The truly disturbing thing though, I just want you to know this, a truly disturbing thing to me, and the darkest thing about this, to me, the voter fraud is terrible.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday debuted a special event for podcasters, as she continues expanding access to President Donald Trump's administration.

Leavitt taunted the establishment media as she debuted the new event where members of the White House communications team and cabinet members made the rounds with various podcast stars.

'I bet you, the people in that room have much more viewers than CNN and the legacy media, just saying,' she said in a video posted to social media. 'We're proud to welcome them to the White House.'

Staffers set up a room in the executive office building on the White House grounds for podcast and camera crews who participated in the event.

Podcasters Michael Knowles of the Daily Wire, Jack Posobiec of Human Events, Dr. Drew Piskey, Sage Steele, War Room's Natalie Winters, NewsNation correspondent Libbey Dean and David Freiheit were among the list of podcasters and new media figures at the event.

'Our inaugural Podcast Row at the White House was a rousing success,' White House Deputy Communications Director Kaelan Dorr said to DailyMail.com.

Dorr explained that President Joe Biden's administration had effectively frozen out some of the new media voices, including prominent podcast platforms.

'We've made it clear from the beginning that we will attempt to communicate the President's agenda to as many Americans as possibleby providing unprecedented access to administration officials for outlets that have been overlooked by prior administrations,' he

White House and cabinet officials who made the rounds included Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, and Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought.

'The last time you and I were together, we spent about 20 hours on a train together to go and see President Zelensky over in Ukraine, although I trust your commute today was a little better than that,' Posobiec joked with Bessent, recalling their travel together for high-level negotiations in Ukraine.

Posobiec's trip to Ukraine demonstrated a strong commitment from the administration to an ongoing relationship with podcast and new media figures by opening up access.

Leavitt has opened up a 'new media' seat in the White House press room and also routinely adds podcasters and influencers to the press lineup at the White House and on Air Force One.

Leavitt herself joined the interview circuit on Podcast row as well as Dorr and Principal Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields.

'We're adjusting to the times, like we're really doing throughout the entire administration ... we're just trying to bring our country to 2025,' Fields told Posobiec.

'We're trying to make sure that everybody has access,' Deputy White House Communications Director Kaelan Dorr said during his interview.

Dorr, who helps run the White House digital shop, said he and his team were laser focused on delivering the president's message across all digital platforms and social media.

'We're pushing the limits on everything but we're not hyper fixated on trends if that makes sense,' he said.

Alina Habba, who was preparing to return to New Jersey as President Trump's interim U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba, indicated she would miss the White House but was ready to bring Trump's sense of justice to her home state.

French Prime Minister François Bayrou is accused of the exact same form of embezzlement of EU funds that Marine Le Pen was just sentenced for.

The allegations are that he and his centrist political party, the Democratic Movement (MoDem), misused European Parliament funds by employing individuals in fictitious jobs as parliamentary assistants.

The accusations suggest that between 2005 and 2017, these assistants were paid with EU money intended for work supporting Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), but instead, they primarily performed tasks for MoDem in France, unrelated to their official roles.

The investigation began in 2017, shortly after Bayrou was appointed France’s Justice Minister by Macron.

French authorities looked into whether MoDem, under Bayrou’s leadership, had systematically employed staff using EU funds—estimated initially at €1.4 million—for party work rather than legitimate parliamentary duties.

Bayrou faced charges of "complicity in the embezzlement of public funds" in 2019, reflecting his role as MoDem’s president and alleged orchestrator of the scheme.

The case led to his resignation as Justice Minister just a month into Macron’s presidency.

In February 2024, a Paris court acquitted Bayrou, citing insufficient evidence that he personally authorized or knew of the fraudulent practices, giving him "the benefit of the doubt."

However, the court convicted eight others, including five former MEPs, sentencing them to suspended prison terms and fines, and fined MoDem €350,000 (€50,000 suspended) as a legal entity.

Despite Bayrou’s acquittal, the Paris prosecutor appealed the decision, arguing that evidence supported his culpability.

As of March 31, 2025, a second trial looms, though no date is set.

Native American tribes in Alaska celebrated the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) decision to reinstate leasing and expansion for Alaska’s oil and gas, community leaders told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

DOI announced Thursday that DOI Secretary Doug Burgum is “taking immediate steps to unleash Alaska’s untapped natural resource potential and support President Donald Trump’s vision of American Energy Dominance,” through reopening oil drilling in areas that the Biden administration had previously moved to shut down.Native community leaders in Alaska told the DCNF that the DOI under the Trump administration has taken a step in a “favorable” direction.

“It’s cautious optimism,”Nagruk Harcharek, president of Voice of the Arctic Iñupiat, (VOICE) anonprofit organization that represents 21 different Native American corporations and communities in Alaska, told the DCNF. “We feel like we’re going to be able to get some things done with a more favorable administration, but we’re also being careful about it because we don’t want to threaten that cultural base and lifestyle that we rely on every day.”

