So, What Do You Mean They Can Survive Space?
Well, exactly that. But it is a bit complicated.
If you’re a well-read person on completely random facts that have no impact on your life, you may have heard of tardigrades living on the moon.
Let’s take a step back for a second.
In 2007, a European Space Agency mission took some tardigrades along with them. Science, bitch.
For the sake of experimentation, some tardigrades were directly exposed to the vacuum of space and solar radiation. A bunch of them survived.
Not only that, some even continued to reproduce afterward.
Okay, so about the whole living-on-the-moon thing.
In 2019, humanity once again sent some tardigrades into space. This time, on a 2019 Israeli spacecraft called Beresheet.
This particular spacecraft crashed into the moon.
The thing about these tardigrades was that, unlike the 2007 mission, these ones were in cryptobiosis. Dehydrated jerky.
So, they’re not really LIVING on the moon, per se.
They’re just… there. Little dry tardigrade pebbles sitting there, suspended in time.
Tardigrades can survive super extreme conditions, but even the moon is too much for them.
It has no breathable atmosphere, no liquid water, and extreme radiation.
If they were alive and kicking up there, it would be super interesting to see how they adapt and evolve.
Would we see a civilization of tardigrades up there?
What Makes Tardigrades So Resilient?
In short, they possess special proteins that help protect their DNA from damage.
That’s pretty much the extent of what we know about them. Scientists x1000 clever-er than me are studying them diligently in hopes of understanding more about how they developed this resilience.
Understanding tardigrades could lead us to new revolutions in biotechnology and modern medicine.
You’d be surprised at how we use different types of insects and sea creatures and stuff.
For example, we use crushed-up insects in lipstick. The horseshoe crab’s blue blood is used to test vaccines. Salmon semen for skin-related products.
The list goes on.
Maybe we can use tardigrades in some way?

Shortly after President Trump declared the Strait of Hormuz "an American territory" on Friday evening, the New York Post published a new report citing UK Maritime Trade Operations data showing that commercial traffic through the critical waterway has rebounded sharply as more vessels use a US-backed route along Oman's coast. This suggests that the US military presence and offensive operations in the region have degraded Tehran's ability to fully control the waterway.
Nearly 200 ships navigated the strait last week, up from about 150 the previous week and just 40 two weeks earlier, according to UKMTO data. Traffic has recovered to roughly 20% of prewar levels, when the waterway carried about one-fifth of the world’s seaborne oil.
"It increasingly looks like Iran has at least partially lost control of the strait," Homayoun Falakshahi, head of crude oil analysis at Kpler, told CNN.
"The Oman route absolutely makes the most sense," added Dan Pickering, founder of Pickering Energy Partners, noting that it allows vessels to avoid the possibility of paying a toll to Tehran.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz both said Sunday that they had instructed the IDF to take significant action after the launching of kites from the Gaza Strip over the weekend.
Subsequent Israeli strikes in Gaza on Sunday were reported to kill three people, including a young boy.
In a statement, Netanyahu said he directed the defense establishment and the IDF to do “everything” to confront what he called the “lethal” threat of drones to Israel.
“We have been working for several years on a solution to the drone threat. We are the most advanced in the world, but this is a global problem,” Netanyahu said in a video message, saying the weapons have been used in Ukraine and Lebanon, “and now they are trying to renew this threat and bring it into Gaza.”
While Netanyahu did not mention the incident directly, he appeared to be drawing a connection between recent kite launches from Gaza and the broader threat posed by armed drones.
The military stressed that “no suspicious findings were identified on the kites,” and that “at no stage was there any danger to the public.” But according to Hebrew media reports, the IDF believes that Hamas was responsible for launching the kites, and was doing so to test whether and how Israel would respond.
“My directive to the defense establishment and the IDF is to do everything against this lethal weapon — to strike it, to strike those operating it, to strike the place from which it was launched, to do everything in order to protect our citizens in the Gaza border communities and everywhere else,” Netanyahu said.
Palestinian media reported one dead and several wounded in an Israeli airstrike in the central Gaza Strip on Sunday morning. The strike took place near the Maghazi camp.
The IDF later said that the strike killed Ismail Abu Ful, who it said was the commander of an arms production site. The military said that “the terrorist took an active part in manufacturing explosive devices and anti-tank rockets” for Hamas, and he was “eliminated to remove the threat.”
In a separate strike in the nearby town of az-Zawayda, the IAF struck a weapons manufacturing site “near an aid distribution point operated by an international organization,” according to the IDF.
Shrapnel from that strike, which came after a warning by the IDF for residents of the area, reportedly killed two people, including a 4-year-old boy, and injured several others.

