Australia’s food security is under attack from varroa mites that kill bees. Was it an accident or was it from illegal importation of bees?

Australia’s food security is under threat with an almost unstoppable outbreak of varroa mites in Newcastle (NSW) and the surrounding regions which could cost Australia $billions.

Most Australians at this point would not realise what damage the varroa mite can do. But in 2000 in New Zealand, a varroa mite outbreak led to 90% of bees being killed which almost destroyed the industry. And if that were to happen in Australia it would cause $billion in damage to Australia’s agriculture industry which relies on bees for pollination.

I interviewed Simon Mulvany, who runs the Save the Bees Australia Facebook page and the Bee the Cure website, on Monday (4/7/22) in the below video and discussed the key issues surrounding the varroa mite outbreak.

One of the issues is where did the outbreak come from. The government is suggesting it likely came from international ships at the Port of Newcastle. But Ben Brown is one of the beekeepers who has been ordered to destroy his bees, even though they are apparently clear of the varroa mite, and his father Trevor Brown was convicted of illegally importing queen bees.

The exact date of the conviction and crime is uncertain as The Daily Liberal, a Dubbo paper, says it was first reported in 2001 and updated in 2012. They report:

The entry of exotic bee diseases into Australia would have far wider implications than destroying the honey industry, according to a local apiarist.

A number of agricultural industries, especially legumes, would be left high and dry without bees, Warren Jones said yesterday.

He was commenting after the peak bee industry body slammed what it believed was a lenient punishment given to a Mendooran beekeeper who risked wiping out Australia’s $2 billion honey industry with the insect equivalent of foot-and-mouth disease.

Terry Brown was sentenced to 200 hours community service and fined $1000 after attempting to smuggle eight Italian queen bees concealed in pens into the country.

“If someone brought foot-and-mouth disease (to Australia) would they get a $1000 fine and 200 hours community service?” questioned Mr Jones, who is involved in honey production and pollination. (Click here to read more)

Interestingly, there are reports today that foot-and-mouth disease is a major problem in Indonesia and has spread to Bali which is the closest it has ever been to Australia and the government is worried tourists might bring it home with them. (Click here to read more)

The ABC is reporting that the varroa mite outbreak has now spread:

The deadly parasite that has affected honey bee populations has been detected hundreds of kilometres from initial sites in Newcastle, with a new emergency zone in north-west New South Wales.

The varroa mite has been detected in Narrabri, with the NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) linking it to previously known cases in Newcastle.

Acting Chief Plant Protection Officer Chris Anderson said the affected honey bee hives were stored for several months next to an already affected hive in Newcastle before being moved to Narrabri. (Click here to read more)

From what is written on Facebook, Ben Brown has been ordered to kill all the bees in his 2000 bee hives and destroy his equipment so he is taking a huge hit and I do not suggest he has been involved in importing bees. But given his father, Trevor Brown, has a conviction for illegally importing bees that is an avenue that the government should be investigating as a possible source of the varroa mite outbreak.

The varroa mite issue and its fallout is something I will continue to monitor as regular readers know I have covered bees, honey and food fraud etc for over 5 years and they all involve government failure and/or corruption. The Georgia Guidestones Have Been Razed to the Ground

On Wednesday, an explosion rocked the Georgia Guidestones in Elbert County, Georgia, USA, after which, for safety reasons, the remainder was demolished.

In 1979, a mysterious stranger appeared in the remote town of Elberton, Georgia and ordered the construction of a very imposing granite monument – the Georgia Guidestones. He introduced himself as R.C. Christian but admitted it was not his real name. Researchers wondered for decades about his real identity and the real purpose of the Guidestones which he claimed would inspire the “Age of Reason.”

The ministry said as part of Jakarta's current G20 presidency, special attention on the diplomatic track was paid to two key issues: the strengthening of multilateral cooperation among states and the joint response to challenges in the field of food and energy security. The ministry said that, despite the confrontation fomented by the West, in general, the emphasis was placed on the need to search for a "common denominator" in solving social and economic problems was accentuated.

"The thesis on the need to promote a polycentric structure of the world order and the democratization of global governance, a broader engagement of dialogue on multilateral platforms to solve the problems of developing countries received wide support," the statement said.

"Lavrov's speech outlined the basic approaches to building up cooperation among nations on an equal footing and based on the UN Charter and international law, the effective use of the potential of the G20 as a representative social and economic forum," the ministry said. "In light of the West's distorted interpretation of the events in Ukraine, the causes of the crisis in this country in the wake of the 2014 coup, which happened with a direct intervention of the US and the EU, were explained in detail."

Russia confirmed its readiness "to continue to make a significant contribution to ensuring access to food and energy resources," the ministry said.

"The ongoing diversification of the markets for fuel and energy products, plans to increase the supply of grains were outlined. Intensive contacts were held at the bilateral level: Separate meetings of the [Russian foreign] minister with the counterparts from Asia, Africa and Latin America were held. The ministerial meeting became an important milestone on the path toward the G20 summit in Bali on November 15-16," the statement said.

President Vladimir Putin of Russia has sent condolences to the mother and to the wife of the late Shinzo Abe, a former prime minister of Japan, who was killed by a gunman on Friday.

Putin’s message called Abe “an exceptional statesman, who … did a lot for good neighborly relations” between Russia and Japan during his tenure in office.

Putin said that, during his contacts with the Japanese politician, he fully appreciated his personal and professional qualities.

“A fond memory of this wonderful man will stay forever in the hearts of everyone who knew him,” he said.

Earlier the Russian foreign ministry described the shooting as a “terrorist act” and called for the culprit to be held accountable. Meanwhile Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Kremlin, called Abe a true patriot of Japan.

“He always fought for the interests of his country, and preferred to do so at the negotiation table. That is why he established a good, constructive working relationship” with the Russian president, Peskov said.

Abe was killed during an election rally in the western Japanese city of Nara. He arrived in hospital with no vital signs and was proclaimed dead as a result of blood loss shortly afterwards, medics said.

The perpetrator was apprehended at the scene after having fired his weapon twice. He was identified by the police as a 41-year-old resident of the city.

