Mayorkas’ Leaked Title 42 Plan: Ensure Migrants Get ‘Any’ Way to Stay

Border chief Alejandro Mayorkas is directing that economic migrants get every opportunity to stay once the Title 42 barrier is removed — regardless of the huge damage he inflicts on ordinary Americans.

Mayorkjas’ intentions are described in his February strategy, which was leaked to Breitbart Texas on April 4. The February strategy is titled “DHS Southwest Border Mass Irregular Migration Contingency Plan,” and it says on page 16:

A. Secretary’s Intent.

1 ) Purpose: The purpose of this plan is to describe a proactive approach that humanely prevents and responds to surges in irregular migration across the U.S. [southern border]. This will be done while ensuring that migrants can apply for any form of relief or protection [emphasis added] for which they may be eligible, including asylum, withholding of removal, and protection from removal under the regulations implementing United States obligations under the Convention Against Torture.

To maximize benefits for migrants, Mayorkas minimizes the detention and deportation of migrants — even though federal law generally denies the entry of foreign workers and economic migrants into Americans’ homeland. His plan sketches ways for border officials to squeeze many migrants through small doorways in the nation’s border:

Current pathways to removal [deportations] will be limited. Component use of broadscale release mechanisms (i.e., Own Recognizance (OR) with issuance of a Notice to Appear (NTA), or parole and Altematives to Detention (ATD) with administrative tools are necessary to ensure humane and efficient treatment of migrants.

For example, the parole side-door “is a very limited authority that Congress has given for exceptional situations,” such as a sick airline passenger, Andrew Arthur, a former immigration judge told Breitbart News in May 2021. It “is very narrowly written [for small numbers of people], but the administration has blown right past the limitations,” he said.

In February, up to 165,000 migrants arrived at the border, and Mayorkas admitted 74,000 under various legal claims. Very few of the arrivals were detained, and few prior arrivals were deported, despite the federal law.

On April 26, the Supreme Court will consider a judgment by federal judges that seeks to make Mayorkas comply with federal law.

The Cuban-born Mayorkas is a pro-migration zealot who argued in 2013 that Americans’ homeland “always has been, and forever will remain a nation of immigrants.” Only about one-third of Americans accept the “nation of immigrants” narrative, according to a survey by a pro-migration group.

So his plan ignores the reasonable and rational economic concerns of roughly at least 100 million citizens of the United States.

That is not just a personal omission. As the sworn chief of the Department of Homeland Defense, Mayorkas is professionally and legally responsible for protecting Americans’ economic opportunities from illegal migrants and unscrupulous employers who hire illegal workers.

Those concerns include their ability to earn decent wages in the labor market loosened by new migrants, and their ability to rent or buy decent housing in a housing market flooded with new migrants who are glad to pool multiple paychecks for a small room.

The shooting left six people dead and a dozen injured. The deceased ranged in age from 21 to 57.

Dandrae Martin, 26, is facing charges of assault and illegal possession of a firearm. He's not facing a homicide charge.

Investigators say they don't know if the attack was targeted or if there was an exchange of gunfire or if the attack was gang-related.

Biden Agencies to Slash Deportations by Not Prosecuting Illegal Aliens

President Joe Biden is looking to further slash deportations by having federal prosecutors drop cases against illegal aliens unless they are considered a “public safety threat,” a newly leaked internal memo reveals.

The memo, reviewed by BuzzFeed News, directs prosecutors for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency to drop deportation cases against illegal aliens who are not considered a threat to national security or public safety or who have not recently crossed the United States-Mexico border.

An ICE spokesperson said the memo “renews the commitment of all ICE attorneys, in exercising their inherent prosecutorial discretion authority, to advance the interests of justice and build public confidence in our immigration system.”

The memo, the spokesperson said, is in coordination with the agency’s so-called “sanctuary country” orders that were issued last year but have since been blocked from being implemented by an Ohio federal judge.

