Shots were rfired today during the Fourth of July Parade in the northern Chicago suburb of Highland Park, Illinois. Mass panic ensued as the sound of gunshots erupted during holiday parade. Several people are reported to have been shot in the attack. A witness said one victim was killed.

Nearby towns have canceled their parades as a caution against similar attacks.

FOX News reporter Mike Tobin reported moments ago that there are reports that the shooter was firing at the crowd from “an elevated position” possibly from the rooftop of a building.

Tobin also said police are looking for the shooter and describe the scene as an active shooter situation.

Highland Park is a very liberal suburb of Chicago.

The veteran statesman said he never suggested that Ukraine should cede territory to Russia

The 99-year-old was commenting on remarks he made in May during a speech by video link to the World Economic Forum in Davos. He called for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine to start soon and warned that the West’s failure to account for Moscow’s security interests would pull it closer to China.

“Right now, Russia still occupies 15% of pre-war Ukrainian territory. It must be restored to Ukraine before a meaningful ceasefire can be established,” the former US secretary of state said in an interview with TIME magazine published on Sunday.

Kissinger believes that Crimea and the part of Donbass that was controlled by the Russia-allied forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics should be taken out of the immediate equation because they have “significance to Russia beyond the dispute of the current crisis.”

“I did not say that territory should be given up,” he stressed. “I just implied that it should have a separate status in any negotiations.”

Seattle police arrested a street preacher on charges of being a risk to public safety for reading his Bible aloud at a public park near an LGBT pride event.

Matthew Meinecke, who identifies himself as The Seattle Preacher on Twitter, was surrounded by Seattle police officers as he was reading his Bible and was subsequently arrested and fingerprinted at a police station before being released.

“SPD has enough resources to send 10 police officers to arrest a preacher reading his Bible in a public park. Because it's such a horrible crime now!” Meinecke wrote on Twitter, posting a video showing his arrest.

Lavrov: Russia will stand with Venezuela as US freezes foreign assets

Given that the US had frozen overseas assets for both Venezuela and Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, on Monday, that his country could help shield Venezuela’s economy from continuous US attempts to undermine it.

At a press conference in Moscow, after Russia had hosted Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faria, Lavrov declared that "we know how determined the Americans and their allies were and still are to undermine the Venezuelan economy. We can already see that these plans will not succeed. The Venezuelan economy is demonstrating the ability to withstand this pressure. Of course, we will help it in any way we can."

The two counterparts agreed that the US determination to block assets of sovereign states held in foreign accounts was “not just blatant robbery... but a gross violation of social and economic rights of the citizens," Lavrov said.

In the past months, the United States has been spearheading a western campaign to impose sanctions on Russia in light of the war in Ukraine, which saw Moscow coming under a tide of draconian comprehensive sanctions, including restrictions on the Russian central bank, export control measures, SWIFT cutoff for select banks, and closure of airspace to all Russian flights. Many of their companies have suspended their Russian operations.

On June 2, the British newspaper The Guardian said Russia is winning the economic war the western nations have been waging with an aim to force it to back down on Ukraine.

Economic sanctions against Moscow resulted in a hike in the prices of global fuel and food, which boosted Russia's trade balance, financed its operation, and put a significant strain on Western economies, according to the daily.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, said that Europe is "dancing" on the brink of a global economic crisis because of sanctions against Russia.

Mexican President Obrador Suggests Dismantling Statue of Liberty if Assange Convicted in US

The Mexican president has once again said that he was willing to provide asylum to Julian Assange, adding that he would raise the case during his meeting with Joe Biden next week.

The Statue of Liberty should be dismantled if WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is convicted in the United States, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said during a Monday press conference.

"If he is brought to the US and given the maximum sentence, [sentenced to] death in prison, a campaign should be launched to dismantle the Status of Liberty in New York that was gifted by the French, because it will no longer be a symbol of freedom," the president explained.

Obrador added that he would raise the case of Assange during his talks with Joe Biden in Washington, DC, next week.

Last month, Obrador said that he was willing to provide the WikiLeaks founder an asylum in Mexico, and stressed that he would call on Biden to drop charges against Assange during their meeting.

"Julian Assange is the best journalist of our time in the world and he has been treated very unfairly, worse than a criminal. This is a shame for the world,” he said, adding that his call for charges to be dropped would disappoint US hawks but insisted that “humanity must prevail.”

The Mexican president previously appealed to the former POTUS, Donald Trump, to drop charges against the Australian journalist.

