Comet R3 PanSTARRS and Orion
Orion never had a sword like this. As Comet C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS) heads out of the inner Solar System, it is putting on quite a show for long exposure cameras. Currently seen toward the constellation of Orion the Hunter, the distant Orion Nebula is visible on the upper right. Comet R3 PanSTARRS is now showing two distinct tails: a short dust tail pointing toward the top of the image and a long and wavy ion tail trailing off toward the upper left. The ion tail points away from the Sun and glows blue from excited carbon monoxide. Large particles in the dust tail somewhat resist the radiation pressure that push them away from the Sun and so retain a bit of the comet's orbit. The dust tail shines by reflected sunlight. The featured image was taken a few days ago from France's Reunion Island in the southern Indian Ocean.

"In June 2025, [almost a year earlier] Mejer called the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to complain that someone was posting pictures of her then-13-year-old son riding an E-motorcycle. During a 28-minute interaction with two Orange County Sheriff’s deputies captured on body worn camera, Mejer admitted that she purchased her son a Surron E-motorcycle and knew that he drove it recklessly. The deputies warned her that she could face potential criminal charges if she continued to allow him to ride the E-motorcycle which he could not legally ride.
"[After her son struck Ed Ashman with the E-E-motorcycle that it was illegal for him to drive, his mother,] Tommi Jo Mejer, 50, of Aliso Viejo, [who had] previously been charged with one felony count of child endangerment, one felony count of accessory after the fact to a crime, one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one misdemeanor count of loaning a motor vehicle to an unlicensed driver, and one misdemeanor count of providing false information to a peace officer.

The dispute centers on whether the "Twitter" trademark was effectively abandoned after the rebranding, and whether another company may legally register or use the name.
Background
In July 2023, X Corp., owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk, rebranded the social media platform Twitter as X. The rebranding included the removal of the well-known bird logo, the replacement of the domain name twitter.com with x.com, and the gradual elimination of terminology such as "tweet" and "retweet" from the platform's branding. A 2023 post said that the company was ready to "bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds".[1]
In 2025, the startup Operation Bluebird announced plans to launch a new social networking service under the name twitter.new. The company also filed a petition with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) seeking cancellation of several Twitter-related trademarks, and a new "Twitter" trademark for itself. Operation Bluebird argued that X Corp. had abandoned the trademarks by ceasing active commercial use of the brand. The petition was filed by Stephen Coates, who used to work as a trademark lawyer for Twitter, and now works for Operation Bluebird.[1]
X Corp. updated X's terms of service as a result of the case. It now says that X and Twitter's names, logos domain names and other distinctive features can not be used by others without permission; formerly it only mentioned X.[2]
Legal claims
Operation Bluebird argued that the rebranding of Twitter to X constituted trademark abandonment under U.S. trademark law. According to the company, the removal of the Twitter name, logos, and terminology from the platform demonstrated an intent to discontinue use of the mark.[2][3]
X Corp. rejected these claims and filed legal action against Operation Bluebird. The company argued that the Twitter trademarks remained valid and enforceable, and that the attempt to use the name by another company constituted trademark infringement.[1]
X Corp. further stated that the Twitter brand remains historically associated with its platform, that the trademarks were not relinquished despite the rebranding, and that it would cause consumer confusion.[1]
Analysis
Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney based on Washington DC, who has been following the case, considered it very unlikely for Operation Bluebird to win the case. He pointed out that popular recognition still associates the "Twitter" brand to the X Corp. corporation. He also pointed out that there are no similar precedents of a company dissociating itself from such a big brand.[4]

Science denier refiles lawsuit claiming Moon walks ‘faked,’ NASA promotes ‘Sun worship’

