“Students will be able to explain how race is socially constructed and how that social construction has been used to oppress people of color, specifically in relation to Jim Crow, segregation, and racial covenants…”

The Center of the American Experiment, a Minnesota-based education policy organization that opposes partisan and race-based curricula, is helping districts find politically neutral alternatives that it says are more like traditional social studies and history electives and less like social justice advocacy guidance.

“The words ethnic studies have been hijacked,” Catrin Wigfall, a policy fellow with the center, told The Epoch Times.

“But boards [of education] have more power in this than they might think.”

Additionally, state laws allow parents to review a curriculum and opt their child out of any instruction they find objectionable, in which case the school is required to provide alternative materials, Wigfall said.

The Minnesota Department of Education defines ethnic studies as an interdisciplinary area of instruction that “analyzes how race and racism have been and continue to be social, cultural, and political forces, and the connection of race to the stratification of other groups.”

The state law requires public schools to incorporate ethnic studies lessons in mandatory social studies courses across all grade levels, in addition to offering a stand-alone ethnic studies elective course for high school juniors and seniors.

In 2023, the Minnesota Department of Education stipulated that the ethnic studies context is expected to be embedded in other subject areas, including math, physical education, and health, as courses are periodically revised.

The Center of the American Experiment argues that those standards habituate angry, inaccurate, and “identity-first” ideological and political perspectives.

"Locked & Loaded": Trump Says US Will Intervene If Iran Kills Protesters

President Trump has just become the first sitting US President to explicitly warn that the United States stands ready to directly intervene in Iran if Tehran authorities begin killing peaceful protesters, as he wrote Friday that Washington "will come to their rescue".

In a brief early morning post on Truth Social, he wrote: "We are locked and loaded and ready to go." He gave no further details what course of action this might take, but it's a pretty clear and provocative message to Iranian leadership - or comes very close to saying something akin to the 'Ayatollah must go'.

Trump's full message is as follows: "If Iran shots [sic] and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue."

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei did respond in very short fashion, with a senior aide from his office saying Trump should "be careful" if he intervened, warning of unleashing more chaos in the region.

"Trump should know that US interference in this internal matter would mean destabilizing the entire region and destroying America's interests," Khamenei adviser Ali Larijani stated.

The economic protests which have been raging since Sunday, and have spread from the marketplaces to the universities, have turned deadly. International monitors and media have said six have been killed.

However, Iranian officials are saying at least one of these deaths and many among the injured are security forces. The slain officer was said to be a member of the Basij - a paramilitary force linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). In several locales Basij members have been observed supporting local police forces, as is typical whenever major anti-government protests flare up.

Newsweek reviews of the violence so far in the country of over 90 million people:

Deaths were reported in Lordegan, Kuhdasht, and Isfahan, though casualty figures vary between state media and rights groups.

The Revolutionary Guards said one member of its Basij paramilitary unit was killed in Kuhdasht, with 13 others wounded.

Rights group Hengaw identified the man as a protester, contradicting official claims.

Demonstrations spread to Marvdasht in Fars province, while arrests were reported in Kermanshah, Khuzestan, and Hamedan.

Most of the protest deaths have come in the West of the country, and mounting casualties from the unrest has been confirmed in Iranian state media - though few details have been given in some instances on whether these are police or protesters.

Fighting Breaks Out On Saudi Border In Oil-Rich Yemen Region

Yemen continues to be a major headache and security risk for the Saudis, and rare fighting has emerged just on the kingdom's border. Looming over the crisis is the deepening rift between Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Saudi warplanes carried out fresh airstrikes on sites near the Saudi-Yemeni border in Yemen's Hadramout province on Friday, as clashes erupted between forces loyal to the Saudi-backed provincial governor and fighters affiliated with the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC).

The STC has for years called the secession of a proposed federal "State of South Arabia" from the rest of the country, and is backed in this current conflict by the UAE.

