Kennedy names five new members of vaccine advisory panel

The new appointments come ahead of the panel's next meeting on Thursday and Friday in Atlanta, Georgia.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday announced five new members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention vaccine advisory panel, days ahead of its next meeting.

Kennedy fired all the panel's 17 former members earlier this year, accusing them of holding "persistent conflicts of interest" that made it "little more than a rubber stamp for any vaccine." He handpicked eight people to replace them.

The five new members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) include experts who have been critical of the COVID-19 vaccine, and it comes as the panel is set to vote on whether to soften or eliminate recommendations related to the vaccine, The Hill reported.

The five new members are infectious disease epidemiology professor Catherine Stein, pediatric cardiologist Kirk Milhoan, pharmacist Hillary Blackburn, obstetrician and gynecologist Evelyn Griffin and surgeon and transplant immunobiologist Raymond Pollack.

“ACIP safeguards the health of Americans by issuing objective, evidence-based vaccine recommendations,” Kennedy said in a statement. “Its new members bring diverse expertise that strengthens the committee and ensures it fulfills its mission with transparency, independence, and gold-standard science.”

A once-celebrated Black Lives Matter (BLM) activist who raised more than $1 million in donations for her Boston “nonprofit” is now preparing to plead guilty to federal fraud charges.

Monica Cannon-Grant stole the donations money and used it to fund her own lavish lifestyle.

When confronted about her crimes, Cannon-Grant lashed out with profanity.

Cannon-Grant, who was hailed as “Bostonian of the Year” by the Boston Globe Magazine in 2020.

However, things have taken a dramatic turn as the BLM leader now faces 27 counts alongside her late husband, Clark Grant.

Prosecutors accuse her of siphoning charity funds from her organization Violence in Boston Inc. to cover personal expenses.

Instead of using the money for “fighting racism,” Cannon-Grant spent the donor cash on treats for herself, including vacations, nail salon trips, rent, car payments, and restaurant bills.

When asked about the case, Cannon-Grant erupted in an expletive-laden tirade.

“Respectfully, F**k You!” she wrote in one email to a Daily Mail reporter.

“You wasn’t reaching out or interested in my side of the story when I caught this case 4 1/2 years ago, and you wasn’t reaching out when my deceased husband was murdered, so yeah, f**k you.”

Cannon-Grant later cursed out the Daily Mail in another email, but refused to answer questions.

Court filings now confirm that the activist intends to change her plea under Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, which signals an imminent guilty plea or no-contest plea.

A federal judge has scheduled trial proceedings for October 14.

From Boston Hero To Fraud Defendant

Cannon-Grant skyrocketed to prominence in 2020 after organizing one of Boston’s largest marches following George Floyd’s death and forging partnerships to provide free meals during the pandemic.

Media outlets and city leaders showered her with praise, branding her one of the state’s top social justice advocates.

But according to prosecutors, behind the scenes, she was siphoning off money from donors and pandemic relief funds.

An investigation revealed that Cannon-Grant was:

• Paying herself $2,788 a week from the charity starting in late 2020, despite publicly claiming she drew no salary.

• Laundering a $10,400 grant — earmarked to feed children — through a church to pay her back rent.

• Using public and private grants to cover living expenses, even as her nonprofit publicly claimed to be feeding families.

According to evidence presented by investigators, Cannon-Grant texted her husband in March 2021:

“Unemployment caught my ass.

President Donald Trump on Monday said that he would support designating the antifa movement a terrorist organization in the wake of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk’s assassination last week.

In response to a question in a White House news conference, Trump was asked about the assassination and whether he would designate antifa as a domestic terrorist organization.

“It’s something I would do, yeah, if I have support from the people back here,” Trump said, referring to administration officials standing behind him, including Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“I would do that 100 percent,” he said, adding that “antifa is terrible.”

“There are some other groups” who are “pretty radical groups, and they got away with murder,” Trump said. He did not provide any specific details about those organizations.

The president said he would also bring RICO, or Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, charges against “some of the people you have been reading about that have been putting up millions and millions of dollars for agitation.”

Antifa supporters generally hold extreme political views, including communist or anarchist beliefs. Supporters, who are usually organized through decentralized cells, often favor “direct action” rather than electoral politics or policy reform.

A commonly used tactic involves participants wearing black clothing and masks during protests to shield their identifying features. In many cases, antifa participants engage in violence during demonstrations, such as during the unrest that occurred throughout the summer of 2020 in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

The suspect in Kirk’s assassination, Tyler Robinson, is believed to have held leftist viewpoints, say FBI Director Kash Patel and Utah Gov. Spencer Cox. He also engraved anti-fascist messages on bullets that were recovered by officials.

Officials have not said whether Robinson was in communication or was associated with any particular antifa groups. The FBI is currently scrutinizing online accounts that are alleged to have shown awareness of Kirk’s assassination before the incident unfolded, a source familiar with the FBI’s investigation confirmed to The Epoch Times on Monday.

Screenshots highlighted by the Washington Free Beacon show several X accounts mentioning the date of Kirk’s assassination, which occurred Sept. 10, and ominous messages. The Epoch Times has not independently examined the screenshots and accounts that were singled out by the Free Beacon.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino told Fox News that the bureau is currently investigating whether Robinson had other accomplices. So far, no other individuals have been charged in the case.

Earlier Monday, both White House adviser Stephen Miller and Vice President JD Vance said that the administration is moving to investigate networks that organized riots, street violence, and other activities in the United States. At one point, Miller used the term “domestic terror movement” to describe such actors.

It’s not clear if Robinson has an attorney. His court arraignment date has been set for Tuesday.

Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while he was holding a debate forum at Utah Valley University with his Turning Point USA organization. The suspect was captured around 33 hours later, the FBI has said.

Removing a camera from a crime scene is tantamount to destroying evidence. While I do hope the authorities have the camera and the data now, there's now a chain of custody issue and a possibility that the data was altered.

I can imagine some equipment grip panicked and grabbed the expensive gear before it got impounded or stolen, but I can also imagine someone from a trained team seizing and destroying the evidence against them.

The camera removal was very bad.