“Consistent with the enforcement guidance issued by Secretary Mayorkas, ICE focuses its civil immigration enforcement priorities on the apprehension and removal of non-citizens who pose a threat to our national security, public safety, and border security, consistent with all legal requirements and applicable court orders,” the spokesperson said.

Those orders helped gut interior immigration enforcement in Fiscal Year 2022, the latest ICE data reveals. Compared to 2019, arrests of illegal aliens have plummeted by nearly 50 percent, and deportations have dropped by nearly 80 percent.

Unreleased ICE data shows that the Biden administration arrested 48 percent fewer convicted criminal illegal aliens, conducted 63 percent fewer deportations for convicted criminal illegal aliens, and issued 46 percent fewer requests for ICE agents to take custody of criminal illegal aliens in the Fiscal Year 2021.

Biden’s insistence that ICE attorneys drop deportation cases against illegal aliens is almost certain to cut down on the annual number of deportations out of the nation’s interior.

Still, research has shown that deportations are extremely cost-efficient for Americans, asdeporting every illegal alien in the United States is about six times less expensive than what taxpayers are forced to subsidize for the nation’s 11 to 22 million illegal aliens.

A bill to protect West Virginia’s oil, coal, and natural gas industries has taken effect after the legislature passed the bill weeks ago and Republican Governor Jim Justice allowed it to become law. The bill gives the state treasurer the ability to stop state agencies from making contracts with banks and financial institutions that have targeted traditional energy industries through divestment.

Senate Bill 262 passed the West Virginia legislature in mid-March and headed to the desk of Justice, who just “let [the] bill become law without his signature” according to the Charleston Gazette-Mail. The bill was suggested to the legislators by state Treasury Secretary Riley Moore (R).

“We are leading the way to protect our coal, oil and natural gas workers and companies from unfair, un-American boycotts of these critical energy industries,” Moore said. “This law now puts the banking sector on notice: If you refuse to do business with our people, we won’t give you our people’s business.”

SB 262 allows the state treasurer and his office to form a “Restricted Financial Institution List,” which can be used to delineate which banks state agencies could be approved to work with. It essentially means the state treasurer can ensure that state agencies cannot work with financial institutions that divest from the oil and gas industry.

According to the Gazette-Mail, the bill also stipulates that the treasurer needs to notify a financial institution 45 days before its placement on the “Restricted Financial Institution List,” giving it time to respond and demonstrate that “it is not boycotting energy companies.”

Now, leaked documents prove that Zelensky and his inner circle have had their own network of offshore companies. Two belonging to the president’s partners were used to buy expensive property in London.

The revelations come from documents in the Pandora Papers, millions of files from 14 offshore service providers leaked to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and shared with partners around the world including OCCRP.

The documents show that Zelensky and his partners in a television production company, Kvartal 95, set up a network of offshore firms dating back to at least 2012, the year the company began making regular content for TV stations owned by Ihor Kolomoisky, an oligarch dogged by allegations of multi-billion-dollar fraud. The offshores were also used by Zelensky associates to purchase and own three prime properties in the center of London.

The documents also show that just before he was elected, he gifted his stake in a key offshore company, the British Virgin Islands-registered Maltex Multicapital Corp., to his business partner — soon to be his top presidential aide. And in spite of giving up his shares, the documents show that an arrangement was soon made that would allow the offshore to keep paying dividends to a company that now belongs to his wife

Tokyo might boost defense spending despite its pacifist constitution

Japanese Minister of Defense Nobuo Kishi declared on Monday that his ministry might request a larger budget for the next fiscal year to bolster Tokyo’s ability to stand up to a possible military threat coming from any regional power.

The Asian nation’s new desire to level up its military might comes despite Japan’s allegiance to an exclusively defense-oriented policy under the country’s constitution.

“The defense budget is a major indicator that shows the nation’s will. We want to ensure a budget that is enough to strengthen our defense capabilities drastically,” said Kishi in an interview with the Kyodo news outlet.

The defense minister has argued that Japan needs to prop up its army due to an increasingly severe regional security environment. In particular, he has cautioned against China's intensifying military assertiveness and North Korea's nuclear threat.