Obrador also said he was disappointed by UK Home Secretary Priti Patel’s decision to greenlight Assange's extradition to the US, where he faces up to 175 years behind bars under the Espionage Act.

WikiLeaks lambasted the move as "a dark day for Press freedom and for British democracy," calling Patel "an accomplice to the United States in its agenda to turn investigative journalism into a criminal enterprise."

"Anyone in this country who cares about freedom of expression should be deeply ashamed that the Home Secretary has approved the extradition of Julian Assange to the United States, the country that plotted his assassination", the organisation stated.

Turkey's annual inflation rate jumped to 78.6 percent in June, the highest in 24 years, according to official figures released on Monday, as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's unorthodox economic policies continue to take their toll.

The statistics released by Turkey's state agency are the highest since January 1998.

Turkey's official inflation rate was above 70% in April, according to figures released on Thursday, posing a significant challenge to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government.

Economy Minister Nureddin Nebati "promised" on Friday that consumer prices will begin to fall in December.

According to the report, headline inflation was driven by a 123.4 % increase in transportation costs and a 94% increase in non-alcoholic beverages.

The price of home products increased by 81.1%, according to the statistics office.

Turkey's economic crisis began last year when Erdogan compelled the central bank to implement a series of interest rate cuts.

Despite growing consumer prices, the policy rate was reduced.

However, Turkey's leader defies mainstream economics and believes that high-interest rates induce price increases.

Turkey hiked the minimum wage significantly for the second time in a year on Friday to cushion the shock to households.

The increase in net monthly take-home pay to 5,500 liras ($330) implies that the nominal minimum salary has nearly quadrupled since last year's conclusion.

In late December, it was 2,826 liras, and in January, it was 4,253 liras.

Economists warn that significantly enhancing the salary of a broad segment of the population would cause inflation and should be accompanied by interest rate rises or other measures of restricting expenditure.

According to official figures, more than 40% of Turks earned the minimum wage at the start of the year.

Last month, the EMK (the Dutch fishermen’s union) announced their intention to join the farmers in protest, saying the government’s nitrogen policy will prevent ships from fishing off the coast of Holland.

Videos have now emerged showing several fishing boats collectively attempting to block ports at IJmuiden, Harlingen, while the port of Lauwerszoog was blocked last night along with other exits.

According to the NL Times, earlier today, the fisherman also managed to shut down the ferry service to Texel, with the service stating that “It is wise not to come to the ferry terminal.”

Besides the nitrogen emissions cap, which will utterly decimate the farming and aviation industries, fishermen are demanding the government provides relief for skyrocketing gas prices that have impacted their businesses.

“If there isn’t concrete support soon, Dutch fishing will be heading for extinction. First, it’s the farmers, and we are next in line. The government used to take care of food security, but not anymore,” said fisherman Robin Dekker in an interview.

“In the short term, the government must simply do what France and Germany are doing – provide fishing with fuel compensation. Europe can do that, so why is minister Staghouwer still hesitating? Does he also want to put us out of business, just like the farmers?”

Russian forces boost numbers after Turkey threatens operation in Syria

Since the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine and the Turkish threat to launch a new military offensive in Syria, Russia has increased the number of its deployed forces in Northern Syria by about a third, as confirmed by Al Mayadeen sources.

The sources indicated that "two Russian cargo planes (Yuchen) arrived on Sunday at Qamishli Airport,” adding that these measures are part of Russia’s military measures in the region. According to Mehr, the planes were carrying more than 500 soldiers from the Russian paratroopers unit.

Furthermore, the sources revealed that Qamishli’s geographical location plays a significant role in its proximity to the “illegal bases of the American occupation in the province of Hasaka, and the fact that it is in contact with the Turkish border, which is, at the same time, a border for NATO."

The same sources pointed out that the current increase in the number of ground forces has been accompanied by an increase in its air force fleet about a month ago where “two warplanes and 6 combat helicopters arrived at the area and were added to the air forces previously stationed at the airport."

Given that information, and according to Al Mayadeen sources, "Al-Qamishli base became the second most important Russian base, after the Hmeimim base, in terms of armament and number of personnel, which gives an indication that the region may witness new developments.”

In the previous weeks, there have been indications that “Turkey will launch an imminent military attack after bringing in large military reinforcements, and conducting Ground maneuvers between the Turkish army and factions known as the "National Army"."

On May 23, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that "the Turkish army intends to carry out anti-terror military operations at the Turkish state borders," noting that "the decision on these operations will be taken soon."

