Social media sites will be slapped with fines if they do not remove racist abuse online, UK prime minister pledges
In an attempt to combat racist attacks online, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that social media sites will be fined 10% of their global revenue if they fail to remove abusive posts.
Johnson announced the move on Wednesday when addressing parliament, calling on major social media sites to do more to remove racist abuse or face sanctions.
Last night I met representatives of Facebook, of Twitter, of TikTok, of Snapchat, of Instagram and I made it absolutely clear to them that we will legislate to address this problem in the Online Harms Bill and unless they get hate and racism off their platforms, they will face fines amounting to 10% of their global revenues.
The decision comes following a slew of racist attacks on English footballers Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford after the three players missed penalties resulting in their country’s loss in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday. Johnson fervently condemned the subsequent racism, instead praising the England team as national “heroes.”
In the wake of the abuse, Facebook and Twitter took a proactive stance and removed racist tweets, pledging that they would continue to do so. Twitter released a statement that read: “We have swiftly removed over 1,000 Tweets and permanently suspended a number of accounts for violating our rules – the vast majority of which we detected ourselves proactively using technology.”
Instagram, on the other hand, came under fire for not doing enough to remove derogatory comments by people who posted monkey emojis under players’ posts and other racial slurs.
The Online Harms Bill was proposed by Johnson’s predecessor, Theresa May. The legislation aims to hold social media sites accountable for controlling content, or face being fined £18 million ($25 million) or 10% of their global turnover.
Twitter amassed revenue of $3.7 billion in 2020. Instagram made $20 billion from advertisements alone, while its parent company, Facebook, generated a whopping $86 billion. Relatively new Chinese social media site, TikTok, made revenue of $34.3 billion.

Amazon paid an undisclosed amount to Facebook in a deal that acquired more than a dozen satellite internet experts from the social media giant, according to The Information.
The move gives Amazon's $10 billion Project Kuiper, the amount the firm has vowed to spend, a boost in developing low Earth orbit satellites that will deliver high-speed internet globally.
Facebook began its own internet satellite venture in 2015 and planned to launch its first satellite , dubbed Athena, in 2019. However, Wednesday's news reveals the Facebook team has been working for Amazon since April and includes physicists and engineers who have experience working on aeronautical and wireless systems, according to The Information.
Facebook spokesperson told DailyMail.com: 'We believe satellite technology will enable the next generation of broadband infrastructure, and as part of our connectivity efforts, we've built an incredible team around designing and testing new ways to advance satellite connectivity using optical communications and radio frequency systems and solutions. Not only does the deal beef up Amazon's team of 500 people, but it puts Project Kuiper closer to launching its first satellites and finally competing with SpaceX's Starlink. Amazon first announced plans for Kuiper Systems in 2018 and obtained approval from the Federal Communications (FCC) in July 2020 to build the constellation of 3,236 satellites. The 3,236 satellites would have the ability to serve about 95 percent of the world's population and successfully position Amazon as a global ISP provider.
Now with the new additions from Facebook, Project Kuiper may soon get off the ground. Facebook was set to launch Athena in March 2020, which it also hoped would compete with SpaceX. The social media firm even filed its internet satellite venture with the FCC. The filings were made under the name of a shell company, PointView Tech, that is owned by Facebook, according to Business Insider. However, all the employees focused on helping Facebook reach for the stars moved to Amazon's Los Angeles office.
The workers include physicists as well as optical, prototyping, mechanical and software engineers who had previously worked on aeronautical systems and wireless networks, according to their LinkedIn pages. Although Amazon is heading down the right path, it will have to put in some extra work if it is to catch up with Elon Musk's SpaceX, which has launched more than 1,730 Starlink satellites overall. The Starlink constellation is also providing broadband services to more than 69,000 users in 12 countries worldwide

