The product, called Atlas Eon 100, claims it will store humanity’s “irreplaceable archives” for thousands of years.

These include family photos, scientific data, corporate records, cultural artifacts and the master versions of digital artworks, movies, manuscripts and music.

“This is the culmination of more than ten years of product development and innovation across multiple disciplines,” Bill Banyai, Founder of Atlas Data Storage, said in a statement. “We intend to offer new solutions for long-term archiving, data preservation for AI models, and the safeguarding of heritage and high-value content.”

Fundamentally, all digital data is just a series of 1s and 0s in a defined sequence. DNA is similar in that it is made up of defined sequences of the chemical bases adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G) and thymine (T).

DNA data storage works by mapping the binary code to these bases; for example, an encoding scheme might assign A as 00, C as 01, G as 10, and T as 11. Artificial DNA can then be synthesized with the bases arranged in the corresponding order.

For Atlas Eon 100, the DNA is then dehydrated and stored as a powder in 0.7-inch-tall (1.8 cm) ruggedized steel capsules. It is rehydrated only when it needs to be sequenced and its bases translated back to binary.

More useful than magnetic tape

Just one quart (one liter) of the DNA solution can hold 60 petabytes of data the equivalent of 10 billion songs or 12 million HD movies. This makes Atlas Eon 100, 1,000 times more storage-dense than magnetic tape.

For context, about 15,500 miles (25,000 km) of 0.5-inch-wide (12.7 mm) LTO-10 tape, a standard high-capacity storage medium, would be needed to hold that same amount of data.

This storage density will make transporting large quantities of data easier than it would be with typical hard drives or tape reels. DNA is also known to keep its form for centuries, making it a remarkably stable medium for preserving data over very long periods.

Atlas Data Storage says its product is stable in an office environment with 99.99999999999% reliability, but the capsules can also endure temperatures as high as 104°F (40°C). Magnetic tape, on the other hand, decays in about a decade even with temperature and humidity controls.

Optical media, such as CDs and DVDs, typically degrade within 30 years, while hard drives last about 6 or 7 years before showing signs of deterioration. In less than 3 hours at 158°F (70 °C), a flash memory cell can ‘age’ as much as it normally would in a month.

Atlas also argues that its DNA storage service offers an easier way to make backups of its customers’ data than other media do. Indeed, once one strand is encoded, enzymes can be used to make more than a billion copies in just a few hours.

A solution for a data-hungry society?

According to Atlas, society generates 280 PB of data every minute. It presents its DNA data storage as a potential solution to the proliferation of digital data, which has been exacerbated massively by the generative AI boom.

Sequencing is notoriously expensive it costs about $30 USD to read one gigabase of DNA currently, the equivalent of about 250 GB of data. It also takes a long time, with another recent DNA storage resolution reporting that it takes 25 minutes to recover a single file.

A lot of technological progress is needed and I have not seen anyone with an economically viable solution yet however it is a matter of time.

In fact perhaps it already took place and the “junk” DNA is information of intelligence in the universe.

January 'Wolf Supermoon': How to see the full moon rise with Jupiter this weekend

Saturday, Jan. 3 will mark the first full moon of 2026. Known as the Wolf Moon, it will be at its fullest at 5:02 a.m. EST and best seen rising in the east at dusk later that day.

It will also be a "supermoon," meaning it will appear brighter and larger than usual.

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, January's full moon gets its name because wolves were more likely to be heard howling at this time of year.

Other Native American names for this full moon include the Cold Moon, the Frost Exploding Moon, the Freeze-Up Moon, the Severe Moon, the Hard Moon, the Center Moon, and the Canada Goose Moon.

In Europe, it's often called the Moon After Yule, after the ancient festival that stretches from the winter solstice on Dec. 21 through Jan. 1.

The best time to see the Wolf Moon will be at moonrise on Jan. 3, when it will appear at dusk between a star and a very bright planet. On its left will be Pollux, a bright star in the constellation Gemini, and Jupiter will be on its right.

The "king of planets" will be just a week away from its bright opposition — the most luminous it will get from our perspective in 2026.

Because it's the full moon closest to the winter solstice on Dec. 21, the Wolf Moon will also make the highest arc through the night sky of any full moon, as seen from the Northern Hemisphere.

That happens because a full moon is always opposite the sun, so the winter sun mimics the summer sun.

The Wolf Moon is also the fourth consecutive supermoon, though it will not be particularly large. It is also the last one until November.

It's called a supermoon because it turns full close to perigee, the closest the moon gets to Earth. As it turns full on Jan. 3, the full moon will be 225,130 miles (362,312 kilometers) from our planet.

By chance, that will happen as Earth reaches perihelion — its closest point to the sun — when it will be 91.4 million miles (147.1 million km) from our star, compared with the average distance of 93 million miles (150 million km).

After the Wolf Moon, the next full moon will be the Snow Moon, on Feb. 1.

The chief executive of the Israeli spyware maker NSO Group, Yaron Shohat, said on Thursday he was stepping down, according to a letter sent to employees and obtained by Haaretz. The company confirmed the move, which comes amid a broader overhaul – the latest in a series of changes underway at the famous Israeli spyware maker, as it attempts to reinvent itself after a multi-year bitter confrontation with the United States after NSO was economically "blacklisted" by the Biden administration.