The notorious and cruel 1953 Mableton UFO hoax

This is an evergreen article that we periodically republish, often edited with more information as we research the topic. It was originally published last year when the public got access to the Blue Book files.
The National Archive recently provided a searchable window into lightly redacted versions of the Project Blue Book files, a record of the U.S. Air Force investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs).
The reports were assembled from March 1952 to the project’s termination on December 17, 1969, during widespread furor around UFOs.
One of the cases in the file was about a notorious and cruel hoax in Mableton (Austell in some accounts, but the incident took place within the current boundaries of the City of Mableton) carried out on July 7, 1953, when a 28-year-old Atlanta barber named Ed Watters and two friends claimed they struck an alien from a flying saucer while driving along what was then Bankhead Highway in the Leland area of Cobb County in Watters’ pickup truck.
The area is now on Veterans Memorial Highway, incorporated into Mableton.
The three young men described it this way: the flying saucer landed, and three small creatures emerged from it.
Upon seeing the approaching pickup truck, two of the creatures jumped into the saucer and flew off in a blaze of blue light, while the other creature was struck and killed by the truck.
Initially, according to a news clipping in the file (not labeled with the newspaper’s name), Watters succeeded in getting news coverage, as it was picked up by wire services and distributed across the country.
But when Dr. Herman Jones of the GBI State Crime Lab and scientists at Emory University examined the remains, they determined it was a monkey.
Dr. Marion Hines, a professor of experimental anatomy at Emory, said at the time, “If the creature came from Mars, they have monkeys on Mars.”
At that point, Watters admitted to the hoax. He had purchased a monkey, killed it, shaved it and removed its tail.
He was initially charged with animal cruelty, but the Cobb police chief dropped those charges when it was found the killing had been done in Fulton County.
Ultimately, Watters was charged under a health law that prohibited putting a dead animal on a state highway. He was charged a $40 fine.

7 July 1953 Atlanta, Georgia
Description
On the night of 7 July 1953, three observers from Atlanta were driving on Highway 78 near Mableton, Georgia (the document misspelled it “Mapleton”), when they encountered a “flying saucer” in the middle of the road.
There were three small animals near this red colored “saucer”. As the observers bore down on this object, two of the animals entered the “saucer” and escaped. As the “saucer” rose and disappeared at a 45 degree angle, it turned a light blue in color.
Observers’ car struck the third animal and knocked him unconscious. After getting out of the car and finding this animal which was approximately 21 inches in length, had long ears, no hair, and no tail, observers stayed at the scene and several other automobiles stopped.
The animal died in about 30 minutes and was taken to one of the Atlanta newspapers. A reporter for the newspaper called the FBI, who in turn called the GBI to investigate the incident.
Discussion
This animal was first examined by a local veterinarian, who stated that he had never seen such an animal before.
Later the animal was taken to Emory University where an Emory authority identified it as a member of the monkey family and not an “animal from space”.
A member of the State Crime Laboratory and another member of the Emory University staff identified the animal as a monkey which had been shaved and from which the tail had been removed.
Observers confirmed that the whole story was a hoax resulting from a $10.00 bet that he (observer) could not get his picture in the paper. Observer was fined $40.00 for obstructing the highway and was released at that time.
Conclusion:
Other: hoax.