Abe held the office of the prime minister of Japan from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2020, which made him the longest-serving leader in the country’s modern history. He resigned due to developing health problems, but remained an influential figure in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.

His public appearance was to deliver a speech on behalf of the Nara Prefecture’s representative, who is seeking a new term in the upcoming parliamentary election.

TOKYO, July 8. /TASS/. Former Japanese Prime minister Shinzo Abe died in a hospital after he was attacked during a campaign speech in the city of Nara, doctors said.

Incumbent Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said the attack was "barbaric" and no decisions had been made yet regarding parliamentary elections scheduled for July 10.

Cardiac arrest

First responders in Nara told TASS that Abe was rushed to a hospital in a state of "cardiopulmonary arrest" after he was shot. The phrase means clinical death in Japan. According to reports, Abe, 67, was hospitalized with gunshot wounds to his neck and chest. He received a blood transfusion.

Attack

The attack took place at about 11:50 local time (05:50 in Moscow). The city’s fire department, which doubles as an emergencies service, then got a call reporting the shots. Eyewitnesses said at least two shots were fired, local news media reported. The police said a 41-year-old man named Tetsuya Yamagami shot at Abe from behind using what looked like a homemade gun. Doctors at first performed a cardiac massage, then flew Abe to a hospital by helicopter, according to footage broadcast on television.

The attacker was detained on the scene immediately. He used to serve in Japan's Self-Defense Forces. NHK reported he told the police he disliked Abe’s policies and wanted to kill him.

Reaction

Japan’s main political parties condemned the attack. Japan’s main opposition party, the Constitutional Democrats, said now wasn’t a good time for elections. It’s likely that there will be proposals to delay the elections to the upper house of the parliament, which are scheduled for July 10. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed condolences to Japan at a G20 foreign ministers meeting. Russian Ambassador in Tokyo condemned the assassination.

Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party suspended its campaign.

Protesters reportedly disrupted Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh's dinner Wednesday night in a Washington, D.C., restaurant, according to a news report Friday.

Kavanaugh has been the target of abortion rights protesters since a news report in early May that he expected to join other conservative-leaning justices on the high court in overturning the decades-old court case Roe v. Wade that provided a constitutional right to abortion. The court's conservative majority on June 24 struck down Roe.

Kavanaugh was dining at Morton’s downtown D.C. location when protesters arrive outside of the steakhouse and called the manager to tell him to kick out the judge, according to Politico.

The group ShutDownDC later tweeted that Kavanaugh and his security detail was forced to leave from the back of the restaurant.

The court has no official comment. A person familiar with the situation said Kavanaugh neither heard nor saw protesters, ate a full meal and left before dessert.

New York Judge Arthur Engoron imposed a $10,000 daily fine beginning Thursday for each day that the firm refuses to comply with the subpoenas. The attorney general is seeking information about the real estate giant's business relationship with the Trump Organization.

Digital camera and fisheye lens were fixed to a tripod to capture the dramatic timelapse, so the stars trailed through the region's dark sky. Of course that makes it easy to spot the planet's north celestial pole. The extension of Earth's axis of rotation into space is toward the upper left, at the center of the concentric star trail arcs. The Milky Way is there too. The plane of our galaxy stretches across the wide field of view from north to east (left to right) creating a broader luminous band of diffuse starlight.

A FORMER US Presidential candidate has claimed the CIA used time travel to find out that Donald Trump would be President.

Andrew D. Basiago, who entered the race for the White House earlier last year, said the government agency started Project Pegasus in the 1970s.

He says the programme was developed by the CIA and DARPA (Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency) decades ago to study the effects of time travel and teleportation on kids.

It was also allegedly used to bring back important information from the future and give it to the military and intelligence community.

Does time travel exist?

Children were apparently chosen to be involved in the project because of their ability to adapt "to the strains of moving between past, present and future".

But Basiago – who alleges he was one of the children used in the project – says another key function of Project Pegasus was also to identify future presidents and allow the CIA the opportunity to brief the future leaders.

Basiago said that as a child in the early 70s he attended a lunch in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he met future presidents George HW Bush, Bill Clinton and George W Bush.

And comments the "time traveller" made BEFORE the US election seem to back up his extraordinary and unbelievable claim.

After being asked about whether firm favourite Hillary Clinton would enter the White House, Basiago reportedly said: "As for Hillary Clinton, I have no data.

"I think it is reasonable to infer that were she a future President there would have been a pre-ID of her.

"As for Trump, I have a vague memory that my father took special note of Trump during an appearance by him on The Phil Donahue Show and might have even commented that he was a future US President."

Most extraordinarily, Basiago says the time travel was made possible by using a teleportation machine that would form a "shimmering curtain" between two elliptical booms.

After people pass through the "vortal tunnel" they would get to their new time period destination.

Basiago says that as a child he saw some of the most important events in US history, including Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address in 1863.

He has even produced picture evidence of himself there, taken when he wandered away from the large crowd.

And Basiago says that like Trump, he has also been foreseen as President at some point between 2016 and 2028 at which point he will declassify all top secret CIA-DARPA information, saying it will allow these technologies to be used to further the human race.

Andrew Basiago’s 1863 Gettysburg Time Travel Photo

Alleged chrononaut Andrew Basiago claims that in 1972 he was sent backwards in time to November 19, 1863. Where to? Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on the very day Abraham Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address.

I’ve written about this before (see my article on Project Pegasus), but last week I received an email inquiring about Basiago’s photographic evidence, and thought I’d do a little digging into its origin.

Here’s what I found.

Basiago claims he is the boy in the above photograph, and often shares it as proof of his time travel adventures. In this case, he says, he had stepped into a plasma confinement chamber in 1972 New Jersey, and hopped back to 1863 Gettysburg. There, he visited the dedication of the Soldiers’ National Cemetery.

Basiago also claims that his original pair of shoes vanished during his voyage, like Dandelo in The Fly. That’s why they appear over-sized in the photo. He was given a new pair when he arrived, and tried his best to avoid drawing attention to himself.

Ultimately, however, he failed, leaving behind a single piece of evidence of his temporal journey — the photograph we see here today.

Now, aside from Basiago’s story, here’s what we know about the picture itself.