At lease seven air raids along the border occurred Friday, according to local officials. The STC's leader in Wadi Hadramout, Mohammed Abdulmalik, has said that the strikes killed seven people and injured more than 20 others.

Saudi-backed authorities have this week moved to reassert control over military installations in the province. Hadramout borders Saudi Arabia and thus whichever group controls the area gains great influence and strategic importance, also given it is an area rich with crude.

Earlier on Friday, Yemen's Saudi-backed government formally announced the launch of a military operation targeting the STC in Hadramout. Speaking in a televised address from Riyadh, the province's governor said the campaign was intended to reassert state authority and secure key institutions in the oil-producing region.

In response, STC forces said they were fully prepared to confront any military escalation following the governor's announcement.

SBA Suspends 7,000 Minnesota Borrowers Over "Suspected Fraudulent Activity"

Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler announced late Thursday that nearly 7,000 Minnesota borrowers have been suspended over suspected fraud. The move follows a bombshell report last week by citizen journalist Nick Shirley, who detailed alleged large-scale fraud tied to daycare centers operated by Somali-linked networks. The revelations sparked national outrage, with many Americans angered that their taxes are funding what appears to be industrial-scale migrant welfare fraud.

"Over the last week, SBA has reviewed thousands of potentially fraudulent pandemic-era PPP and EIDL loans approved in Minnesota," Loeffler said Thursday on X.

She continued:

Today, our agency took action to suspend 6,900 Minnesota borrowers amid suspected fraudulent activity. In total, these borrowers were approved for 7,900 PPP and EIDL loans worth approximately $400M. These individuals will be banned from all SBA loan programs, including disaster loans, going forward.

We will also refer every case, where appropriate, to federal law enforcement for prosecution and repayment.

It’s a bit frustrating to live in a city that it’s so beautiful it hurts, but is only reported around the world when some awful criminal event takes place, or if one of our ‘leaders’ is caught during a corruption sting… you know, third world problems.

The nice exception are the mega events that take place in this city that is designed for tourism: Rock in Rio, the Carnival, and of course, the largest New Year’s Eve in the planet.

Israel asked Qatar to increase the financial assistance it was giving to Gaza one month before the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, massacre, the Yedioth Aharonoth daily reported Friday.

In September 2023, Israeli officials met at a Jerusalem hotel with Mohammed al-Emadi, the Qatari envoy to Gaza, who oversaw the delivery of hundreds of millions of dollars in cash from Qatar to Gaza between 2018 and 2021, the report said. There, they asked him to increase the amount of fuel purchased from Egypt by Doha for the benefit of Gaza’s Hamas government.

Qatar, since 2021, had been purchasing fuel from Egypt, which it would then gift to Hamas in Gaza. The fuel was then sold by the terror group to gas stations inside the Strip, thus bringing money to the regime to pay its own officials and commanders.

Activists Linked to George Soros Are Training Jurors So They Can Help ‘Marginalized’ Defendants

A judicial activist group linked to George Soros’ activist groups is coming under scrutiny for what they call “juror teach-in” sessions to protect “those with marginalized identities.”

Free DC, a Washington-based group which describes itself as a “fiscally sponsored special project” of a progressive nonprofit called Community Change and Community Change Action, will be hosting a Jan. 12 training session which, from its description, sounds suspiciously close to a primer on jury nullification.

The session is being co-hosted with another progressive group, Harriet’s Wildest Dreams.

“We’ll discuss what it really means to serve on a jury and how we can use that role to protect our people especially those with marginalized identities who are disproportionately targeted by the criminal legal system,” the event description reads.

“Jury duty is not just a civic responsibility; it’s a powerful tool for ensuring fairness and justice. As community members, our participation in juries is vital to safeguarding the rights of those who are most vulnerable to systemic biases.

“By serving on a jury, we can influence outcomes and help create a more equitable legal process.”

As of Thursday, the session is “open to everyone,” although that may change given the attention the event has suddenly received.

As the New York Post reported, Free DC’s funding can be traced back to several large progressive philanthropies, including Soros’ Open Society Foundations.