FCC Votes to Finalize Program to Replace Huawei Equipment in US Networks
WASHINGTON—The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted unanimously on Tuesday to finalize a $1.9 billion program to reimburse mostly rural U.S. carriers for removing equipment from telecommunications networks from Chinese companies deemed national security threats like Huawei and ZTE Corp.
Last year, the FCC designated Huawei and ZTE as national security threats to communications networks—a declaration that barred U.S. firms from tapping an $8.3 billion government fund to purchase equipment from the companies. The FCC in December adopted rules requiring carriers with ZTE or Huawei equipment to “rip and replace” that equipment.
“There is a serious risk that this equipment may be manipulated, disrupted, or controlled by foreign actors,” Acting FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said. “We will evaluate network after network, base station after base station, and router after router until we have rooted out our equipment that could undermine national security. It’s a daunting task.”
The issue is a big one for rural carriers that face high costs and difficulty finding workers to remove and replace equipment.
The FCC’s final order expands the companies eligible for reimbursement from those with 2 million or fewer customers to those with 10 million or fewer customers.
The FCC in September 2020 estimated it would cost $1.837 billion to remove and replace Huawei and ZTE equipment from networks.

Senior Congressional staffers
Wonder if they brought some Kung Flu back with them?
Staffers for who I wonder?
A bipartisan group of senior congressional staff tour the Great Wall of China with Paul Haenle (far right) and Douglas Farrar (second from right, bottom row).
Congressional Trip to China
In November, a bipartisan group of seventeen senior congressional staff traveled to the Carnegie–Tsinghua Center, in partnership with the Aspen Institute. Over the course of a week, they spoke with Chinese academics and government officials and met with U.S. business leaders and journalists working in Beijing. The delegation probed challenges and opportunities during a time of increasing tensions. Trade, technology, and security dominated the conversations, which were expertly facilitated by Maurice R. Greenberg Chair Paul Haenle, the center’s director. One participant remarked, “This was the most informative and enriching experience I have had in ten years working on foreign policy in Washington.”

The Fed Has Approved 3,576 Bank Mergers in 15-1/2 Years; Denied Zero. One Business Day after President Biden’s Executive Order Warns Against Bank Concentration, the Fed Approves Another Bank Merger.
On Monday, the Federal Reserve (which includes no one elected to office by the American people) thumbed its nose at President Joe Biden, the man who received more than 81 million votes in the 2020 Presidential election, representing a 51.3 percent mandate from the American people who vote. On Friday, July 9, President Biden released a sweeping Executive Order warning federal agencies against actions that create “excessive market concentration” with specific mention of bank merger activity. One business day later, the Federal Reserve…wait for it…approved another bank merger. The Federal Reserve’s actions from January 1, 2006 through the latest data available on June 30, 2020, define the Fed as the quintessential “excessive market concentrator.” According to the Fed’s own data, it has approved 3,576 bank mergers, while denying zero merger applications, since January 1, 2006. (See data here and here.)
At the end of 1999, the year that President Bill Clinton’s Wall Street-friendly administration repealed the 66-year old Glass-Steagall Act – ushering in an era where Wall Street’s trading casinos could buy federally-insured banks – the number of federally-insured banks and savings institutions has collapsed from a total of 10,220 to 4,978 as of March 31, 2021 according to data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. That’s a decline of 51 percent in banking competition. But the decline in the number of overall banks fails to capture the gargantuan concentration of assets at just four banking behemoths: JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Citibank. According to the March 31, 2021 report from the Federal Reserve, just four banks own $9 trillion in assets of the total $22.56 trillion in assets owned by all 4,978 federally-insured banks and savings associations in the country. To put it more poignantly, those four banks represent just 0.08 percent of all the banks in the country while controlling 40 percent of the assets.
And not to put too fine a point on it, but the largest bank of all, JPMorgan Chase – which has racked up an unprecedented five felony counts from the U.S. Department of Justice in the last seven years for money laundering and rigging markets – owns $3.2 trillion of those assets while serving as custodian of a mind-numbing $29 trillion of other people’s assets. One doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to quickly grasp that this is the banking model from hell supervised by a seriously captured regulator – the Fed. In short, the Fed has effectively seized control of the nation’s economic future, transferring wealth from the farms, small businesses and factory floors of America to the trading floors on Wall Street, forcing the working class, in order to survive, to go deeper and deeper into debt on credit cards – which are conveniently owned by these same banks.
Today and tomorrow, the House Financial Services Committee and Senate Banking Committee will have their quaint semi-annual chats with the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell. It’s time for these trivial, polite chats to end and serious Congressional reform of the Fed to begin – starting with abruptly stripping the Fed of its power to approve bank mergers and supervise the Frankenbanks that it has created.
https://wallstreetonparade.com/2021/07/the-fed-has-approved-3576-bank-mergers-in-15-1-2-years-denied-zero-one-business-day-after-president-bidens-executive-order-warns-against-bank-concentration-the-fed-approves-another-bank-m/

