL members will fight with two handguns, called "a gun and another gun" because it's funny. Unless I should just save it for a shitpost team

Back on Perth though, I was thinking that he'd carry the knives around in an attache case. But then I had the idea that he would later carry them with a scarf he acquires via character development. I need second opinions, should the magnetic dancer lad keep Thoth in a case or a scarf?

He would give occasional history lessons (help the main cast understand the full context of the old war), bring them up to speed on holes in their overly formalized combat education ("Your homework tonight is to locate 5 bullet traps in the Atlesian Paladin's armor scheme. Anyone who can figure out how to overload its heat-sinks gets extra credit."), and generally be a source of practical know-how ( "Ruby, your cloak is going to be lace by the time we get there. I littered him up and down with plot hooks for almost every character, just to be able to shotgun pitch ideas for his involvement if he were selected. ( "I recognize Mr. Arc's sword, shield, and crest. From a long, long time ago. Where did he get them?") Kind of a shame. The one big thing I've never been able to determine about him is his side in the war. He would have fought on the pro-art side, but we don't know what kingdoms were on what side. I think we're supposed to assume that Mantle was likely on the no-art side, so I'd have to work up some kind of internal guerrilla resistance situation there if so. His skillset/weapon is ideal for that anyways, so it's no big deal, but I'd like to know one way or the other.

His current weapon/semblance is too crazy to explain, so I'm trying to draw a good picture of it instead of put it into words. But it would belong in a Platinum Games title.

His emblem is a highly stylized Schwarze Sonne.

Some weapons aren't guns. Most of Team CRDL's aren't, plus Mr. Sword n' Board. You may be thinking of Sun's weapon, which was made as a joke because the Chinese word for staff is gun, and the word for nunchucks is gun-gun. So he wields gun-gun guns that combine into a gun.

>Scarf is definitely more flashy, so I'd go with that unless you're going for a "chilled professional" look.

Scarf it is! I guess I'll spoil Perth's arc: Any bit left of professional in him would be gone by the time he gets the scarf, which would be after the Fall of Beacon where he was knocked comatose. And Nyd would go AWOL, but I'm trying to figure the line between going nuclear and going Coldsteel, so I'm leaving that in the air. Point is, his brother's gone and he'd be desperate to have ANYTHING new to hold on to.

So when he ditches his family, blaming them for losing his brother, it's not too surprising that he'd ditch his usual case and give Thoth a new home in a scarf he gets as a gift or whatever. Plus he'd be trying to lay low so the case would give him away.

Couple questions, actually.

Weapon specifics are important. He has a sword. He idealizes Atlas (Northern European), was raised in Vacuo (Middle Eastern?), but the image you posted implies a katana (Mistral = Asian?). What kind of sword? He dual-wields, so I presume it's a hand-and-a-half at largest, unless his cuhrayzee comes from oversized wielding. As for his .45, we talking automatic or revolver? Handguns seem to do fuck-all against anything but the smallest targets unless there's something special about them. Blake and Emerald, for example, never bother to fire as anything but a distraction against anything larger than a Beowolf. I probably wouldn't either, given how ineffective a "high-impact sniper rifle" is against many things. Ironwood just straight up fires grenades.

His weaknesses are interesting. How do Gravity dust and other semblances interfere with his ability?

Fairytale/theme?

4a9f6f No.33854

Once again, that's the closest I could find to what Amaran actually looks like. He has more or less an English type bastard sword. I'm sorry that confused you.

At first, I wanted him to have a .44 caliber Revolver, but however, it seems very impractical to fight with (even more so with the .45 pistol), so I changed it to a .45 semi-automatic.

His semblance is that he uses dust in a different way than normal, using fire dust to enhance his strength and Ice to use as a sort of body armor. His weakness to gravity dust is because his body can't really… metabolize it, I suppose. it's not that he's allergic to it, it's that it messes with his body too much to be effective like fire and ice. Some Semblances uses dust to enhance, and, if one is particularity skilled, could use the dust on Amaran's body (it'd be the ice dust), could use it to drain it, and him.

Theme itself is the Amaranth flower. Greek flower that grew on Olympus and never died. That's also why everything is also named after plants. Thorn the sword, Bramble the gun and Synthesis the semblance. Originally I had him to be Reverse-Yang, in which he can take more damage but couldn't dish it back out.

Have some Never Before Released behind-the-scenes sketches from when I was first trying to figure out how to set all that up. The paper I used is too big to fit in scanners. Mea culpa.

Also, I see that your ID has exactly two posts and the other one is you saying you don't have an OC like 3 months ago. I like your weapon of choice, though. Shame to not have a character to hold it! Nudge nudge. His semblance could be Grimm-taming, maybe. Play Pokemon with Grimm. You could balance it against Weiss' summons as a reference point.

>>33854

Dust-specific buffs, huh? That's pretty cool. Balanced against a similar canon Semblance, too. In contrast to Nora, he can make use of all elements, but as a downside it has to be actual dust. He can't just bite a powerline and absorb electricity. Is there significance to the Amaranth connection beyond names?

Went through my image collection and I think pic related would be a suitable wielder. Let's call her Seelie Titania. I also went and gimped up an emblem while I was at it.

naming convention/lore whatever

[spoiler]

In accordance with the anti-color-nazi naming convention, Seelie rings of steel and Titania of titanium, both of which are rather silver, just like her hair. Both her names are also references to fairies, in particular, Titania is the name of the Fairy queen in a midsummer night's dream; hence her emblem being a crown made of fairy wings

We seem to be pretty comfortable being counterculture to the official narrative around here. (Who would have guessed?) We've got some people who never graduated combat school, a White Fang courier, and I sided with the Art Nazis.

