FBI returns property seized during Mar-a-Lago raid to Trump

The FBI is returning the property seized during the 2022 raid of Mar-a-Lago to President Trump, according to the White House.

“The FBI is giving the President his property back that was taken during the unlawful and illegal raids. We are taking possession of the boxes today and loading them onto Air Force One,” White House communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement on Friday.

Cheung added that some of the boxes were loaded onto the plane before Trump’s Friday flight back to Florida.

Alina Habba, the president’s counselor, said Friday that she loaded some of the “infamous” boxes herself onto Air Force 1.

“Justice has been and will continue to be restored in this country under President Trump. TRUTH AND JUSTICE ALWAYS WIN IN THE END. God Bless America,” she said in a Friday post on X.

The FBI took 33 boxes during the August 2022 court-authorized search of Mar-a-Lago as part of a probe into Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and alleged obstruction of officials’ efforts to get them back.

The raid prompted heavy criticism of the FBI by Trump and his allies. The president characterized it as unnecessary. He was contacted prior to the raid by the Justice Department (DOJ) and the National Archives to return the records.

Then-Attorney General Merrick Garland tapped Special Counsel Jack Smith to investigate whether Trump mishandled classified records. The case ended up being dismissed by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon in mid-July last year, saying in the ruling that Smith’s appointment was unconstitutional.

“The Special Counsel’s position effectively usurps that important legislative authority, transferring it to a Head of Department, and in the process threatening the structural liberty inherent in the separation of powers,” Cannon wrote in the 93-page ruling.

Trump said some of the boxes the DOJ gave back will be in his future presidential library.

“They [boxes] are being brought down to Florida and will someday be part of the Trump Presidential Library. Justice finally won out. I did absolutely nothing wrong. This was merely an attack on a political opponent that, obviously, did not work well,” he said Friday on Truth Social. “Justice in our Country will now be restored.”

Majority of US Republicans hostile to Zelensky – poll

56% of GOP respondents now view the Ukrainian leader unfavorably, up from 40% last week, an Economist/YouGov survey indicates

Attitudes among US Republicans toward Vladimir Zelensky have soured significantly as the Ukrainian leader has come under a barrage of criticism from President Donald Trump, according to a new Economist/YouGov poll.

The survey, which was released on Thursday, indicated that the unfavorable perception of Zelensky among GOP respondents rose from 40% to 56% in just one week. The trend comes after Trump suggested that Kiev could have avoided the conflict with Russia and also branded the Ukrainian leader a “dictator without elections.” Later, however, Trump denied having made any statements about Zelensky being a “dictator.”

Zelensky’s presidential term ended last May, but he refused to hold new elections, citing the ongoing martial law. Russia deems him illegitimate and insists that legal power in Ukraine now lies with the parliament.

Meanwhile, 47% of Republicans side with Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, down five points from last week. Overall, 58% of Americans continue to side with Kiev in the hostilities.

Meanwhile, 47% of Americans currently view Trump favorably, compared with 50% who view him unfavorably.

Regarding perceptions of international relations, thepoll indicates that 40% of Americans view Russia as an ally or friendly nation, while 38% consider it unfriendly or an enemy. The European Union is seen favorably by 35%, while 36% view it unfavorably. China is perceived as an ally or friendly by 16% of respondents, whereas 64% regard it as unfriendly or an enemy, according to the survey.

The Economist/YouGov poll was conducted among 1,604 USadult citizens from February 23 to 25.(that's interesting)

The survey was released as the US and Russia have begun holding talks paving the way for the restoration of bilateral ties and settlement of the Ukraine conflict. Both sides have touted the engagement as productive. Meanwhile, Zelensky is expected to sign a deal with the US granting the latter access to Ukraine’s vast deposits of mineral resources to compensate Washington for past military aid.

The Ukrainian leader has acknowledged that the US will not provide Kiev with security guarantees as part of this agreement, which has been one of Kiev’s key requests. However, an Economist report claimed that Zelensky does not intend to sign any further agreement with the US on the matter unless the guarantees are explicitly addressed.

Although Hunter Biden got away with multiple crimes thanks to his father’s unprecedented pardon, he still faces punishment for his conduct before the District of Columbia Bar. Even presidential clemency cannot shield him from possible suspension of his law license.

But former President Biden’s pardon has muddled – and delayed – the process of deciding Hunter’s professional fate, according to the D.C. attorney who is leading the investigation into his fitness to practice law in the nation’s capital. And legal critics view this as favoritism possibly leading to a resolution short of disbarment.