Turkey issues fresh ‘genocide’ arrest warrant for Netanyahu amid growing Syria tensions

Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government on Friday issued another arrest warrant for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, amid spiking tensions between the two countries over an Israeli strike in Syria.
Turkey has already issued warrants against Netanyahu and other top officials for “genocide” over Israel’s actions in the war against Hamas in Gaza. Israel firmly denies accusations of genocide.
The new warrant accuses Netanyahu of “genocide” over the interception in May of a flotilla carrying some 430 activists to the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, which sparked international outcry. France, Italy and Australia have also launched judicial proceedings.
Turkey’s Justice Minister Akin Gurlek said on X that his ministry had asked the interior ministry to issue Interpol red notice alerts for Netanyahu and another Israeli, named as Afek Moskovitch, as part of a larger case against 35 people.
A red notice is a request to police forces worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition. Interpol reviews requests submitted by member states before deciding whether to issue red notices.
“As part of the judicial proceedings concerning the attack in international waters on the Flotilla activists (…) and in accordance with the arrest warrants issued on July 14, 2026, against Benjamin Netanyahu and Afek Moskovitch for ‘genocide,’ the ministry of justice has requested that the ministry of the interior issue red notices for their international arrest,” Gurlek stated.
Netanyahu and Moskovitch are being prosecuted for “crimes against humanity, genocide, aggravated deprivation of liberty, ‘intentional assault and battery,’ torture, destruction of property, aggravated looting, and hijacking of transport vehicles,” the ministry said.
The Turkish statement didn’t provide any additional details about Moskovitch and no additional information about him could be found.
In response, Netanyahu’s office said that Erdogan “now seeks to extend his aggression against Israel into Syria. Israel will not tolerate it.” The Israeli statement reiterated past accusations by Jerusalem against Erdogan, calling him “an antisemitic dictator who has massacred Kurds, harbors Hamas terrorists, occupies half of Cyprus, and jails record numbers of journalists and politicians who oppose him.”
“Erdogan’s pathetic attempt to intimidate the leaders and soldiers of Israel, the only true democracy in the Middle East, will go nowhere,” the statement added.
In a separate Hebrew-language statement, the Prime Minister’s Office asserted that “Israel will continue to act forcefully against Turkey’s attempts to destabilize the region and against any threat to its security.”
Erdogan’s office in turn denounced Netanyahu’s “petty political tactics.”
In a statement posted on X, the Turkish presidency condemned what it called the Netanyahu government’s attempt “to present Turkey as a new threat.”

Science by press release: Moderna cashes in on mRNA cancer vaccine without publishing trial results
"These corporations have learned how to play the medical-scientific establishment like a Stradivarius," Johns Hopkins cardiology operations chief says after Moderna share price spikes. Its mRNA flu vaccine trial data are still hidden.
When the Food and Drug Administration approved Moderna's mRNA flu vaccine, the first ever, two weeks ago, the pharmaceutical company that reaped billions from federal taxpayers with its mRNA COVID-19 vaccine didn't wait for the agency to even publicly post the approval. Moderna rushed out the news at 10 p.m., with a 4% increase in its share price the next morning.
It was a promising market signal for a drugmaker whose revenue cratered following the collapse in demand for COVID vaccines, which also led Pfizer to cancel a trial this spring for its own updated mRNA COVID jab.
What Moderna left out of the release Wednesday, and the media ignored: the mRNA flu jab's disproportionately high rate of serious adverse events compared to a normal flu shot – the same problem with its Omicron-specific COVID vaccine three years ago – and the number of jabs required to prevent a single hospitalization, 5,000.
Yet the market and the media went crazy for Moderna this week when it announced "positive topline results" from a late-stage trial of its cancer vaccine with Merck, with a 177% spike in its share price on top of a 357% increase this year before the cancer vaccine news, despite no published trial data or FDA approval.
The jargon-laden press release said the melanoma trial met its primary and secondary endpoints: "recurrence-free survival" and "distant metastasis-free survival."
What it obscured: Taken with Merck's cancer therapy Keytruda following removal of cancerous tumors, the treatment – technically not a "vaccine" – lengthened cancer patients' lives and halted their cancer's progress for an unspecified period of time.
The company has laid out a potential media-tested roadmap for other drugmakers, at least those working with mRNA technology: A glowing but vague press release is enough to juice their coffers and create demand for as-yet unapproved products with unknown risk profiles.
'Essential' to WHO and stockpiled by governments without a rigorous trial
Some doctors are asking why Moderna gets a pass from scrutiny by withholding data while juicing its share price. (Moderna has promised its cancer vaccine data will be "presented at an upcoming international medical meeting and shared with regulatory authorities.")
Data from its "pivotal clinical trial" for the recently approved mRNA flu vaccine is still missing from the National Institutes of Health's ClinicalTrials.gov, FDA adviser Retsef Levi, whose 2022 peer-reviewed study found COVID vaccination "significantly associated" with emergency heart problems in young Israelis, wrote on X.
"Is it not mandated?" he asked, tagging Director Jay Bhattacharya and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. "How come the data from the major trial used for approval [is] not publicly reported?" Robert Malone, the mRNA pioneer, deadpanned "Rules for thee but not for me."
The scrutiny of the hidden flu trial data comes as a new randomized trial of Roche's $18 billion flu antiviral Tamiflu (oseltamivir) suggests it's harmful to the most vulnerable patients, with fatality rates around 20% for those who took it for 5-10 days and 14% for the control group.
Not yet peer-reviewed, the study is the first to compare Tamiflu to "no antiviral treatment in a randomized trial of critically ill patients with influenza," Harvard Med professor Paul Sax wrote in New England Journal of Medicine Voices this week.
"We somehow reached a point where a drug was routinely given, endorsed by guidelines, placed on the World Health Organization’s Essential Medicines List specifically for severe influenza, and stockpiled by governments – all without that trial ever having been done," Sax wrote.
Former New York Times drug industry journalist Alex Berenson, who flagged the Tamiflu trial, previously noted the perils of hyping a treatment without a rigorous trial, judging by a gonorrhea vaccine study in NEJM this summer.
The randomized placebo-controlled trial of men who have sex with men, following supposedly positive observational studies, found the vaccine didn't benefit the treatment group but seriously hurt some of them.
"Not one mainstream American news outlet reported the vaccine’s failure" and England is "so far still recommending it despite the new results," Berenson wrote.