According to the Library Of Congress, it was indeed taken at Gettysburg on November 19, 1863, likely by photographer Mathew Brady. It’s available in higher quality at the LoC website.

However, as you may notice, this version of the photograph is cleaned up and cropped. You can’t see as much of the man on the bottom right corner, and the other edges are cropped out, as well. Not to worry.

A scan of the original glass plate negative can be found at the National Archives. As you can see, it’s uncropped and about as worn as you’d expect from a photo taken in 1863.

What’s most interesting is that this photo is apparently the first ever discovered of Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg. Josephine Cobb noticed his face while viewing the glass plate negative at the National Archives in 1952. If you zoom in very closely, you can see who historians believe is Lincoln, standing with his hat off in the crowd.

Of course, none of this proves or disproves Basiago’s strange tale, but I thought it’d be interesting to track down the original photo. It is, in a way, its own kind of time travel.

A lot of people have a hard time trusting lawyers as it is, but what about one who claims he was part of a secret government time travel program when he was a kid?

Since 2004, Seattle attorney Andrew Basiago has been publicly claiming that from the time he was 7 to when he was 12, he participated in "Project Pegasus," a secret U.S. government program that he says worked on teleportation and time travel under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

"They trained children along with adults so they could test the mental and physical effects of time travel on kids," Basiago told The Huffington Post. "Also, children had an advantage over adults in terms of adapting to the strains of moving between past, present and future."

Skeptical? You're not alone. Hong Kong physicist Shengwang Du issued a paper last year saying time travel is impossible, because nothing moves faster than the speed of light, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Nevertheless, Basiago's claim gets support from Alfred Webre, a lawyer specializing in "exopolitics," or the political implications surrounding an extraterrestrial presence on Earth. Webre said teleportation and time travel have been around for 40 years, but are hoarded by the Defense Department instead of being used to transfer goods and services faraway distances.

"It's an inexpensive, environmentally friendly means of transportation," Webre told The Huffington Post. "The Defense Department has had it for 40 years and [former Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld used it to transport troops to battle."

Basiago said he experienced eight different time travel technologies during his stint in the program. Mostly, he said, his travel involved a teleporter based on technical papers supposedly found in pioneering mechanical engineer Nikola Tesla's New York City apartment after his death in January 1943.

"The machine consisted of two gray elliptical booms about eight feet tall, separated by about 10 feet, between which a shimmering curtain of what Tesla called 'radiant energy' was broadcast," Basiago said. "Radiant energy is a form of energy that Tesla discovered that is latent and pervasive in the universe and has among its properties the capacity to bend time-space."

Basiago said project participants would jump through this field of radiant energy into a vortal tunnel and "when the tunnel closed, we found ourselves at our destination."

"One felt either as if one was moving at a great rate of speed or moving not at all, as the universe was wrapped around one's location," Basiago said.

Basiago claimed he can be seen in a photograph of Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg in 1863, which he said he visited in 1972 via a plasma confinement chamber located in East Hanover, N.J.

"I had been dressed in period clothing, as a Union bugle boy," he said. "I attracted so much attention at the Lincoln speech site at Gettysburg wearing over-sized men's street shoes that I left the area around the dais and walked about 100 paces over to where I was photographed in the Josephine Cogg image of Lincoln at Gettysburg." In addition, Basiago said he traveled to Ford's Theatre the night of Lincoln's assassination on five or six occasions. "I did not, however, witness the assassination," he said. "Once, I was on the theater level when he was shot and I heard the shot followed by a great commotion that arose from the crowd. It was terrible to hear."

Basiago said each of his visits to the past was different, "like they were sending us to slightly different alternative realities on adjacent timelines. As these visits began to accumulate, I twice ran into myself during two different visits."

Being sent back in time to the same place and moment, but from different starting points in the present, allowed two of himselves to be in Ford's Theatre at the same time in 1865.

"After the first of these two encounters with myself occurred, I was concerned that my cover might be blown," he recalled. "Unlike the jump to Gettysburg, in which I was clutching a letter to Navy Secretary Gideon Welles to offer me aid and assistance in the event I was arrested, I didn't have any explanatory materials when I was sent to Ford's Theatre."

And how did these alleged time travelers return to the present day or their point of origin? According to Basiago, some sort of holographic technology allowed them to travel both physically and virtually.

"If we were in the hologram for 15 minutes or fewer," he explained, "the hologram would collapse, and after about 60 seconds of standing in a field of super-charged particles ... we would find ourselves back on the stage ... in the present."

AngelicView: There’s a saying that goes, “Keep an open mind – but not so open that your brain falls out“. Well, some people might think that this story might involve brains on the floor! But read on anyway!

I have known about this man for a couple of years now and many people know about him. On the other hand, there are many people who have never heard of him. So, here’s the thing: If in 2016 or 2020 this guy becomes President of the United States, I want you to think to yourself that you first learned of him on AngelicView 😉

There’s a man who’s name is Andrew Basiago who claims that when he was a child he was part of a CIA program which went to Mars via a “Jump Room”. This was termed “Project Pegasus”. He says he would literally walk into a building in California, then into what looked like an elevator, and walk out on Mars. Interestingly, there are other people out there who claim that they, too, were part of that same program. Now there is a picture of what appears to be a “head” that has surfaced that he says is a Martian head.

That’s not all. Included in his claims are that Barack Obama, the POTUS, was with him on some of these missions to Mars. As of yet, Andrew has not had any financial gain from these claims (no book out, etc.), although he does have a couple of books coming out soon, he says, because he wants this all out in the open when he runs for president in 2016. By then, he says, hopefully more people will publicly come out and collaborate his story – and potentially even Barack Obama himself.

This is a fascinating interview – even if you (like me) are somewhat skeptical of it. He describes the types of people that are living on Mars, mainly underground – about a million of them. He also talks about the Martian landscape in detail and that Mars was much like Earth a long time ago before a cataclysm hit the planet.

This picture (below) is one I found on Google search, and it looks kind of like what Andrew described the Martians to look like. He said they have pointy ears, a skinny body, and a barrel-like chest (from the low-oxygen atmosphere). I wonder if someone who has been to Mars actually sketched this picture, aye?

