Founder of investment firm, 46, plunges to death from NYC rooftop bar

Two people at the rooftop bar told police that the man jumped off the building, sources said. One woman called 911 saying she heard a loud noise.

The death is being investigated as a suspected suicide, an NYPD spokesperson said

Law enforcement sources told The Post that police were called to his home twice in 2008 over domestic disputes with his wife. One of the arguments was over finances.

Court records show that the couple had filed for divorce on Tuesday.

Sources said the man was a founder and partner at a Connecticut-based investment company.

“We are truly heartbroken at the situation that occurred this evening outside our rooftop bar, and we are keeping the victim’s family and friends in our thoughts and hearts,” Tom Blundell, the general manager of Hyatt Centric Times Square, said in a statement.

“We are working closely with local authorities. The safety and wellbeing of all our colleagues, hotel guests and Bar 54 guests remains a top priority, and at this time, as a result of this tragic incident, we will keep the door to the bar’s outdoor space locked at all times,” Blundell said through a spokesperson.

This is the second time in less than four months a person plunged from the same hotel bar.(Bar 54)

In October, aspiring model Elizabeth Gaglewski, of Queens, fell from Bar 54 before hitting a 27th-floor balcony, the NYPD said. Staff tried to swoop in and stop the 26-year-old woman from falling as she stood on the ledge, sources told The Post in October.

Gaglewski was remembered as “sweet and loving” by family.

“She was just a good person, a sweet and loving, caring kid,” her uncle Tony Smith told The Post last year.

A California judge issued a preliminary injunction against a state law that empowers the Medical Board of California to discipline physicians who support opinions about COVID-19 that are not in line with the "consensus," according to reports.

The law, known as Assembly Bill 2098, was set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2023. Under the law, the Medical Board of California and the Osteopathic Medical Board of California could discipline physicians who "disseminate" information about COVID that is not in line with the "contemporary scientific consensus."

But in November, a group of five California physicians filed a lawsuit against California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration, saying the law violates their First Amendment rights and constitutional right to due process.

Aaron Kheriaty, MD, is listed as one of the physicians in the lawsuit, and on Wednesday he posted on Twitter that a judge granted their request for a preliminary injunction against AB 2098.

The preliminary injunction temporarily halts the implementation of the law while the case is tried in court.

US lawmakers push nationwide TikTok ban

GOP Senator Josh Hawley has dubbed the video-sharing app “China’s backdoor into Americans’ lives”

Republicans in the House and Senate have introduced legislation seeking to ban TikTok on all devices in the United States and prohibit transactions with its Chinese parent company, ByteDance – claiming it represents a major national security threat.

Senator Josh Hawley and Representative Ken Buck unveiled the ‘No TikTok on United States Devices Act’ on Wednesday, hoping to build in prior legislation which has already barred the app from some government computers.

“TikTok poses a threat to all Americans who have the app on their devices. It opens the door for the Chinese Communist Party to access Americans’ personal information, keystrokes, and location through aggressive data harvesting,” Hawley said. “Banning it on government devices was a step in the right direction, but now is the time to ban it nationwide to protect the American people.”

The bill would invoke the president’s authorities under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, a law which allows the White House to intervene in commerce during a national emergency. US entities that continue to do business with ByteDance would be subject to penalties under the proposed legislation.

TikTok spokesperson Brooke Oberwetter was critical of the bill, saying it “takes a piecemeal approach to national security and a piecemeal approach to broad industry issues like data security, privacy, and online harms.”

“We hope that [Hawley] will focus his energies on efforts to address those issues holistically, rather than pretending that banning a single service would solve any of the problems he’s concerned about or make Americans any safer,” the spokesperson added.

While Hawley told reporters on Capitol Hill that his legislation “specifically goes after TikTok” and “bans it,” the language of the bill appears to contain no measure to prohibit the app from American devices. It is unclear how such a ban would be enforced.