The OSF’s $20 million donation to Free DC initially came under scrutiny in August when the group took an active role in fighting President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops in the nation’s capital after several high-profile violent crimes.

“‘Do not obey in advance’ and ‘Take up space’ are among Free DC’s ‘guiding principles,’ and the group urges supporters to ‘go outside at 8:00 PM and bang pots and pans, sing, chant, or make noise for five minutes’ every night ‘of this occupation,'” the Post reported at the time.

“Free DC has scheduled multiple events since Monday’s anti-Trump protest, including a ‘Cop Watch Training,’ suggesting further protests are planned amid Trump’s effort to make DC the ‘safest, cleanest and most beautiful cities anywhere in the world’ – by ramping up law enforcement efforts and removing homeless encampments from public places.”

Government Disclosure Pipeline Has Collapsed

A former US Air Force nuclear specialist is claiming that President Trump could release photos of a recovered craft this year, while a British documentary filmmaker says the Vatican is quietly preparing for first contact with extraterrestrial life.

Gene Sticco, a retired Air Force Staff Sergeant who spent over 30 years working in military intelligence and nuclear weapons security, recently spoke with the Daily Star about what he expects from the current administration regarding UFO disclosure.

According to Sticco, the smoking gun is out there, but whether or not the government wheels it out for public display remains another question entirely.

He pointed to 2026 and 2027 as a significant year, noting it marks the 75-year window from the 1952 Washington DC UFO incidents, when classified documents not revealed as part of Project Blue Book automatically become releasable. But 2026 might be when we get images of UFOs.

According to Sticco, the government’s controlled disclosure process has reached its capacity and is no longer manageable. He describes the current situation as transition by design, with a new focus on better structuring institutions and international cooperation.

Meanwhile, British documentary filmmaker Mark Christopher Lee claims he has been given rare access to the Vatican’s secret archives.

According to an interview with the Mirror newspaper, Lee believes the Catholic Church is already considering the theological implications of discovering extraterrestrial life.

Number of abortions in U.S. continue to rise despite Supreme Court's Dobbs decision

The pro-abortion Society of Family Planning found the number of monthly abortions continued to increase in 2025, with an estimated 98,630 babies aborted every month through June 2025, compared to 95,250 abortions every month in 2024.

The number of abortions nationwide increased in the first half of 2025, compared to the year before, despite the Supreme Court's ruling in 2022 that returned regulation of abortions to the states.

The Supreme Court issued the highly controversial opinion in June 2022, that overturned the historic ruling in Roe v. Wade.

The pro-abortion Society of Family Planning revealed last month that the number of monthly abortions continued to increase in 2025, with an estimated 98,630 babies aborted every month through June 2025, compared to 95,250 abortions every month in 2024.

There were an estimated 88,180 babies aborted each month in 2023, and 79,620 aborted in 2022.

The group also estimated that over a quarter of the abortions that were carried out in the first half of 2025 (27%) were through telehealth, which means they were done by abortion pills sent through the mail, according to the Daily Wire.

The telehealth abortions were most commonly carried out in states with the strongest pro-life laws, including Texas and Louisiana. Medicated abortion in these states is banned, but the pills are usually sent by doctors from other states.

The number of medicated abortions in Louisiana in 2024 was 7,530, compared to 2,480 in 2023. In Texas, there were an estimated 35,870 medicated abortions in 2024, compared to 12,420 in 2023, the outlet also reported.

Jack Smith Says Trump Did NOT Have First Amendment Right to Say 2020 Election Was Fraudulent in Newly-Released Deposition

House Judiciary Republicans on Wednesday released a transcript and video of Jack Smith’s closed-door testimony to Congress.

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith appeared on Capitol Hill last month for a closed-door testimony before the House Judiciary Committee.

Republican lawmakers called Jack Smith to testify over his “partisan and politically motivated” Trump prosecutions.