Jack - son of rock icon Ozz - and now a paranormal investigator TV host, outlined how one of Trump’s inner circle is also close to him and confided the White House leader’s revelations.
Trump opened up the UFO files from the Pentagon as part of his promise on his re-election.
Jack confessed: “Now with all these documents coming out from the government being like, there's something going on. I have a friend who is very close with the President.
“They speak once a week, like, clockwork; every Saturday they have a phone call. And he asked him, he's like, ‘what's the deal with all this UFO stuff?’
“And apparently, Trump said, ‘We have no idea what they are, but they're in the ocean.’ Which I think is kind of interesting.”
He added that Trump’s comments “makes sense” as “parts of the ocean have never been explored” Jack feels that visitors from out of space are connected to Earth.
“I think they're like observing us. I think Sentinel Island - that island in the Indian Ocean, which is completely isolated. No one's allowed to set foot in it, and there's people that have been living there forever, and we just kind of sit back and watch them.
I think that's a lot of what goes on. And then they will abduct you.
“Where I sit with like the paranormal stuff is like, I am like a foot in being like a believer. I kind of ride the sceptic line. So I always kind of, whenever anyone tells me a story, I'm kind of like, okay, like, interesting.
“So I don't necessarily know.”
Jack, who also is the owner of Spark.TV, a channel looking at the paranormal, opened up on the bombshell revelation discussing his own battle with believing those who have experienced abductions.
“I tried to produce a TV show back in the day that was a UFO abduction support group, and it was all these folks sat around, kept sharing their stories. Some were pretty similar: a room filled with light, and they kind of hovered it out of that window.
Some would just, like, wait, what? Like, totally out there.”
Jack also was on set for a TV show, where a man claimed he had been implanted by an alien.
“There was a documentary that came out, a documentary called Patient 17 where they did a surgery and removed an alien implant from a guy. I was there for the surgery.
“It was in his leg. It kind of looked like a kidney stone, like a large kidney stone.”
Jack feels that are “some hostile and some friendly” extraterrestrials who have interacted with Earth. He provided his insight into some humans’ ET experiences
“This one thing with abduction, I think trauma is a huge part to it. “I think some people's trauma responses, they will have these, you know, visions, hallucinations, whatever are people actually remembering when you're born, you're in a very white room with very bright lights, and these big, massive creatures with big heads are looking at you. And I think that that could be a possibility with some.”