In addition to barring transactions with ByteDance and other entities linked with TikTok, the new bill also calls for a report to be compiled by the US intelligence community on the alleged “national security threat posed by TikTok.” The report would focus on whether the Chinese government can use the app to access US data, especially for “intelligence or military purposes,” and outline any “ongoing efforts” by Beijing to monitor or manipulate American citizens online.

Hawley has led a group of lawmakers, most of them Republicans, who are highly critical of TikTok and its Chinese parent firm, with the senator recently calling the app “China’s backdoor into Americans’ lives.” He spearheaded the effort to ban TikTok on some government devices late last year, which received bipartisan support, but has argued the measure did not go far enough.

There is “absolutely no indication” that Moscow is planning to strike the US-led military bloc, Washington says

NATO countries are not in danger of being attacked by Russia, US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Kirby was asked whether the US-led military alliance has enough troops to repel a possible Russian strike on its eastern flank in case of a major escalation in the Ukraine conflict.

“All I can tell you is we’ve seen absolutely no indication that [Russian President Vladimir] Putin has designs on striking NATO territory,”the spokesman said, while stressing that US President Joe Biden is taking Washington’s Article 5 commitments “seriously.” He was referring to the principle that an attack on one member is an attack on the entire alliance.

Kirby noted that Washington has deployed an additional 20,000 US service personnel in Europe, bringing their total number to 100,000. He added that NATO is “confident that we have the capability, the energy, the talent, the manpower, the resources to meet our Article 5 commitments.”

Russia has consistently described the US military presence on NATO’s eastern flank as a threat. In late October, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov warned that “the closer American troops are to our borders, the greater danger we are in.”

Kirby also said the US is paying attention to the red lines drawn by Moscow in Ukraine, adding: “We don’t just take anything for granted when they say it. And we’re not dismissive.”

In the autumn, Russia’s Foreign Ministry warned Washington that deliveries of long-range weapons to Kiev would cross a “red line” and make America “a direct party to the conflict.” On Tuesday, Dmitry Polyansky, Moscow’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, suggested that while the West has disregarded some of Moscow’s warnings, “it is possible that the most red [lines] have not been crossed yet”.

However, on Wednesday, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said that all “talk about red lines has become a thing of the past,” pointing to the ongoing “hybrid war” waged by the West against Russia in Ukraine.

“The United States has unequivocally declared that it seeks to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. It's impossible to ignore reality,” the ministry added.

In 2021, Democrats in Vermont granted non-citizens the right to vote in municipal elections. Republicans filed lawsuits and the legal battle went all the way to the state’s highest court.

Now the Vermont Supreme Court has upheld the measure.

Vermont Supreme Court rules in favor of noncitizen voting

Noncitizen residents may continue to vote in municipal elections in Vermont’s capital city of Montpelier, the state Supreme Court ruled Friday, stating that such voting in local elections doesn’t violate the state constitution.

In its decision on an appeal the higher court upheld a lower court ruling, dismissing the claim.

“The statute allowing noncitizens to vote in local Montpelier elections does not violate Chapter II, § 42 because that constitutional provision does not apply to local elections,” the Supreme Court wrote.

In 2021, the Democrat-controlled Vermont Legislature approved two separate bills to change the municipal charters of Montpelier and Winooski, the most diverse community in the state, to allow legal residents who are not U.S. citizens to vote in local elections. Republican Gov. Phil Scott vetoed the measures, but the Legislature overrode his vetoes.

The Republican National Committee filed lawsuits against the two Vermont cities asking judges to declare noncitizen voting unconstitutional and lost those challenges. Federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections, including races for president, vice president, Senate or House of Representatives.

Montpelier and Winooski are among more than a dozen communities in a handful of states — including New York City, and a number of towns in Maryland — that allow noncitizens to vote in local elections. Seven states, including Ohio, have measures banning noncitizen voting in local elections, according to the group Americans for Citizen Voting.