(Update: I’m sorry, it seems that picture has been taken off the web. It has disappeared and I haven’t been able to relocate it. It was a very good approximation of how Andrew described them, though. I’ll keep my eye out for it to return. Please enjoy this Mars surface picture instead 😉 )

Interview Description: Andrew D. Basiago, president of the Mars Anomaly Research Society, discussed his teleportation to Mars and breaking news about the discovery of a Martian head. Basiago described his experiences as one of 140 school children selected for DARPA’s Project Pegasus, a secret American teleportation and time travel program. The U.S. intelligence community was going forward in time to retrieve and bring back scientifically and culturally significant artifacts, he said.

An analysis of humanoid and animal forms in NASA photograph PIA 10214 that he published in 2008 was one of the items brought back to his present, Basiago recalled, noting that he read the paper aloud to his father in 1971. “Now they’re slightly blurry, but I deny anyone to claim that the images [in PIA 10214] are not of the basic human form,” he added. Basiago disclosed how his participation in Project Pegasus led him into the CIA’s Mars teleportation program. From 1980 to 1984 he said he would regularly visit a building in El Segundo, California, that was owned and operated by Hughes Aircraft.

According to Basiago, an elevator in that building would morph from a box into a cylinder and then passengers could step out onto the surface of Mars. He claimed to have interacted with Martians and been taken to their underground civilization where he was taught about the various Martian typologies. Basiago identified the figure in the Martian head photo as Homo maris maris, a humanoid species indigenous to the planet with an elongated head, a bulbous crown, pointy ears and a spindly body. He credited photo analyst Patricio Barrancos of Argentina with finding the head and suggested it is corroborative data of the CIA’s Mars jump room program and his claim that Mars is inhabited.

This is the first in a series of thruster burns over the next few months to more accurately target CAPSTONE’s transfer orbit to the Moon. Are we all Martians? A controversial hypothesis contends that life on our planet had to get its start somewhere else — most likely on Mars — because the chemistry on early Earth couldn't have provided the required molecular machinery.

"The evidence seems to be building that we are actually all Martians; that life started on Mars and came to Earth on a rock," Steven Benner, a chemist at the Florida-based Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution, said in a news release. What's more, recent studies suggest that the conditions suitable for the origin of life "may still exist on Mars," he said.

Scientists have long debated the idea that life got its start elsewhere in the universe, and then was transported to Earth on meteorites or comets — an idea known as panspermia. In a presentation to the annual Goldschmidt Conference in Florence, Italy, Benner lays out an unusually detailed case for panspermia involving early Mars and Earth.

Livable Mars, deadly Earth?

For years, scientists have been saying that although present-day Mars is an inhospitable place, it was much more habitable billions of years ago. The findings from NASA's Curiosity rover on Mars have added fresh support to such claims.

The early environment on Earth, however, was challenging to the rise of life as we know it, at least in Benner's view. One of the biggest challenges has to do with the process by which organic molecules gave rise to life's chemical building blocks: RNA, DNA and proteins.

If left to themselves, adding energy to organic molecules just tends to turn them into tar or an oily substance. That's what Benner calls the "tar paradox": How could organic materials ever give rise to biopolymers like DNA?

"Certain elements seem able to control the propensity of organic materials to turn into tar, particularly boron and molybdenum, so we believe that minerals containing both were fundamental to life first starting," Benner said. Such minerals can't form easily in the presence of water, but the early Earth was thought to have been covered with water.

So where could those minerals come from?

"Analysis of a Martian meteorite recently showed that there was boron on Mars; we now believe that the oxidized form of molybdenum was there too," Benner said. During the time when life got its start, Earth was too young and too wet to produce the borates and molybdates that he believes were essential. He says the best place to find such minerals would have been on Mars.

"Mars has always been more oxidizing and drier than Earth," Benner told NBC News in an email. "True, being too small to have a magnetic field, it has lost most of its atmosphere and its water. However, 3.5 billion years ago, all of the chemistry that we propose could have happened on Mars. As Mars became less and less habitable over time, the life that originated on Mars (and, in this view, could not have originated on Earth), escaped to Earth, which has remained habitable until this day."

Benner said his scenario illustrates the difference "between a locale where life can survive and a locale where life can emerge."

Too kooky?

Is Benner's story too kooky to believe? One thing's for sure: Benner is not a kook. He was one of the first chemists to voice skepticism about the claims for arsenic-based life, which stirred up such a fuss in 2010. "I'm the guy they bring in to throw a wet blanket over all the enthusiasm," he told NBC News at the time.

This time, the wet-blanket role is filled by David Grinspoon, an astrobiologist from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Grinspoon, who's spending a year doing research at the Library of Congress, says that he's a "huge fan" of Benner's, but that his extraordinary claim isn't sufficiently supported by the evidence.

"This isn't really evidence that life came from Mars, but it is evidence that Steven Benner is very clever," Grinspoon told NBC News.

New evidence has emerged which supports the long-debated theory that life on Earth may have started on Mars.

Professor Steven Benner will tell geochemists gathering today (Thursday 29 Aug) at the annual Goldschmidt conference that an oxidized mineral form of the element molybdenum, which may have been crucial to the origin of life, could only have been available on the surface of Mars and not on Earth. "In addition", said Professor Benner "recent studies show that these conditions, suitable for the origin of life, may still exist on Mars."

"It's only when molybdenum becomes highly oxidized that it is able to influence how early life formed," explains Professor Benner, from The Westheimer Institute for Science and Technology in the USA. "This form of molybdenum couldn't have been available on Earth at the time life first began, because three billion years ago the surface of the Earth had very little oxygen, but Mars did. It's yet another piece of evidence which makes it more likely life came to Earth on a Martian meteorite, rather than starting on this planet."

The research Professor Benner will present at the Goldschmidt conference tackles two of the paradoxes which make it difficult for scientists to understand how life could have started on Earth.

The first is dubbed by Professor Benner as the 'tar paradox'. All living things are made of organic matter, but if you add energy such as heat or light to organic molecules and leave them to themselves, they don't create life. Instead, they turn into something more like tar, oil or asphalt.