Is the CIA Preparing a False Flag Operation from Colombia?
July 2, 2021
Colombia’s role in the already permanent regime change operation against Venezuela is broad and eloquent. Some recent events in that country may be worthy of attention and analysis, however, all that would go through a series of questions that help to clarify what is behind these events and where they are headed.
Perhaps the most curious event is the visit of the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States, William J. Burns, to that country to participate in a “sensitive” security mission, as part of the cooperation between both countries. The visit follows a telephone conversation between U.S. President Joe Biden and his Colombian counterpart Iván Duque.
Colombia’s ambassador in Washington, Francisco Santos, declined to give further details about Burns’ visit to Bogota. When questioned about the mission, Santos said, “I prefer not to tell you that it is a delicate mission, an important intelligence mission that we managed to coordinate.”
He added that the visit of the US official to Colombia was made by a contact, after having already had three meetings with the agency and that in those meetings they have told them where they are going and what is happening, so they consider his visit as “very important”.

Oracle unit partners with Everest to bring blockchain to banks worldwide
Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd, a unit of Oracle Corp, has teamed up with financial technology provider Everest to bring blockchain to banks worldwide to enhance their product offerings, Everest Chief Executive and co-founder Bob Reid said. Oracle Financial’s software is used in retail and corporate banking as well as the insurance sector. Everest, whose blockchain technology enables a wide range of financial services, said it recently worked with the Asian Development Bank on the Central Bank of Samoa’s regulatory compliance platform. Everest is also a licensed custodian of cryptocurrencies.
In an interview on Tuesday, Reid told Reuters the collaboration means Oracle’s bank clients will be able to verify a customer’s credentials and transfer them to the blockchain platform in different countries. Everest is registered and based in Malta. Blockchain, a digital ledger of transactions, gained prominence over the last 10 years as the technology that underpinned the virtual currency bitcoin. “Oracle does some blockchain work in their cloud, which is not related to the core banking and financial platform that they sell to banks,” Reid said. “We’re bringing blockchain for identity and account creation to Oracle.” Oracle, the parent company, launched a blockchain platform cloud service in 2018.
Its financial software unit already provides a wide array of anti-money laundering capabilities, but Everest’s blockchain-based identity and biometric verification services should enhance Oracle’s banking software, Everest’s top official said. Those two services will be integrated into one product, Reid said, and should be completed by the fourth quarter. The collaboration enables financial institutions to “remotely onboard customers across multiple jurisdictions, especially during the ongoing pandemic,” said John Edison, vice president and head of Financial Crime and Compliance Management Products at Oracle, in a statement.
Through the joint service, banks can also access cryptocurrencies, cross-border and decentralized finance or DeFi tools, Reid said. DeFi projects facilitate crypto-denominated lending outside traditional banking. Global banks’ adoption of blockchain has a come a long way since a decade ago, market participants said. “Eighteen months ago banks won’t take a call from anybody from crypto: they were scared, they were worried about compliance,” Reid said.