Commenting on this, the Russian envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, said the possible Turkish military operation in northern Syria would create "new security threats" to Turkey, as "the Kurdistan Workers' Party and the SDF will not disappear under this scenario."

Lavrentiev added that "Russia will try to convince Turkey of the futility of the possible military operation in northern Syria," stressing that his country "will not fight the Turkish forces and the “National Army" affiliated with Ankara."

Earlier on Monday, July 4, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that Turkey believes Russia would not interfere with the operation of Turkish offensive forces in northern Syria, although tensions persist.

Russia Declares Donbass Republic 'Fully Liberated'; U.S. Media Begins Walking Back 'Rosy' Coverage of Ukraine

The last remnants of Ukrainian forces have been driven out of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announced on Sunday. He reported the news to President Vladimir Putin, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Shoigu said Russian troops and Donbass forces had completely seized Lisichansk, the last major city which had remained under Ukrainian control since 2014, when the LPR declared its independence shortly after a coup in Kiev.

Russia and Ukraine reported heavy fighting around Lisichansk earlier this week, with the most fierce combat occurring at the city’s oil refinery.

News of the capture of Lisichansk comes after Ukrainian troops retreated from Severodonetsk, a nearby city on the opposite side of the Seversky Donets River, last week. The fighting for Severodonetsk had lasted for several months.

Russia sent troops into Ukraine on February 24, citing Kiev’s failure to implement the Minsk agreements, designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state. The protocols, brokered by Germany and France, were first signed in 2014. Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has since admitted that Kiev’s main goal was to use the ceasefire to buy time and “create powerful armed forces.”

In February 2022, the Kremlin recognized the Donbass republics as independent states and demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join any Western military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked.

The Washington Post on Saturday ran an article stating that among "analysts and U.S. lawmakers" some are "questioning whether American officials have portrayed the crisis in overly rosy terms."

"U.S. officials acknowledge that as Russian forces have massed firepower, they have gradually seized territory in eastern Ukraine," the Post reported. "That includes capturing the strategically important city of Severodonetsk in June and pressing to do the same in its nearby sister city of Lysychansk. Russia claimed control of the latter city on Sunday, while Ukrainian officials acknowledged their military had withdrawn."

Remember how the media refused to acknowledge Azov surrendered in Azovstal back in May? We're seeing similar now with their refusal to acknowledge Russia's victory over the Donbass.

Taking control of the Donbass has been Putin's stated goal for months (after it became clear Kiev wasn't going to fall in a week).

On Friday, June 3rd, CISA released its much-anticipated report on Dominion Voting Machines before the weekend news break.

A week earlier, CNN admitted that Dominion Voting Machine Software has flaws that can be exploited.

The individual who was performing the investigation was no fan of President Trump. He released the report from his work and this was covered up immediately by corrupt Obama Judge Amy Totenberg, who we wrote about this morning. Judge Totenberg has withheld this report to this day. This is just another example of judicial overreach and corruption and coverup of the 2020 Election steal.

On Friday the government agency, CISA, released a report that was in response to the issues identified in the Halderman report. We know this because the CISA report says so:

J. Alex Halderman, University of Michigan, and Drew Springall, Auburn University, reported these vulnerabilities to CISA.

The report then lists a number of significant issues with the election system that ran the 2020 Election in Georgia. In the corporate world, a system like this would be thrown out and replaced before ever being put in use, but this is the state government in Georgia and we have seen over the past few years how inept and unprincipled these state governments can be.

The corrupt actors in Georgia, including the Secretary of State and Judge Totenberg, ensured that the Dominion system remains in place with the material issues included in the Halderman report and described in the CISA report.

Here is a list of material weaknesses embedding the Dominion system used in Georgia according to CISA. In its vulnerability review CISA now admits that the Dominion Voting Systems allow for access from almost anyone, allows for malicious software to be loaded on a device, allows for attackers to use a different mode on the system, and print a number of ballots without detection:

NATO to sign protocol accepting Finland, Sweden accession

The formal procedure to join the Western military alliance is currently being discussed by Sweden and Finland with NATO authorities in Brussels. This would be a significant change from the Nordic nations' long-standing military nonalignment policies.

The July 4 negotiations, which come after an accord with NATO member Turkey last week that saw Ankara give up its opposition to their membership, are being led by Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde and her Finnish counterpart Pekka Haavisto.

The accession protocols for Sweden and Finland are anticipated to be signed by ambassadors from the 30 NATO members on July 5. The approval of their memberships by all alliance members is thus likely to take a few months.