Drilling activity is again open for development on the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska(NPR-A) and the Arctic Wildlife National Refuge’s (ANWR) Coastal Plain, after the Biden administration moved to forward a 2023 proposed rule to shut down development in 2024. VOICE and its members announced that they “applaud the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Actions on the North Slope,” in a March 20 press release shared with the DCNF.

“It was just constant barrage of surprise after surprise,” Harcharek recalled the actions of the Biden administrationto the DCNF. Harcharek referenced that theprevious administration claimed to be the “most tribally friendly administration in the history of the United States,” though the native communities in the North Slope of Alaska “didn’t get that sentiment whatsoever.”

Harcharek signaled that the Biden administration promised “meaningful consultation with the indigenous communities who stand to be most affected by policy decisions,” on paper, andthat they “were hopeful that it would be included in those dialogues” surrounding the National Petroleum Reserve. He said there was “very minimal consultation,” though this impacts his communities’ “backyard.”

“Oftentimes we were finding out policy changes in the news,” Harcharek said. “Which is not ideal when they have our phone numbers.”

“VOICE gets mischaracterized as an oil and gas advocacy organization and that’s not true,” Harcharek said. “We are here to advocate for an economic base to support our communities and to support our culture.” Harcharek continued to note that“it just so happens that the way we do that right now” is through advocating for pro-oil and pro-gas policies in Alaska“because the economic base the North Slope is through resource development.”

SAN DIEGO — NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems Landing and Recovery team and the Department of Defense successfully completed the third recovery test for the crewed Artemis II mission aboard amphibious transport dock USS Somerset (LPD 25) off the coast of San Diego, March 31.

The primary objectives for Underway Recovery Test 12 were to demonstrate and evaluate the processes, procedures, and hardware for recovery operations for the crewed Artemis II mission around the moon.

“The U.S. Navy and NASA have a long history of partnering together to support the recovery of astronauts and equipment used for space exploration and research,” said Capt. Andrew Koy, commanding officer, USS Somerset.

“The inherent capabilities of our amphibious transport dock ships are the perfect combination to ensuring the Artemis capsule and crew are safely recovered following their mission.

The well deck, flight deck, medical facilities, and immense cargo carrying capacity crewed by highlight trained and proficient Sailors, continues the NASA and Department of Defense legacy.”

Underway Recovery Test 12 allowed NASA and the Department of Defense to practice operational procedures for Artemis II, including timing of crew extraction from the capsule to the ship’s medical bay and day-and-night recovery procedures to support certification of personnel and processes for Artemis II mission.

Artemis II astronaut U.S. Navy Capt. Victor Glover embarked the ship for Underway Recovery Test 12.

“This puts my two loves together, space and the navy. I am really in my happy place here,” said Glover.

“The partnership between NASA and the U.S. Navy is a testament to a fostered symbiotic relationship built on trust, where our needs are met by their unparalleled expertise and resources.

Working in support of U.S. Space Command, additional U.S. Navy units included Expeditionary Strike Group 3, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group 1, and Amphibious Construction Battalion 1, with support from U.S. Air Force’s First Air Force, Detachment 3, and U.S. Space Force’s 45th Space Launch Delta Weather Squadron.

After the 2022 successful recovery of the Orion spacecraft from the Artemis I mission using amphibious transport dock USS Portland (LPD 27), and with the addition of crew for the Artemis II mission, the recovery teams modified their timelines and procedures to ensure the astronauts will be safely on the recovery ship within two hours after splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.

After a 10-day mission, NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen will reenter Earth’s atmosphere at 25,000 mph, landing approximately 60 miles off the coast of California, where one of the U.S. Navy’s amphibious transport dock ships will recover the capsule and crew with NASA and DoD personnel.

'If there is anything in the world, I can do to help you, please let me know. My spirit is with you now and holding your hand.'

Ms Giuffre's last known address was with her estranged husband, Robert Giuffre, and their three children at a $1.9million beachfront property in Ocean Reef, North Perth in Western Australia.

With US President Donald Trump no longer seen as an allyto Kiev due to his push to swiftly end the conflict, Ukraine’sVladimir Zelensky is now “a lot more now under the French, British, the Anglo-Franco Union.”

“He’s now further under them becausehe doesn’t want this war to end. It could possibly be the end of his life, and he knows it,” Krapivnik believes.

Regarding Ukraine’s violations of a 30-day ceasefire on energy infrastructure agreed to with the US following talks in Saudi Arabia on March 15, Krapivniksaid Kiev “just breaks whatever promises it’s made.”

After spending nine months aboard the International Space Station (ISS), veteran astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are finally back on Earth – and they opened up about their mission for the first time in an exclusive Fox News interview that aired Monday.