Japan’s fears over North Korea are growing as Pyongyang is testing new intercontinental ballistic missiles. Tokyo is also increasingly concerned with Beijing’s claims of sovereignty over the Senkaku Islands, an uninhabited Japanese archipelago in the East China Sea.

Meanwhile, Kishi has not mentioned Tokyo’s territorial dispute with Moscow over the Kuril Islands, a Russian archipelago that Japanese authorities deem “illegally occupied.”

Earlier, the Kremlin scrapped peace talks with the land of the rising sun and tightened visa restrictions for Japanese citizens in response to Tokyo imposing anti-Russian sanctions over the conflict in Ukraine. Formally,Russia and Japan never signed a peace treaty after the end of the Second World War.

The Japanese war-renouncing constitution was adopted under the American occupation in 1947. It has significantly limited the war capabilities of the previously militaristic nation. However, in the last decade, Japan’s defense budget has been growing annually. For the current fiscal year, it has exceeded a record-high $44 billion, which amounts to nearly 1 percent of the country’s GDP.

Josep Borrell acknowledged the resistance the Russian ruble has shown in the face of international sanctions

The EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, has commended the Russian ruble on its resilience in the face of international sanctions, imposed in light of the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine.

“The ruble has shown a strong resistance capacity. Putin now insists that they pay him for gas in rubles to maintain the currency. We’ll see what happens,“ Borrell told Spanish COPE outlet on Tuesday.

The statement comes as the ruble has recently made a recovery and bounced back almost to its value in February, despite tsweeping sanctions imposed by the West over Moscow's military offensive in Ukraine.

Previously, the Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki used the currency's position as evidence of Western sanctions having no effect on Russia. “I must say this very clearly: The sanctions we have imposed so far don’t workKekkity. The best evidence is the ruble exchange rate,” said Morawiecki on Saturday.

The strengthening of the ruble comes after Russia decided to switch to its national currency for gas payments when dealing with “unfriendly” countries, in an effort to secure Russia’s ability to trade and receive payments despite the economic sanctions imposed by the West against its foreign assets.

“Amid this growing distrust toward reserve currencies [US dollar and euro], the president put forward the idea of the necessity of hedging risks so that [Western states] would not try to rob us again. And therefore we introduced this [mechanism] of payments in rubles … for the most important commodities. In this case, we are talking about natural gas,” Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov explained, adding that the move did not aim to “punch anyone in the nose.”

Russia’s proposal to have gas paid for in rubles did not sit well with the EU and many of its members have publicly declined to comply. EU unveils new sanctions on Moscow

Restrictions do not target Russian oil and natural gas imports

The European Commission has proposed a broad new package of sanctions against Moscow over the conflict in Ukraine. They include restrictions on Russian coal imports, bans on more banks and ships entering European ports. However, Brussels has avoided targeting imports of oil and natural gas from Russia.

According to RIA Novosti news agency, the new set of restrictions announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen includes a €4 billion ($4.4 billion) ban on coal imports from Russia; a complete ban on any transactions with four Russian banks, including VTB; a ban on Russian ships entering European ports, except for food and energy deliveries; a €5.5 billion ($6 billion) ban on imports of goods from Russia, including timber, cement, seafood and spirits.

Bans on some exports to Russia in the amount of €10 billion ($11 billion), including semiconductor products, machinery and transport equipment, will also be introduced.

The latest EU sanctions appear to have avoided oil and gas imports from Russia. The issue has split member countries, which are heavily dependent on Russian energy.

Russia covers roughly 40% of the EU’s natural gas needs, along with some 30% of its crude oil demand, and about half of its thermal coal, which is used to fuel power stations and generate electricity.

Thermal coal is the only fossil fuel targeted by the new restrictions, although they fall short of a complete ban. To put the €4 billion ($4.4 billion) ban on coal imports in perspective, the EU imported roughly €2 trillion ($2.2 trillion) worth of Russian coal in 2021, according to Statista’s figures. The amount of Russian coal imports targeted by the new measure would represent about 0.2%.