Once it gets about 10-15% adoption rate...and that is every last bit of it....assets, equity, derivatives (this harder), currency etc...basically everything thing that belongs on paper it's gonna be difficult to extract any part of a system from it.
We can't habs just a gold-backed system (tried this before)..it's gotta be a basket of things ala oil, precious, to start off with.
I noes all about the oil story but you habs to have something tradeable and accepted to start with.
But back to the original point..once it gets beyond that 15% adoption rate it's gonna be a tough sell to stop it.
The reason it can't be just gold is every Gov't and individual that has amassed a large amount(s) is not always on the side of the people-see China.

muh opinion is that if they iron out the transaction issues (still a big deterrent as not enough per second to replace existing system and pretty sure they already have that ready to go since that is one big roadblock as it currently functions nao) then we are not gonna have much choice at all whether we want it.
The big one is gonna be tokenizing the derivative piles of shit along with the equity markets.
That is still a huge challenge (as presently constructed)-they always have the answers to the presented problems when they provide the solution.

Texas Senate passes voting bill despite Democrats fleeing the state
The Texas state Senate approved a sweeping election reform bill Tuesday night, one day after dozens of House Democrats fled the state to prevent the chamber from taking up the legislation.
The state Senate approved the bill on an 18-4 party-line vote. Nine Senate Democrats had joined 51 of their House colleagues in hightailing it to Washington, DC, though this was not enough to deny the upper chamber a quorum.
However, the legislation is now stalled due to the absence of a quorum in the House.
Republicans say the measures in the bill — which include ending drive-thru and 24-hour polling places, banning ballot drop boxes, and empowering partisan poll watchers — are designed to ensure the integrity of the vote by preventing voter fraud. Democrats say they make it harder for poor people and minorities to cast ballots.
Most of the Democratic legislators flew to Washington on two chartered planes Monday, defying threats by Republican Gov. Greg Abbott to have them arrested and forced into the legislative chamber for this month’s special session. Abbott has vowed to continue to call special sessions until next year’s elections, if necessary, until the election reform bill is passed.
Earlier Tuesday, the Texas House voted 76-4 to direct its sergeant-at-arms to send for all absentee members by “warrant of arrest if necessary.” After the vote, the chamber doors were locked. Four House Democrats who did not go to Washington were among the lawmakers still inside, while the voting mechanisms on the desks of those absent were locked.
State Rep. Eddie Morales, one of the four Democrats who remained, told reporters it was unlikely authorities dispatched to track down any absent lawmakers would travel outside the state to do so.
“I was told they will go to your home back in your district, they will go to your place of work, they will go to your apartment in Austin or wherever you live close by when you’re in session,” he said. “And also family and friends that they may know of.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken welcomes UN probe of ‘racism’ in US
The United Nations — whose World Health Organization arm was just panned for its probe of the COVID-19 pandemic’s origins confined to guidelines set by the Chinese Communist Party — has been formally invited by the Biden administration to investigate “the scourge of racism, racial discrimination, and xenophobia” in the US, according to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“As the President has repeatedly made clear, great nations such as ours do not hide from our shortcomings; they acknowledge them openly and strive to improve with transparency,” said Blinken in a statement released Tuesday.
“It is in this context that the United States intends to issue a formal, standing invitation to all UN experts who report and advise on thematic human rights issues,” he continued. “As a first step, we have reached out to offer an official visit by the UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism and the UN Special Rapporteur on minority issues.”