Sitting down with "America's Newsroom" co-anchor Bill Hemmer at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, the duo reflected on their time in orbit, their reactions to learning they'd be staying longer than planned, the future of space exploration and what it means to serve their country in space.

"My first thought was we've just got to pivot," Williams said, recalling the moment the duo learned their return would be delayed.

"If our spacecraft was going to go home based on decisions made here, and we were going to be up there 'til February, I was like, 'Let's make the best of it.'"

A little "excited" about the prospect of spending months in orbit, Williams enthused about her love for living in space – witnessing "scientific experiments" unfolding around them and seeing the changes made to the International Space Station since her last visit.

"I'm honored to be a little part of it," she added.

For Wilmore, his reaction focused on reminding himself that the mission was not about him or his feelings. "It's about what this human spaceflight program is about. It's our national goals," he told Hemmer.

"And I have to wrap… my mind around, what does our nation need out of me right now? That's going back to when we're in the fleet, and we're operating from the pointy end of the spear… We're an instrument of our nation, of our national goals.

Did I think about not being there for my daughter's high school year? Of course. But… we've trained them to be resilient, my daughters and my family."

Wilmore continued, sharing that his family is forced to develop some resilience, an understanding that there's no "given" when it comes to "test flights."

"We don't know what's going to happen," he continued. "We might not be back in eight days or whatever the plan was. Focus on that, focus on the mission.

Certainly [we] deal with the personal side of it, but I can't let that interfere with what I'm called to do at the moment."

Wilmore and Williams spent over 280 days in space after their eight-day mission, which began last June, was derailed when their Boeing Starliner spacecraft encountered technical issues.

NASA decided it was unsafe to send the astronauts back on the spacecraft, and it returned to Earth unmanned in September.

The duo told Hemmer they didn't blame Boeing for the hiccup, with Wilmore calling spaceflight "hard."

"This is new technology that we're dealing with, so when you put all that together, it's tough," he said.

Williams, similarly, said she wouldn't characterize the spacecraft's issues as Boeing "failing" them.

Wilmore disputed the narrative that he and Williams were "stranded" and "stuck," telling Hemmer that everyone, including himself, was culpable to some extent.

NASA Took Mice Into Space, And It Did Something Scary to Their Bones

Floating about in microgravity might seem like a blissful reprieve for the human body's weight-bearing skeleton, but when astronauts spend months in space, their bone density takes a serious hit that they may never fully recover from.

A study of mice on board the International Space Station gives NASA scientists a better clue as to why this significant and unresolved health risk exists.

As it turns out, the bone losses may not have to do with space radiation, a lack of sunlight, or a similar, systemic factor. After mice spent 37 days in orbit, some parts of their skeletons showed more damage than others.

Compared to 'ground control' mice who were not shuttled off our planet, the hindlimb femurs of mice in space were riddled with large holes, especially at their ends where they join the hip and knee joint.

By contrast, the lumbar part of mice spines remained remarkably intact. "A specific focus of our study is the femur because of its major weight-bearing role in the mouse," explain researchers from NASA and the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science.

In two-legged humans, the lumbar spine mostly carries the weight of the upper body, but in four-legged rodents, the horizontal structure does not serve the same weight-bearing role.

This suggests that mammal bones bearing weight on Earth are the ones most impacted by microgravity in orbit.

Perhaps it's like the 'use it or lose it' concept in neuroscience. If weight-bearing bones aren't getting 'worked out' like usual, they may begin to deteriorate.

When mice on Earth were kept in cages that limit movement, they showed losses of density in weight-bearing bones but to a smaller extent than microgravity mice.

To account for the stress of the rocket launch, the ground control mice were also exposed to simulations of flight.

"If space radiation in low Earth orbit or other systemic factors were the primary effectors of bone loss during spaceflight, we would expect systemic changes to the skeletal system," explain the researchers.

If the loss was caused by ionizing radiation, for instance, researchers would expect to see the dense outer bits of bone somewhat shielding the inner marrow cavity. But that doesn't appear to be the case. The deterioration occurs inside out in mice.

The femoral neck, for instance, has a substantial outer covering of bone, and yet it shows a significant loss of inner, spongy bone marrow when exposed to microgravity for 37 days.

After this much time in low Earth orbit, the authors of the study, led by bioengineer Rukmani Cahill, say mice on board the ISS were exposed to only a small daily dose of radiation.

In simulated studies showing radiation can trigger bone loss, the dosage is much, much higher, equivalent to about 13 years of living on board the ISS.

In less than half a year in low orbit, however, astronauts can experience decades' worth of bone loss, that they may never fully recover.

Each month, on average, human space travelers lose 1 percent or more of their bone density, about 10 times the rate of osteoporosis on Earth. This decline greatly increases the risk of fractures in long bones like the femur.