Since the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, the EU has imposed several rounds of sanctions on Moscow, and has pledged to reduce its dependency on energy imports from Russia.

The measures still have to be approved by the bloc’s 27 member states.

In 2014, a Disney Cruise Line steward, 36-year-old Ahmed Sofyan, was charged with two counts of molestation and one count of false imprisonment after holding a 13-year-old girl in an unoccupied cabin and molesting her. When this story was released, an ex-Disney Cruise officer spoke out, reporting a similar instance of child molestation that Disney authorities ordered her not to report just two years prior.

Dawn Taplin, the first female security officer at Disney and second in the entire cruise line industry, was on the cruise ship where this occurred. In 2014, she revealed Disney’s previous molestation cover-up.

In 2012, a Disney cruise ship employee was caught on camera molesting an 11-year-old girl in an elevator. Disney authorities allegedly did not allow security to report the incident.

Taplin interviewed the young victim after she and her grandmother reported the crime to Guest Services. The security officer, who had 17-years of experience as a police officer, found the surveillance footage extremely troubling.

The molestation occurred while the cruise ship was still docked at Port Canaveral in Florida while passengers were still boarding. Taplin recalls that they “weren’t going anywhere for another two hours or so.” Since they were still on U.S. land, Taplin notified the ship’s second-in-command and offered to call her FBI contact. However, she did not get the response she anticipated.

“I was ordered not to make any phone calls, do anything at all. Nothing. Period” recalled Taplin. She said that she was told, “Just keep your mouth shut.”

“If a crime is committed while you’re hooked up anywhere here, it is an American, it is a United States, it is a Florida crime,” said Taplin.

Soviet-era’s last US envoy to Moscow comments on war atrocities accusations against Russia

Ambassador Jack Matlock has saidit is not wise to make a nuclear-armed equivalent of the US into a pariah state

Moral outrage over images of apparent war atrocities in Bucha, Ukraine is understandable, but the calls to turn Russia into a pariah state are ill-advised, a former US ambassador to the Soviet Union warned on Monday, during an appearance on CNN.

Jack Matlock held various positions during the height of the Cold War and was Washington’s representative to the USSR in the final years of the communist powerhouse. The veteran diplomat warned CNN audiences that the drive to further antagonize Russia, which prevails in the West, is ill-advised, especially since it’s driven by emotions rather than reason.

“I share many of these emotions, but to the idea that we can make a major nuclear weapon state a pariah, that by our actions we actually are destroying those elements in that society that could bring a positive change in the future. I think that is not wise,” he said.

Matlock was referring to the moral outrage that has been dominating the West’s coverage of the Ukrainian crisis since Kiev accused Russian troops of war crimes. The allegations focus on Bucha, a small town northwest of Kiev from which Russian troops withdrew last week. Days after the withdrawal, images of apparent atrocities targeting its civilian population started pouring in from Bucha.

Ukrainian officials claimed these were evidence that Moscow was pursuing genocide of the Ukrainian people. Russia has denied any responsibility for what appeared in the images and said that Kiev was manipulating public opinion with staged scenes of brutality.

The CNN segment, in which Matlock was one of the experts providing their opinion, put the blame for the civilian deaths squarely on Russia. “Of course, there is no one else who could have committed these atrocities,” an EU spokesperson quoted by the news network said. Host Ana Cabrera said images from Bucha were particularly horrific because the alleged crimes were committed not by “some rogue actor like the Taliban or a terror group like ISIS or al Qaeda,” but by a UN nation.

Matlock said that feeling outrage over what he called “horrors of war” was a normal human reaction, but suggested that the only way to end them was to negotiate a path towards deescalation.

“To think that the world would benefit from making Russia, a nuclear power equivalent to the United States, a pariah, I think, does not really represent our interests in the future. I fear a world of that sort,” he said.

Opposing his view was Brian Klaas, associate professor of global politics at University College of London, who argued that Russia has made a pariah of itself by committing war crimes in Ukraine. He believes that the killings of civilians in Bucha were “orchestrated” by senior Russian leadership.