“This is a very complicated situation because of the pardon,” Hamilton Fox of the bar's Office of Disciplinary Counsel said in an interview with RealClearInvestigations. Fox serves as the prosecutor in disciplinary cases for members of the D.C. Bar.

With Biden’s firearms and tax-evasion convictions wiped clean, Fox said, he and his investigators have to “prove” all over again that he violated the law before they can pursue a case against him for possible disbarment.

"Essentially, there is a process that we follow once there is a criminal conviction, but the pardon disrupted that process,” Fox explained. "After the pardon, there is no criminal conviction, but the misconduct that occurred doesn’t go away. So now we are required to start over.”

Added Fox: “Instead of relying on the conviction, we have to follow the normal procedure and prove the misconduct.”

After a jury in Delaware found Biden guilty of three gun-related felonies last June, his license was automatically suspended because any felony is considered a “serious crime” under D.C. Bar rules. But his suspension is temporary pending an investigation to determine if his criminal acts were serious enough to meet the bar’s “moral turpitude”threshold for more severe and lasting punishment, including long-term suspension or even disbarment.

Such misconduct generally requires criminal intent or recklessness. Offenses involving “violence,” such as reckless use of firearms, and “dishonesty,” such as cheating on taxes, fall into this category.

On Dec. 1, two weeks before Biden was scheduled for sentencing in both the gun case and a felony tax conviction in California, his father issued a blanket pardon nullifying his guilt and sparing him expected prison time.

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, who has refused to hold new elections since his presidential term expired last year, has dismissed calls to step down, in an interview with Fox News following his contentious White House visit on Friday.​

US President Donald Trump’s meeting with Zelensky at the White House earlier in the day escalated into a heated argument, with Trump telling Zelensky he is “in no position to dictate”and accusing him of failing to show gratitude to the American people for the aid Washington has provided to Kiev.​

The spectacle led many critics to question whether Zelensky could ever regain the reputation of a reliable partner.Even the notoriously pro-Kiev US Senator Lindsey Graham, who has visited Ukraine to meet with Zelensky on multiple occasions over the years,said the Ukrainian leader has crossed a line with his behavior.​

“What I saw in the Oval Office was disrespectful, and I don’t know if we can ever do business with Zelensky again,” Graham told reporters. “He either needs to resign and send somebody over that we can do business with, or he needs to change.”​

Fox News host Bret Baier pressed Zelensky on whether he would consider the senator’s suggestion and resign.​

“I don’t know if he will be happy after my words: This decision can do only people of Ukraine [sic],” Zelensky replied.When pressed again on whether he would resign to allow for a peace deal in the Ukraine conflict, Zelensky dismissed the idea.​

“I was always ready... I’m not sure that is a good idea for such proposes [sic],” he said, adding, “Americans vote for American president... Only Ukrainians vote for their president.”

Zelensky’s five-year presidential term concluded in May 2024, but he has refused to hold new elections, citing martial law.​

Trump recently labeled Zelensky a “dictator without elections” with a “4% approval rating.”​

After Friday’s disastrous White House meeting,Trump told the press that he believes Zelensky is more focused on tying the US down to long-term military supportfor Ukraine than on achieving a peace deal.​

“We’re looking for peace. We’re not looking for somebody that’s going to sign up a strong power and then not make peace because they feel emboldened,” Trump said.“We’re not looking to go into a 10-year war... This is a man that wants to get us signed up and keep fighting.”​

Russian President Vladimir Putin said this week that Zelensky would stand “absolutely no chance” of winning a new election unless it was “grossly rigged.” Moscow has also stressed that any deal between Russia and Ukraine signed by Zelensky would be of questionable legal validity due to his expired presidential mandate.