Unlike human astronauts, the mice tested in the current study were young and in the late stages of skeletal maturation.

In microgravity, their femurs, which should have kept growing for a while, showed signs of premature ossification, turning cartilage to bone earlier than typical. This could possibly limit bone growth, stunting development.

These cautionary results come from NASA's longest-duration spaceflight rodent study to date.

The space agency says it is the first of many experiments that will explore how to protect the health of astronauts during space travel.

If their hypothesis on bone density is right, it suggests that tactics like diet may not improve an astronaut's bone health.

Treadmills with harnesses that hold a user to the ground or devices that mimic weight lifting in space could prove more effective.

Here is the fatal flaw with DC Obama Judge Jeb Boasberg's order:

Even if these designated foreign terrorists are entitled to individual court review before their deportation, which is disputed, the DC court is not the proper court.

Judge Boasberg did not, and does not, have the power to do what he is purporting to do. For this reason alone, everything he is doing is lawless. But it is much worse; it is also dangerous.

Judge Boasberg ran to his courtroom to hold a Saturday hearing, even though he was not even serving as the emergency judge that weekend. (How did he get this case?) He publicly exposed an ongoing U.S. military, intelligence, and law-enforcement operation with an American ally dealing with the most vicious terrorists (Tren de Aragua) and international gang member (MS13) in the Western Hemisphere.

That public exposure put American and allied lives in grave danger.

Stunningly, Judge Boasberg even ordered the President to turn around planes full of terrorists over the Gulf of America, without knowing the fuel levels, the security footprint back in America, or other crucial operational details.

We saw the enormous security footprint in El Salvador. Why would we have had that same footprint in America, as who could have ever imagined an activist DC judge could or would order the President to return planes full of terrorists?

And not completing the mission would have humiliated and politically damaged El Salvador's president, who had hundreds of military, law-enforcement, and other officials awaiting-and who took a significant political and personal risk by agreeing to take these terrorists.

Judge Boasberg's Saturday hearing and order crossed the red line. But Judge Boasberg is doubling down by demanding details about the military operation, to which he is not entitled. Judge Boasberg says he has a security clearance, but he definitely does not have the need to know. And allowing judges to meddle in military operations like this is dangerous and unacceptable.

Foreign leaders are less likely to work with the President, if they fear an activist American judge may disclose their secrets. This harms the President’s ability to conduct foreign policy and his constitutional duty to keep us safe.

The President has a constitutional duty, as the chief executive officer and commander-in-chief, to conduct international affairs, repeal foreign invasion, and protect American lives. The President has a constitutional duty to ignore any clearly unlawful court order that imminently endangers American lives, like Judge Boasberg's orders.

Judge Boasberg is refusing to back down. So the House must move forward with impeachment proceedings for his lawless and dangerous sabotage of the President's core Article II powers.

Nelson concerned about NASA layoffs and other changes

Former NASA Administrator Bill Nelson says he is concerned about some of the recent changes at the agency, such as the firing of its chief scientist.

Speaking on a panel March 29 as part of the Kennedy Center’s “Earth to Space” festival here, Nelson expressed his concerns that the agency’s work on Earth science might be affected by policy changes by the new administration.

“I have to say that the first person that was fired at NASA” in a round of layoffs announced March 10, he said, “was the chief scientist and chief climate officer, and so I think we need to be concerned about that.”

NASA said it was closing the Office of the Chief Scientist as well as its Office of Technology, Policy, and Strategy and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Branch of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, affecting 23 employees.

That included Kate Calvin, a climate scientist who has been NASA’s chief scientist since 2022.

Many scientists are concerned that the agency’s Earth science programs could be targeted for major cuts in the upcoming fiscal year 2026 budget proposal, which by some reports could slash NASA’s overall science programs by as much as 50%.

Nelson, on the panel, emphasized his belief in the importance of Earth science at NASA.

“Is it important to us that we know so that we can be better stewards of what we have on this extraordinary planet?” Nelson asked. “I think this is where politics starts to get in the way.”

In an interview after the panel, Nelson noted that despite the concerns about the agency’s Earth science work, NASA has so far been spared sharper cuts, like widespread layoffs of “probationary” civil servants, seen elsewhere in the government.

“Now I take the long view,” he said. “I think compared to other agencies, NASA is not getting it nearly as bad.”

He praised Janet Petro, NASA’s acting administrator, for efforts to stave off bigger cuts and other changes.

“I do understand that Janet is trying to hold them off on some things,” he said, allowing NASA to move ahead with the Artemis 2 mission scheduled for launch in about a year.

He added, though, that some people still at the agency he talked with recently are concerned and “fearful” of potential future changes, like a future round of layoffs.

