McConnell Mulls Introducing Amendment to Stop US Pullout from Syria, Afghanistan
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Tuesday he plans to introduce legislation to prevent what he called a "precipitous" withdrawal of US forces from Syria and Afghanistan before terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and the Daesh are defeated there.
"My amendment would acknowledge the plain fact that al Qaeda*, ISIS[Daesh]**, and their affiliates in Syria and Afghanistan continue to pose a serious threat to our nation", McConnell said in remarks on the Senate floor.
McConnell said his amendment, which he plan to introduce to a wide-ranging Senate bill on the Middle East, would "recognize the danger of a precipitous withdrawal from either conflict, and highlight the need for diplomatic engagement and political solutions to the underlying conflicts in Syria and Afghanistan".
He stressed that his amendment would ensure the continued commitment of US forces until "vile terrorists" suffer an enduring defeat in both countries.
Moreover, McConnell emphasized that if the US exit the two countries before defeating the terrorists, the two conflicts would "reverberate in the United States".

GREEN BAY, Wis. – OK, this wind-chill business is getting serious.
It’s one thing when schools start canceling classes and businesses start telling employees and customers to stay home because of record cold in the forecast.
But now the cops are asking criminals to please stay inside.
Yes, you heard that right. Temperatures getting down to minus-double-digits Tuesday night and Wednesday, accompanied by winds of 20 mph or more, were expected to provide wind chill values of between minus 30 and minus 45 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.
That prompted the Green Bay police to take “the unprecedented step” of canceling all criminal activities in the city.

But Police Chief Andrew Smith was adamant.
“With the wind chill warnings, we simply cannot have any criminals putting themselves in harm’s way at those temperatures,” he said. “Avoiding crime and criminal activities is especially important during periods of inclement weather. Also during all other times.”
The department is calling for the suspension of all retail thefts, car thefts – including those with the keys inside – and all violent crimes. Failure to comply with the ban could lead to citations, arrests, or even jail time, Smith said.
Frostbite can occur in such conditions in just minutes, Smith said. “If we didn’t speak out against this, it is simply not fair to the criminals, and I am not willing to risk it.”
Without a similar ban in surrounding communities, many area police agencies were expected to beef up patrols to accommodate the almost certain influx of criminals hoping to get around the Green Bay ban.
Smith says the city's ban will remain in effect until further notice.

“I took it on when I was elected county attorney in Bee County” in 1988, said former state Rep. Jose Aliseda, who is now district attorney in a three-county area in South Texas. Even back then, he said, voter fraud “had already been part of the political landscape there for a long time. “
History shows that voter fraud has been part of elections in Texas for decades. And money, intimidation, skulduggery and misrepresentation have plagued elections in virtually every state.
In recent years Democrats and major media outlets have dismissed claims of significant voter fraud, including those by President Trump. But the disputed midterm outcome last month in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District – centering on allegedly illegal ballot harvesting for the Republican candidate and apparent winner – has put the issue at center stage of American politics.
Also stoking debate is a law passed by California in 2016 that made ballot harvesting legal. Republicans believe it helped Democrats flip House seats in their traditional stronghold of Orange County during this year’s midterms.
Republican-dominated Texas, home to one of the most significant stolen elections in American history – Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson’s 1948 race for the Senate – may be ground zero for the issue because it has, perhaps more than any other state, worked to combat it.

