The Radical Left Democrat Party has gone absolutely INSANE in fighting the Forensic Audit of the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, right now taking place in the Great State of Arizona. They sent a team of over 100 lawyers to try and stop it because they know what the result of the Arizona Senate sponsored audit will be—and it won’t be good for the Dems. The audit is independently run, with no advantage to either side, but the Democrats don’t want to hear anything about it because they know that they lost Arizona, and other scam election States, in a LANDSLIDE.
They also know that the Arizona State Legislature approved virtually none of their many election requests, which is totally UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The people of Arizona are very angry, as are the people of our Country. If we can’t have free and fair elections, we don’t have a Country. The audit must continue. America deserves the TRUTH!

Inflation Expectations Hit Eight-Year High Amid Reopening Cheer
A bond-market gauge of U.S. inflation expectations soared to the highest level in almost eight years as oil rose and data painted a picture of a strengthening economic recovery from the pandemic.
The 10-year breakeven rate, a proxy for where investors see annual inflation rates over the next decade, approached 2.4% Tuesday -- a level not seen since April 2013. Meanwhile, Treasury yields rose across the curve, with the benchmark 10-year rate climbing around five basis points to 1.62%.
The moves, ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee’s policy decision Wednesday, came as reports showed soaring home prices and consumer confidence, and amid new U.S. guidance that inoculated people can socialize outdoors without masks. The market activity appeared to reflect a revival of the broader reflation trade -- which had recently been on pause as traders assessed the prospect of additional fiscal stimulus.

Senate Republicans are still seizing on the issue in the lead-up to the 2022 midterms.
Supreme Court expansion was one of the left’s most galvanizing ideas during the 2020 Democratic primary. But the idea is going nowhere with sitting Democratic senators. “I don’t think the American public is interested in having the Supreme Court expanded,” said Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.). Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), who represents a particularly valuable swing state, said “the more responsible thing to do is to keep it at nine justices.” And Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) said she opposes “adding seats that politicize the court.” That trio is facing reelection in 2022, making their opinions particularly important to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.). But as Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) formally pushes for high court expansion, resurfacing the popular progressive cause in response to the GOP’s relentless drive to fill court seats during the Trump years, it’s clear that few of Markey’s colleagues agree with him. While liberal measures on election reform, police bias and congressional ethics remain relatively popular with the 50-member Senate majority, expanding the Supreme Court is close to dead among the chamber’s Democrats. “This is in the category of things that couldn’t muster 50 votes and probably couldn’t muster 40 votes,” said Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii). “We have a historic opportunity to make change here and we should focus on those issues where we can get a majority.” Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) said adding seats is a topic that the media and Republicans like to talk about but one that’s got no traction in the Senate. “Somebody’s introduced a bill,” he said. “We’re focused on Covid and infrastructure.”
The idea of expanding the Supreme Court became a liberal cause celebré after Republicans confirmed three Supreme Court justices during former President Donald Trump's term. Markey’s proposal, introduced with Reps. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) and Mondaire Jones (D-N.Y.), would increase the number of justices to 13 from 9. The number of Supreme Court justices has changed seven times in U.S. history, ranging from five to 10, but has stayed at nine since the late 19th century. With a 6-3 conservative majority on the high court poised to influence rulings for a generation, progressives say that now is the time to act. They’re betting that pressure on Democratic lawmakers will increase as the court hands down more decisions that are unpopular with the party's base. “The momentum for this effort is going to grow. Especially if the court does drift dramatically, in a direction which is overturning progressive precedent after progressive precedent,” Markey insisted in an interview.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has said she has no plans to bring the high court expansion bill to the floor, and its prospects are equally dim in the Senate. But growing or otherwise reforming the Supreme Court nevertheless became a litmus test for the left during last year's Democratic presidential primaries. Even though Biden never supported the idea, several candidates said they’d be open to it, including now-Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.

i got suspicious of germ theory during ebola outbreak, when i was reading how people were constantly scrubbing hands til they were raw to get rid of 'germs' - suddenly occurred to me, "that's crazy." Any medical model that relies on constant washing is somehow wrong - cleanliness is one thing but that's overboard.
Recently, read that they did a study a few yrs ago showing that even wearing masks during surgery doesn't result in fewer infections. Why not?

Abstract
The use of surgical facemasks is ubiquitous in surgical practice. Facemasks have long been thought to confer protection to the patient from wound infection and contamination from the operating surgeon and other members of the surgical staff. More recently, protection of the theatre staff from patient-derived blood/bodily fluid splashes has also been offered as a reason for their continued use. In light of current NHS budget constraints and cost-cutting strategies, we examined the evidence base behind the use of surgical facemasks.
Examination of the literature revealed much of the published work on the matter to be quite dated and often studies had poorly elucidated methodologies. As a result, we recommend caution in extrapolating their findings to contemporary surgical practice. However, overall there is a lack of substantial evidence to support claims that facemasks protect either patient or surgeon from infectious contamination. More rigorous contemporary research is needed to make a definitive comment on the effectiveness of surgical facemasks.
Disposable surgical face masks for preventing surgical wound infection in clean surgery
We found very few studies and identified no new trials for this latest update. We analysed a total of 2106 participants from the three studies we found. All three studies showed that wearing a face mask during surgery neither increases nor decreases the number of wound infections occurring after surgery. We conclude that there is no clear evidence that wearing disposable face masks affects the likelihood of wound infections developing after surgery.