Nelson, though, did note concerns about “political interference,” citing comments made by NASA’s current press secretary, Bethany Stevens, in a recent Fox News interview. In that interview, Stevens, a political appointee, discussed the return of the Crew-9 mission that brought back Starliner astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who had been on the station since June.

“This is a huge win for the Trump administration, and it would not have happened without President Trump’s intervention,” she claimed.

However, the decision to return Williams and Wilmore on the Crew-9 mission was made by NASA in August 2024, before Donald Trump won election to a second term.

“Of course, none of that is the case,” Nelson said of those comments in the interview. “I had the responsibility of making the final decision. It was an easy decision because NASA was entirely unanimous.”

Nelson also said he was unaware of any proposal that Elon Musk made to bring Williams and Wilmore back earlier.

The SpaceX chief executive, also a closer adviser to President Trump, has stated several times that he proposed to the Biden administration an earlier return for the two astronauts only to be rejected.

Musk, though, has not provided any details about that proposal or who in the White House rejected it.

“The White House, if they had been contacted, they would have contacted me,” Nelson said. “None of that occurred.”

SpaceX FRAM2 Mission

SpaceX is targeting Monday, March 31 at 9:46 p.m. ET for Falcon 9’s launch of Fram2 to a polar orbit from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

There are three additional launch opportunities within the approximate 4.5-hour window: 11:20 p.m. ET followed by 12:53 a.m. and 2:26 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1.

If needed, backup opportunities are available on Tuesday, April 1 starting at the same time.

The Dragon spacecraft supporting this mission previously flew Crew-1 to and from the International Space Station, Inspiration4, the first all-civilian mission to orbit, and Polaris Dawn, the first commercial mission to conduct an extravehicular activity from Dragon.

This will be the sixth flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Crew-9, RRT-1, Firefly Blue Ghost Mission 1, and two Starlink missions.

Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage will land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

MISSION OBJECTIVES

During their multi-day mission, Dragon and the crew will explore Earth from a polar orbit and fly over Earth’s polar regions for the first time.

They will also conduct 22 research studies designed to help advance humanity’s capabilities for long-duration space exploration and understanding of human health in space.

Throughout Fram2’s time on-orbit, the crew are planning to take the first x-ray in space, perform exercise studies to maintain muscle and skeletal mass, and grow mushrooms in microgravity.

Additionally, after safely returning to Earth, the crew plans to exit from the Dragon spacecraft without additional medical and operational assistance, helping researchers characterize the ability of astronauts to perform unassisted functional tasks after short and long durations in space.

The Marine Corps Attack Drone Team (MCADT) will focus on first-person view (FPV) drone training, ensuring Marines are equipped with cutting-edge unmanned systems.

Through the MCADT, individual and unit lethality will reportedly be enhanced through hands-on training and real-world application.

Dr. Saif stated that several successful operations had been conducted in the Katlang region against high-profile terrorists, including Mohsin Baqir and Abbas, who were eliminated in previous crackdowns.

He said CM Gandapur has directed a comprehensive investigation into the tragic civilian casualties, ensuring that all aspects of the incident are examined and facts are brought to light.

Italian deputy PM blames EU for Le Pen prison sentence

The verdict against the veteran French politician is “a declaration of war by Brussels,” Matteo Salvini has said

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has condemned the verdict against French presidential hopeful Marine Le Pen as “a declaration of war by Brussels.” Le Pen has been sentenced to four years in prison on embezzlement charges and barred from running for president in 2027.

In a post on X on Monday, Salvinicompared the outcome of the =trial in Paris to the recent barring of independent candidate Calin Georgescu in Romania.

”Those who fear the judgment of the voters often find reassurance in the judgment of the courts,”Salvini said. “A bad film that we are also seeing in other countries such as Romania.”

Georgescu, a critic of NATO, the EU, and aid to Ukraine, won an unexpected first-round victory in last year’s election. The results were promptly annulled by Romania’s Constitutional Court, citing funding irregularities. Georgescu was subsequently barred from running in the election rerun scheduled for May 2025.

Salvini called the ruling against Le Pen“a declaration of war by Brussels, at a time when the warlike impulses of Von der Leyen and Macron are frightening.” He was apparently referring to the push by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to militarize the EU and proposals by French President Emmanuel Macron to deploy troops to Ukraine.

Le Pen, the leader of the National Rally party (RN), was convicted of embezzling over €4 million from the European Parliament from 2004 to 2016. She received a four-year prison sentence, with two years suspended, and a five-year ban from holding public office, effectively disqualifying her from the 2027 presidential election.

Le Pen has been a prominent critic of NATO’s policies in Eastern Europe and has opposed Ukraine’s accession to the military bloc. She has also advocated against the EU’s anti-Russia policies. In the 2022 presidential election, she advanced to a runoff against Macron, securing around 41.5% of the vote. Earlier this year,polls suggested that Le Pen would secure 61% of the vote against her main rival in the upcoming presidential election. (So there is cheating in France.)

