Here we go again...Europe's problems brought to us (price-wise) so be prepared for this to stay that way until the system stops shipping it off at these record high prices-it got curtailed a bit when the Freeport Terminal got taken off-line but started right back up again...and they took out another one in Oklahoma not soon after the Freeport one had a restart estimation
US NatGas Hits 14-Year-High, EU Benchmarks Explode Higher
US natural gas futures surged to a new 14-year high this morning as European prices spiked on Russia’s move to shut a major pipeline (for "planned maintenance"), sparking increased fears that demand for American exports of the heating and power-plant fuel will soar when Freeport's LNG Terminal comes back online in October. Additionally, the next few months of the US NatGas curve are in contango with November 2022, December 2022, and January 2023 all traded above $10 this morning..(contango= futures prices are higher than spot prices as they expect it all to continue..habbens in Oil all the time and is the most susceptible to this habbening due to it's size-see cap#3) In Europe, benchmark gas futures rose as much as 20% to new record highs driving electricity prices to fresh records, topping EUR700/mWh for the first time ever. As Bloomberg reports, the key Nord Stream pipeline will stop for three days of maintenance on Aug. 31, again raising concerns that the conduit won’t restart as planned after the work.
“Whether the reasoning is true or not, the outcome drives a European gas market that tightens further, and one that is left reliant on demand curtailments to find itself in balance,” said Biraj Borkhataria, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets. “The market may disregard Gazprom’s comments and start to consider whether the pipeline may not return to service, or at the very least may be delayed for any given reason.” (they planned the service-what part of this is so difficult to understand?? but they use it to spike prices and say "oh it may NOT come back")

The last really good one I had was a black jack experience with aces on the deal (shoe) got another one so split that-end result was I had 5 hands going on one initial deal (the aces kept coming- and won all but one-two of them doubled down -so that was like the "moment" and they got pissed when I wanted to take a picture of it as I knew no one would believe it.

Housing Inventory August 22th Update: Growth has Slowed
Inventory is still increasing, but the inventory build has slowed over the last month. Still, inventory is increasing faster than in 2019 at this time of year. Here are the same week inventory changes for the last four years:
2022: +1.3K
2021: +9.4K
2020: -8.2K
2019: -5.6K
Inventory bottomed seasonally at the beginning of March 2022 and is now up 129% since then. More than double! Altos reports inventory is up 27.8% year-over-year and is now 26.1% above the peak last year. As of August 19th, inventory was at 551 thousand (7-day average), compared to 550 thousand the prior week. Inventory was up 0.2% from the previous week.
Inventory is still historically low. Compared to the same week in 2021, inventory is up 27.8% from 432 thousand, however compared to the same week in 2020 inventory is down 7.1% from 594 thousand. Compared to 3 years ago, inventory is down 42.6% from 960 thousand. Inventory change vs 2021, 2020 (milestone 3 above) and 2019 (milestone 4). The blue line is the year-over-year data, the red line is compared to two years ago, and dashed purple is compared to 2019.
Two years ago (in 2020) inventory was declining all year, so the two-year comparison will get easier all year. Based on the recent increases in inventory, my current estimate is inventory will be up compared to 2020 in September of this year, and it is possible inventory will be back to 2019 levels in the first half of 2023. However, if inventory growth stalls, then it might take much longer to reach normal inventory levels.