The second paradox is that life would have struggled to start on the early Earth because it was likely to have been totally covered by water. Not only would this have prevented sufficient concentrations of boron forming – it's currently only found in very dry places like Death Valley – but water is corrosive to RNA, which scientists believe was the first genetic molecule to appear. Although there was water on Mars, it covered much smaller areas than on early Earth.

"The evidence seems to be building that we are actually all Martians; that life started on Mars and came to Earth on a rock," says Professor Benner. "It's lucky that we ended up here nevertheless, as certainly Earth has been the better of the two planets for sustaining life. If our hypothetical Martian ancestors had remained on Mars, there might not have been a story to tell."

"I think this is probably the only definitively habitable environment that we have described and recorded," said David Blake, a scientist at NASA's Ames Research Center who is the principal investigator for Curiosity's CheMin lab.

The findings are in line with what the scientists hoped to find when they sent the 1-ton, six-wheeled laboratory to Mars' Gale Crater. "It wasn't serendipity that got us here. It was the result of planning," Caltech's John Grotzinger, the $2.5 billion mission's project scientist, told reporters at NASA Headquarters in Washington on Tuesday.

Serendipity did, however, play a part in being able to find the evidence so soon, he said. Curiosity's handlers had planned to have the rover head for a 3-mile-high (5-kilometer-high) mountain in the middle of the crater. But when the rover landed, the science team decided to send Curiosity on a detour to a geologically interesting area in the opposite direction, nicknamed Yellowknife Bay. Preliminary readings showed that the area had been a riverbed or lake bed in ancient times.

Last month, the rover finally got a chance to drill into a Martian rock that was named John Klein, after a member of the mission team who died in 2011. Curiosity fed tablespoons of the ground-up gray powder into its two onboard chemical labs: CheMin (Chemistry and Mineralogy) and SAM (Sample Analysis at Mars). The results were announced at Tuesday's news briefing.

Scientists said the powder contained the elemental ingredients of life — including sulfur, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and carbon. More significantly, they found that clay minerals made up at least 20 percent of the sample. On Earth, these clays are produced when relatively fresh water reacts with igneous minerals such as olivine. The scientists also found calcium sulfate, which suggested that the water had a neutral or mildly alkaline balance.

Earlier NASA missions had found evidence that salty, acidic water was once present on Mars, but that extreme environment would have been challenging for today's Earth-type organisms. Curiosity's chemical analysis produced a different result: The water that was available during the formation of the rock at Yellowknife Bay, billions of years ago, could have supported the kind of life commonly found on Earth.

Maricopa County Republican Committee Votes UNANIMOUSLY To Reject Fraudulent 2020 Election Results

The Maricopa County Republican Committee Executive Governance Committee voted unanimously in a voice vote to officially reject the certification of the 2020 Presidential Election.

Similar resolutions have passed unanimously in Wisconsin and Texas.

Earlier, The Gateway Pundit reported that the Committee would vote on this resolution in a Thursday night meeting.

The Maricopa County full forensic audit and the “2000 Mules” documentary showcased massive findings of voter fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election.

Both investigations discovered a total of hundreds of thousands of illegal or fraudulent or questionable votes in the 2020 Election.

All Maricopa County Legislative District Chairmen voted in favor of the resolution, and none opposed it.

UK Government Bombshell: COVID Shots Killing Children – 30,200% More Likely To Die Than Children Not Injected

On June 17th 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) criminally extended the emergency use authorisation of the mRNA Covid-19 injections for use in children as young as 6 months.

There has never been an emergency in regard to Covid-19 infection among children. Two years of evidence show the alleged disease has only adversely affected the elderly and vulnerable. Children have been unlucky to suffer symptoms more severe than those associated with the common cold.

But despite this fact, the FDA has decided it is perfectly safe to administer an experimental injection to babies and toddlers, with FDA Commissioner Robert Califf saying –

“Many parents, caregivers and clinicians have been waiting for a vaccine for younger children and this action will help protect those down to 6 months of age. As we have seen with older age groups, we expect that the vaccines for younger children will provide protection from the most severe outcomes of COVID-19, such as hospitalization and death.

Those trusted with the care of children can have confidence in the safety and effectiveness of these COVID-19 vaccines and can be assured that the agency was thorough in its evaluation of the data.”

The FDA Commissioner will live to regret that last sentence. As will any parent who takes the Commissioners words at face value. Because official data from the UK’s Office for National Statistics show that Covid-19 vaccinated children are between 8,100% and 30,200% more likely to die than unvaccinated children.

On 16th May 2022, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) published a dataset containing details on ‘deaths by vaccination status in England’ between 1st Jan 2021 and 31st March 2022.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Rules Dodging Sex Offender Registry With Transgender Name Change Is Unlawful

According to The Associated Press, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the state’s ban on name changes for people on the sex offender registry still applied to those who identify as transgender.

The ruling comes after a case where a convicted sex offender sought a name change after coming out as transgender and was looking to dodge the sex offender registry in the state.

According to the AP, the sex offender, referred to as “Ella” in court records, was six feet and five inches tall and over 300 pounds at fifteen when he was convicted of sexually assaulting a disabled 14-year-old boy. The victim was 110 pounds, blind in one eye, and autistic. After the assault, Ella taunted the victim on Facebook and told other students what happened, perpetuating his “victimization and trauma,” the court said.

Seven years later, the offender now identifies as a transgender woman and seeks to legally adopt a female name and dodge the sex offender registry.

The court ruled 4-3 to uphold lower court rulings declining the sex offender’s requests for a legal name change to no longer be required to register as a sex offender.

According to the report, Wisconsin bans those on the sex offender registry from changing their names or using aliases that are not listed on the registry. Ella’s lawyers argued that this prohibition violated the offender’s First Amendment rights and was a form of cruel and unusual punishment prohibited under the Eighth Amendment.

“Requiring Ella to maintain a name that is inconsistent with her gender identity and forcing her to out herself every time she presents official documents exposes her to discrimination and abuse,” dissenting Justice Ann Walsh Bradley wrote, according to the AP.