Graphene nanotech neural implant company inbrain Neuroelectronics receives 14.35 million investment
,30 March 2021
inbrain Neuroelectronics, a spin-off Graphene Flagship partners the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) and ICREA, Spain, has received a ?14.35 million Series A investment, one of the biggest rounds in the Spanish MedTech industry. The investment will allow inbrain to bring their novel neurotechnology to humans for the first time.
inbrain Neuroelectronics was established in 2019, at the intersection between MedTech, DeepTech and Digital Health, with a mission to decode brain signals to develop medical solutions for patients with epilepsy, Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders. The company designs small implantable brain intelligent systems - built around an innovative nanoscale graphene electrode - with the ability to interpret brain signals with unprecedented high fidelity, producing a therapeutic response adapted to the clinical condition of each patient.
Disruptive technology based on graphene
Existing brain interfaces are based on metals such as platinum and iridium, which impose significant restrictions in terms of miniaturisation and signal resolution, and therefore cause considerable side effects. For this reason, there is a 50% rejection rate in candidate patients. inbrain Neuroelectronics uses a disruptive technology based on graphene which will overcome the current limitations of metal-based neural interfaces.
According to a 2010 study commissioned by the European Brain Council, the cost of brain disorders in Europe alone is approximately ?800 billion per year, with more than one-third of the population affected. Around 30% of patients with a neuronal disease are resistant to pharmacological treatment and do not have an effective therapy. The high incidence of brain-related diseases worldwide, and their huge social cost, call for greater investments in basic research in this field, with the aim of developing new and more efficient therapeutic and diagnostic tools.
In June last year, inbrain received a first-seed investment from a syndicate of investors led by Asabys Partners (through Sabadell-Asabys Health Innovation Investment) and Alta Life Sciences, including the Institut Catal de Finances (ICF), Finaves (IESE Business School) and BStartUp. The most recent investment was co-led by Asabys Partners and Alta Life Sciences, and joined by Vsquared Ventures, a DeepTech-focused early-stage venture capitalist based in Munich; TruVenturo GmbH, Germany's most successful tech and life science company builders; and CDTI, at the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Cinzia Spinato, Graphene Flagship Business Developer for Biomedical Applications, said: "inbrain is leading the way in the field of graphene-based implantable brain devices, and I hope that this success will raise the interest of new stakeholders and corporates towards the opportunities graphene offers in the healthcare domain. I remember when inbrain was born, and it is impressive how they have grown so fast: transforming a laboratory technology into a product - an outstanding milestone. This investment will be fundamental to speed up the development of graphene-based medical devices, which will be tested on patients much earlier than everyone expected."
Technological transformation
inbrain Neuroelectronics is bringing a complete technological transformation to the treatment of neurological diseases. Its brain implantable intelligent systems are based on graphene electrodes, which allow miniaturisation to nanoscale fabrication, with the potential to reach single-neuron resolution. The extraordinary properties of graphene - which is light, biocompatible, flexible and extremely conductive - are harnessed in much smaller devices that are safer to implant and can be programmed, upgraded and recharged wirelessly.
Driven by artificial intelligence, the implant can learn from the brain of each patient and trigger adaptive responses to deliver personalised neurological therapy. In addition, the use of big data management will permit remote monitoring of the device and data processing.
The technology has already been validated in in vitro and in vivo, and biocompatibility and toxicity tests have been successful. Studies on large animals have been completed and the investment will bring the technology to human patients, in collaboration with key neurosurgical and neurological groups in Europe.

It's over for them because people will question everything done and be on the look out for leaders who are exceptional, 45 the first one to come along in a very long time, it will habben all over though, he's building a network to keep it going, most importantly they won't be able to twist the law to their advantage any moar, that's been the killer for us all, it's a process that will never end but it sure as hell is gonna start, can't wait

We’re entering the era of the “Internet of Bodies”: collecting our physical data via a range of devices that can be implanted, swallowed or worn.
The result is a huge amount of health-related data that could improve human wellbeing around the world, and prove crucial in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
" Asthe Internet of Bodiesspreads into every aspect of our existence, we are facing a range of new challenges. ""
"In recent years, researchers have been building artificial neurons and synapses with some success but without the flexibility needed for learning. However, this first-of-its-kind synthetic synapse mimics the plasticity of the brain, bringing science one step closer to human-like artificial intelligence."

Today is the day the World Economic Forum and their partners host a simulation of cyberattacks on supply chains and the power grid. The exercise is known as Cyber Polygon. These are the same folks who simulated an outbreak of a coronavirus resulting in a pandemic in October 2019.