Ankara initially declared that it would block their membership due to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's accusations that they support what he dubbed "terrorism and provide safe havens for Kurdish militants operating in Turkey."

However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has lately dropped weeks of opposition to Sweden and Finland joining NATO.

Last week, Erdogan declared victory after securing a 10-point agreement in which the two countries agreed to join Turkey's "fight against banned Kurdish militants and to quickly extradite suspects."

Turkey put the agreement to the test right away when it announced that it would seek the extradition of 12 suspects from Finland and 21 from Sweden. "We ask them to fulfill their promises," Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said in a statement.

In response, Sweden insisted that any decision to extradite "Kurdish militants and coup plot suspects" to Turkey would be made by "independent courts".

Justice Minister Morgan Johansson said in a written statement as quoted by AFP that "in Sweden, Swedish law is applied by independent courts. Swedish citizens are not extradited. Non-Swedish citizens can be extradited at the request of other countries, but only if it is compatible with Swedish law and the European Convention."

On Monday, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that once Finland and Sweden join NATO, the Baltic Sea will be under their full control.

"The Baltic Sea is essentially poised to become NATO's internal basin. Two very powerful nations with a long and strong military tradition will become part of NATO soon, extending the Russia-NATO border by 1,400 kilometers [870 miles]," Duda said during a national security council meeting.

Recently, both NATO and Russia have been keeping a close eye on the Baltic Sea, where Moscow has recently been conducting naval drills and exercises.

In May, Russia withdrew from the Council of Baltic Sea States, stressing that the withdrawal will not affect Russia's presence in the area.

In April, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance may increase its presence around Sweden and the Baltic Sea to "protect the country from Russian meddling during a potential membership application."

"We must remember that from the moment Sweden potentially applies, and NATO says that it wants Sweden to join, there is a very strong NATO obligation to guarantee Sweden's security", Stoltenberg told Swedish public television SVT.

While NATO, in June, conducted military drills coinciding with the decision to increase troop presence in Europe to 300,000, Russia has also been conducting military drills in the sea.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) on Monday immediately called for gun control following a mass shooting at a July 4 parade in Highland Park.

Highland Park police gave an update on the rooftop sniper attack on the northern Illinois Chicago suburb’s Fourth of July parade Monday:

Six people are dead and twenty-four “seriously injured” were taken to the hospital.

The suspect is at large.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18-20 years old with long black hair, small build wearing a white or blue t-shirt

Police also said it appears the gunman was firing from a rooftop, could not confirm he had more than one weapon but should be considered armed.

Illinois Governor Pritzker condemned gun violence after he asked for prayers for the families devastated by the mass shooting.

Burhan: Army to withdraw from political talks, technocrat gov't onset

The Head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said the army will be withdrawing from ongoing political talks and allow political and revolutionary groups to form a government of technocrats to lead the transition.

His sovereign council will be dissolved after the new government is formed, said Burhan.

The decision was taken "to make room for political and revolutionary forces and other national factions" to form a civilian government, he said, months after the October coup ousted civilians from a transitional administration.

"The armed forces will not stand in the way" of democratic transition, Burhan said in his address, affirming the military's commitment to working towards "elections in which the Sudanese people choose who will govern them."

Sudan has been grappling with political turmoil since October 25, 2021. Toward the end of June, four Sudanese demonstrators were killed after being shot in the chest with a live round in the city of Omdurman as per the Central Committee of Sudan Doctors (CCSD).

On October 25 last year, Al-Burhan spearheaded a military coup that halted a collaboration between the army and civilian parties that was supposed to lead to democratic elections, igniting months of protests and international condemnation.

Anti-coup protests have been mounting in the capital, Khartoum, for the fifth day in a row. Protesters took to the streets to demand civil rule and an end to the military coup executed by the army last year.

Three physicians are suing Twitter, alleging the company violated its own terms of service and community standards when it suspended their accounts for posting “truthful statements regarding COVID-19 policy, diagnosis and/or treatment.”

Drs. Robert Malone, Peter McCullough and Bryan Tyson on Monday filed the lawsuit in Superior Court in California, San Francisco County.

The complaint alleges Twitter breached the terms of its contract when it permanently suspended the plaintiffs’ accounts, silenced their voices and failed to provide them with “verified” badges.

Plaintiffs allege Twitter’s actions were a substantial factor in causing them harm, and are asking the judge to order Twitter to reactivate their accounts.