The court’s majority refused these arguments, stating that the offender could dress and live as a woman without acquiring a legal name change, and determined that Ella did not have a First Amendment right to compel the state to help her with a name change, according to the AP.

“We reject both arguments. Consistent with well established precedent, we hold Ella’s placement on the sex offender registry is not a “punishment” under the Eighth Amendment. Even if it were, sex offender registration is neither cruel nor unusual. We further hold Ella’s right to free speech does not encompass the power to compel the State to facilitate a change of her legal name,” the ruling states.

Washington has requested that captured American mercenaries are treated as combatants, according to Deputy FM

The United States has requested the recognition by Russia of American fighters captured during the Ukraine conflict as combatants, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Friday.

“There was a certain signal from the American side, mainly focused on the fact that these individuals should be considered combatants under the definition of the Geneva convention and should be subject to the relevant protections,” he told reporters.

The deputy FM added, however, that the topic of American mercenaries had not been explicitly discussed between Russia and the US.

According to Ryabkov, the presence of foreign mercenaries аnd their actions “on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nationalist battalions” is now one of the most “serious and problematic moments” in Russia’s relations with the US and other Western countries.

The Fufeng Group also purchased a corn mill near Grand Forks. Local citizens are rightly concerned with this new project in their backyard.

The local Grand Forks City Council members are very upset with leading opponents to the Fufeng corn mill project. They have even lashed out at skeptics online.

The Grand Forks Herald reported in May.

Since January, Kennedy has closely followed Fufeng Group, posting a follow-up blog in March. He argued that the project still hadn’t been vetted properly and that benefits to local farmers are overstated. He hammered local leaders for downplaying the plant’s links to China. He’s made a slew of media appearances since then, from local outlets to a hit on Blaze TV.

But as Kennedy has spoken out against the project, top Grand Forks leaders have grown frustrated with what they see as wild speculation that fueled opposition in the community. Some have publicly wondered about Kennedy’s motives, even skirmishing with him on social media.

“Who’s paying his bills, who paid him to fly to Grand Forks (from Ohio) … who’s paying him to put out the garbage, conjecture, speculation, innuendo that he is?” City Council President Dana Sande said in an interview this week.

Former Theranos Co-Founder Sunny Balwani Found Guilty Of Fraud

Elizabeth Holmes' boy-toy and Theranos co-founder Sunny Balwani was found guilty of 12 counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud this week, resulting from his involvement in the startup blood testing company run by Holmes.

He was found to have misled investors about the financial health of the company and was convicted on all 12 counts of wire fraud he faced, according to NBC.

Balwani was accused of "defrauding investors and patients, in part by misrepresenting the efficacy of Theranos' product and lying about the company's finances," the report says. He started his time at Theranos in 2009.

Recall, in early 2022, a jury (of 8 men and 4 women) returned a verdict also finding Holmes guilty on multiple counts. Her verdict came after "seven days of deliberations spanning more than 50 hours", according to CNBC.

In Balwani's case, the jury deliberated for five days. Holmes' trial was held separately from Balwani's because Holmes argued in her defense that she "suffered abuse at Balwani's hands that had driven her to mislead investors," according to Sky.

Holmes was found guilty on 4 charges, including one count of conspiracy and 3 wire fraud charges that can cost Holmes up to 20 years in prison (as well as a fine of $250,000 plus restitution), per count.

The jury found her not guilty of four other felony charges. On the three remaining charges, the jury was deadlocked.

"She chose fraud over business failure. She chose to be dishonest with investors and with patients," prosecutor Jeff Schenk said in his closing statement about Holmes.

Biden Signs Executive Order In Attempt To Safeguard Abortion Access After Flood Of Criticism

The Biden administration is desperately attempting last-ditch efforts at protecting legal access to abortion in the wake of the Supreme Court's monumental overturning of Roe v. Wade, with the President signing an an executive order Friday aimed at "protecting access to reproductive health."

Despite Biden calling the court's decision a "tragic error" - fellow Democrats have blasted the White House's flat-footed response as weak and too-little-too-late. The new executive order will establish an Interagency Task Force which will aim to coordinate federal “policymaking and program development” to combat the Supreme Court decision, an administration statement said. Attorney General Merrick Garland will be included in the task force to "provide technical assistance to state affording legal protection to out-of-state patients."

The White House said further that the order is designed to build "on the actions his Administration has already taken to defend reproductive rights" - knowing too that it's only within Congress' power to codify "abortion rights". Biden has admitted his options for acting are greatly limited in light of this.

The executive order signing will take place in a Roosevelt Room ceremony Friday morning, with Vice President Kamala Harris in attendance.

Friday’s executive order will prompt Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra to take steps to ensure access to abortion, including FDA-approved medication abortion and expanded access "to the full range of reproductive health services," according to an administration fact sheet shared with CNN. Those services include “emergency contraception and long-acting reversible contraception like intrauterine devices (IUDs),” the fact sheet says, citing coverage of birth control under the Affordable Care Act.

Among other administration plans will be efforts to convene volunteer lawyers who will seek to safeguard patient's rights to travel to other states to get abortion services.

The White House says this will "encourage robust legal representation of patients, providers, and third parties lawfully seeking or offering reproductive health care services throughout the country."

DeSantis signs bill requiring survey of Florida students, professors on their political views

Colleges could lose funding if survey of "ideas and perspectives" fails to satisfy state's GOP-run legislature

Public universities in Florida will be required to survey both faculty and students on their political beliefs and viewpoints, with the institutions at risk of losing their funding if the responses are not satisfactory to the state's Republican-led legislature.

The unprecedented project, which was tucked into a law signed Tuesday by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, is part of a long-running, nationwide right-wing push to promote "intellectual diversity" on campuses — though worries over a lack of details on the survey's privacy protections, and questions over what the results may ultimately be used for, hover over the venture.

Based on the bill's language, survey responses will not necessarily be anonymous — sparking worries among many professors and other university staff that they may be targeted, held back in their careers or even fired for their beliefs.

According to the bill's sponsor, state Sen. Ray Rodrigues, faculty will not be promoted or fired based on their responses, but, as The Tampa Bay Times reported Tuesday, the bill itself does not back up those claims.