I'm the anon who made this post: >>34504

Somebody here told me to talk about my character/story in this thread. Figured, why not? It's not entirely RWBY related. However, the absolutely god awful writing in V4 plus the fact that the show is slowly moving towards becoming another virtue-signaling piece of propaganda made me realize I could probably write a better story than the hacks at RT.

Well, the basic idea is that it's an urban fantasy story heavily inspired by my love of visual novels (especially Fate/Stay Night, which is my all-time favorite) and eroge, with a few touches of Jojo, High School DXD, among others. It concerns a pair of high school tomboyish girls who wake up in an abandoned mansion with no memory of how they got there, only to discover a bloodied, mangled body, and a humanoid aberration wielding a sword and a lance hell bent on leaving the two ladies in the same state as the corpse. Later on, they discover that they had somehow acquired the ability to use magic, and that mages are very much real and have existed since before the end of the "old world".

The story is set in a world not much different from our own which I really want to actually make it into the far future of our world after most of the population died as conflicts escalated, for which a group of mages were somehow responsible, preventing the creation of a New World Order where continental nations have ceased to exist, and most people live simpler lives in towns located within confederations of independent states. Society still contains some of our technology while having some of its own. I really want to expand upon how this world will play out, but I'm still not quite sure how I'll proceed, mostly because I'm not sure if it will tie into the plot nicely. I may drop a few hints to the reader here and there, but for now, I'm focusing on developing how magic works.

As for the main character which is really what I came to this thread for anyway, she's a high school student named Sami Silviya. Sami's an aloof girl with short, messy red hair, big tits who once had a penchant for brawling and even participated into local underground fighting competitions (held by an old bartender she's friends with), but quit her "career" once the number of opponents on her level began decreasing as she racked up more and more victories. She can be quite perceptive, but tends to focus too much on trying to put questions and mysteries in place inside her mind, which causes her to become a bit of a recluse. She still has a small social circle, however, mostly thanks to her best friend and the other girl caught up in the story, Selica "Wolfie" Rockshire, another tomboy who makes up for Sami's lack of energy with her own hijinks.

Her fighting experience usually helps a lot with the obstacles she faces over the course of the story, not only with helping her deal with her mastery of magic as her affinity towards specific elements and spells is directly connected to her history, personality, and fighting skills, but also with other deranged mages who seem to be popping up in town. Think of her as Kiryuu from Yakuza, only as a busty high school girl instead of a gruff ex-gangster. She basically fights much like him, only with a few bursts of magic here and there. I'm actually still trying to figure out what exactly her "affinity" is, that is, what kind of particular abilities she will have aside from just punching and kicking things really hard. But I'm also mostly writing from the seat of my pants, so I think I'll figure it out as I go.

Sami is also fiercely protective of those close to her, though she may not realize it at first until something truly terrible happens to a friend or loved one, mostly because of her reclusive tendencies. Still, a certains series of events happening to a few of her friends is what will eventually motivate her into looking into the town's mysteries, kicking off the second act of the story.

That is basically it. I have a general outline of how the plot will progress, but I'm mostly writing as I go. I've been cooking up this story in my mind for many years now, but it wasn't until I realized just how god awful RWBY was that I decided to actually sit down and start working on it. So, gotta give credit to Miles & Kerry for being so fucking bad at their jobs they kick a lazy bastard like me into action! Also, thanks to my love for eroge I kinda wanted to write ero scenes into the story, much like how you see in plot-heavy eroge… I was mostly inspired by the recent Minori games, which not only are heavy on plot, but also have some of the best ero-scenes you could see in a Japanese porn game today. Still, I'm still not sure how to implement that (I have a few male characters in mind, including a male lead), so depending on how it is, I might just scrap the idea. Still, I'm kind of writing this with a VN mentality, or rather imagining it could be one. As I said in the other thread, though, I don't have the manpower, skill, or money to make a VN, and my drawing skills are too shit, so I can't even include some light novel-style illustrations.

That's basically the gist of it. I hope to finish this story at least by the end of the year. I think it'll turn out longer than I'm imagining, but that doesn't really bother me. And of course, I'm leaving the (likely) first three chapters here if anyone's interested. I'm probably gonna post the story in a blog or something as I write it. Mind you, it's probably really fucking bad, but I did do some editing on chapter 1. Still, I'm proud of it.

It's well done. there's some format issues and some spelling stuff, but other than that. it's a ok.

it really threw me off that it's not based on RWBY, and I felt stupid when I realized that.

I also want to write, but I always feel like it'll be shit.

Wow, thanks anon. Really means a lot to me someone checked it out. I sent it to a couple buddies of mine and they also like it, so I guess I'm on the right track. I'll just have to look through what I've written to correct whatever spelling or writing errors there are. The question is whether the plot and writing will remain good, but I guess things will sort themselves out.

Don't be afraid of getting into writing, anon. The first step is always the hardest. It took me some 5~4 years till I started actually sitting down, but it still happened, even if I thought the quality was terrible. I believe that one day you will answer your "call", so long as the desire is inside you.

I could always try and put Sami and co. in Remnant… Maybe have them kick some white fang ass. Or just getting along with the gang. Could be a side project to the main story.
