Foreign agency. Antisemitism Envoy Jillian Segal a US tool for Zionists

Antisemitism envoy Jillian Segal is part of a network of ‘special envoys’ launched by key pro-Israel bodies and the US State Department.

Civil liberties and Palestinian supporters are calling for the sacking of the Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism, Jillian Segal, after her latest ‘Priorities’ report accused them of using ‘human rights’ to hide their antisemitism.

Segal’s Priorities ‘roadmap’ appears designed to increase the pressure on all levels of government as well as the forthcoming final report of the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion in December.

Segal is an active player in an international network coordinated by key pro-Israel Jewish bodies as well as the US State Department. Indeed, if it had not been for pressure from the US government, Segal might not have the job at all.

Global network of antisemitism envoys

Segal is one of 32 Special Envoys in North America, Europe, South America, Israel and Australia.

The position of the US Special Envoy to Combat and Monitor Antisemitism was established in 2004 when New Jersey Republican congressman Chris Smith, who has a history of advocating for Israel and a record of accusing organisations including UN bodies of rampant antisemitism, successfully pushed to pass legislation creating the position.

The State Department then lobbied allies to appoint Envoys.

Following the US lead, the European Union appointed an Envoy in 2015, followed by Canada, Greece, the Organization of American States (OAS) and the UK. Israel’s envoy is part of its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 2021 Smith, by then a strong Trump supporter, successfully pushed for an amendment which strengthened the position of US Special Envoy to the level of ambassador, who reports directly to the Secretary of State, is appointed by the President and crucially, can access foreign governments.

The ambassador’s mission is to promote US foreign policy by developing and implementing policies and projects to support action against antisemitism. The office uses the controversial International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition which directly links Jewish people with Zionism and the State of Israel, and conflates criticism of Israel with antisemitism.

Current US Antisemitism Ambassador is far right winger Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun who has boasted about influencing governments and recently described his office as supporting Trump’s policies by having 250,000 visas cancelled to keep campuses ‘safe’, interfering in foreign educational curricula and initiating prosecutions of what he describes as ‘hate crimes’.

This is echoed in Segal’s ‘Priorities’ which include compulsory training for Home Affairs staff responsible for certain visa applications and a task force to review existing visas.

Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, who serves as the U.S. task force for combating anti-Semitism, boasts about enjoying the ability to make governments comply with his will, using either gentle or forceful persuasion and leveraging the power of the U.S. government to advance Jewish interests.

Acceding to US demands

Initially reluctant, the Labor Albanese government finally appointed Segal in July 2024.

Her appointment followed a period of intense lobbying from the US State Department which was not covered by Australian media.

FOI releases show that In May 2024, the then US deputy antisemitism envoy, Aaron Keyek travelled to Australia and met with officials in Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Attorney General’s Department to put pressure on the Albanese government to appoint an envoy.

He also met with Co-Chair of Labor Friends of Israel Deborah O’Neill.

The crunch came with an ultimatum regarding a meeting of special envoys in Argentina in July 2024 to sign US drafted global guidelines to counter antisemitism. A former senior US official told JNS,

In 2019 the New York based WJC – the central governing organisation of Jewish organisations, which ‘defends the Jewish state of Israel’ – established the Special Envoys and Coordinators Combating Antisemitism (SECCA) Network which coordinates ‘responses to antisemitism …’ Segal’s work is partially dictated by this body.

Since her appointment, Segal has worked closely with SECCA. In July last year, the US Special Envoy in the State Department Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda thanked her for hosting an online forum.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds defeated Democrat David Jolly on Tuesday to become Florida’s next governor, succeeding term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis and extending the GOP’s hold on the state’s top office since 1998.

Donalds, a Naples Republican who represents Florida’s 19th Congressional District, secured the win with nearly 50% of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Florida Division of Elections. While Zelenskyy is in Berlin firming up support from Germany, France the U.K and EU allies around the concept of expanded conflict with Russia, while Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney shares his support from the sidelines of the Commonwealth in the Caribbean, the Kremlin has announced their representative for upcoming talks in Abu Dhabi.