The only details on the survey come via a passage over its purpose, to discover "the extent to which competing ideas and perspectives are presented" at public universities, and whether students "feel free to express beliefs and viewpoints on campus and in the classroom."

"It used to be thought that a university campus was a place where you'd be exposed to a lot of different ideas," DeSantis said at a press conference following the bill signing. "Unfortunately, now the norm is, these are more intellectually repressive environments. You have orthodoxies that are promoted, and other viewpoints are shunned or even suppressed."

Republicans have long held that universities promote left-wing ideologies and discriminate against conservative students and staff.

Though the bill does not specify what the survey results will be used for, both DeSantis and Rodrigues suggested that the state could institute budget cuts if university students and staff do not respond in a satisfactory manner.

"That's not worth tax dollars and that's not something that we're going to be supporting moving forward," DeSantis said.

When pressed by reporters, the governor did not offer any specific examples of repression and discrimination faced by conservative students, simply saying that he knows "a lot of parents" who worry about their children being "indoctrinated" on campus.

Florida Senate President Wilton Simpson was more pointed in his criticism Tuesday at a meeting of the state university system's Board of Governors, calling the institutions "socialism factories" — again without much detail on what makes the schools so left-wing.

The Russian economy has withstood the pressure of unprecedented sanctions, according to the president

Western nations have failed in their attempts to destabilize the Russian economy with sanctions, President Vladimir Putin said at a government meeting on economic issues on Friday.

“As a result of the actions of the Central Bank, as a result of the measures that were taken in a timely manner by the government ... a lot was done. And the so-called blitzkrieg that our ill-wishers attempted in relation to Russia, the economic blitzkrieg, of course, has failed,” he said.

The president, nevertheless, acknowledged that the restrictions have hurt the country’s economy and “many risks still remain.”

Putin has urged that in response to the current challenges associated with Western sanctions, Russian energy companies should work for the long-term perspective. Gasification of the country’s regions and diversification of exports should be the key tasks for the government, he stressed.

According to the Russian leader, the government is already considering options for developing railway, sea and pipeline infrastructure for the supply of Russian oil and oil products to friendly countries, as well as gas transportation infrastructure to increase gas supplies to Asia and the domestic market.

Talking about the general economic situation, he pointed out that the world markets “are still in disarray due to the West’s calls to abandon Russian energy resources.”

Putin recalled that the price of Brent oil surged to $130 per barrel amid fears of a possible shortage, but in recent days prices have fallen by $20-$30 due to projections of a global economic slowdown.

The Russian president reminded his audience that he had repeatedly warned European leaders about the current situation on the global energy market, but no one listened. “They treated our warnings so dismissively. This is exactly the situation that we have warned about, this is happening today,” he noted.

Putin also indicated that if Western countries continue their sanctions policy it could lead to catastrophic consequences for the global energy market. Anti-Russia sanctions cause much more damage to those who introduce them, he said.

At the same time, the situation on the Russian energy market is stable despite the sanctions regime, the president explained. According to him, oil and gas condensate production in June reached 10.7 million barrels per day, which is 500,000 barrels more than in the previous month. Overall, Russia’s oil output jumped 3.5% since the start of the year. Gas production for the period from January to May decreased slightly, by merely 2%, the president added.

CDC Drops COVID-19 Death Numbers By Thousands

Skepticism about COVID-19 death numbers started toward the very beginning of the pandemic and now the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has admitted that they reported tens of thousands of COVID-19 fatalities incorrectly.

Recently, the CDC changed the death count and dropped the death count by 72,277. The error covered 26 states and the CDC included a footnote that said the overcount was due to a “coding logic error.”

The Daily Wire’s Mairead Elordi explained, “The CDC also noted that some jurisdictions also included probable COVID cases in their death count and that back in August, the data on COVID-19 deaths was changed after they identified a data discrepancy. So they’re pretty cryptic on what exactly these errors were and why they happened, but the end result is that COVID deaths were apparently significantly overcounted.”

Another coding logic error was discovered in March 2021 when the CDC dropped the COVID-19 death numbers by 24% among those under 18 years of age.

Elordi said, “The huge change in the pediatric death count drops the estimate of COVID deaths in children down to 1,341 nationwide. Children were about 19% of all cases but only about a quarter of a percent of those cases were fatal.”

Russia makes new Hunter Biden-related bio-lab claims

Moscow, citing a captured document, has claimed a Pentagon contractor was planning to study the deadly Ebola virus in Ukraine

Metabiota, a company financed by Hunter Biden’s fund, had set its sights on southwestern Ukraine to research the deadly Ebola virus, which is endemic to some parts of Africa, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed in its Friday briefing. Military officials cited a document that Russian troops had allegedly captured in the Eastern European country.

Mechnikov National University, which is located in the Ukrainian port city of Odessa, had supposedly been chosen by the American firm for its program.

The Russian military says its troops captured a document in Ukraine compiled by the Pentagon’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency – a body tasked with countering weapons of mass destruction. Covering the period from 2005 until 2016, the report purportedly outlines plans for the further development of military projects in Ukraine.

Metabiota and its involvement with the Ebola virus also feature in the document, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the ministry, Metabiota, a Pentagon contractor, had previously participated in dealing with the aftermath of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa.However, the company’s main objective had supposedly been collecting “highly virulent” strains of the virus and transporting them to the US.

The Russian military went on to claim that, considering the “clear discrepancy” between Metabiota’s activities and the actual fight against the deadly disease, Jarbas Barbosa, then-assistant director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), which is a branch of the World Health Organization (WHO), had allegedly recommended that the firm’s staff be withdrawn. The official was supposedly concerned that cooperation with the US company would undermine the WHO’s reputation.

“Seeing that the disease is not endemic and, moreover, has never been identified in Ukraine, a logical question arises as to the necessity of such research and its true goals,” Russian Defense Ministry officials noted.

Moscow claims all of this is “part of the US strategy to transfer research of particularly dangerous pathogens to third countries.”

Russian officials have also suggested that American society should get acquainted with the story and possibly raise questions regarding the US government’s activities, which are apparently in breach of the Biological Weapons Convention.