The conviction of Le Pen and the disqualification of Georgescu occur amid an emergence of political movements across the EU opposed to the bloc’s policies.A number of French and foreign politicians have condemned the court’s ruling as undemocratic.

Network Rail trials revolutionary approach to aerial operations with British drone companies

Network Rail and partners Drone Major Limited and Dronecloud have begun trials of “beyond visual line of sight” aerial operations on the railway to test a concept that could bring major improvements for passengers and rail freight customers.

Beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drones have the technology to cover many more miles of track than their Visual Line of Sight equivalents, filling the gap between standard drones and the Network Rail helicopter*.

With delays from trespass becoming one of the most significant causes of disruption on the railway – with over 1.5 million minutes since April 2024 – drones offer a game-changing speed of response.

Similarly, the potential to survey the railway safely from above means Network Rail’s maintenance colleagues could be directed to potential faults quickly, rather than being forced to walk miles along the railway to find them, exposing them to risk and delaying any fixes.

Two trials are underway with the aim of establishing protocols for the safe operation of BVLOS drones on the network and achieve Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approval for their wider use.

In Birmingham, Network Rail’s Rail Operating Centre has a drone operations centre set up by Dronecloud to provide aerial coverage of the network around the city for incident response and general infrastructure monitoring.

Set up in partnership with drone operator RUAS alongside drone manufacturers Velos Motors & Evolve, the Operating Centre has CAA permission to cover a range of 10km in the area.

The service has already provided its worth after intervening in an incident at Birmingham New Street last year, saving passengers cumulatively hours of disruption by responding quickly.

While the system is being trialled, the drone has to be monitored visually by observers on its flights, although the operator remains at the control point.

Should CAA approval be received – hopefully later this year – the drone will be allowed to fly truly Beyond Visual Line of Sight.

Meanwhile, in Wolverhampton and on the private Severn Valley Railway, Drone Major and Network Rail are trialling a system called Digital Tethering™ to allow for BVLOS drone operations in areas with poor GPS/GNSS (Global Positioning System/Global Navigation Satellite System) coverage.

Both solutions offer faster response to operational incidents while assuring the safety of trains and people on the ground, and safety and privacy for lineside neighbours.

The aim is to gain CAA approval for both aspects so they can be offered to Network Rail regions for use on the railway.

Eric and Donald Trump Jr. have partnered with a cryptocurrency firm to start a major US-based Bitcoin-mining company

The Trumps have increasingly aligned themselves with the crypto industry through new ventures, investments, and public endorsements in recent months.

According to the WSJ, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. plan tomerge their company, American Data Centers, with a new mining venture called American Bitcoin, which is majority-owned by Hut 8, a publicly traded crypto infrastructure company.

The deal will reportedlygive the Trump brothers a 20% stake in the combined entity.

Eric, who will serve as American Bitcoin’s chief strategy officer, told the WSJ:“We are a hard-asset family,” adding, “My entire life has been spent building things, and I don’t think there is ever a better hedge against all of that than the true digital assets.”

Miami-based Hut 8 will transfer nearly 61,000 of its specialized mining machines to American Bitcoin in exchange for an 80% stake in the new company, according to the report. Hut 8 said in a press release on Monday that no cash changed hands in the deal.

American Bitcoin aims to become the world’s largest Bitcoin miner and build a strategic Bitcoin reserve, Hut 8 said.

Executives behind the venture saidthe plans are not connected to the US strategic crypto reserveestablished by President Trump earlier in March by executive order.

Once a crypto critic, Donald Trump changed his position during the 2024 presidential campaign, attracting significant industry support. Since returning to the White House, he has pledged to make the US the “crypto capital of the world” and to serve as a “crypto president.”

The administration of former President Joe Biden took a more “cautious approach”(?) to digital assets, supporting stricter regulations and greater oversight to curb fraud and money laundering. In recent months, the Trump family launched a decentralized finance project – World Liberty Financial – and said their social media company would invest in Bitcoin and other digital assets.They also announced plans for a dollar-backed stablecoin.

Overnight Drone Attack on Kharkiv Damages Civilian Infrastructure

In the early hours of March 31, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s. According to the city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhov, all enemy kamikaze drones targeted the city’s Kyivsky district.

The strikes caused fires, and emergency services are working at the scenes. As of 5:55 a.m., a sixth explosion had been reported – preliminarily, again in the same area.

Kharkiv is Ukraine’s second-largest city, located in the northeast of the country, approximately 40 kilometers from the Russian border.

It is a major industrial, scientific, and cultural hub that had a population of over 1.4 million people before the full-scale invasion.

In Kharkiv, two people suffered acute stress reactions and were provided with the necessary assistance, Terekhov reported.