The increase in convictions stems in part from legislation that took effect Dec. 1, 2017, with an enhanced definition of voter fraud and slightly increased penalties from misdemeanor to felony in certain cases, including offenses involving a voter aged 65 or older.
The attorney general’s office, which declined to comment for this article, has also invested more money in policing fraud, both for staff and administrative costs.
The basic element in most of the cases is the mail-in, or absentee, ballot. A voter who is either 65 or older, infirm, or otherwise unable to get to the polls on voting day can elect to vote by mail. Texas law allows for someone to assist such voters within limits. Close relatives can assist, and non-relatives must comply with rules on signing, handling, and mailing in the ballot.
Illegal vote harvesters often get to know the elderly and the sick in a community – people most likely to vote by mail. Under the guise of assistance, they advise on whom to vote for or take the ballot and cast the vote themselves.
In some cases, they intercept mail-in ballots, vote in accordance with whoever’s paying them, forging voters’ signatures. In other cases, they request, intercept, fill-in, and return absentee ballots in the names of unwitting voters.
The harvesters, who can work for a slate of candidates, are often called canvassers on campaign finance reports, where expenditures are noted. Other times the acronym “GOTV” is listed under purpose of payment, for “get out the vote.” Sometimes “labor” is the term used. The region-specific name for harvesters in Texas is "politiqueras."
The operatives can earn as much as $5,000 in an election season, mostly in hotly contested local races and primaries. And they can become the building blocks of local political organizations.
The practice has its roots in Latin America, said K.B. Forbes, a political consultant and Hispanic activist who has served as an elections observer in Sonora, Mexico. “In the Latin culture, they have colonias, which is ‘little colony,’ literally,” he said. “In these, they sometimes have the equivalent of a precinct boss, and that’s how people move up. The [politiqueras] deliver the vote and when the candidate moves in, the theory is that they get a good post inside the government.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Tuesday that he wants special counsel Robert Mueller's report on the Russia investigation to be as "open" as possible.

Currently under Justice Department guidelines, a special counsel sends a confidential report to the attorney general “explaining the prosecution or declination decisions reached” during an investigation.
But the Justice Department would likely face intense pressure from both parties to make at least part of Mueller's report public. The Russia probe has been a years-long drama and source of intrigue that has dominated much of the Trump administration.
Trump's attorney general nominee William Barr told members of the Judiciary Committee during his confirmation hearing earlier this month that it was his “intent” to release as much about Mueller’s findings as he can consistent with the law. But he stopped short of pledging to release the report in its entirety.
“My goal will be to provide as much transparency as I can, consistent with the law,” Barr told lawmakers. “I can assure you that, where judgments are to be made, I will make those judgments based solely on the law and I will not let personal, political or other improper interests influence my decision.”
Democrats have raised concerns that Barr, or Trump, could try to block the report from being released.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), the Judiciary Committee chairman, said during a hearing on Tuesday that Barr, if confirmed, would have "discretion" about how Mueller's report is released but said he would "just trust the guy to make good judgements."

As President Trump and Democrats feud over funding for a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, a clip from the 1950s television series "Trackdown" that captured eerie parallels between the show and reality resurfaced. In the episode titled "The End of the World," a sketchy salesman by the name of Walter Trump pitches the idea of building a giant wall, claiming it would protect townspeople from a catastrophic cosmic event.
On Wednesday, "Gravity Falls" creator Alex Hirsch tweeted a part of the episode and it went viral. But it wasn't the first time the video made the rounds. CBS News confirmed with its internal archival department that the episode aired on the network May 9, 1958. It was written by the late John Robinson, who's credited on 18 episodes in the "Trackdown" series, which follows the adventures of a Texas Ranger as he "travels the Old West tracking down assorted killers, bank robbers, horse thieves and other evildoers," according to IMDb.
In the clip, Walter Trump, who is played by actor Lawrence Dobkin, claims he's the only one who can save the villagers from meteors by building a wall. Nearly everyone believes him, and fear grips the population. Trump threatens to sue Texas Ranger Hoby Gilman (played by Robert Culp), the only person who openly doubts him.
"I am the only one. Trust me. I can build a wall around your homes that nothing will penetrate," said Trump, whom the narrator describes as the "high priest of fraud." "You ask how do you build that wall. You ask, and I'm here to tell you."
Trump eventually dupes the frightened population into forking over cash to start paying for the wall, and some even team up to rob a bank. At the end of the episode, as Trump tries to depart from the town, he's arrested and then shot by a villager he tried to conspire with.

