There is zero evidence of anyone, let alone a Trump supporter, carrying a rifle especially an AR-15 on Jan 6.

If what Hutchinson said is true, police on the ground including Secret Service are to blame. They allowed the president to speak in a public venue filled with hundreds or thousands of people without adequate protection.

FedEx Worker Fatally Shot Nonprofit Founder as He Slept Beside Wife, Cops Say

As a FedEx employee headed to his shift at Dulles International Airport on Tuesday, he was stopped by Virginia airport police. It was at that point he learned officers were arresting him over the death of 32-year-old Gret Glyer, a nonprofit CEO and father of two young children who had been found shot in his bed last week.

The package worker, a 33-year-old man from Arlington named Joshua Danehower, reacted calmly and was taken into custody without incident, authorities with the City of Fairfax said Wednesday.

It appears as though Danehower acted alone, Captain Jeff Hunt, the commander of the City of Fairfax Police Department’s criminal investigations division, said at a press conference announcing the arrest. Danehower has been charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime.

Early Friday morning, patrol officers responded to an emergency call reporting that someone had been shot inside Glyer’s Fairfax home. Inside, officers found Glyer, the founder of the fundraising platform DonorSee, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. A preliminary investigation revealed that his wife, Heather, had been asleep beside him at the time of the shooting.

“Gret was my best friend and an incredible husband and father,” Heather, who married Glyer in 2018, said in a statement on Wednesday. “He had an amazing heart for helping the people who need it most, and I know that legacy will live on.”

There has not been a reported homicide in Fairfax, a city of more than 20,000 people, since 2008, according to WTOC.

Danehower was identified by Fairfax authorities as a potential suspect in Glyer’s killing after “someone came forward” with a tip, Hunt said.

Investigators have not yet established a motive in Glyer’s death. It appeared as though Danehower was “an acquaintance of the family,” according to the police captain, who added that authorities were looking into a potential connection the men may have had through their church.

To which church Glyer belonged is unclear, but a friend on Facebook announced that his memorial service would be held at The Falls Church Anglican on Friday.

Glyer founded DonorSee in 2016, according to the company’s website, in order to create a “giving platform” allowing contributions to be handed over “directly to people in need,” with a particular focus on alleviating poverty and famine in Africa. The company, which employs roughly 15 people, also provides donors with video updates showing how their funds are being used.

On a DonorSee page set up to help Glyer’s family, a statement was posted grieving his loss as “a courageous and kind leader, who treated everyone like family… he always had a positive attitude that encouraged you to push a little harder, do a little more, and smile a little bigger.”

The interim chief of the platform, Owen O’Doherty, told The Washington Post in a Wednesday interview that he did not not know Danehower.

According to his LinkedIn profile and online obituary, Glyer had moved in 2013 to become a teacher at a Bible school in Malawi, an East African nation, after several years spent working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. While there, he had founded a nonprofit called Housing for Orphans and Widows in Malawi, which worked to construct homes in rural areas.

DonorSee immediately rallied against the ban, creating a Change.org petition to be delivered to President Donald Trump (it has yet to reach 500 signatures).

Suspected drug plane lands in southern Belize

SUNDAY WOOD, Toledo District, Mon. June 27, 2022

In the wee hours of Sunday, June 26, a suspected drug plane landed in the southern part of Belize, in Sunday Wood, Toledo, which is situated about 3.4 kilometers from Conejo village near the Sarstoon Temash National Park, and has been cleared several times by villagers of that neighboring country.

Information is sparse at the moment; however, an initial report is indicating that the suspected narco-jet landed in the country sometime around 2:00 a.m. and two persons from a nearby village are believed to have assisted the narco-traffickers, who are currently on the run and are being sought by police.

The suspected narco-jet had initially been heard and observed circling Bladen village, but due to police presence, the jet diverted and landed on a farm in Sunday Wood.

Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams has confirmed to local media that the narco jet landed in the southern part of Belize.

The COMPOL has indicated that he will be sharing more information with local media tomorrow, Tuesday, June 28.

Prince Charles Will No Longer Take Bags Of Cash From Gulf Sheikhs

Hamad bin Jassim said his government "maybe" funded the al Qaeda spin-off al Nusra Front in Syria.

Prince Charles years ago stopped accepting bags full of cash from Gulf royalty and won't do it again, a senior royal source told BBC on Wednesday.

The odd assurance follows an explosive report by The Times of London that the former prime minister of Qatar gave Charles suitcases and shopping bags filled with cash on three occasions between 2011 and 2015.

The money came from billionaire Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, whose term as Qatar's prime minister—2007 to 2013—partially overlapped with the time in which the gifts were made.

In 2017, Hamad bin Jassim said his government "maybe" funded the al Qaeda spin-off al Nusra Front in Syria. British media have called him "the man who bought London," as he owns or has a stake in many of the city's most prestigious addresses and businesses.

The senior royal source said the sheikh's gift to the Prince of Wales "was passed immediately to his charity and it was his charity who decided to accept" the stacks of cash said to be worth over $3 million. The transfers took place in private meetings at Clarence House, the prince's official residence. The money was variously handed over in a suitcase, duffel bag or shopping bags from upscale London department store Fortnum & Mason.