In a slight change from previous discussions, President Vladimir Putin’s primary aide Vladimir ​Medinsky will serve ⁠as Moscow’s chief negotiator ​at the organized talks in Abu Dhabi Nov. 10-11.

There is something different about this round of talks considering the successful 6-day ceasefire in Oleshky, Ukraine, which was led by the outreach of First Lady Melania Trump toward representatives of both Russia and Ukraine.

Additionally, andlikely much to the annoyance of those European figures who control the Ukrainian narrative, Melania Trump has announced there will be a meeting at the White House between representatives of both Russia and Ukraine later this week. Mrs. Trump is going to make public remarks Thursday,November 5th.

A week after the Abu Dhabi negotiations, President Trump, Chairman Xi and President Putin will be together at the APEC Summit.

This is the trilateral hard-power meeting that infuriates the sensibilities of the middle soft-powers, Ukraine, Europe and Canada.

The APEC Summit is being held in Shenzhen China on November 17th and 18th.

One reason I'm not worried about how things play out in the big picture is that I don't expect things to unfold like business as usual for the next two years. And that was even if a red wave happened.

I believe the system under which we've all been oppressed is set for a massive comeuppance, and I can't fathom us having to wait years to see what has to happen, happen.

In what will be remembered for a remarkable set of geopolitical statements that cover roughly four-minutes, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decrees the administration of President Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio no longer represents a nation who believe in the advancement of global protection and the responsibility to protect smaller nations.

Whoever inside the Zelensky administration is writing these speeches, is purposefully antagonizing the United States and trying to create further division internally. These are very strategically written works of snark from a very particular psychology. I strongly urge everyone to listen to these remarks as they highlight the disturbing intent of a Machiavellian deceiver. [Video and Transcript Below]

Zelenskyy, framing himself as the global judge of all things virtuous and victimized, notes the importance of the American mid-term election happening today, then uses that American context to cast aspersions toward statements made by President Trump, JD Vance (Berlin security conference ’25) and Marco Rubio (Acropolis in Athens). Zelenskyy then states vision behind the Statue of Liberty -which he cites- is no longer available as a guiding light of optimism to the world.

“America also stood for certain rules in the world—rules that gave people and nations something real to count on, a certain way of life where freedom truly mattered, and certain relationships between countries backed by real security guarantees.

America brought predictability and a dream: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest – tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

It’s a beautiful dream, and its horizon is the human desire for freedom; its heart is the ability to guarantee security for yourself, for your family, for your life. And this is what brought people together around America. But but we have already seen the days after which the world felt that this picture might no longer exist.

So, in America, elections always come in November; then there is a little time until January for everyone to calm down somehow and get used to the changes. And, of course, sometimes people never really get used to them. Right now, things are deeply uncertain. Many hopes may once again end in disappointment, not because America will become weaker or less interested in the world around it, but because many in America believe it will always stay that way, and that the world can somehow manage without American involvement and without American support for those who simply want the same kind of change in their own countries that free nations have already achieved.

The new generation in America talks, cares, and thinks about different things—not the things that mattered to those who began their journey back in the 20th century.

So, what does this mean for everyone else in the world? We all know the answer, even if many don’t want to say it out loud.

Maybe America will not live its existing alliances; maybe it will still be somewhere within reach; maybe it will speak of our shared past in Athens, with the Parthenon behind it, or somewhere here in Berlin, in places where freedom won a decisive battle for Europe. But it may still be an America that is much more focused on itself—an America that thinks much less about the fact that without it, others might lose their security.

Let me remind you uh one—one statement: “America, the guarantor to the world for the last 80 years, is no longer there.” And these are the words of a serving US ambassador, a very influential, by the way, person. And it wasn’t some shocking news—no, just another fact about the world as it has become.