Poland allegedly gave Ukraine several MiG-29 planesunder the guise of spare parts

In spring 2022,Warsaw secretly delivered several of its MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, despite the Polish government officially denying any such deals, a local paper has claimed, citing sources.

According to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP), the planes were sent over using a “combined” method, apparently meaning that they were delivered in a disassembled state and declared as spare parts.

“The fuselage and the wings are also spare parts,” DGP wrote Wednesday, citing sources within the Polish government.

Back in March, in the first months of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, Washington rejected a plan to transfer Polish MiG-29 jets to Ukraine, stating the move was “too escalatory” and risked directly involving the US or a NATO ally in the conflict, potentially triggering a direct confrontation with Russia.

In April, however, the Pentagon stated that unnamed US allies had helped bolster Ukraine’s fleet of fighter jets by donating unspecified “spare parts” which were supposedly used to restore many of Kiev’s damaged planes.

The latest article by DGP now seems to suggest that that ally could have been Poland, which in late April was also revealed to have provided Ukraine with $7 billion worth of military aid, including half of its tanks, dozens of howitzers, Grad MRLS, and missiles for MiG-29 and Su-27 fighter jets, among other munitions.

In recent weeks the US seems to have abandoned some of its prior concerns about supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine, and now plans to deliver a number of its M1 Abrams tanks to Kiev, while Germany, Poland and Finland intend to send dozens of their Leopard 2 tanks.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has responded to these planned deliveries as evidence that the West is becoming more directly involved in the conflict, despite European and American politicians claiming otherwise. That’s as Russia has repeatedly urged the West to stop “pumping” Ukraine with weaponry, arguing it would only prolong the conflict and lead to more bloodshed.

Air-raid warnings have been activated all over the country

Ukraine was subjected to a huge wave of Russian airstrikes on Thursday morning, withexplosions at energy facilitiesreported from various parts of the country, including the capital, Kiev.

“A blast in Kiev. Stay in shelters,” Mayor Vitaly Klitschko wrote on Telegram.

Videos on social media have shown thick black smoke rising from an undisclosed location in the city. The Kiev metro has reportedly ceased its operations during the airstrikes.

Ukrainian Railways have announced that some trains will be delayed as news of the airstrikes started coming in.

Reports of explosions also came from the Black Sea port of Odessa, where atleast two electrical substationswere said to have been hit. According to social media accounts, there’ve been power shortages and issues with internet access in the city.

Blasts were also reported from Dnepr, Vinnitsa, Krivoy Rog, Nikolaev and from some other locations.

Ukrainian officials said that air defenses had been activated in Kiev, Vinnitsa and Zhytomir Regions.

Earlier, Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s interior minister, said that Russian missiles were incoming from the direction of the Caspian Sea.

Moscow has stepped up pressure on Ukraine since October last year, when it accused Kiev of using “terrorist tactics” and of targeting Russian infrastructure, including the strategic Crimean Bridge. Since then, a number of large-scale missile strikes have been carried out against Ukrainian military installations and energy facilities, leading to rolling blackouts across the country.

Official Data shows Germany recorded just under 1 million deaths between week 1 and week 49 of 2022. This sadly resulted in the country suffering over 102k excess deaths.

This represents a 276% increase on the number of excess deaths recorded in the year 2020, which was the alleged height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and prior to the emergency use authorisation of Covid-19 injections.

The data suggested that most of the individuals who had been fully vaccinated would develop full-blown vaccine-induced acquired immunodeficiency syndrome by the end of the month.

Furthermore, the data confirmed that the immune systems of the fully vaccinated had already degraded to an average of minus 87%.

So the unvaccinated had 186 cases out of 26.5% of the population. While the fully vaccinated had 4020 cases out of 70.53% of the population.

So the vaccinated Omicron case incidence was 57 per 1 per cent of the population (830,000 is 1% of the 83 million German population)

While the unvaccinated Omicron case incidence was just 7.02 per 1 per cent of the population.