Matthew Tyson on May 12, sent a letter to the directors and managing agents of Twitter requesting the company reinstate the accounts of five physicians, including the plaintiffs, and provide them with “verified” badges. Twitter failed to respond.

In the letter, Matthew Tyson acknowledged Twitter is a “private company” and its terms state it can “suspend user accounts for any or no reason.”

“However, Twitter also implemented specific community standards to limit COVID-19 misinformation on the platform, and Twitter was bound to follow those terms,” he added.

According to the complaint, Twitter’s content-moderation terms included removal procedures for ineffective treatments and false diagnostic criteria, and measures for “labeling” information as “misleading.”

Twitter has a “five-strike policy” as part of its COVID-19 misinformation guidelines and community standards.

The state prosecutor of Uzbekistan reported on Monday that 18 people were killed amid unrest in the Karakalpakstan region last week, following protests over planned constitutional amendments impacting the territory's status.

Uzbekistan's parliament decided on Monday to extend the term of public debate on the proposed constitutional law for another ten days, until July 15, according to MP Bobur Bekmurodov on Twitter.

The autonomous republic's constitutional right to secede from Uzbekistan is a relic of a post-Soviet Union deal reached between Karakalpakstan and the central authority in Tashkent.

The regime has never shown inclined to consider the possibility. One provision that will stay in the draft text allows presidents to run for seven-year periods, which will directly benefit Mirziyoyev, who defeated token opponents to gain a second five-year term in October 2021.

Italy declares emergency in 5 regions as drought hits

On Monday, Italy designated emergency funds and a state of emergency in five northern areas due to a drought that has been ravaging the Po Valley for several weeks and is only getting worse. The Cabinet has given the go-ahead for a state of emergency to last until December 31 in five regions: Friuli-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Piedmont, and Veneto.

The government also announced a $39.5 million fund to aid people in need as Italy experienced an early heatwave and a drought that is the worst in 70 years. The state of emergency provides "extraordinary means and powers" to help guarantee public safety and compensation for losses while also looking to guarantee normal living conditions for those in the region.

In accordance with Italy’s major agricultural union, Coldiretti, the drought threatens not only 30% of the national agricultural production but also half of the farms in the Po Valley.

Furthermore, the levels of water have dropped, relative to the given time of year, at the two lakes Maggiore and Garda. In addition, even the southern Tiber River, which runs through Rome, has also witnessed a drop in water levels.

The Po is the biggest water reservoir on the peninsula, and farmers utilize a lot of it to sustain themselves. As a result of the climate crisis, several towns have announced limitations on water consumption. For example, Milan has declared the closing of its ornamental fountains, while Verona, a city of 25,000, has restricted the usage of drinking water.

The drought has also resulted in a dramatic decline in hydroelectric power generation. Nearly 20% of the nation's energy production is generated by hydroelectric facilities, the majority of which are located in the mountainous north of the country.

The revelation comes a day after a glacier fell in the Italian Alps claimed at least seven lives and was "without doubt" related to global warming, according to Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

Doctor at Scene of Highland Park Fourth of July Parade Mass Shooting Describes ‘Horrific’ ‘Wartime’ Injuries of Dead and Survivors

Dr. David Baum, who says he was at the Highland Park, Illinois Fourth of July parade Monday morning when the rooftop sniper opened fire on the parade, told WMAQ-TV the dead and the wounded had “horrific” wounds that are seen in war. Baum said he performed CPR on a wounded child. Police report six people died–five declared dead at the scene–and twenty-six were wounded in the attack.

Dr. Baum “…All of a sudden you heard these Howitzer-type noises going off. Pow! Pow! I mean a sound I’d never heard before. Um, ten seconds later you hear people screaming, “Bodies down! bodies down!”, and everyone starts scattering. The people who were gone were quickly identified by the paramedics, because they had horrific injuries–the kind of injuries you probably see in wartime, the kinds of injuries that only probably happen when bullets can blow bodies up. And these bodies were, they were gone. They covered ’em up immediately and went on to trying to get other people out. I helped, we, we helped try to move people to a staging area where the ambulances were coming. That’s all we were doing. We didn’t, you know, there was only so much people could do, but, you know.”

Reporter: “I think you, you said earlier when you spoke to us earlier on, on the phone that one of the people you helped was a young child.”

Dr. Baum: There was a young child there that people were, I was doing a little CPR until the paramedics got there. And he looked horribly injured, I’m not sure of exactly of the injury. LA City Council Votes To Ban Homeless Encampments Near Schools

A hearing to reconsider an ordinance banning homeless encampments within 500 feet of schools and daycare centers is set for July 27 after the Los Angeles City Council failed to give the proposal its unanimous approval.