Shohat wrote to employees that in light of changes in ownership and a new investment, he concluded that the time had come to "hand over the wheel." Despite a tenure full of "challenges and obstacles," he said the firm "continued to proudly serve our customers – security and intelligence organizations."

He will step down in the coming days and will accompany the company until a new CEO is appointed. In the interim, Akiva Rosner will serve as acting CEO.

Rosner represents Jewish American Hollywood producer Robert Simonds, who is leading the company's new group of creditors. Two months ago, NSO announced the appointment of David Friedman – who served as U.S. ambassador to Israel during Trump's first administration – as executive chairman of the spyware maker, alongside the transfer of control of the company's debt to new owners.

In another operation, in Borno State, troops neutralized three terrorists in separate engagements.

On December 29, soldiers of the 26 Task Force Brigade, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, engaged Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters along Tokumbere and Lagara axes, killing two insurgents. One AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered.

“We encountered a heavily armed terrorist delay party along the axis,” said a source from 26 Task Force Brigade. “Our troops engaged them decisively, neutralizing two, while the others fled in disarray. No soldiers were injured during the encounter.”

Additionally, troops of the 151 Task Force Battalion ambushed terrorists at Ladantar in Bama LGA on December 28, killing one insurgent.

“The ambush was executed flawlessly,” said a commander at Forward Operating Base Mayanti. “We recovered a fabric mat believed to belong to the terrorists. Once again, local volunteers proved instrumental in providing timely intelligence.”

Troops of the 5 Brigade, working with the CJTF in Damasak, intercepted a 38-year-old man suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram/ISWAP.

Makinta Bukar was arrested on December 28 while attempting to smuggle items, including phones, a power bank, a solar panel, and food supplies, through the Walada international border.

“The suspect claimed he was merely transporting goods, but preliminary investigations suggest these items were meant for the terrorists,” said a military official. “Operations like this cut off the lifeline of the insurgents and protect our communities.”

Bukar, a native of Gamari village in Niger Republic, and the seized items are currently in custody while investigations continue.

Sambisa Forest Clearance and Arms Recovery

Under Operation Desert Sanity V, troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade, alongside volunteer forces, conducted extensive clearance operations in Sambisa Forest on December 29 and 30.

Several abandoned terrorist enclaves were cleared, including Dure, Century Wolf, Sabil Huda, Ukuba axis, Parisu, Somalia Camp, and Njimiya areas.

“During the operations, we recovered multiple AK-47 rifles, magazines, ammunition, and hand grenades,” said an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officer. “We also safely detonated several IEDs, preventing potential casualties and further attacks.”

“The destruction of these terrorist camps sends a clear message that the Nigerian military remains committed to dismantling insurgent networks,” added the source. “We are making significant progress in reclaiming territory and securing our communities.”

The military credited the success of these operations to the combined efforts of troops, volunteer forces, and local hunters.

“Collaboration with the community is key,” said the senior military source. “Their information often makes the difference between success and failure.”

President Donald Trump, who during the campaign branded Mamdani a “communist lunatic” and threatened to strip federal funding from the city, struck a notably different tone after a White House meeting in November.

“I can tell you, some of my views have changed… I feel very confident that he can do a very good job,” Trump said. Mamdani, for his part, said the meeting was “productive” but later reaffirmed that he still considers Trump a “fascist.”

Mamdani struck a unifying note in his inaugural speech, promising to represent all New Yorkers. “Regardless of our differences, I will protect you, celebrate with you, mourn alongside you, and never hide from you,” he said.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir warned that if a US-backed international stabilization force fails to disarm Hamas, Israel could face renewed Hamas recovery unless a clear decision is made on who will govern Gaza afterward

During a security discussion on Gaza held last week in the presence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s senior defense leadership, including IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, the question resurfaced of who would govern the Gaza Strip on “the day after” the war.

According to several officials familiar with the discussion, Zamir expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of the International Stabilization Force that the United States seeks to establish as part of President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza, known as the ISF. The force is intended to enter the Strip and disarm Hamas.

Zamir told the forum that the IDF is preparing operational plans under which the Israeli military itself would carry out the disarmament of the terrorist organization, meaning another Israeli military operation in Gaza.

Against that backdrop, Zamir pressed Netanyahu to instruct the IDF on what scenario to prepare for if Israel is forced to carry out the disarmament, specifically, who would govern Gaza afterward. Zamir, who opposes an Israeli military administration in the Gaza Strip but presented it as a possible “day after” option if no alternative exists, warned that Israel could find itself back in a situation in which Hamas regains strength, as it is currently doing.

Netanyahu did not provide an answer regarding who would rule Gaza if the stabilization force fails and the IDF is required to disarm Hamas.

Under the Trump plan, the international stabilization force would be tasked with disarming Hamas and governing a rehabilitated Gaza Strip under a technocratic administration overseen by a “Peace Council” led by the United States and other countries. Netanyahu shares the skepticism regarding the force’s ability to carry out the disarmament but Washington still wants to exhaust the option.