The Truth About Gold’s Golden Cross
A golden cross occurs when the 50-day moving average crosses above the 200-day moving average. Its supposed to be a bullish signal and it just happened in Gold.
In order to know if this is meaningful, we should check the history and assess the results.
We used weekly charts (with equivalent moving averages) so you can see the history in two charts. Blue lines were bullish while red lines were bearish.
First, we show 1970 through 2002.

Next, is 2002 through today.

There have been 20 golden crosses and 11 have been bullish with 9 being bearish.
When the primary trend is higher the golden crosses tend to work as a bullish signal. When the primary trend is lower or sideways, the golden crosses can serve as a warning for bulls.
However, there are times when the cross can happen as it precedes a change in the primary trend. The best examples of this are the crosses in June 2001 and September 2012.
One turned out to be a massive buy signal while the other was a massive sell signal.
In effect, the signal for Gold is not important or especially useful. It has a mixed track record and because of that its useless as a leading indicator.
(As an aside, I’m guessing its probably more effective for equities).
Interestingly, there will be a golden cross before Gold makes a major breakout. It’s a mathematical certainty. I’m just not sure it’s going to be this one.
Rather than focusing on something with a mixed record, you should focus on the pending shift in Fed policy. The historical data (as I’ve shared numerous times over the past year) shows that is when rebounds and bull markets usually begin in gold stocks.
Going back 65 years, I count 13 times when the Fed went from rate hikes to rate cuts. The average gain in gold stocks during 11 of those periods was 172%.
The moves higher began an average and median of three to four months after the last hike.
When it’s clear the Fed is shifting policy, that is when we want to be aggressive buyers

The scandal-plagued ACORN may no longer exist, but its tarnished legacy lives on in court, as the activist group and its former employees face criminal punishment.So far this year, at least 18 former workers have admitted guilt or been convicted on varying charges of election fraud. The punishment has ranged from probation to several months of prison time.
ACORN, once a powerful advocate for low-income and minority voters, shuttered its operations amid plummeting revenues in March, six months after conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute caught on video some of the group's employees offering them tax advice.
But the group is still facing charges in Nevada on conspiracy to commit the crime of compensation for registration of voters.The trial, originally scheduled to begin Monday, has been postponed likely until next year.
Former workers across the country already are being punished for their criminal activities.
In Miami, seven former ACORN voter registration canvassers were convicted of "false swearing-in an election," and sentenced to probation and community service and banned from participating in future political campaigns, according to court documents.
In Pennsylvania, six of seven former ACORN workers who were charged in an investigation were convicted of unsworn falsification and interference with election officials. Four have reached a plea agreement on reduced charges and will serve two years of probation. Cases against two others who entered pleas to reduced charges are pending.
Charges against the seventh, Eric Jordan, are not being prosecuted because Jordan has pleaded guilty to much more serious charges, including aggravated assault, resisting arrest and carrying firearms without a license.
In Milwaukee, three former ACORN workers have been convicted of election fraud.
Last week, Kevin Clancy was sentenced to 10 months in prison for his role in submitting falsified voter registration forms before the 2008 election. Clancy will start his sentence once he finishes another sentence he is currently serving for armed robbery.
Clancy's co-worker, Maria Miles, who pleaded guilty to election fraud in August, will be sentenced on Dec. 6.

Why would they know that? They are giving us an example, right in front of our eyes, of how the system is broken so it can be fixed.
Stone is the Key to blow the whole thing wide open. The left hates him so they want to see him prosecuted. The right can't figure him out. So he is the perfect person to be the one to help open everyone's eyes on how bad things got during the election. He knows too much and has always been somewhere lurking during everything. He is willing to endure all this to bring the truth to light.
Stone has done nothing wrong but what if he is the reason this thing goes from Russia hacking the DNC to Seth Rich handing the emails off and then helps bring back the missing emails and where they are. He could be one that gives Mueller the excuse he needs to bring in the REAL COLLUSION.