“There’s no way that you could have such atrocities without at least the knowledge of senior officials in the Russian military,” he said, “There’s no way that you could have such atrocities without at least the knowledge of senior officials in the Russian military,” he said. He offered no explanation for why Russian officers would make a display of brutality, an action that would not appear to benefit Russia’s objectives.

Matlock said he was skeptical of the idea. “We do not know for sure exactly what happened with these apparent atrocities. And, certainly, we don’t know that they were ordered from Moscow,” he also pointed out.

The veteran diplomat reiterated his long-held position, that NATO’s expansion in Europe and the gradual rising oftensions between Western powers and Moscow, which escalated into a shooting war in Ukraine this year, were an avoidable mistake of US foreign policy.

Klaas dismissed the notion, stating that “the characterization that this is somehow our fault [was] wildly wrong.”

Pope Francis didn’t want to upset illegal Muslim migrants in Malta so he removed the cross from his venue on the island. Instead, the Pope sat in front of thousands of empty plastic bottles to discuss protecting the ecology and migrants.

The Free Republic reported on Monday on the Pope’s recent visit to Malta.

Organizers canceled the crucifix from the papal podium because Pope Francis did not want to offend illegal Muslim migrants during the climax of his Malta trip.

Instead, recycled plastic bottles with red blobs were used to design the backdrop for the pope’s address to migrants at the John XXIII Peace Lab in Ħal-Far on Saturday, a voluntary organization run by leftist Franciscan friar Fr. Dionysius Mintoff.

“When you look deeper, you will see that the sea is made of recycled plastic bottles, because there is more plastic than fish in our sea. And the red blobs are life jackets — the lives of people lost at sea,” artistic director Carlo Schembri explained.

Schembri, who was commissioned to design the key backdrops for the papal visit to Malta, insisted he was being faithful to Francis’ primary reason for visiting the island — to defend migrants and the ecology.

“The podium will not be adorned with a crucifix, given that the majority of migrants are Muslim,” the Malta archdiocese noted, in an article published on its website, adding that “the pontiff’s visit is expected to draw attention to the brutal situation of Malta’s migrant community.”

Removing the crucifix from his presentation in Malta isn’t the first action where the current Pope was criticized for his actions. The Pope called Joe Biden a good Catholic after years of Biden pushing for abortion. Biden also is involved in the stolen 2020 Election and the destruction of the freest country in the world. These moves don’t appear to be good at all.

“I’ve signed over a million letters, cast more votes while in the chamber here and accomplished what I set out to do with more unfinished work still yet to come,” added Upton, whose current term ends this year.

Upton was one of 10 Republican House members who voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump after the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the Capitol.

He was an early critic of Trump’s false claims that he lost the November presidential election due to widespread fraud and has said his vote for impeachment was to “send a clear message” that the United States will not tolerate a president impeding the peaceful transfer of power.

Trump has endorsed Michigan state lawmaker Steve Carra’s bid to challenge Upton.

Steve Carra dropped out on March 15, which improved the standing of Upton’s challenger, Trump-backed Huizenga.

Upton stood to potentially gain from a third contender in the GOP primary, state Rep. Steve Carra of Three Rivers, because it was thought Carra would split the pro-Trump vote with Huizenga. But Carra dropped out March 15 and endorsed Huizenga after the Trump endorsement.

On October 28, 2021, at around 7:45 PM ET two LCGC cameras captured a person of interest (POI) who was caught on video inserting several ballots into a ballot drop box in Lehigh County Pennsylvania.

The balding man is seen wearing a long sleeve V-neck red shirt, grey jeans, black shoes and a watch on his left wrist. He was carrying several ballots and was filmed stuffing them in the ballot box.

The Pennsylvania Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee held a hearing on March 30, 2022, on drop boxes and the alleged ballot trafficking in Lehigh County in the November 2021 election. This video of ballot trafficking was shared as evidence with the committee members.

There were hundreds of instances of similar instances of ballot trafficking that took place at the drop boxes during the 2021 election.