The facade and windows of one educational facility were damaged, windowpanes in nearby high-rise buildings were shattered, and several private vehicles were affected.

“As a result of the blast wave, window glazing in nearby apartment buildings was damaged,” he said.

Russian forces regularly strike Ukrainian regions using various types of weaponry – including attack drones, missiles, guided aerial bombs (KABs), and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

Despite overwhelming evidence and documented cases of attacks on civilian infrastructure, the Russian leadership officially denies that its army deliberately targets civilian populations and infrastructure.

In reality, however, strikes often hit hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy facilities, water systems, and residential areas – resulting in civilian casualties and widespread destruction.

CDC Sounds the Alarm as Hospital Workers Struggle to Contain ‘Urgent Threat’ That Has a 30-60% Kill Rate

A drug-resistant fungus is on the rise in American hospitals, targeting patients who already reeling from illness.

New cases have been identified in Georgia and Florida hospitals, according to The Hill.

Candida auris has been in the U.S. since 2016, but cases have increased annually through 2023, the most recent year for which the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have data.

“We’ve had four people at one time on and off, over the past few months, and in years past, it was unusual to have one or even two people with Candida Auris in our hospital,” Dr. Timothy Connelly at Memorial Health in Savannah said, according to WJCL-TV.

JoAnna Wagner from the Georgia Department of Public Health said Georgia has had more than 1,300 cases through February.

The fungus spreads through medical equipment that enters the body, such as breathing tubes, feeding tubes, or catheters.

The kicker? Traditional cleaning solutions or disinfectants do not touch the fungus.

“Many of the disinfectants that are EPA-registered and historically used by hospitals and medical facilities are not effective against C. Auris,” Wagner said.

The CDC called Candida auris “an urgent antimicrobial resistance threat” in 2023, The Hill noted, and it is sounding the alarm again

“The rapid rise and geographic spread of cases is concerning and emphasizes the need for continued surveillance, expanded lab capacity, quicker diagnostic tests, and adherence to proven infection prevention and control,” Dr. Meghan Lyman, an epidemiologist with the CDC, said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“If you get infected with this pathogen that’s resistant to any treatment, there’s no treatment we can give you to help combat it. You’re all on your own,” Melissa Nolan, an assistant professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of South Carolina, said, according to Nexstar

Nolan said the fungus adapts to endure.

“It’s really good at just being, generally speaking, in the environment,” Nolan said.

At least six demonstrations drew crowds this weekend in the Seattle area, and all were prompted by what was considered a global "day of action" under an effort titled "Tesla Takedown." Protestors joined others across the globe in speaking out against Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his role in the U.S. government.

The impacts of this backlash, however, can also be seen in Washington’s economy. In King County, Tesla registrations were down 33% in February, according to Department of Licensing data obtained by The Seattle Times.

The latest numbers come as Teslas are being targeted by vandals across Western Washington. For example, someone intentionally set a Tesla on fire on Capitol Hill earlier this month, according to police. A couple of weeks prior, six Cybertrucks were vandalized with swastikas in the Lynnwood area, and shortly after in Centralia, a Tesla charging station was spray-painted with the words “Nazi cars.”The vandalism is among the reasons local Tesla owners are now considering switching lanes. Carter Rabasa, head of developer relations at DataStax in Seattle, is one of those Washington drivers.

India rejected NYT claims on sensitive exports to Russia

New Delhi has called the report “misleading and factually incorrect”

New Delhi has dismissed a report by the New York Times that alleged one of India’s largest defense and aerospace companies was involved in rerouting UK-made items to Russia. Indian government sources called the report “factually incorrect and misleading,” denying claims against Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a state-run giant that manufactures fighter jets, helicopters, jet engines, avionics, and various spares.

The report by The New York Times, published on Friday, claimed that British aerospace manufacturer H.R. Smith Group has shipped some equipment to HAL, which is also one of the largest trading partners of Russia’s Rosoboronexport agency, which has been sanctioned by the UK, US and EU since 2022, as a part of broader move by Western governments coming to cut Moscow off from global markets.

The report alleges, without providing any evidence, that HAL “in some instances” sends items imported from the UK firm to Russia. However, N.R. Smith denied this, and NYT itself noted in the report that “records do not prove that N.R. Smith’s products ended up in Russia.”

“The said report is factually incorrect and misleading. It has tried to frame issues and distort facts to suit a political narrative,” Indian government source said. He added that the Indian company mentioned in the report has “scrupulously followed all its international obligations on strategic trade controls and end-user commitments” and also underlined the strength of country’s legal system regarding trade in sensitive technologies.

“We expect reputed media outlets to undertake basic due diligence while publishing such reports, which obviously was overlooked in the instant case,” the sources added.

