I've always been skeptical about prayer. Something Bill Maher once said stuck with me…like what is prayer, a broadcast signal? And if a lot of people pray, does it somehow increase the strength of that signal so God can hear you?
Anyway…prayer has its benefits. If nothing else, it gives people the inner strength they need to get to the next moment. There are still a lot of mysteries about the universe, and it would probably be foolish to dismiss prayer while giving thought to the idea of a multiverse.
Personally, I am open to anything with evidence or reasoning. The metaphor of the end times prophecy in Revelations seems pretty legit right now.