The Ukrainian leader was caught on a hot mic apparently cursing at the US vice president

Multiple social media users have claimed that Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky was overheard swearing in Russian during a heated exchange with US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance in the Oval Office.​

Zelensky’s visit to the White House on Friday was abruptly cut short after his meeting with Trump and Vance devolved into a shouting match in front of the media. The two US officials accused the Ukrainian leader of “gambling with World War III” due to his reluctance to negotiate peace with Russia, and of being disrespectful and ungrateful for the substantial military aid provided to Kiev by Washington.​

During the intense discussion, Vance highlighted Ukraine’s challenges in conscripting additional troops and suggested that Ukraine should be “thanking” Trump for efforts to resolve the conflict between Moscow and Kiev.​

In response, Zelensky questioned how the vice president could understand Ukraine’s issues without having visited the country.​

Vance replied that foreign leaders visiting Kiev are subjected to “propaganda tours”orchestrated by the government.​

Footage from the meeting shows Zelensky at one point looking away during Vance’s remarks and muttering a few words to himself, with his microphone still on.​

France and the UK would make great allies against a “predatory” Trump, Chrystia Freeland has said

Former Canadian deputy PM and foreign minister, Chrystia Freeland, has called on Ottawa to turn to European nuclear powers for deterrence against a “predatory” United States. Freeland made the suggestion on Wednesday during debates for the leadership of the country's Liberal Party.

The former FT Moscow correspondent, who is seeking to succeed Justin Trudeau following the party's recent electoral slump, characterized recent comments by US President Donald Trump, in which he questioned Canada's statehood, as a national security threat.

”What is different about this unleashed and empowered President Trump is he is clearly threatening our sovereignty and we need to respond,” she said. “The US is turning predator, and so what Canada needs to do is work closely with our democratic allies, our military allies.”

Freeland, whose grandfather, Michael Chomiak, was the Ukrainian editor of a Nazi-controlled newspaper during World War II, has been a vocal supporter of Ukraine and was once tipped for the NATO chief position.

”I would start with our Nordic partners, specifically Denmark which is also being threatened, and our European NATO allies,” she told the debate, referring to Trump’s controversial offer to purchase Greenland.

”I would be sure that France and Britain were there who possess nuclear weapons, and I would be working urgently with those partners to build a closer security relationship that guarantees our security in a time when the United States can be a threat,” Freeland explained.

Trump’s remarks, along with those of others such as government efficiency czar Elon Musk, have fueled rising anti-US sentiment across Canada. In Toronto, for instance, some coffee shops have rebranded the Americano as ‘Canadiano’ as a form of protest.

Canada is set to vone for a new government this year. Freeland, whose resignation from Trudeau’s cabinet last December is widely regarded as a catalyst for his decision to resign, is competing against three other candidates to lead the party.

A seasoned foreign policy hawk, Freeland has criticized Trudeau for not taking Trump’s threats seriously, including potential trade tariffs.

If you use the uBlock Origin extension in Google Chrome or Edge, you should probably start looking for alternative browsers or extensions—either way. A few days ago, users noticed that Google had begun disabling uBlock Origin and other Manifest V2-based extensions as part of the migration to Manifest V3. Now, Microsoft Edge appears to be following suit.

The latest Edge Canary version started disabling Manifest V2-based extensions with the following message: "This extension is no longer supported. Microsoft Edge recommends that you remove it." Although the browser turns off old extensions without asking, you can still make them work by clicking "Manage extension" and toggling it back (you will have to acknowledge another prompt).

At this point, it is not entirely clear what is going on. Google started phasing out Manifest V2 extensions in June 2024, and it has a clear roadmap for the process. Microsoft's documentation, however, still says "TBD," so the exact dates are not known yet. This leads to some speculating about the situation being one of "unexpected changes" coming from Chromium. Either way, sooner or later, Microsoft will ditch MV2-based extensions, so get ready as we wait for Microsoft to shine some light on its plans.

Another thing worth noting is that the change does not appear to be affecting Edge's stable release or Beta/Dev Channels. For now, only Canary versions disable uBlock Origin and other MV2 extensions, leaving users a way to toggle them back on. Also, the uBlock Origin is still available in the Edge Add-ons store, which recently received a big update.

In August 2024, when Google started flagging uBlock Origin as unsupported, the extension's maker stepped in and recommended users switch to uBlock Origin Lite, a Manifest V3-based extension, and accept some of its limitations. Another option is to switch to Firefox. Mozilla recently announced its plans to keep Manifest V2 extensions working, including uBlock Origin, based on Mozilla Manifesto, which claims that "individuals must have the ability to shape the internet and their own experiences on it."

Now, users can either switch to a browser that still supports MV2 extensions or move to MV3-based ad blockers. Of course, not all MV2 extensions have "more modern" versions, so for many, switching to Firefox or another browser with MV2 support will be the only option to keep old extensions working.

The Holy Father was promptly subjected to bronchial aspiration (to clear his airways) and was put on non-invasive mechanical ventilation, which improved his oxygen levels.

