NATO buildup continues
This episode of MonkeyWerx is a little bit sobering anons. I watched it to learn a little about the Chinese cargo planes that flew to Serbia.
Basically they brought in surface to air missile systems, and they have actually been helping Serbia build up for some time. This is an escalation, in the sense that the US has air bases nearby in Bosnia. It can potentially be seen as a counter-move to NATO's buildup of40,000 troops so farin the region.
Tempo of cargo and probably troops is continuing as it has for a few months now from the US, with no one talking about backing down.

Twenty-two state attorneys general, led by Montana and West Virginia, have petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court over a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) rule they argue would immediately transform hundreds of thousands of law-abiding gun owners into criminals.
Through its rulemaking, the ATF is attempting to regulate bump-stock accessories by claiming that they transform the firearms they attach to into machine guns as defined by the National Firearms Act of 1934.
The AGs filed an amicus brief in support of Gun Owners of America, Inc., which sued U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, and are asking the court to hear the case after the full Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals was evenly split on the issue.
The ATF’s rule is a way for the federal agency to circumvent Congress and rewrite law that only Congress has the authority to do, the AGs argue.
“The Final Rule effectively transforms commonly owned firearms into banned machine guns simply because of the use of non-mechanical bump-stock accessories. This interpretation categorically expands the text of the criminal statute in a way that Congress couldn’t possibly have intended,” they argue in their brief. “And it expands criminal liability at the expense of Second Amendment rights, diminishing the latter absent a sufficient and compelling justification. When the ATF – or any agency – invades protected rights by interpreting statutes too broadly, this Court should step in.”
A bump stock, or stabilizing brace, isn’t a weapon. It’s a device that attaches to the rear of a pistol and slips around the user’s forearm. They're often used to reduce recoil, prevent injury, and allow the user to more safely and accurately fire their gun. They don’t transform semi-automatic rifles into automatic machine guns. Tens of millions of stabilizing braces are sold nationwide.
“The significance of this case goes beyond any firearm accessory and gun rights. No federal agency should be able to create criminal code without Congressional authorization,” Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen said. “The Supreme Court must take up this important case to uphold the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment and affirm this important check on the federal executive’s power.”
West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said the ATF doesn’t “get to overrule the Constitutional rights of firearm owners across the nation.”
Morrisey also points out that the ATF has recognized that “bump firing” has been around for as long as there have been semi-automatic firearms and common items like rubber bands, belt loops, and shoestrings can all be used to the same effect as bump stocks, which the ATF is attempting to criminalize.
“Actions like the ATF’s do not just violate important principles of administrative law. They also illustrate how the government can endanger fundamental rights through creeping, incremental, and seemingly benign regulatory depredations,” the AGs argue in their brief. “If Congress had wanted to categorically expand the NFA to cover semiautomatic firearms that use a bump-stock accessory, it would – and must – have done so explicitly.”
Judges on a Sixth Circuit panel ruled against ATF last March, concluding that bump stocks don’t transform commonly used semi-automatic firearms into machine guns. However, when brought before the full Sixth Circuit Court, the judges were evenly split, resulting in the lower district court’s ruling being upheld, allowing the ATF’s rule to stand.
Attorneys general from West Virginia, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming signed the amicus brief.

Soros-funded Arizona Secretary of state Katie Hobbs has knowingly and intentionally violated Arizona election law after several warnings from the Arizona Attorney General.
Katie Hobbs stole the 2020 election, and she is going to do it again in 2022.
After repeated warnings from Attorney General Mark Brnovich and a failed lawsuit to prevent her own indictment, corrupt Katie Hobbs defied election law and shut down the online candidate petition form but only for certain candidates on March 17th. This shutdown did not affect her failing campaign for Arizona Governor or other statewide races.
ARS 16-316 states,
the secretary of state shall provide a system for qualified electors to sign a nomination petition … for [candidates for statewide and legislative offices] by way of a secure internet portal.
The Gateway Pundit reported yesterday that the Attorney General finally referred a criminal case against Katie Hobbs for her clear-cut election law violations. Brnovich delegated his powers to investigate Hobbs and enforce the law against her to Cochise County Attorney Brian McIntyre.
Due to Katie Hobbs’ deliberate malfeasance, candidates now struggle to meet the signature requirement before the Monday, April 4th deadline. Only wet ink signatures can be accepted.
This will disenfranchise voters and candidates, especially in larger rural districts.
ARS 16-1010 states,
16-1010. Refusal by election officer to perform duty; violation of election law; classification
A person charged with performance of any duty under any law relating to elections who knowingly refuses to perform such duty, or who, in his official capacity, knowingly acts in violation of any provision of such law, is guilty of a class 6 felony unless a different punishment for such act or omission is prescribed by law.
Hobbs was warned by the Attorney General and a Superior Court Judge before intentionally violating election law.

