President Trump is eying Washington litigator Pat Cipollone to replace outgoing White House counsel Donald McGahn, according to two people familiar with the president’s thinking.
Earlier this week, Trump interviewed Cipollone, a former Justice Department attorney who practices commercial litigation at Stein Mitchell Cipollone Beato & Missner, the people said. Trump is “strongly considering” Cipollone for the job, one person said.
Cipollone has been advising Trump’s outside legal team since at least June. He is also close to Emmet Flood, a White House lawyer who is helping handle the special counsel investigation and is himself being considered for the top legal position.
Trump announced Wednesday that McGahn, who has led the administration’s efforts to reshape the judiciary, will leave his post in the coming weeks.

It does make sense that Mueller would be working on our side. The media obviously can't say "don't trust Mueller because he's not going after Trump, he's really helping Sessions go after crimes of the DNC." Crimes? what crimes? let's hear more.

IMF backs South Africa’s plan to confiscate land from white farmers
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approves of South Africa’s controversial land reform as long as the highly contentious process is “rules-based” and transparent, according to the fund’s representative in the country.
Montfort Mlachila, the IMF’s senior resident representative in South Africa, said that the regulation must not damage agricultural output and put at risk food supplies for the country’s citizens.
“We are in full support of the need to undertake land reforms in order to address the issues of inequality,” Mlachila said in an interview with Reuters.
There is need to have a transparent, rules-based, and constitutional process that leads to desirable outcomes. It is particularly important not to undermine agricultural production and food security.”
The widely debated land reform was proposed by the country’s ruling African National Congress (ANC) in 2015, and received full support of the newly elected President Cyril Ramaphosa. The proposed measure will allow the South African government to expropriate land belonging to the country’s white farmers without compensation.
A major part of South African farmlands is still owned by the country’s white minority. The current president vowed to change the South African constitution to grant some of the land to the landless black majority.
The draft reform, which reportedly provoked violent attacks and even murders of white farmers, triggered a great uproar internationally. Last week, US President Donald Trump ordered Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to closely study the issue. Earlier this year, the Australian government started issuing emergency visas for farmers facing violence in South Africa.
Last week, the ANC announced the withdrawal of the disputed draft by the Portfolio Committee on Public Works for further study. According to the committee’s chairperson, Humphrey Mmemezi, the bill was referred to parliament on procedural grounds, but they couldn’t duplicate a separate parliamentary process. Afterwards, the ANC announced their commitment to push the land reform through.

NBC News covered up a credible rape allegation against Harvey Weinstein, according to sources who spoke to the New York Times and Daily Beast.
“Three days before Ronan [Farrow] and I were going to head to L.A. to interview a woman with a credible rape allegation against Harvey Weinstein, I was ordered to stop, not to interview this woman,” an NBC News whistleblower told the far-left New York Times. “And to stand down on the story altogether.”
“Farrow was prepared to fly to California to interview a woman who was going to claim in silhouette on camera that Weinstein had raped her,” reports the far-left Daily Beast. “Farrow wanted to publish this interview and what he had already gathered, but network higher-ups said he needed more and would not allow Farrow to use an NBC News crew for the interview[.]”
The NBC News whistleblower is Rich McHugh, a 43-year-old producer who worked closely with Farrow on the Weinstein story. He left his job at NBC’s investigative unit some two weeks ago for an opportunity to work for Al Gore on a climate change documentary.
In order to tell his Weinstein story, Farrow was eventually forced to take his reporting to the New Yorker, where it was published two months later and won a Pulitzer Prize. Farrow felt he had no choice because NBC refused to run the story, kept putting him off, kept telling him the story was not solid enough.
This, of course, is ridiculous. Before he left, Farrow spent eight long months putting together his story, and by the time he left NBC he not only had the rape accuser, he had audio tape from a police undercover operation where Weinstein admitted to groping a model and other women.
Noah Oppenheim, the president of NBC News, told the New York Times Farrow “was never told to stop in the way he’s implying.”
Oppenheim, however, has yet to explain why audio tape of Weinstein (a big-time Democrat player and Clinton supporter, and the most powerful man in Hollywood at the time) admitting to groping women was not in and of itself a legitimate story.
As Breitbart News reported previously, Oppenheim’s conflicts of interest are jaw-dropping. Not only does Oppenheim moonlight as a screenwriter, he shared a table with Weinstein at the Time 100 Gala in April of 2017, which, according to the timeline above, happened months after Farrow had started his investigation.
According to the Daily Beast, Oppenheim is blaming his boss, NBC News Chairman Andy Lack, for making him the scapegoat.
Numerous outlets have reported this week that Lack is already on the chopping block over his mishandling of the Matt Lauer sexual harassment scandal and the hiring of Megyn Kelly, one of the most expensive duds in media history.
NBC News itself has also been under fire after the far-left network circled the wagons for MSNBC anchor Joy Reid, who serial lied as a means to blame a supposed hacker (that does not exist) for homophobic ravings published on her personal blog a decade ago.
In each of these instances, rather than bring in outside investigators to fully vet the scandal (as Fox News has done), NBC News chose to investigate NBC News, and each and every time NBC News was able to report that it found no wrongdoing at NBC News.
Chuck Todd, moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press, recently blamed Fox News for the public’s lack of faith in the establishment media. The current accusations against NBC News, the accusation NBC News covered up a credible rape allegation, come from two left-wing media outlets and a producer who now works for Al Gore.
Chuck Todd has yet to explain how Fox News orchestrated all of this.

