The alert comes after Iranian military spokesman Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi issued a chilling threat on Friday, warning that Tehran terrorists will now be targeting popular tourism havens as the US and Israel continue their attacks against Iran.

Tensions have escalated across the Middle East after the US and Israel bombed Iran on Feb. 28, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran quickly hurled retaliatory rockets at American interests in the region, with missiles hitting tourist hubs in Dubai and Israel.

A projectile struck the US Embassy in Baghdad last Friday night, hitting a helipad on the sprawling compound that Iranian-backed militants have repeatedly targeted since the conflict in the Middle East began.

Iran on Sunday also vowed to deploy a policy of “zero restraint” and hit energy infrastructure across the Persian Gulf as well as banks that do business with the US if President Trump carries out his threat to “obliterate” Tehran’s power plants.

Trump’s ultimatum demanded an end to the Islamic Republic’s hostilities in the Strait of Hormuz, a key trade route that oversees the flow of 20% of the world’s oil supply. The president set a 48-hour deadline for the deal, which ends around 8 p.m. ET on Monday.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad ⁠Baqher Qalibaf said his country would make no such concession, warning of a retaliatory attack that would ramp up already-high energy costs across the world if Trump follows through with the blitz.

State Department Renews Worldwide Caution Alert, Warns Iran Groups May Target Americans

Groups that back Iran ‘may target other U.S. interests overseas’ or Americans around the world, the alert states.

The U.S. Department of State on March 22 again advised American citizens around the world to “exercise increased caution,” renewing a worldwide caution alert that was issued by the agency in late February amid concerns about the Iran war.

“Americans abroad should follow the guidance in security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate,” the State Department said in an advisory, also noting that citizens in the Middle East should pay particular attention because U.S. diplomatic buildings have been targeted “even outside the Middle East.”

“Periodic airspace closures may cause travel disruptions.”

Groups that back the Iranian regime “may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with the United States” or Americans around the world, it said.

The bulletin does not provide any specific details about potential threats posed by groups that support Iran, although an Iranian general last week warned that Iran may attack what it considers enemies of the country in public places such as parks and tourist sites around the world.

“From now on, based on the information we have about you, even parks, recreational areas and tourist destinations anywhere in the world will no longer be safe for you,” Iranian Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi said in a statement published online by Iranian state television.

The March 22 State Department advisory also advises U.S. citizens to visit the department website to get security alerts and to follow its accounts on social media. Americans should also read any relevant travel advisories about their destination before going there, it states.

Aside from the worldwide caution alert, the State Department earlier in March raised advisory levels for multiple countries in the Middle East and advised Americans to leave most countries in the region because of the conflict. Iran has fired missiles and explosive drones at targets across the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and others.

Over the weekend, U.S. President Donald Trump and Iran traded threats as Trump warned that the U.S. military will strike civilian electrical infrastructure if Tehran does not allow the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

An Iranian official responded by saying that Iran would shut down the strait and strike power plants in the Middle East.

Trump in a Truth Social post late on March 21 set a 48-hour deadline to open the strait, warning that the country’s largest power plant would be hit first.

Since the start of the conflict on Feb. 28, Iran has essentially closed the Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Persian Gulf to the rest of the world’s oceans. About one-fifth of the global oil supply passes through the waterway, and attacks on ships and threats of more strikes have halted most traffic, causing the price of crude oil, liquid natural gas, and gasoline to surge worldwide.

The U.S. government has said that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps controls much of the country’s infrastructure and uses it to power the war effort, making it a legitimate target. Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a post on X that if Iran’s power plants and infrastructure are targeted, then vital infrastructure across the region will be destroyed.

A Danish scientist counted bugs on the same windshield, same road, same conditions, every year for 20 years. By year 20, 80% of the insects were gone.

In Germany, a group of volunteer bug scientists did something even bigger. They set traps in 63 nature reserves, not farms, protected land, and weighed everything they caught. Same traps, same method, 27 years straight. The total weight of flying bugs dropped 76%. In midsummer, when insects should be peaking, it was 82% gone. A follow-up in 2020 and 2021 checked again. No recovery.

In the UK, they literally ask drivers to count splats on their license plates after a trip. The 2024 count came back 63% lower than just 2021. Three years.

A 2020 study pulled together 166 surveys from 1,676 locations around the world. Land insects are disappearing at roughly 9% every ten years.

One 2025 study modeled what a full pollinator collapse would look like: food prices jump 30%, the global economy takes a $729 billion hit, and the world loses 8% of its Vitamin A supply.

Birds are already feeling it. North America has lost 2.9 billion birds since 1970. A study from just weeks ago found half of 261 bird species on the continent are now in serious decline, and the losses are speeding up in farming regions. The birds that eat insects lost 2.9 billion. Fulton County Numbers Don’t Match After FBI Seizure. 1/2

Officials from Fulton County, Georgia, wanted to quash a subpoena from the Georgia State Board of Elections because providing “approximately 750 boxes” of material would be too burdensome.

Yet, when the FBI came knocking in a Jan. 28 raid, federal agents left with 656 boxes (653 by one count), prompting a top Georgia election official to wonder about the gap in the number.

“That’s almost 100 boxes of evidence,” Janice Johnston, vice chair of the Georgia State Election Board, told The Daily Signal.

She referenced one county affidavit that only estimated “over 700 boxes” at the county elections hub. She said, “Even 50 [extra] boxes would be a lot of evidence.”

In a post on X, Johnston posed the questions, “WHERE ARE 100 BOXES OF ELECTION DOCUMENTS?!! … WHO HAS THE BOXES?!!”

A rough estimate does not excuse such a large numerical disparity in an affidavit or court filings, Johnston said.

The State Election Board has since made a records request to the Fulton County Board of Elections to provide information about materials delivered or removed from storage in the four weeks preceding the FBI raid.

“Fulton County is effectively the person of interest in this case,” Johnston said. “We are not assured that everything was available.”

The FBI seized materials from the 2020 election that included ballots, tabulator tapes, and ballot images from a recount, Georgia Public Broadcasting reported, citing court documents that supported the search warrant. About 370,000 ballot images are missing, Johnston noted.

After the raid, Fulton County sued the Justice Department, calling for a return of the documents. The lawsuit also asked the court to prevent the FBI from reviewing the documents.

Johnston called the lawsuit “over the top.”

“They have been fighting the State Elections Board over the same documents,” Johnston said.

The Daily Signal sought comment from Fulton County Board of Elections Chairwoman Sherri Allen and Elections Director Nadine Williams. A Fulton County spokesperson responded to the inquiry.

“Fulton County complied fully with the search warrant executed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on January 28, 2026, seeking records related to the 2020 Election,” Fulton County spokeswoman Jessica Corbitt told The Daily Signal in an email.

“Agents spent more than 8 hours at the Fulton County Elections Hub and Operations Center and had the opportunity to review all files related to the 2020 Election,” Corbitt continued. “Agents were made aware of all 2020 documents and selected the files that they removed from the premises. This is now a matter that is being handled by the courts.”

An FBI spokesperson declined to comment on this story.