Arizona State Representative Mark Finchem appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room to tell us what this means for Katie Hobbs.
Bannon: What did Brnovich do? She’s broken so many laws. What did Brnovich do? And I noticed this is not about 2020. What has she done recently that’s worse than she did in 2020. And why is Brnovich not prosecuting her himself on criminal charges? Why is he kicking it down to some County?
Finchem: First off, the reason it was referred to Cochise County is because Katie Hobbs and Brnovich were already in court on this, so he’s conflicted out. Basically, what he’s calling her out for is a memo from January 16th, I believe, where he explicitly told her, if you take the online petition gathering tool that is required by law, mandated by law that the Secretary of State maintain; if you take that down before the end of the collection period, you’re committing a class six felony or class three misdemeanor depending upon the facts and circumstances. She did it anyhow. And the reality of that is it doesn’t affect statewide offices like the one that she’s running for, but it does affect legislative offices. That means that rural legislators, and even some of the folks in suburban Arizona, are unable to collect signatures online. And this is leading up to we’re just days away from the close of the nomination petition collection period. So, what she’s done is she has interfered with the political process of candidates getting on the ballot. That is serious. And this woman has been lawless all throughout this last year.
Bannon: So is this going to lead to a criminal process? They’re trying to clearly change the makeup of the legislature. They understand they don’t like Republicans, although you guys are right at the cusp of both, they want to tip it back to Democrats. Is she going to be able to accomplish that, and is she going to actually be charged and gone after on criminal charges, or is this just more of a hopium?
Finchem: I don’t think this is hopium, Steve. The referral of this to a county prosecutor is a pretty serious matter, and Cochise County is a fairly conservative County. It’s a rural county. So this is one of those counties that would be affected by the kind of activity that Hobbs is engaged in. I think this is very serious. You’ve got evidence, clear-cut evidence, you’ve got a warning. In fact, I think she got two warnings. So you have an act. You’re able to show that there was premeditation here, so she knowingly did this. I don’t see how this doesn’t end up in some kind of a conviction. I think it will go to court. She’s going to try and defend herself. Obviously, she’s going to make all kinds of claims, but at the end of the day, she committed a crime.
The prosecution can easily prove the actus reus and mens rea to charge Katie Hobbs with an election crime. Hobbs belongs in prison.
Cochise County Attorney Brian McIntyre must do the right thing.
Contact Cochise County Attorney Brian McIntyre and demand Katie Hobbs’ arrest before she can steal another election.

Dr. David Moylan III, the Schuylkill County coroner, told The Pottsville Republican-Herald on Friday that “we need to get some DNA samples” from relatives of the four men and two women killed in the March 28 crash on I-81.
Officials said earlier that the victims of the March 28 crash near the Minersville exit of I-81 were all between 40 to 70 years old and all burned beyond recognition. Two dozen people were injured.

A missile attack on a railway station in Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine involving a Tochka-U missile used primarily by Ukraine has been blamed squarely on Russia instead.
This is despite now a serial number on the missile only several digits off of other missiles used against Donbas by Ukraine.
Russia claims it does not use Tochka-U missiles anymore - but “OSINT” accounts on Twitter have claimed the presence of BAZ 6-wheeled vehicles in Belarus “prove” otherwise. I explain why it doesn’t.
The West admits it is waging an information war to compensate for Ukraine’s military weakness - and combined with the fact that Russia incriminating itself in such an attack which serves no tactical or strategic purpose - casts further doubts on Western accusations that it was Russia.