OKLAHOMA CITY — The six U.S. “Moon landings” in 1969, 1971 and 1972 were “faked.”
“Photographs” of the “fictitious globe from the moon” — such as the iconic “Earthrise” picture that astronaut William Anders shot from lunar orbit on Dec. 24, 1968, during the Apollo 8 mission — are “hoaxes.” Outer space, space travel and space exploration are “fictitious.”
Nicolaus Copernicus, Johannes Kepler, Galileo Galilei, and Isaac Newton were “so-called men of science” who were “in fact devout pupils of the earliest of magicians.”
Moreover, Newton (remember the apple falling from the tree because of gravity?) was “an occultist and a Freemason (worshipper of Lucifer, that old serpent.)”
And contrary to the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration established a religion: “heliocentrism, a form of Sun worship that involves … paganism and is a form of satanism.”
These are among the numerous claims Vincent Laurence Hepburn of Oklahoma City has spelled out in the 346-page lawsuit he filed in OKC’s Western District federal court May 1 against NASA and its administrator, Jared Isaacman.
The case has been assigned to District Judge Joe Heaton, a former state Representative and former U.S. Attorney.
Hepburn, 39, apparently is serious, because he paid the court a $405 filing fee and intends to represent himself (“pro se”) in the legal proceedings.
The Lawton Constitution called Hepburn on Saturday morning and left a voice message, but he never responded.
Hepburn maintains that NASA “blatantly honors and worship the false gods” of Helios, Sol, Apollo, Mercury and Artemis. Furthermore, “all of the planets, except for Earth,” were named after Greek and Roman gods and goddesses.
“It is apparent” that enactment and implementation of the National Aeronautics and Space Act in 1958 by President Dwight Eisenhower “was and is being done for religious purposes, in violation of the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause.”
Hepburn contends he is “aggrieved” by the Space Act and NASA’s “nonsecular official actions, activities, and dishonest/satanic/practices…”Indoctrination is “the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically,” he writes.
“For instance, questioning whether the Earth is a globe spinning at 1,000 mph while also moving at 66,600 mph … and still going … through ‘the vacuum of space’ (which makes zero sense and is unverifiable), or whether NASA actually traveled to the moon and back … is frowned upon by the federal government.”
The King James Bible, which Hepburn insists is “the truth,” makes no mention of outer space, a spinning globe, or that Earth revolves around the Sun, he noted, adding, “Pagans always place the Sun at the center of their worship.”
Automobiles and telephones aren’t mentioned in the Bible, either, but …
Hepburn argues that heliocentrism and “the Big Bang Theory” and all the publicity about space exploration and moonwalks “purposely denies the existence of God the Father and God the Son (Jesus, Who is the truth) …”The Big Bang Theory is “the foundation of heliocentrism,” Hepburn writes.
Georges Lemaître, a Belgian cosmologist “and Catholic priest,” was the creator of the Big Bang Theory. “He was also a Jesuit,” and they were “tasked with fulfilling the papacy-initiated ‘learning against learning’ agenda …”

‘Big Bang’ Theory

He distrusts Copernicus, who was Polish, because he was “raised by his mother’s brother, a bishop in the Catholic Church,” and was “a canon of the Catholic Church who was in contact with the popes of his time, which is a major red flag.”

Hepburn’s current lawsuit is a scaled-down version that presents the same arguments he made in an 884-page lawsuit he paid $405 to file in OKC’s Western District court on Jan. 9, 2024 — which Judge Heaton dismissed eight days later.
Hepburn accused NASA of releasing “inaccurate information” about “events that never happened” such as “the Big Bang, evolution, moon landings, International Space Station spacewalks, [and] space exploration,” and that they “[e]stablish[ed],” “promot[ed],” “advance[ed],” and “favor[ed] the religion of heliocentrism.”
He alleged NASA employees “have, since the agency’s inception, ‘been the spreaders of error and extremely harmful, destructive, poisonous misinformation about Earth and the workings thereof.’”
Hepburn claimed that “as a direct and proximate result” of NASA’s actions, he experienced mental suffering, emotional distress, loss of enjoyment in life, fright, shock, anger, nervousness, mortification, apprehension, terror, inconvenience, grief, depression, anxiety, humiliation, trauma, stress, paranoia, disturbance, PTSD, insomnia, and difficulty coping.
To support his claims of medical distress, Hepburn submitted a statement for insurance reimbursement for six psychotherapy sessions he underwent from December 2022 through May 2023. His therapist wrote that Hepburn “meets criteria for” generalized anxiety disorder.
He petitioned the court to award him $29.2 billion in damages.
At a cost of $605, Hepburn appealed to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, which affirmed Heaton’s ruling on July 3, 2024.
“After examining the entirety” of Hepburn’s lawsuit petition, “we conclude the district court did not err in dismissing the complaint as frivolous,” the appellate court ruled.
“A frivolous case ‘lacks an arguable basis either in law or in fact.’ Mr. Hepburn’s claims are based on the theory that NASA employees have for years been spreading information that is contrary to what he believes is contained in the King James version of the Bible.
“… Mr. Hepburn seeks to convert his privately held religious beliefs into claims for legal relief against the federal government. Mr. Hepburn cites no authority, and we are aware of none, that supports that type of legal theory” in a Federal Tort Claims Act case against the federal government.
Hepburn then asked the Supreme Court of the United States to step in. The Justices denied his request on Nov. 18, 2024.