He has remained alert and aware at all times, cooperating with therapeutic treatments.

The plane of President Volodymyr Zelensky is currently en route to London flight tracking platform FlightAware reports.

The plane is due to land at London's Stansted Airport at 11 a.m. local time.

Zelensky confirmed that he will travel to London after his visit to the United States during a press conference on Feb. 26. He's set to take part in a summit with European leaders hosted by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss joint defense and security plans on Sunday.

A statement from Starmer on Friday night confirmed that he had spoken with the U.S. and Ukrainian presidents after their clash in the White House, BBC reported. According to the report, Starmer retains "unwavering support for Ukraine."

President Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump's press briefing in the Oval Office on Feb. 28 ended in a heated argument about American aid to Ukraine, followed by the canceling of the planned signing of the U.S.-Ukraine mineral agreement.

The January wildfires in California devastated local habitats and communities. In an effort to better understand wildfire behavior, NASA scientists and engineers tried to learn from the events by testing new technology.

The new instrument, the Compact Fire Infrared Radiance Spectral Tracker (c-FIRST), was tested when NASA’s B200 King Air aircraft flew over the wildfires in the Pacific Palisades and Altadena, California.

Based at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California, the aircraft used the c-FIRST instrument to observe the impacts of the fires in near real-time.

Due to its small size and ability to efficiently simulate a satellite-based mission, the B200 King Air is uniquely suited for testing c-FIRST.

Managed and operated by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, c-FIRST gathers thermal infrared images in high-resolution and other data about the terrain to study the impacts of wildfires on ecology.

In a single observation, c-FIRST can capture the full temperature range across a wide area of wildland fires – as well as the cool, unburned background – potentially increasing both the quantity and quality of science data produced.

“Currently, no instrument is able to cover the entire range of attributes for fires present in the Earth system,” said Sarath Gunapala, principal investigator for c-FIRST at NASA JPL.

“This leads to gaps in our understanding of how many fires occur, and of crucial characteristics like size and temperature.”

For decades, the quality of infrared images has struggled to convey the nuances of high-temperature surfaces above 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit (550 degrees Celsius).

Blurry resolution and light saturation of infrared images has inhibited scientists’ understanding of an extremely hot terrain, and thereby also inhibited wildfire research.

Historically, images of extremely hot targets often lacked the detail scientists need to understand the range of a fire’s impacts on an ecosystem.

To address this, NASA’s Earth Science Technology Office supported JPL’s development of the c-FIRST instrument, combining state-of-the-art imaging technology with a compact and efficient design.

When c-FIRST was airborne, scientists could detect smoldering fires more accurately and quickly, while also gathering important information on active fires in near real-time.

“These smoldering fires can flame up if the wind picks up again,” said Gunapala. “Therefore, the c-FIRST data set could provide very important information for firefighting agencies to fight fires more effectively.”

For instance, c-FIRST data can help scientists estimate the likelihood of a fire spreading in a certain landscape, allowing officials to more effectively monitor smoldering fires and track how fires evolve.

Furthermore, c-FIRST can collect detailed data that can enable scientists to understand how an ecosystem may recover from fire events.

“The requirements of the c-FIRST instrument meet the flight profile of the King Air,” said KC Sujan, operations engineer for the B200 King Air.

"The c-FIRST team wanted a quick integration, the flight speed in the range 130 and 140 knots on a level flight, communication and navigation systems, and the instruments power requirement that are perfectly fit for King Air’s capability.”

By first testing the instrument onboard the B200 King Air, the c-FIRST team can evaluate its readiness for future satellite missions investigating wildfires.

On a changing planet where wildfires are increasingly common, instruments like c-FIRST could provide data that can aid firefighting agencies to fight fires more effectively, and to understand the ecosystemic impacts of extreme weather events.

China is building a space station, the only catch being that it won't be actually in space but underwater.

The government has approved the plans for this highly ambitious project where a "deep-sea space station" would be built around 6,500 feet underwater.

The station is expected to become operational by 2030, and is touted to be one of the most technologically complex installations ever made by humans, South China Morning Post reported.

Oceans still remain a mystery despite scientific advancements. Exploring the vast water world requires humans to spend a considerable amount of time in the sea which has not been possible yet.

This is where China's deep-sea space station comes into the picture.

To be built over 6,500 feet below sea level, the station will be able to house six researchers for up to a month.