Two of Mueller’s Prosecutors Quit Office of Special Counsel
Two of Robert Mueller’s prosecutors quit the office of special counsel, the Justice Department confirmed this week.
Prosecutors Ryan Dickey and Brian Richardson, two of the more junior lawyers quit Mueller’s team.
Peter Carr, a spox for the special counsel said that neither Dickey nor Richardson left the office because of political allegations, the appearance of bias or any other wrongdoing, CNN reported.
Mueller’s team of angry Democrat lawyers in now down to 15 from 17.
CNN reported on where the two lawyers have relocated:
Richardson recently became a research fellow at Columbia Law School, according to the law school’s spokeswoman Nancy Goldfarb.
Dickey will continue to work on criminal matters at the Justice Department. Though he worked out of Mueller’s office last year, he was always employed by the Justice Department’s criminal division, specializing in computer and intellectual property crimes.
He has not officially removed himself in court from the legal teams prosecuting three ongoing Mueller-initiated cases. The cases involving Dickey are the indictment of 12 Russian military agents for allegedly hacking Democrats during the election, 16 Russians and companies accused of operating a social media troll farm to influence American voters and the plea deal of a California-based online bank account auctioneer who admitted to identity fraud that helped the Russian social media trolls. That online auctioneer, Richard Pinedo, is scheduled to be sentenced on October 1.

Polls are a special case – the practice appears to have been to have models based on demographics and 'past elections' – then, to 'update' them with new data at some weighting. Since the past history represents 'consensus history', and the weighting can be 'tuned' to make certain demographics count moar than others. In a real measurement, this bad weighting would be a source of error – but whoever sees the real world, at scale? It is, in effect, a way of manufacturing consensus.
This is similar to exponential smoothing, ARMA/ARIMA processes, and other time series – where the 'past memory' [of fraudulent results] is quite bogus and the weighting is controlled too. We learned a *lot* about how this worked during the Bush/Gore election.
At the time (2000), the MSM managed the results at a single media centre, a shared pool called NEP. Because of a leak of the exit poll data to a magazine called Scoop in NZ, we could see the aggregation process. In particular, the telephone polls had different lengths than the in person polls, so it was possible to look at the counts for the last few questions and *deduce* the ratio of telephone polling and in person polling, by region, and see several snapshots of how the weights evolved in different regions – North and West Coast being Blue, and South and Midwest (Redder).
The results, needless to say, were alarming.

The Donetsk People's Republic Operational Command said Friday that exits and entrances to Donetsk have been closed following a blast that left the republic's head Alexander Zakharchenko dead and three more injured.
A lawmaker of the People's Council of the DPR confirmed reports about the death of DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko in a bomb explosion in downtown Donetsk on Friday.
"The DPR leader died in the explosion at Separ cafe," Vladislav Berdichevsky told reporters.
Later DPR Head adviser said that the bomb that killed Zakharchenko was deliberately placed in the restaurant he visited.
According to the government source, Zakharchenko died due to a severe head wound. The security source with the self-proclaimed People's Republic told Sputnik that DPR Finance Minister Alexander Timofeev was also wounded in the incident.
Russia's Reaction to Zakharchenko's Assassination
Addressing the death of the DPR head, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow considers the blast to be a terrorist attack carried out by Kiev.
"Instead of implementing the Minsk agreements and looking for means to settle the internal conflict, Kiev's party of war is implementing a terrorist scenario and is aggravating the already difficult situation in the region. Without fulfilling its peace promises, they decided to launch a bloody slaughter," Zakharova told reporters, also calling for an impartial investigation, monitored by the international community.
According to the diplomat, since the West had assumed control over the situation in Ukraine, it was now the duty of the Western governments to "guarantee an impartial investigation."
Kiev's Response to Incident
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), in turn, rejected the accusations of involvement in the assassination.
"We confirm this information [about Zakharchenko's death], but Ukrainian security services have nothing to do with this. In our opinion, this was the result of wars between local leaders dividing something," SBU spokeswoman Elena Gitlyanskaya told the UNN agency.
Zakharchenko joined the Donetsk militia following a coup in Kiev in 2014 and was elected leader of the Donetsk People's Republic in November 2014.

However, you are missing the implication of the bandwagon effect going both ways.
People react to what is delivered from on high, eg from the accepted media, even if they distrust the media, if many of their fellow consumers also react. Stuff ends up getting magnified on FB and in the local news and other forums.
So if you all were to toss some red meat into this public square, some confirmation of criminal behavior by, say, HRC or the Bushes or Obama or No Name or even someone lower, it would destroy this Echo Chamber (which, you must admit, is currently owned by the bad guys).
Because here is the logic of the Echo Chamber: Trump is a criminal, ergo, everyone who criticizes him is a good guy.