The council voted 10-1 in favor of the ordinance, with Councilman Mike Bonin dissenting. Since the vote was not unanimous, the matter will return to the council for a second vote following the summer recess.

The vote on June 1 came during a sometimes-raucous meeting that was repeatedly interrupted by shouting from the audience.

The ordinance is an amendment to the city’s sweeping law regulating the location of homeless encampments. Municipal Code 41.18 prohibits sitting, sleeping, lying or otherwise obstructing the public right of way in several areas of the city.

Those areas include within 2 feet of any fire hydrant or fire plug; within 5 feet of any operational or utilizable entrance or exit; within 10 feet of a loading dock or driveway; in a manner that interferes with any activity for which the city has issued a permit or restricts accessible passage as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act; or anywhere within a street, including bike paths.

The law already protects the public right of way within 500 feet of “sensitive” facilities such as schools, day care facilities, parks and libraries—but only if each specific location is designated by the council for enforcement.

The amendment given tentative approval on July 1, and approved last week by the council’s Homelessness and Poverty Committee, is a blanket ban on encampments within 500 feet of all schools.

Councilmen Mitch O’Farrell and Paul Krekorian spoke in favor of the ordinance, dismissing allegations by opponents that the council is only trying to cover up the homelessness issue rather than address it through housing and services.

Multiple opponents of the measure began shouting from the audience as the councilmen spoke, bringing the meeting to a halt while Council President Nury Martinez issued warnings then ordered at least three people to be ejected from the council chamber. O’Farrell and Krekorian, both visibly angered, said the conduct exemplified the “bullying” tactics of some organizations. O’Farrell accused them of spreading “disinformation.”

“You can protest all you want, but it doesn’t change the truth,” O’Farrell said. “The truth is the city is engaged in housing people. It is our focus.”

Found a huge coincidence with this Highland Park shooter. Andy Ngo posted a pic of him, with a 47 tat on his face. Look at drop #47 then lyrics and graphics pulled from one of his YouTube rap vids. Sounds like another MK shooter to me.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says discussions are happening about encouraging mask uptake in some areas

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has weighed in on whether Queensland would re-introduce a mask mandate amid a rise in COVID-19 cases.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk had admitted discussions are underway to encourage the uptake of mask wearing in certain situations as COVID-19 cases surge.

She however stopped short of mandating the use of masks when asked during a press conference on Monday afternoon.

“We are not doing a mask mandate but there are discussions happening about urging people in certain situations to wear masks,” she told reporters.

“If anything changes, we will let the public know.”

Queensland's Chief Health Officer Dr John Gerrard earlier said there was "increasing pressure" nationally to make masks mandatory for residents again as the country moves deeper into winter.

"Philosophically we want to move away from restrictions towards more self-responsibility, and that means being up-to-date with your vaccines," Dr Gerrard told 4BC on Friday.

"I can say that nationally, there is increasing pressure, there is a school of thought, that we should be mandating masks again."

Ms Palaszczuk said she had been advised by the state’s Health Minister, Yvette D’Ath, that hospitalisations with COVID-19 are set to increase as colder weather comes.

According to Queensland Health, there are 598 people in hospital and a further 16 in ICU.

The number of Queenslanders in hospital is set to increase to 613, the Premier said, as she encouraged residents to monitor their symptoms.

“I do want to say to Queenslanders that COVID is out there, there’s a lot of people out there that do have it,” she said.

“Please make sure that you are monitoring your symptoms.

“If you have not had COVID, please take care but as a general rule – if you are sick, please stay at home.

A Canadian girl who vanished without a trace last month has been found alive in the US - and a man police say was behind the disappearance has been arrested.

The 13-year-old victim - who DailyMail.com will not identify due to her age - was reportedly uninjured when cops discovered her in an Oregon City hotel Saturday, nearly 1,000 miles from her home in Alberta.

The girl, who disappeared on June 24, was discovered following a week-long search that spanned two countries and thousands of miles, with the teen's face plastered on billboards all over Canada.

The FBI and Oregon police have since arrested 40-year-old Noah Madrano, of Gladstone - a small suburb near Oregon City - in connection with the girl's disappearance.

Records show the man is charged with raping the eighth grader - who cops say he met on social media.

Madrano - the producer and host for a popular Portland radio station - is expected to face additional charges in Canada as well.

Madrano, who lives in Oregon, is currently being held on those prospective charges by Oregon City police, and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