This will allow them to carry out experiments, and explore the oceans and the hidden regions that remain out of reach.

Focus of deep-sea space station

Researchers spending time on the deep-sea space station will target their efforts mainly towards one particular area - cold seeps.

These are places on the ocean floor from where hydrocarbon or methane-rich fluids seep upwards.

These cold seeps create a gaseous environment which is primarily responsible for the sustenance of deep-sea species.

Studying these regions can also prove helpful in identifying renewable energy solutions. Life forms that exist around the cold seeps can also help with the dangerous oil spills.

Scientists seek to understand how these microorganisms can help break down the oil spills, thus preventing other ocean life from being harmed.

Monitoring cold seeps from a deep-sea space station will help reach the goals better since being in a permanent space will let scientists conduct lengthier experiments underwater and consistently analyse cold seeps, besides letting them in on tectonic activity and ecological changes.

According to the website Oceanographic, China is aiming for a four-pronged advancement in this area, combining unscrewed submersibles, ships, and seabed observatories for better results.

South China Sea and political issues

However, political reasons might make China's task difficult since it plans to build this space station in the volatile South China Sea. Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines claim several parts of the sea, which might delay the process of construction.

SpaceX gets FAA approval for Flight 8 of Starship megarocket

SpaceX now has permission to launch its Starship megarocket for the eighth time.

Elon Musk's company is targeting Monday evening (March 3) for Flight 8 of Starship, which will lift off from Starbase in South Texas, near the border city of Brownsville.

That date had been a bit fuzzy for some time, as the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had not given its approval for the launch until now.

"The FAA issued a license modification authorizing the SpaceX Starship Flight 8 launch," FAA officials said in an emailed statement today (Feb. 28).

"The FAA determined SpaceX met all safety, environmental and other licensing requirements for the suborbital test flight."

Starship last launched on Jan. 16, for a test flight that was partially successful.

The company managed to catch the vehicle's giant first-stage booster, known as Super Heavy, using the "chopstick" arms of Starbase's launch tower.

But Starship's upper stage suffered a propellant leak and exploded over the Atlantic Ocean, bringing a premature end to the mission.

The FAA is overseeing the SpaceX-led investigation into the Flight 7 anomaly, which is ongoing despite the newly granted approval.

"After completing the required and comprehensive safety review, the FAA determined the SpaceX Starship vehicle can return to flight operations while the investigation into the Jan. 16 Starship Flight 7 mishap remains open," the FAA's emailed statement reads.

Flight 8 is scheduled to lift off on Monday during a window that opens at 6:30 p.m. EST (2330 GMT; 5:30 p.m. local Texas time). You'll be able to watch the action live here at Space.com.

Flight 8's goals are similar to those of Flight 7. SpaceX will try for another Super Heavy booster catch, and Starship's upper stage, known as Ship, will travel much of the way around Earth before splashing down in the Indian Ocean off Western Australia.

Ship will attempt to deploy four payloads — mock versions of SpaceX's Starlink broadband satellites — on its suborbital trajectory.

The upper stage carried 10 dummy Starlinks on Flight 7 but never got the chance to eject them into space.

Three aircraft have reportedly violated the airspace above Palm Beach, Florida, right above where President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort is located.

Three civilian planes were escorted out of the area by F-16 fighter jets that had to be scrambled by North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), reported Todd Starnes, a host on the conservative outlet Newsmax.

During two of the intercepts, the fighter jets reportedly had to deploy flares. However, all three civilian fliers were safely nudged out of Palm Beach airspace.

DailyMail.com approached NORAD for comment on the situation.

Based on Starnes' reporting, the incidents occurred at 11:05am, 12:10pm and 12:50pm.

It's not clear under what circumstances these planes flew into Palm Beach airspace, but these kinds of scenarios have been happening quite frequently over the last week or so.

FBI accuses North Korea of largest crypto hack in history

State-linked hackers stole $1.5 billion from Bybit, the agency believes, though Pyongyang previously denied similar theft allegations

North Korea is responsible for the theft of around $1.5 billion in virtual assets from the Dubai-based Bybit cryptocurrency exchange, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation claimed on Wednesday. The heist, which was reported last week, is believed to be the largest crypto hack in history.

While the FBI did not attribute the hack to a specific North Korean group, it said the attackers used something called ‘TraderTraitor’, a set of malicious cryptocurrency applications that trick victims into installing malware under the guise of job offers. Once installed, the malware allows hackers to compromise financial systems and steal funds.