The understandably bitter Koch had just been defeated by David Dinkins and was bidding his farewell to politics. Four years later, even the Upper West Side had had enough and called the cops, in the form of Giuliani and his police chief, Bill Bratton.
Still, there was a hidden grain of truth in Koch’s famous crack: There is a vindictive element to Democrat electoral politics, especially in the 30 years since Hizzoner left Gracie Mansion. As the parties have polarized, a destructive element has entered our politics, and with malice aforethought. This will not end well.
There’s always been a certain amount of pendulum swing in the peculiar version of “democracy” known as our republican form of government. Everyone runs against the “other guy,” the party in power, the Swamp, and yet too often—as with Mark Twain’s famous crack about the weather—nobody really does anything about it.
For all the talk, the comfortable middle of Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush—drifting ever leftward, to be sure—was where the country seemed to want to be.
Civil War
But sometimes not. In the run-up to the Civil War, polarization over the issues of slavery and secession saw the death of one party (the Whigs), the birth of another (the Republicans), and the complete radicalization of a third (the Democrats, led in part by the spirit of the traitor and murderer Aaron Burr, who gained political advantage through Tammany Hall a decade after its founding).
The result was four years of the bloodiest armed conflict in American history. Peace was finally restored at Appomattox, but the causes still linger—in particular, the Democrats’ fondness for brute force.
Despite their loss in the War Between the States, the Democrats never gave up. Talk about the “resistance”—they fought the Reconstruction amendments tooth and nail, and gave birth to the Ku Klux Klan, which attacked not only blacks but Jews and Catholics as well.
So unyielding were they in their fanaticism that the election of 1876 wasn’t finally decided until the GOP agreed to the withdrawal of the remaining federal troops in the old Confederacy, thus instantly erasing black political progress and ushering in nearly a century of Jim Crow.
“The South will rise again!” became the rallying cry of what is, in effect, a criminal organization masquerading as a political party.
That never happened—not, at least, in terms of regional revolution. But the Democrats, who should have been disbanded and outlawed in 1865 after their armed insurrection against the lawfully constituted government of the United States, in fact, did rise again. A Maryland Democrat assassinated Abraham Lincoln, thus putting a Democrat, Andrew Johnson, into the White House.
As the Old South gradually became more populous and prosperous, the Democrats moved north, where their innate, Jeffersonian radicalism found fresh new soil. New England, which had led the fight against slavery, maintained its revolutionary inclinations as it shifted from rock-ribbed Republican to urban, immigrant Democrat, easy emotional prey for the anarcho-socialists.

Myanmar coup latest: US senators call for sanctions on energy group MOGE

3:15 a.m. The Biden administration should impose more sanctions on the Myanmar junta's sources of revenue, including state energy group Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE), U.S. senators say in a letter. The six senators calling for the additional sanctions urge Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Secretary of State Antony Blinken "to target or freeze all foreign currency revenues and foreign exchange reserves held in state accounts outside of Burma," according to a letter posted on the website of Republican Sen. Marco Rubio. "As a first step, sanctions should be placed on the Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE), an agency within the Myanmar government’s Ministry of Electricity and Energy which remains the largest source of foreign exchange for the Tatmadaw," the letter continues. Tatmadaw is another name for Myanmar's armed forces. MOGE is a partner of France's Total and U.S. oil major Chevron in Myanmar's huge Yadana offshore gas field. Both foreign companies remained invested in the project. "History shows that when the junta was previously in place in the 1990s, gas revenues from Total and Chevron/Unocal helped them to withstand international sanctions as their reserves dwindled," the senators argue in the letter. "This time, we believe that the Tatmadaw must be entirely prevented from accessing a steady stream of international resources." Besides Rubio, the senators signing the letter are Democrats Jeff Merkley, Dick Durbin, Cory Booker and Ed Markey, as well as Republican Susan Collins.

A prominent investor’s apparent suicide after his financial empire collapsed is being mourned as a Wall Street tragedy.
Shortly before 1 p.m. on Monday, police said, Charles de Vaulx entered the posh Midtown Manhattan tower at 717 Fifth Ave. that had long housed the offices of International Value Advisers, the investment firm he founded 14 years ago.
Minutes later, de Vaulx — who built IVA into a financial empire with $20 billion in assets at its peak before it abruptly liquidated last month — plummeted from the 10th floor, according to a building employee.
Police are investigating the death of the 59-year-old Moroccan-born financier, but no foul play is suspected. And de Vaulx has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
In piecing together de Vaulx’s passing, people close to the firm say it was the final, tragic act of a brilliant investor whose life had become inextricably linked to the fate of his firm.
“This is a Shakespearean tragedy on a lot of levels … ironically many of the stocks he owned have appreciated significantly in the past few months,” a source close to de Vaulx told The Post, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
“Charles was a complex man with a lot of hubris who felt he failed in his mission of value investing and lost his raison d’etre,” this person added.
A month earlier, IVA had liquidated after a turbulent year that included the abrupt departure of de Vaulx’s longtime business partner Chuck de Lardemelle — a respected money-manager in his own right.
Police surround the area where de Vaulx was found.