On Monday Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin, a Republican, admitted that there were likely hundreds of instances where people deposited numerous ballots into the ballot drop boxes in the last election.

At least 288 people deposited more than one ballot in the various drop boxes, all of which were under video surveillance.

District Attorney Jim Martin, a Republican, then announced he will not prosecute the suspects “because to prosecute those few whose identity can be proven would be unfair and unjust given the much larger numbers who cannot be identified and who also deposited multiple ballots.”

You can’t identify all of the suspects so he will not file charges against ANY of the suspects.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin said Monday there were likely hundreds of instances where people deposited more than one ballot into drop boxes between Oct. 18 and election day, Nov. 2, 2021.

Joe Vichot, Chairman of the Lehigh County Republican Committee, submitted correspondence on Jan. 20., 2022 to Deputy County Solicitor, Sarah Murray, regarding alleged multiple ballots deposited at drop boxes during the 2021 November election, according to a news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

On Feb. 1, 2022, the Election Board of Lehigh County through Deputy Solicitor Murray referred the matter to the District Attorney for investigation. Martin said he referred the matter to Chief County Detective Michael J. Millan, who assigned County Detectives Richard G. Heffelfinger, Steven C. Furlong and Robert V. Egan to the investigation.

Following months of badgering by the Europeans to take a more active role in stopping the conflict in Ukraine, President Xi is reportedly considering one-on-one talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (what would be the first round of direct talks between the two since the invasion began) following a round of lower-level talks.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin telegraphed on Tuesday that it would also be open to direct talks between Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, but only if the two sides could first agree on a formal document outlining terms.

According to Bloomberg, Foreign Minster Wang Yi expressed a desire for China to take a more active role in cease-fire talks (as the Europeans have been begging Beijing to do) during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba (the meeting marked their first exchange since March 1).

However, Wang made no new commitments about mediating the conflict.

Wang noted that Xi had "comprehensively expounded" on the need for dialogue and peace talks, but the Chinese diplomat made no new commitments toward mediating the conflict. "China does not seek geopolitical interests, nor will it watch the event from a safe distance while sitting idle, or add fuel to the fire," Wang said.

In a tweet about the meeting, Kuleba said he was "grateful" for his Chinese counterpart, and insisted that they both "share the conviction that ending the war against Ukraine serves common interests of peace."

Though he now claims to support constructing a wall to defend America and Arizona’s southern border from illegal immigration and narco invasion, Salmon echoed Democrats and “Never Trump” Republicans at the end of his second stint in Congress, arguing that the wall would be “incredibly expensive” to construct, apparently disregarding just how costly illegal immigration has been to Americans. There are “readily available solutions without having to build a massive wall,” Salmon said of solving America’s border crisis at the time.

Now, Salmon is singing a much different tune on President Trump’s border wall, claiming to be an ardent supporter of it and even including a picture of himself standing alongside a section of the wall in the “Law and Order” portion of his campaign website. Despite his early dismissal of the “massive wall,” Salmon now lists finishing it among his top solutions to solving the border crisis that has so heavily impacted Arizona.

Shortly after opposing the border wall on his way out of Congress, Salmon served as Vice President for Government Affairs at Arizona State University. It was during that time that the Trump Administration moved to end the Obama-era DACA amnesty program for illegal aliens, which affected some Arizona State students. Though he said he opposed the program while in Congress, Salmon admitted in 2017 that he is actually in favor of amnesty and lobbied for Congress to subvert the Trump Administration. Matt Salmon ultimately argued to make Obama’s DACA program the law of the land.

Current White House chief of staff Ron Klain approached Hunter Biden in September 2012 for help raising $20,000 for a foundation that looks after the vice president’s residence, but told the now-first son to “keep it low key” to prevent “bad PR,” according to emails obtained by The Post

In a Sept. 21, 2012 message to Hunter Biden, first reported by Fox News, Klain said he needed to “tackle a piece of unpleasant business.”