The agency claimed that the hackers quickly began converting portions of the stolen assets into Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, dispersing them across thousands of addresses on multiple blockchains. The alleged North Korean perpetrators are expected to later launder the funds and convert them into fiat currency to evade detection, the statement read.

Bybit, an exchange serving over 60 million users, said the breach occurred during a routine transfer between digital wallets. According to the exchange, hackers exploited the process of transferring funds from an offline storage system to a hot wallet used for trading, stealing around 401,000 Ethereum tokens (worth $1.5 billion) and funneling them to an unknown address.

Bybit said the hack was a “sophisticated attack that masked the signing interface, displaying the correct address while altering the underlying smart contract logic.”

The company stated that it had received more than 350,000 withdrawal requests, warning that it could lead to delays in processing. It also called on cybersecurity and blockchain forensics experts to help recover the stolen funds, offering a 10% reward on any amount recovered.

Western intelligence agencies have long accused North Korea of using cyberattacks to fund its weapons programs and evade international sanctions. The Lazarus Group, one of the alleged North Korean hacking units, has been linked to previous cryptocurrency heists, including the $620 million Ronin Network hack in 2022.

While North Korea has yet to comment on the FBI’s allegations, it has previously denied accusations that it is involved in crypto theft, suggesting they are aimed at tarnishing the country’s image.

Elon Musk made an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience this week, and the left is freaking out because he called out the Social Security Administration as the “biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.” The Tesla billionaire claimed the system is unsustainable and will only make America’s financial future “much worse.”

“Elon, let me explain this to you,” the newly-elected DNC chairman Ken Martin said in a post on X. “Social Security keeps millions of American seniors out of poverty. You’re a billionaire who’ll never need it. A Ponzi scheme is a type of investment fraud. And who knows more about being a fraud than you?”

“Tell the 80 million Americans who worked hard to earn Social Security and depend on their benefits that it’s a Ponzi scheme,” whined Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) “Democrats will fight tooth and nail to protect Social Security.”

“Social Security is not a Ponzi scheme it’s a promise that every American pays into so they can retire with dignity,” Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) opined. “Get loud and tell Elon Musk to keep his hands OFF social security.”

“This guy is a leech on the public. No matter how many billions he gets in tax cuts and government contracts, it will never be enough for him,” lamented Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). “Now he’s going after the elderly, the disabled, and orphaned children so he can pocket it in tax cuts for himself. It’s disgusting.”

Was Musk attacking the elderly? Of course not. I’m sure they didn’t even listen to Musk’s explanation for why Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.

A Ponzi scheme, of course, is a fraudulent investment scam where returns are paid to earlier investors using the capital from newer investors, rather than legitimate profits. It collapses when new investments dry up.

Social Security operates on a pay-as-you-go basis, where current workers’ payroll taxes fund the benefits of current retirees. This structure depends on a continuous influx of new workers to maintain solvency, which is very similar to a Ponzi scheme, which also relies on new investors to pay returns to earlier ones. The key difference, of course, is that Social Security is a government-mandated program. Despite these distinctions, demographic shifts, such as increased life expectancy and lower birth rates, have led to fewer workers supporting more retirees, straining the system’s sustainability. Without reforms, Social Security will inevitably struggle to meet its future obligations, echoing the eventual collapse characteristic of Ponzi schemes.

And that’s exactly Musk’s point.

“Social Security is the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time,” Musk said. “People pay into Social Security, and the money goes out of Social Security immediately. But the obligation for Social Security is your entire retirement career.”

According to Musk, the math simply doesn’t add up. “If you look at the future obligations of Social Security, it far exceeds the tax revenue,” he warned, adding that the country’s debt will effectively double because of these liabilities.

“Have you ever looked at the debt clock?” he asked. “There’s our present-day debt, but then there’s our future obligations. So, when you look at the future obligations of Social Security, the actual national debt is like double what people think it is because of future obligations.”

Musk also pointed out a demographic crisis fueling the problem. “Basically, people are living way longer than expected, and there are fewer babies being born, so you have more people who are retired and that live for a long time and get retirement payments,” he told Rogan.

Yesterday, Susan Rice said of the Trump-Zelensky meeting, "There is no question this was a set up." She revealed full knowledge of the mineral agreement, complained that it didn't include "concrete" security agrees (meaning, apparently, commitment of US troops on the ground if conditions merit), and then mischaracterized Trump's behavior, counting on most Americans to not have watched what transpired over the entire hour in the Oval Office.