HAL has not commented publicly on the report at the time of publication. The company has in fact been one of Russia’s largest defense partners in India for decades. It has upgraded Russian-origin MiG-21 and MiG-29 aircrafts deployed by the Indian Air Force, and discussions are ongoing between New Delhi and Moscow on upgrading the Su-30 MKI. The Su-30MKI is the India-specific version of the Russian Su-30, which was brought into the Indian Air Force in 2002.

HAL has been manufacturing the Su-30MKIs since 2004 under a Russian license. As many as 222 aircraft have been produced at HAL’s Nashik factory (the Air Force today operates a fleet of total 260 Su-30MKIs).

This is not the first time Western media has alleged India’s role in supplying sensitive technologies and components to Russia. In October 2024, the administration of then-US President Joe Biden sanctioned four Indian companies for allegedly supplying “advanced components, including microelectronics, to Moscow. A State Department official then told Reuters that there has been a “rise” in exports of such goods from India to Russia, threatening action against companies “facilitating such activity.”

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, wants to know how lawmakers on Capitol Hill got “strangely wealthy” while earning modest public salaries, the New York Post reports.

Musk said one of the next priorities for his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will be to find out exactly how certain Congressmen and women achieved generational wealth, he told a town hall in Wisconsin Sunday night.

Asked if DOGE had found improper use of funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., or Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, Musk said funds could be sent via a purposely complicated route.

“They’ll [the government] send the money overseas to one NGO [non-governmental organization],” Musk replied. “Then they’ll go through a bunch of them, and then I’m highly confident that a bunch of that money then comes back to the United States and lands in the pockets of the people you just mentioned.”

“But it is a circuitous route. It doesn’t go directly,” continued Musk, who is worth $330 billion. “But let’s just say that there’s a lot of strangely wealthy members of Congress where I’m trying to connect the dots of, ‘How do they become rich?'”

Members of Congress make $174,000 annually, a salary that Musk believes the government should increase to fight corruption.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.), who has a net worth of about $250 million, is one of the wealthiest Congressional members and alumni.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Kentucky, has called Pelosi the “ultimate stock insider.”

Her wealth appears to have come primarily from investments by her and her venture capitalist husband Paul Pelosi in companies like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Netflix.

“How do they get $20 million if they’re earning $200,000 a year?” Musk added. “We’re going to try to figure it out and certainly stop it from happening.”

An armed man allegedly robbed two Amish buggies in western Pennsylvania, according to police.

Authorities received a report of an armed robbery on a road in Lackawannock Township in Mercer County at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday, according to information released Sunday by the Pennsylvania State Police Department.

One victim reported that "while in his buggy, a vehicle approached him from the front and stopped," police said in a statement. A male then approached the buggy, "pointed the firearm at him and demanded he give him his wallet," police said.

The buggy operator handed over his wallet and the suspect "got back into the vehicle and fled," police said.

The vehicle was described as a small black sedan and the suspect as a "white male wearing dark clothing and a medical mask," police said.

While officials were on the scene, a second victim reported a similar incident that occurred on a nearby road.

President Milei made the decision following a request from the US Senate Judiciary Committee

Argentine President Javier Milei ordered that all documents containing information on Nazis who fled to the country be declassified. The decision was made following a request from the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.

“President Milei instructed the release of all existing state documentation in any agency, because there is no reason to continue safeguarding that information,” Chief of Staff Francos said in an interview with the DNews TV channel. He clarified he was referring to “Nazis who came to Argentina to hide, and who were protected for many years.”

Last month, Milei met with the authorities of the U.S. Jewish human rights organization Simon Wiesenthal Center. In that meeting, they gave him a letter from Charles Grassley, the head of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. A copy of that same letter was also sent to United States President Donald Trump.

The letter requested the Argentine president’s “assistance and support with the Committee’s ongoing investigation into previously undisclosed and unknown Nazi assets at Credit Suisse and its predecessor banks, which are now under the leadership of UBS Group AG.”

The U.S. lawmakers stated that the bank held nearly 100 accounts linked to German Nazis and members of Nazi-linked groups in Argentina. In 2022, Credit Suisse said that it had conducted an internal investigation into this matter and not found any evidence. Senator Grassley, however, is contesting the bank’s statements.

A source in Francos’ office said that Argentina’s Defense Ministry holds most of the pertinent documentation. There are also financial documents that the government will share to reveal the alleged money movements. Spokesmen for the Defense Ministry and the presidency said that they did not have information on the matter.

After World War II finished in 1945, many German Nazis fled to the countries in the Americas, including Argentina. In 1999, a government commission found that at least 180 Nazi war criminals had migrated to Argentina. According to a 2002 book by journalist Uki Goñi, a former Herald staffer, then-President Juan Perón encouraged Nazi and fascist war criminals to make their home in Argentina.

In 1992, then-President Carlos Menem issued a decree declassifying information on German Nazis’ activity in Argentina. It is unclear if Milei’s decision will result in new documents being released.