“Everyone felt very uncomfortable about the situation,” a former advisor to Charles told The Times. "[The] only thing we could do was to count the money and make a mutual record of what we’d done. And then call the bank.”

The chairman of the Prince of Wales Charitable Fund, Sir Ian Cheshire, told BBC that today's money laundering regulations further make it unlikely that such a cash donation would be accepted again.

As the New York Post reports, the assurance that the money promptly went to the prince's charity was insufficient to prevent concerned ripples throughout the UK:

The revelation fueled talk of a “cash-for-access culture” surrounding Prince Charles — coming just months after his longtime aide, Michael Fawcett, was bounced from the charity amid allegations he used his position to help a Saudi billionaire receive a “golden visa” and high royal honors.

In that episode, wealthy Saudi Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz paid tens of thousands of dollars to receive a visa that could enable him to achieve UK citizenship, and to be granted an honorary title that has a bit of an 80's Keanu Reeves ring to it: Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Germany’s ‘Green’ Energy Disaster Is A Warning To The United States

As gas hit historic highs, leftists keep arguing it’s a perfect time to transition to a “clean energy” economy. “Now is the moment to double-down, triple-down, and quadruple-down on clean energy,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted on Friday, linking to a CNN piece that contends “wind and solar” have been “bailing out” Texas during its recent heat wave.

In the piece we learn that wind, solar, and nuclear have “powered about 38% of the state’s power in 2021, rivaling natural gas at 42%.” That’s quite the sleight of hand; tantamount to bragging about how Babe Ruth (60), Lou Gehrig (47), and Joe Dugan (2) combined for 109 home runs in 1927. True, but deceptive.

Subsidized solar power generates less than 2 percent of Texas’ energy during the year. Nuclear power generates around 10 percent and wind nearly 20. Coal accounts for nearly 15 percent and natural gas for more than 52 percent of electricity generation. It would be far more accurate to say that coal, nuclear, and gas are bailing out Texas.

No nation has anything approaching a clean energy economy. And those that have promised to build one are all struggling.

More than a decade ago, after a major earthquake caused the Fukushima nuclear disaster, German chancellor Angela Merkel announced her nation would close down all its nuclear power plants, at the same time quadrupling down on the decarbonization of its economy—energiewende. Once there were 17 reactors in Germany. Now there are only three remaining, all of which are scheduled to go offline by the end of the year.

The move to “clean energy”—without nuclear—has accomplished three things:

1. It has prompted Germany, and the rest of the EU, to begin relying more heavily on Russian natural gas as it “transitioned.” Putin, who has begun demanding EU nations pay for their energy in roubles, is now able to undercut the European economy at will.

2. It has created the highest global electricity prices per household in the world. In 2019, German households were paying 34 cents per kilowatt-hour compared to 13 cents in the United States. The price of energy has doubled since 2000, when Germany first mandated decarbonization, an effort that forced energy companies to purchase long-term inefficient renewables at high, fabricated prices.

3. It has meant the burning of coal. Even before Russia began cutting off supply, Germany was more reliant on coal than the United States. This week, Germany’s Economy Minister Robert Habeck, who earlier this year rejected a European Union label of nuclear energy as “green,” announced that in an effort to avoid future gas shortages—because cars can’t run on wind—the government would incentivize the use of more coal-fired power plants.

The “transition” to green that Germany began 30 years ago has not worked. In 2000, Germany obtained 84 percent of its energy from fossil fuels. By 2019, it was 78 percent. As Vaclav Smil pointed out a couple of years ago, at this rate, Germany would still be deriving 70 percent of its energy from fossil fuels by the year 2050. With a move back to coal in 2022, it will surely be even later, if ever.

Setting aside the high cost of transitioning to renewable energy, and the failure of wind turbines and solar panels to produce energy in the winter, the intermittency problem is not going to be overcome in any season. To pull back on the only reliable “clean energy” source that can mitigate this problem has been suicidal.

Unlike Germany, we don’t even have to worry about pipelines from Russia; we are situated on a continent with abundant energy sources. Germany’s problems are self-inflicted. Ours will be, as well, if we follow its lead.

According to a report by the National Association of Scholars, Confucius Institutes, the controversial Beijing-backed language and cultural learning centres that were mostly closed across the US after being designated as foreign missions by the State Department, are rebranding and reopening.

According to the report, of the 118 Confucius Institutes that once existed in the United States, 104 were closed as of June 21 and four are in the process of closing, according to VOA.

Of these, “at least 28 have replaced their Confucius Institute with a similar programme, and at least 58 have maintained close relationships with their former Confucius Institute partner,” according to the report.

Perry Link, a professor of Chinese language studies at the University of California, Riverside, was taken aback by the June 21 report, which updates a March 2018 report.

Link told VOA Mandarin that he was initially struck by “how many Confucius Institutes have been shut. I didn’t expect the rate of closures to be so high. Second, they still exist in another way with another name. I think this is expected. I just didn’t expect it to happen so soon.”

In October 2021, the Chinese state-owned Global Times quoted a spokesperson for the Chinese embassy in Germany as saying, “China firmly opposes the politicisation of academic and cultural exchange activities.”

Critics saw the institutes as a tool to monitor and interfere with campus speeches and activities, as well as an overseas propaganda machine for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). For example, the Confucius Institute objected to North Carolina State University’s plan to invite the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader, to speak on campus in 2009.