Jack Smith was appointed as Special Counsel in 2022 by Joe Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate Trump just one day after Trump announced his 2024 bid for the White House.

In June 2023, Jack Smith indicted Trump on 37 federal counts in Miami for lawfully storing presidential records at his Mar-a-Lago estate, which was protected by Secret Service agents.

In a separate case in Washington DC, Jack Smith indicted Trump on four counts: Conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

Jack Smith defended his inquisition in an opening statement to congressional investigators.

“The decision to bring charges against President Trump was mine, but the basis for those charges rests entirely with President Trump and his actions, as alleged in the indictments returned by grand juries in two different districts,” Jack Smith said.

During his deposition, Jack Smith said his prosecutors framed the case against Trump as a fraud case rather than a First Amendment issue.

“Fraud is not protected by the First Amendment, so in my mind it was important to make that clear in the indictment…” Jack Smith said as he boasted about the case ‘prevailing’ in the district court with corrupt Obama-appointed Judge Chutkan.

Two of Jack Smith’s charges against President Trump in the DC case were ultimately torpedoed by the US Supreme Court after it issued a ruling on the obstruction statute – 1512(c)(2).

“The president’s statements that he believed that the election was rife with fraud – those are certainly statements that are protected by the First Amendment, correct?” the congressional investigator asked Jack Smith.

Jack Smith said Trump did not have a First Amendment right to question the election.

“Absolutely not. If they are made to target a lawful government function, and they’re made with knowing falsity. No, they’re not. That was my point about fraud not being protected by the First Amendment,” Jack Smith said.

The congressional investigator said there is a long list of disputed elections going back to the 1800s, where candidates have spoken out about fraud.

Jack Smith pivoted and claimed there is “no historical analog for what President Trump did in this case.”

Mike Davis, noted attorney and founder of the Article III Project, said Jack Smith must face criminal prosecution for violating President Trump’s constitutional rights by “contorting laws” to criminalize protected First Amendment speech.

Chinese-owned Wilson Security contracts to Defence and Prime Minister’s Office

One of Australia’s largest security companies owned by two Hong Kong billionaires has contracts to protect the Australian Tax Office, Defence Department and Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Wilson Security’s involvement with Australian Government goes back to at least July 2012 when the two billionaire brothers, Thomas and Raymond Kwok, directors of the company, were charged with bribing a Hong Kong government official in a case that shook the Hong Kong establishment.

According to an ABC report leaked documents have revealed that two brothers embroiled in a massive Hong Kong corruption scandal were ultimately in control of an Australian security company that earned roughly half a billion dollars in lucrative government contracts.

Soon after their arrest, the leaked documents, obtained by the ABC’s Four Corners, show the brothers covertly remained directors of the offshore company that ultimately controls Wilson’s operations in Australia — Wilson Offshore Group Holdings (BVI) Limited.

Six months prior to Thomas Kwok’s bribery conviction, in December 2014, Wilson Security was engaged in a tender process for a Defence contract.

In a statement to the ABC, the Department of Defence said “a negotiation process was entered into with Wilson Security Pty Ltd over the period January to June 2014. Wilson Security Pty Ltd did not disclose any bribery offence relating to its directors during this process”.

Since the arrest of the Kwok brothers in July 2012, Wilson Security secured a sub-contract to provide garrison services for Australia’s offshore detention centres on Nauru and Manus Island as well as various other contracts with Defence, The Australian Tax Office and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.

While the AFP is responsible for personal protection, Wilson Security does currently hold separate government contracts for other security services, including:

Providing general security guard services for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s facilities, a contract running from July 2021 to June 2026.

Providing security services for various Australian Department of Defence sites across several states and territories, including in Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and South NSW.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, RINO Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s office has brushed off mounting concerns over potential large-scale fraud in taxpayer-funded daycare centers—particularly in Columbus, home to the second-largest Somali population in the United States—as merely “the cost of doing business,” even after two independent journalists uncovered disturbing evidence of potential ghost daycare operations in Columbus, Ohio.
