Macomb County man says he was targeted with explosives due to his politics

A Michigan homeowner says he was targeted in a middle of the night bomb attack which left a hole in his living room likely because he is a well-known Trump supporter. He also has multiple pro-Trump signs and banners on his front yard. Police and media have interviewed the St. Clair Shores resident, just outside of Detroit, after the bombing was caught on tape. William Barr made his name serving as attorney general for two presidents, George H. W. Bush and Donald J. Trump. But he made his fortune out of office, collecting more than $50 million in compensation as an executive and director for some of America’s largest companies.

Today Barr, who did not comment for this story, has an estimated net worth of $40 million, after accounting for taxes, personal spending and modest investment returns. That figure is more precise than what’s on Barr’s public financial disclosure report, a document that deals only in broad ranges and shows assets worth somewhere between $24 million and $74 million.

Retiring did not mean Barr was done working. The year after he left Verizon, he joined the boards of two publicly traded companies, Dominion Resources and Time Warner. From 2009 to 2018, Dominion paid Barr $1.2 million in cash and granted him another $1.1 million in stock awards, according to SEC filings.

Barr also served on the board of Och-Ziff Capital Management, joining in 2016, the same year a firm subsidiary pled guilty to conspiring to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Och-Ziff agreed to pay $412 million in penalties. It also paid Barr $190,000 in cash and $530,000 in stock awards from 2016 to 2018. The attorney general no longer serves on the boards of Och-Ziff, Dominion Resources or Time Warner.

In 2017, Barr signed on to work with the law firm Kirkland & Ellis, which has an unusual connection to the Trump administration. The firm pays an estimated $8.4 million in annual rent to lease part of a San Francisco skyscraper in which President Trump owns a 30% stake. While at Kirkland, Barr represented machine-maker Caterpillar. Two weeks after federal agents raided the manufacturer’s offices, the company’s CEO announced he was bringing on Barr “to take a fresh look at Caterpillar’s disputes with the government.” A spokesperson for Caterpillar said the company was “very pleased” with Barr’s work. Attorney Sidney Powell went on with Greg Kelly Monday night on Newsmax TV.

This was after US District Court Judge Timothy Batton through out her voter fraud case in Georgia earlier in the day.

Sidney Powell told Kelly she will proceed to immediately with an emergency appeal and expects to get relief from the Supreme Court.

Orange County Sheriff: We’re Not Enforcing ‘Unfair’ and Unconstitutional COVID Rules

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Orange County, CA Sheriff Don Barnes said that his office will not enforce California’s newest coronavirus restrictions because the restrictions aren’t fair to law enforcement or county residents and don’t pass constitutional muster. Barnes also argued that it’s contradictory to restrict the ability of law enforcement to do its job, but then demand they “arrest lawful residents of the county who are just trying to make ends meet, and are doing so by following the rules.”

Barnes said, “It’s been a long year for everybody. We know that. It’s been very impactful upon all of the businesses and residents of Orange County and California. But I just don’t think that it’s something that falls in line with a law enforcement priority. We have many other responsibilities that we’re dealing with, many responsibilities really aren’t ours that we’re dealing with, homelessness, mental illness, substance use disorder. And to lay on this one more additional expectation, I think is not only fair — or unfair to law enforcement, to the residents of Orange County, but it’s just unfair overall. I don’t think it stands the constitutional test.”

He added, “Every one of the businesses that are operating have met the expectations of the state. … It’s like the goalposts keep moving ten yards back, week by week.”

Barnes further stated, “When you look at this year for law enforcement, after Minneapolis, the California legislature made it its mission to defund the police, to change the rules, to come out with new legislation that would restrict the way we can do our job. So, on one hand, you’re saying, we want you to stop doing things that would result in actions against the community, and on the other hand, we’re saying, but not this time, the rules are different. Go out and arrest people. And I’m not sure that we ever want to be in a position where law enforcement [operates] with that mission in mind to go out and arrest lawful residents of the county who are just trying to make ends meet, and are doing so by following the rules.”