So the vaccinated were (57.0/7.02 =) 8.12x more likely to be infected with Omicron than the unvaccinated in Germany.

The Koch Institut failed to produce its normal vaccine effectiveness table in its December 30 weekly report.

Vaccine effectiveness isn’t really a measure of a vaccine, it is a measure of a vaccine recipient’s immune system performance compared to the immune system performance of an unvaccinated person.

Prince Andrew’s beloved collection of teddy bears was so big it took a full day of training for new staff to care for them — and an hour each day to arrange them for the adult royal, according to a former palace maid.

Charlotte Briggs told The Sun that when she started working for the “demanding and entitled” prince at Buckingham Palace the biggest surprise was his collection of 72 soft toys.

“As soon as I got the job, I was told about the teddies and it was drilled into me how he wanted them,” she told the UK paper of just after Andrew divorced Sarah Ferguson in 1996, when he was 36.

“He absolutely loved the ­teddies and was very clear about how he wanted them arranged,” she said, calling it “so peculiar.”

Briggs, who was just 21 at the time, said she “even had a day’s training” because the newly divorced prince was so demanding about how they were set out in his apartment at the palace.

Andrew, a former Royal Navy helicopter pilot who flew in the Falklands War, mostly collected bears dressed as sailors in uniforms and caps, the former maid said.

“The teddies had to be in a particular order on his four-poster bed, from the biggest at the back, down to the smallest at the front,” she said, with the prince’s two favorite bears on “thrones” either side of the bed.

“It took me half an hour to arrange them,” she insisted, calling it the “most bizarre thing to be paid for.”

The bizarre collection came to light this week after a former palace guard told a UK TV documentary that Andrew would “shout and scream” if the soft toys were not left in the right place.

Briggs told The Sun that Andrew even left her in tears with his angry outbursts — claiming that when she once left a gap after closing his curtains he screamed, “Can’t you f—ing do anything right?”

“I was thinking, ‘You want to shut your own curtains’ but you can’t say anything. You have to absorb it. It was awful and he brought me to tears,” she said.

The “spoiled brat” would even make her run up four flights of stairs to close the curtains — even when he was sitting right next to them, the former maid said.

“This man fought for his country in the Falklands but couldn’t stand up to close his own curtains,” she told the UK paper.

“It was utterly ridiculous but spoke volumes about him … He thinks he’s above everyone,” she insisted of the prince who has since been booted from royal duties and is no longer His Royal Highness.

She said when she got the job looking after Andrew partly because nobody else wanted it “because of his reputation for tantrums and sweary outbursts.”

She did not last long, either — quitting the following year, just before

Princess Diana’s death in August 1997.

Buckingham Palace and a spokesman for Prince Andrew both declined to comment, The Sun said.

The interview comes amid increased focus on Andrew, who is being sued in Manhattan by longtime Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre who says she was forced to have sex with him three times. He has vehemently denied the allegations.

BREAKING: Study finds COVID Vaccines have killed 1 in every 874 Americans

A peer-reviewed study published on 24 January 2023 estimates 278,000 Americans died in 2021, alone, due to covid injections. 243 million Americans had received Covid injections by the end of Dec 2021. So, the study’s estimate suggests that 1 out of 874 vaccinees is killed by the injections.

The study commissioned an online survey from a reputable polling company, Dynata. According to the Centres for Disease Control, about 31% of the United States population had not completed the primary vaccination series as of November 2022. So, the primary aim of the study was to identify the factors associated by American citizens with the decision to be vaccinated against covid.

A total of 2,840 participants completed the survey between 18 and 23 December 2021. 22% of respondents indicated that they knew at least one person who had experienced a severe health problem following covid vaccination.

“Estimates from the survey indicate that through the first year of the covid-19 vaccination program there may be as many as 278,000 vaccine-induced fatalities and up to a million severe adverse events,” the study noted.