Police are investigating a shooting and a possible explosion at a Brooklyn train station where as many as five people have been injured, according to police and preliminary reports.
The mayhem began just before 8:30 a.m. inside the R train station at the corner of 36th St. and Fourth Ave. in Sunset Park.
Multiple witnesses called 911 about an explosion with four people either shot or hit by shrapnel, according to preliminary reports. A fifth person was found shot on 25th St. and Fourth Ave. — about 11 blocks from the incident.
One of the victims was unconscious, according to preliminary reports from radio chatter.
It was not immediately clear if this happened on the platform or on the train. The person responsible was last seen on a train exiting the station, leaving “a package” behind, according to reports.
An NYPD spokeswoman said there were reports of smoke coming from the station and “possible people shot,” but had no further information. Police and members of the NYPD Bomb Squad were heading to the area with caution.

Commercial traffic at a key South Texas border crossing has stopped after Mexican truckers on Monday blocked north- and southbound lanes on the Mexico side of the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge in protest of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s decision to have state troopers inspect northbound commercial vehicles — historically a job done by the federal government.
The bridge connecting Pharr and Reynosa is the busiest trade crossing in the Rio Grande Valley and handles the majority of the produce that crosses into the U.S. from Mexico, including avocados, broccoli, peppers, strawberries and tomatoes. On Monday, with trucks backed up for miles in Reynosa for the fifth day in a row, some produce importers in Texas said they have waited days for their goods to arrive and already had buyers cancel orders.
International bridges elsewhere in the Valley, as well as in Eagle Pass, El Paso and Laredo, have also seen delays, with many commercial products produced in Mexico — like electronics, vehicle parts and medical instruments — also held up.
In response to the Biden administration’s recent announcement that it plans to end Title 42 — a pandemic-era emergency health order that lets federal officials turn away migrants at the border without the chance to request asylum — Abbott on Wednesday ordered the Texas Department of Public Safety to increase its inspections of commercial vehicles, which he said drug cartels use to smuggle humans and drugs into the United States.
At times, DPS troopers appear to be checking every commercial vehicle that crosses select international bridges, with each inspection taking between 45 minutes and an hour.
Mexican news outlets reported that about 500 truckers are blocking southbound traffic into Mexico to prevent the entrance of U.S. trucks. Truckers told El Mañana in Reynosa that they had waited three to four days at the international bridge and were running out of fuel while they waited.
One trucker told the news outlet that prior to Abbott’s order, he made two crossings into the U.S. a day. Now, he’d be lucky to have one or two a week given the long delays at the bridges.

At least three people were injured Tuesday morning in a gruesome incident in a Brooklyn subway station, officials said.
The bloody incident broke out around 8:30 a.m. at the 36th Street station for the D, N, R lines in Sunset Park.
Graphic photos showing blood-stained subway platform floors and injured people have emerged on social media at the station but it was still unclear what unfolded with unconfirmed reports of an explosion or a mass shooting.
The NYPD’s bomb squad is on the scene investigating.
A spokesman for the FDNY said multiple undetonated devices were found.
The suspect is believed to be dressed in some sort of construction garb, similar to an MTA worker, sources said.

Whoopi Goldberg to be absent from ‘The View’ for ‘a while,’ Joy Behar says
Whoopi Goldberg will be taking a break from her duties on “The View” in the coming days – an absence that co-panelist Joy Behar attributed to filming obligations for an acting gig.
Behar addressed Goldberg’s plans at the start of Monday’s broadcast of the daytime talk show, which featured former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin as a guest host alongside Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro.
“If you’re wondering where Whoopi is, the girl’s got a movie she’s making and she will be back when she finishes whatever she’s doing,” Behar said. “So she’s gone for a while.”
Behar didn’t provide further details about how long Goldberg would be absent from the show.
Goldberg, 66, is set to appear on the upcoming Amazon Studios project “Anansi Boys,” an adaptation of author Neil Gaiman’s novel. She will play “Bird Woman” – described as one of the show’s “key antagonists.”
An ABC representative said Goldberg is expected to be filming her part for the next few weeks – a period that includes “The View’s” hiatus during the week of April 18.
Goldberg was spotted at a restaurant in Scotland, where the show is currently being filmed.
“I have been a fan of this book for a very long time and when Neil Gaiman told me it was being brought to the screen, I did everything I could to be part of it to help make people aware of Anansi and all his magic,” Goldberg said in a statement on the role last week.
Goldberg’s absence follows a tumultuous period in her tenure on “The View.”
ABC suspended Goldberg from “The View” for two weeks earlier this year. The suspension came after Goldberg faced widespread condemnation for declaring during a segment that the Holocaust was “not about race.”
Goldberg later apologized.
“The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver [sic]. I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused,” she tweeted.
Despite the apology, a source told The Post that Goldberg was “livid” over the suspension – to the point that she threatened to leave the show entirely.