This is not the first time that officials in Moscow have accused the US of conducting secret studies involving deadly viruses and bacteria on Ukrainian soil.

Washington has consistently dismissed such allegations as fake.

Millions Of Canadians Can't Use Debit Cards Due To "Nationwide Internet Outage"

Canada's Rogers Communications Inc. reported widespread network outages on Friday morning, affecting financial institutions, government agencies, law enforcement, businesses, and wireless phone and home internet customers.

"We are aware of issues currently affecting our networks and our teams are fully engaged to resolve the issue as soon as possible," Toronto-based Rogers tweeted.

Customers were extremely angry with Rogers, responding to the tweet by saying:

"$400/mth for services I can't even f**king use. This company is and will always be a fking joke," one person said.

Another said: "for my American followers: Canada has only two companies with telecom infrastructure in the entire country and one of them is currently suffering a complete nationwide outage."

WSJ reports Rogers' customers first reported outages around 0400 ET. Police in Ottawa and Toronto warned residents of connection issues with the 9-1-1 emergency hotline.

"The outage, which appears bigger than the one last year that largely affected consumers, comes as Rogers is attempting to take over rival Shaw Communications," Reuters notes.

There were also significant issues with Interac, a Canadian e-transfer service, which tweeted around 1035ET about "nationwide Rogers outages," impacting debit-card transactions online and at checkout counters.

"This is impacting INTERAC Debit and INTERAC eTransfer. INTERAC Debit is currently unavailable online and at checkout," Interac tweeted.

The Canadian interbank network also said: "INTERAC e-Transfer services are unavailable at most financial institutions, impacting the ability to send and receive payments. We are waiting for updates from Rogers on their resolution."

A spokeswoman for Royal Bank of Canada told WSJ the widespread internet outage is affecting some of its lender's services across the country.

NetBlocks' real-time data confirmed a "major internet courage" across Canada where "national connectivity down to 75% of ordinary levels" this morning.

Vatican joins Paris Climate Agreement despite inclusion of abortion, population control agendas

The Holy See announced the move on Friday.

The Vatican announced today that it has formally joined the Paris Climate Agreement, known for its underlying abortion and population control agenda.

A statement issued by the Holy See Press Office said that Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia, Permanent Observer to the U.N., on June 6 deposited before the Secretary-General of the United Nations the Holy See’s Instrument of Accession, the formal document by which the Vatican joined the Paris Climate Agreement.

“The Holy See,” the statement reads, “in the name and on behalf of Vatican City State, intends to contribute and to give its moral support to the efforts of all states to cooperate … in an effective and appropriate response to the challenges posed by climate change to humanity and to our common home.”

The Vatican claims that in joining the Paris Agreement it is expressing its solidarity with the poor and future generations as those most affected by “climate change.”

As LifeSiteNews has previously reported, however, it has long been noted by pro-life advocates, that the 2015 Agreement includes an underlying agenda to push abortion, contraception, and sterilization as necessary means of controlling the population and minimizing human consumption and use of the earth’s resources. The way such things are imposed on poorer countries is by linking them to desired funds and resources.

In text of the Agreement, such issues are cloaked in phrases such as “gender equality” and “empowerment of women,” and are joined to the presumed need to address climate change in a “toss in everything” approach. The Agreement states:

Parties should, when taking action to address climate change, respect, promote and consider their respective obligations on human rights, the right to health, the rights of indigenous peoples, local communities, migrants, children, persons with disabilities and people in vulnerable situations and the right to development, as well as gender equality, empowerment of women and intergenerational equity.

Pro-life advocacy group Voice of the Family pointed out in 2015 when the Climate Agreement was first drafted that the U.N.’s “Sustainable Developments Goals use ‘gender equality’ and ’empowerment of women’ to advance abortion and contraception.”

Goal Five of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is to “achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls,” includes the following target, to be achieved by 2030: “ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights.”

Russia is using ‘only a fraction’ of its military capability in the neighboring country, spokesman said

President Vladimir Putin’s observation that Russian troops in Ukraine “haven’t even really started anything yet” simply states that Moscow is far superior in its military strength, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified on Friday.

On Thursday, Putin dared Western leaders who seek Russia’s defeat on the battlefield in Ukraine to deliver on the threat. “Let them try. We haven’t even really started anything yet,”he claimed.

The president “simply reminded [his audience] that the military potentials [of Ukraine and Russia] were incommensurable,” Peskov said.

“Russian strength is so vast that only a small fraction of it is engaged in the special military operation,” the official said.

Western expectations that Ukraine can defeat Russia militarily are “absurd and only add to the suffering of the Ukrainian people,” he added.

The US and its allies have declared as their goal in Ukraine a strategic defeat of Russia and are providing weapons and training to Kiev forces. Top Western officials have stated that Ukraine will be able to beat Russia on the battlefield with their help.

The Ukrainian government agreed and broke peace talks with Russia, which took place during the first month of the conflict. Moscow believes that Kiev was pressured into its uncompromising position by its Western backers.

Resigned UK Finance Minister Rishi Sunak is a top contender to be the new British Prime Minister, following Boris Johnson's resignation from the Conservative Party two days ago, Business Standard reported.

Sunak gained huge popularity during the Covid-19 pandemic after proposing a package worth tens of billions of pounds to support businesses and workers.

The Attorney General in the UK Cabinet from the Tory party, Suella Braverman, was early to formally declare her leadership bid. She is likely to win some support from the pro-Brexit wing of her party.

It is noteworthy that the Tory party's 1922 Committee would set a timetable for a leadership contest. For a Tory MP to enter the race for prime minister, they should be nominated by eight colleagues.

If more than one MP wanted to run as prime minister, a series of secret ballots would be held to settle for one Tory nominee.

The YouGov survey showed that Wallace has 13% support ahead of junior minister Penny Mordaunt on 12%, while Sunak is at 10% in the survey.

Jeremy Hunt, Former UK Foreign Secretary came in on a joint 5% alongside the new Chancellor and former Health and Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi.

Zahawi reportedly has been working with Australian political strategist Sir Lynton Crosby, the man behind Boris Johnson's 2019 electoral win.