As Igor Chudov highlighted, the estimates of the total number of vaccine fatalities cannot be very precise, and the study author points that out very honestly.

At the time of the study, the reported number of vaccine deaths in VAERS was 8,023.

A January 2023 Rasmussen survey showed that 28% of all adults know someone who died due to covid injections. 35% of adults under 40 believe someone they know personally might have died from vaccine side effects, compared to 28% of those 40-64 and just 14% of Americans 65 and older.

In mid-December 2021 Steve Kirsch estimated 388,000 Americans had been killed by covid injections

An analysis done by Fabian Spieker estimated 1 death for every 1,642 doses given in Germany. Assuming that by the end of 2021, 1.8 doses per vaccinated person were given, as some had only one dose. This would yield, in the USA, 266,400 dead from covid injections.

That these three outcomes are not wildly different means that the true number of deaths – which nobody knows and nobody will ever know exactly – is somewhere within this ballpark.

IN THE RUN-UP to the 2016 presidential campaign, Jeffrey Epstein told associates something they would never forget: He was advising both Republicans and Democrats.

“He would say things like ‘Trump’s people were here this morning. Hillary’s people were here for lunch,’” a former Epstein associate tells Rolling Stone. Epstein “would claim he was impacting the campaign dramatically.” But he would never name names, and these meetings always took place behind closed doors.

Like many things Epstein said, it may have been a wild exaggeration with a kernel of truth. Years earlier, when Epstein’s influence was at its peak, former President Bill Clinton flew multiple times on his private plane and future President Donald Trump famously described him as a “terrific guy.”

There’s no evidence that Epstein’s connections to either president had survived the 2008 scandal that branded Epstein a sex offender — with one notable exception: Steve Bannon, the chairman of the Trump campaign and a White House strategist, was a frequent visitor to Epstein’s New York mansion.

A former Epstein associate, who spoke to Rolling Stone anonymously for fear of professional reprisal, recalled being introduced to Bannon at Epstein’s Manhattan home. “He was the main person that [Epstein] would brag about to literally everyone. It wasn’t a secret,” this person said. Epstein “loved having this ‘one famous person’ around that he would talk about and introduce to everyone. Almost like [he was] using Bannon to get more people to accept him. That’s my sense.”

Bannon did not respond to several messages left seeking comment. His spokesperson declined to comment on the record.

Although Epstein’s reputation was badly damaged after he spent 13 months in a Florida jail for soliciting sex from a teen, the conviction didn’t stop the flow of wealthy and famous people who flocked to his $77 million Upper East Side mansion. Behind the 15-foot oak front doors, Epstein played host to old friends like Wall Street billionaire Leon Black, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, and new ones like Steve Bannon.

According to Too Famous, a new book by journalist Michael Wolff, Epstein and Bannon had been introduced in December 2017. The two men had bonded, in part, “out of a shared incredulity about Donald Trump,” Wolff writes. Bannon liked to compare notes with Epstein and “was often astonished by what Epstein knew.”

Why would the media-savvy Bannon run the risk of associating with a sex offender? Two Republican operatives who worked for Bannon offer an explanation. While reporting on MAGA world, and Bannon in particular, merits an extra degree of caution as it often involves unreliable sources with questionable motives, these independent accounts line up and point to an alluring thesis: Bannon was intrigued by Epstein’s reputed role as middleman for intelligence services in the United States and abroad.

One of the operatives, who spoke anonymously to discuss private conversations, asked Bannon in 2018 about reports that he was spotted entering Epstein’s mansion. Bannon admitted they had met and then said, cryptically, “Have you seen the Turkish currency?” which the employee took to mean that Epstein was somehow involved in the recent collapse of the Turkish lira. “He [Bannon] always insinuated that he was still working with the CIA, even when he was outside the White House, which is completely bullshit,” the former employee said. The Wall Street Journal and New York magazine reported that Epstein claimed to have a currency-trading business that earned tens of millions of dollars.