New York’s Lieutenant Governor Has Been Indicted for Campaign Finance Scheme

New York’s Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin (D), the second-in-command to Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), surrendered to federal authorities on Tuesday on a bribery conspiracy indictment accusing him of scheming to funnel money to a prior campaign.
The five-count indictment dates back to before Benjamin’s tenure as a New York state senator from 2019 until early 2021, before he became Hochul’s top lieutenant. Prosecutors say that he participated in a scheme to obtain campaign contributions from a real estate developer in return for using his senatorial position to help obtain a $50,000 for a non-profit organization controlled by that developer.
The allegedly illegal contributions were intended to benefit Benjamin’s failed campaign for comptroller in 2021, prosecutors say.
Hochul’s office did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment. She is not accused of any knowledge or wrongdoing in connection to charges.
Though the name of the alleged co-conspirator is shielded in court papers, the New York Times identified the developer as Gerald Migdol and the charity as Friends of Public School Harlem. Migdol was arrested late last year on Nov. 19, on a similar campaign finance scheme.
Benjamin engaged “in a series of lies and deceptions to cover up his scheme, including by falsifying campaign donor forms, misleading municipal regulators, and providing false information in vetting forms” while under consideration for lieutenant governor, according to his indictment.
On March 8, 2019, Benjamin allegedly informed Migdol of his plans to run for comptroller and asked him to bundle for him. When Migdol replied that his ability to bundle donations would be limited and draw from the same pool of donors for his non-profit, Benjamin replied: “Let me see what I can do,” according to the indictment.
Before that meeting, prosecutors say, Benjamin did not include Migdol’s non-profit on a list of organizations for which he requested state funds. Benjamin had, however, requested funding for another education-focused organization in Harlem that had requested funds from his office, according to the indictment.
Prosecutors say that Benjamin’s priorities quickly shifted after the meeting on March 8, 2019.
“Instead, on or about May 31, 2019, less than three months after telling CC-1, in substance and in part, ‘Let me see what I can do,’ Brian Benjamin, the defendant, called CC-1 and told CC-1 that Benjamin intended to procure a $50,000 grant for Organization-1,” the indictment states.
The state senate approved a resolution approving a grant in that amount to Friends of Public Schools Harlem on June 19, 2019, and Benjamin allegedly informed Migdol the next day in text messages.
“Do you recognize the 3rd entity on the list?” Benjamin wrote, attaching a screenshot of the resolution, according to the indictment.
Approximately two weeks later, the campaign contributions started pouring into his office at a meeting on July 8, 2019.
“During that meeting, CC-1 gave BENJAMIN: (i) a $10,000 cashier’s check in the name of one of CC-1’s relatives who did not share CC-1’s last name (‘Relative-1’); (ii) $10,000 personal check in the name of another of CC-1’s relatives who likewise did not share CC-1’s last name (‘Relative-2’); and (iii) a $5,000 check on behalf of a limited liability company controlled by CC-1 (the ‘CC-1 LLC’),” the indictment states.
The U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York will hold a press office at noon about the case.
A Facebook photo posted on Sept. 13, 2019 shows Benjamin holding a $50,000 check for Friends of Public Schools Harlem in a smiling photo with Migdol.
Benjamin had attended the group’s annual fundraising event a day earlier, where he presented that check. The lieutenant governor is charged with bribery and honest services wire fraud conspiracy, bribery, honest services wire fraud, and two counts of falsification of records.
The U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York will hold a press office at noon about the case.