You can look at this and dismiss it as typical Democrat talking points, but you could also view it as almost a confession, one that includes details about the current "Get Trump" effort.

Yes, Trump won the popular vote against unbelievable odds, but if you think Team Obama is being any less involved in quiet insurrections than they were during the first Trump administration (Russia collusion, Ukraine impeachment, etc.), you're clueless. I'll remind you that Susan Rice was in the small Jan. 5, 2017 meeting in the WH with other key Russia collusion hoax perpetrators.

Zelensky repeatedly declined opportunities to sign the deal in Kyiv and Munich, and requested the meeting at the White House. It later came out that Rice and Tony Blinken, Victoria Nuland, and Alexander Vindman may have been personally advising Zelensky to do this meeting in the way he did - that they recommended him to be hostile and to try to goad Trump into blowing up. Even though he didn't, and even though Zelensky's actions horrified many normal Americans, the Obama team went on the airwaves to falsely characterize what happened.

I think their goal was to have a wonderful performance by Zelensky, an angry Trump appearing to scuttle the deal, and the support of the neocon portion of the GOP to start applying pressure on Trump to have US Troop commitments as part of the "security guarantee." It was a set-up, in Susan Rice's interesting choice of words.

Instead, Zelensky had one of the worst stage performances of his acting career, and Trump was statesmanlike (against all odds) throughout. Zelensky followed Team Obama's advice to be hostile to a tee, but it didn't land how they thought it would. Surprisingly, one of the most important aspects of it not working out might have been Lindsay Graham's reaction. Had he and other neocons thought Zelensky was being reasonable, Trump would be having to fight (even moreso) the neocon portion of the GOP in addition to Team Obama's dirty tricks. Even the "conservative" neocon pundits on TV last night were admitting Zelensky had royally messed up.

As you can see from the hostility of the bureaucracy to any Republican oversight, no matter how reasonable or minor it may be, the entrenched bureaucracy and permanent DC apparatus is quite active. That goes quadruple for the deep state in the Intelligence Community. I'd expect more and more shenanigans and to be prepared so that you don't fall for the next information operation. The post-WWII architecture in Europe and the US needs this war to continue or be settled on "US troops on the ground" type guarantees, even though that's not what Americans want.

Things will heat up here, and it's a very dangerous time.

Russia has repeatedly highlighted the Ukrainian leader’s “inadequacy” and inability to negotiate, according to the Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky’s recent visit to Washington was a “complete political and diplomatic failure” for Kiev, according to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

Her comments follow a tense meeting between Zelensky, US President Donald Trump, and Vice President J.D. Vance at the White House on Friday, which ended abruptly without a planned minerals agreement being signed. During a heated exchange in the Oval Office, Zelensky resisted Trump’s demand to negotiate peace with Moscow, leading Trump to accuse him of ingratitude, “gambling with World War III,” and an unwillingness to end the conflict.

On Saturday, Zakharova criticized Zelensky’s “outrageously boorish behavior” in Washington, stating thathis actions confirmed “he is the most dangerous threat to the world communityas an irresponsible warmonger.” She emphasized that Moscow has repeatedly highlighted Zelensky’s “inadequacy,” corruption, and inability to negotiate.

“Everyone should realize how unambiguous such outburstsfrom the terrorist leader sound, “she said in a statement on Telegram. Following the spat, EU nations, including France, Germany and Poland rushed to defend the Ukrainian leader and expressed their support for Kiev.

The failed meeting has raised concerns about future US support for Ukraine. Zelensky’s visit was initially intended to finalize a deal granting the US access to Ukraine’s minerals, including rare-earths. The collapse of the talks has left the agreement in limbo.

CIA Proxy Agency Confirms Its Funding Has Been Suspended, Forcing It To "Halt All Partner Support"

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a US-funded organization that meddles in elections and pushes regime change around the world in the name of spreading democracy, has confirmed reports that its funding from the US government has been frozen, forcing it to suspend operations.

“The [NED] is currently unable to access its Congressionally appropriated funds, which sustain nearly all of its grantmaking and operations. As a result, for the first time in the organization’s four-decade history, it has been unable to meet its obligations and has been forced to suspend support for nearly 2,000 partners worldwide,” the NED said in a statement on Tuesday.