Meanwhile, a pilot project known as “Green Rafah” is expected to move forward. The plan involves constructing facilities in an area to which Gaza residents would be allowed to return on the Israeli side of the so-called yellow line only after undergoing security screening.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and other Likud ministers oppose the move, arguing it violates the principle of “no rehabilitation before disarmament.”

However, the pilot reflects a commitment Israel made to the United States several weeks ago in discussions between Netanyahu, his close associate Ron Dermer and the U.S. administration, particularly ahead of Netanyahu’s visit to Trump’s Florida estate. Domestic political pressure in Israel has so far failed to halt the plan.

Israeli officials are now asking the Americans to uphold the principle of “rehabilitation in exchange for disarmament” by first disarming an additional area of Gaza not under Israeli control, similar in size to the planned Green Rafah zone, so the situation in southern Gaza would remain balanced.

Some ministers fear the United States will push for rehabilitation and disarmament simultaneously in stages, disarming a small area while rebuilding it at the same time.

Among the contingency plans discussed in case the stabilization force fails is the disarmament of southern Gaza, including the Khan Younis and Rafah areas, while relocating the civilian population northward. After the south is disarmed, residents would return following security screening, and the IDF would then launch operations in northern and central Gaza to disarm Hamas.

Representatives of Israeli military intelligence confirmed in closed briefings to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that Hamas has been rebuilding across multiple fronts since the fighting paused, including weapons production, training, operational doctrine, manpower and organizational learning.

Former special Counsel Jack Smith sat for a closed-door session on December 17 before the House Judiciary Committee and wound up undermining the January 6 Committee’s star witness.

During his eight-hour grilling by House lawmakers on his Trump probes - the 2020 election mess and the classified docs saga - he made a stunning admission about Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony, conceding that it was nothing more than hearsay.

Hutchinson, a former senior aide to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, claimed that President Trump was aware that some of the Jan. 6 attendees were armed, and that Trump dramatically lunged to grab the wheel of the presidential SUV when he was told he couldn't go to the Capitol - which has been utterly dispelled as bullshit by the rest of the passengers.

"If I were a defense attorney and Ms. Hutchinson were a witness, the first thing I would do was seek to preclude some of her testimony because it was hearsay, and I don’t have the full range of her testimony in front of me right now, but I do remember that that was a decent part of it," Smith told the committee.

The transcript, which dropped on New Year's Eve, proves that even Smith saw through the hype of the committee’s star witness.

Smith dissected her big claims head-on. He probed her story about Trump spotting armed rallygoers and shrugging it off. He zeroed in on the wild tale of Trump lunging for the presidential limo steering wheel. Hutchinson testified that after returning to the White House on January 6, 2021, she walked toward the chief of staff’s office and noticed then-Assistant Director of the United States Secret Service Office, Tony Ornato, waiting outside. He waved her into his nearby office, shut the door, and she saw Secret Service agent Bobby Engel sitting inside, looking shaken and confused.

According to Hutchinson's testimony, Ornato asked, “Did you effing hear what happened in The Beast?” Hutchinson said she had just arrived and had no idea. Ornato then described what he claimed occurred inside the presidential vehicle. According to him, President Trump believed he was heading to the Capitol after being told the move was still possible. Engel informed the president that it was not secure and that they were returning to the West Wing.

Hutchinson testified that Ornato said Trump became enraged and yelled, “I’m the effing president. Take me up to the Capitol now.” She said Ornato claimed that Trump reached for the steering wheel, Engel grabbed his arm, and Trump then lunged at Engel, with Ornato gesturing toward Engel’s clavicles as he described it.

CBS News anchor Tony Dokoupil addressed viewers in what appeared to be a pre-recorded promotional segment aimed at repairing more than a decade of reputational damage and announcing changes to the program. He acknowledged that the corporate media outlet had "missed the story" too often and, in doing so, had lost the trust of Americans.

If you go back starting in the fifties until today, it seems to me a creepy thing was done. I believe that white men and women were made ill, with creepy cancers and others incurable diseases on purpose. I know it sounds fantastical to normies, but by believing “doctors” and tests, you get pharmaceuticals and chemo and radiation and many other “killers” into your body because you believe the “reports”. Colon tests, prostate tests, breast tests, in my opinion are gateway testing to “find cancers”, “abnormal” items….then you become alarmed and and take everything they throw at you. Then you die anyway.

What got me looking at this was Robert Ulrich and his wife. Their illnesses and deaths. Robert Ulrich was very handsome and masculine. He was also Rusyn and Slavik. Wife was Canadian and Scottish. Also very beautiful.

Again I know it sounds strange, but I immediately thought “were they made to become sick”. It made headlines as they died, years apart, but as I was reading about them it just kept coming to my mind the possibility that white people are targeted for disease on purpose, made infertile, sicknesses that drain finances and dying due to disease. Imagine if some asshole higher up inHollywood “mafia” thinks you crossed them or has some unnatural hatred of you, due to your handsome “dna”. Again, “far fetched” is what many will say, but I have deep suspicions that white people have been being killed off for decades and “medicine” and “rare disease” is just the headline, so we just accept it.