While the NED presents itself as an “independent” organization, it is nearly entirely funded by the US government, which it acknowledged in the statement. The NED claimed that its funding should have been exempt from the Trump administration’s pause on foreign aid.

“Ninety-five percent of NED’s funding is directly appropriated by Congress and is not considered foreign assistance. This funding therefore was not subject to the executive order freezing foreign assistance for a ninety-day review. However, despite being exempt, access to these funds has been inexplicably cut off, forcing NED to halt all partner support and furlough the majority of its staff,” the NED said.

The NED, which was founded during the Cold War in 1983, received $315 million from the US government for the 2025 fiscal year. In 1991, Allen Weinstein, a co-founder of NED, acknowledged to The Washington Post that a lot of what the organization did was done “covertly 25 years ago by the CIA.”

The Ukrainian leader’s failure at Friday’s meeting with Donald Trump has highlighted that he is an “impediment to peace” and has to be removed, John Kiriakou has told RT

Vladimir Zelensky is done as the leader of Ukraineand should be removed, journalist and former CIA analyst John Kiriakou told RT, commenting on the verbal spat between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday.

The meeting became heated when Zelensky resisted Trump’s demand to negotiate peace with Russia, leading the latter to accuse him of ingratitude and an unwillingness to end the conflict. Consequently, Zelensky left the White House prematurely, without signing an agreement that would have granted the US rights to Ukraine’s natural resources. The planned joint press conference was canceled.

“For all intents and purposes,Zelensky is done. I wouldn’t be surprised if in three months Zelensky is living in London or some such place,” Kiriakou said on Friday. He noted that Zelensky, who, citing martial law, refused to step down after his presidential mandate ended last year, will “have to be removed” because he “continues to be an impediment to peace.”

“You know, they’ve got this provision in the Ukrainian constitution where they don’t have to have elections during a time of martial law...Maybe it’s time to take a second look at that, get him out, and elect somebody who can negotiate in good faith with the Russian government,” the analyst suggested.

Kiriakou noted that without the support of Washington, which Kiev effectively lost when Zelensky antagonized Trump on Friday,the Ukraine conflict can be considered “over.”

“[Zelensky] can’t rely on NATO… if the US pulls out. And it looks very much that the US is in the process now of pulling out.The conflict is over. It’s done. This is today’s reality,” he stated.

Zelensky has previously dismissed the possibility of stepping down. In an interview with Fox News following the meeting with Trump, he responded to a call from US Senator Lindsey Graham “to resign and send somebody over that we can do business with.” Zelensky stated he won’t do that unless asked by the Ukrainian people. According to Kiriakou, losing the support of such a pro-Kiev figure as Graham is yet another sign that Zelensky time at the helm is over, as is the conflict itself.

“In the US Congress, we have workhorses and we have show horses.And Lindsey Graham is a show horse. So when you’ve lost Lindsey Graham, you’ve lost the war. [It] is a message to Vladimir Zelensky that it’s time to just stop,” the analyst said.

Under a new law, Moscow would provide nuclear defense for Minsk in case of attack

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ratified a security treaty with Belarus, reinforcing military ties between the two nations within the Union State andintegrating Minsk into Moscow’s nuclear deterrence strategy.

The treaty – which was signed into law on Friday after being agreed on in December at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State in Minsk –commits both countries to defend each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It also allows for the potential use of Russian nuclear weapons to protect Belarus in case of aggression.

Top Russian Senator Valentina Matvienko said the agreement is crucial given the current geopolitical tensions.

The treaty, which includes provisions against unilateral sanctions, isset to last for ten years, with automatic extensions.

A key provision allows for the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. Russia has already stationed ballistic missiles in the country as part of their Union State partnership. Under the agreement, Belarus could request their use if deemed necessary. Both countries consider Russia’s nuclear arsenal a deterrent against threats,to be used only as a last resort.

Following the signing of the treaty, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko requested the deployment of Russian Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missiles. The new systems, which feature a hypersonic upper stage, could be stationed in Belarus in the second half of 2025, according to Putin.

The Oreshnik was unveiled last year and tested in Ukraine, where it was used to strike the Yuzhmash military industrial facility in Dnepr in November.

“The treaty’s provisions will safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity, particularly given provocations from EU countries bordering Belarus,” senior MP Vyacheslav Volodin said.

Russia and Belarus have also announced they will hold the Zapad 2025 joint military exercise in September, involving more than 13,000 troops. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has been invited to observe.