“The tax lawyers for the VP Residence Foundation have concluded that since the Cheney folks last raised money in 2007 and not 2008, we actually have to have some incoming funds before the end of this fiscal year (i.e., before 9/30/12 – next week) to remain eligible to be a ‘public charity,’” wrote Klain, referring to former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Klain at the time was chairman of the nonprofit Vice President’s Residence Foundation after leaving then-Vice President Joe Biden’s office the year before.

“It’s not much — we need to raise a total of $20,000 — so I’m hitting up a few very close friends on a very confidential basis to write checks of $2,000 each,” Klain added.

“We need to keep this low low key, because raising money for the Residence now is bad PR — but it has to be done, so I’m trying to just collect the 10 checks of $2,000, get it done in a week, and then, we can do an event for the Residence Foundation after the [presidential] election,” he concluded.

Hunter Biden, according to Fox News, forwarded Klain’s email to Eric Schwerin, a longtime business partner who was managing his finances.

Schwerin responded by saying they could “discuss this and some other bills on Monday,” and asked Hunter whether he thought “they would take a corporate check from Owasco,” an apparent reference to Hunter Biden’s law firm, Owasco PC.

Three days later, on Monday, Sept. 24, Hunter Biden emailed Klain: “Working on it- my partner Eric will be in touch.”

“Thanks!” Klain answered.

On the same day, according to Fox, Schwerin emailed the younger Biden to say he had talked to Klain, who was checking to see if the foundation would take a check from Owasco.

It remains unclear whether Owasco contributed to the foundation, but a 990 tax form from fiscal year 2012 shows that it received $20,500 in contributions, just over Klain’s ask.

John Durham: Ex-Clinton Lawyer Allegedly Lied to FBI in Writing

Special counsel John Durham published potentially conclusive evidence in the case against former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann on Monday night, showing alleged text messages the cybersecurity lawyer sent to the FBI general counsel that he wasn’t working for any client when he provided information to the bureau.

Durham’s team charged Sussmann last year with lying to the FBI when he presented information about former President Donald Trump to former FBI General Counsel James “Jim” Baker in late 2016. Sussmann allegedly concealed that he was working for the Democratic National Committee, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, and tech executive Rodney Joffe when he provided claims that the Trump Organization had a secret link with a Russian bank, which the FBI later said was not credible.

“Jim – it’s Michael Sussmann. I have something time-sensitive (and sensitive) I need to discuss,” Sussmann allegedly wrote to Baker, according to the late-night court filing (pdf). “Do you have availibilty [sic] for a short meeting tomorrow? I’m coming on my own – not on behalf of a client or company – want to help the Bureau. Thanks.”

And Baker responded: “Ok. I will find a time. What might work for you?” Sussmann then replied, “Any time but lunchtime – you name it.”

Sussmann’s lawyers previously denied that their client made such claims to Baker, saying it was made orally. However, Durham’s latest filing suggests that Sussmann may have put it in writing.

“The Special Counsel has brought a false statement charge on the basis of a purported oral statement made over five years ago for which there is only a single witness, Mr. Baker; for which there is no recording; and for which there are no contemporaneous notes by anyone who was actually in the meeting,” Sussmann’s lawyers said last year.

In October, meanwhile, Durham’s team wrote that prosecutors will call Baker—who now works for Twitter—to testify in the upcoming trial.

Sussmann has pleaded not guilty and said he committed no wrongdoing. His lawyers recently called on a federal judge to dismiss the case, arguing that Durham’s probe is politically motivated.

But Durham said that Sussmann’s allegedly false statement to Baker was, in fact, “plainly material because it misled the General Counsel about, among other things, the critical fact that the defendant was disseminating highly explosive allegations about a then-Presidential candidate on behalf of two specific clients, one of which was the opposing Presidential campaign,” according to court documents.

Further, Durham asserted that Sussmann “repeatedly billed the Clinton campaign” for his work on their behalf.

Also on Monday, Sussmann’s lawyers wrote (pdf) that the discredited and controversial “Steele dossier” should not be included in the case as former UK spy Christopher Steele’s “conduct is wholly irrelevant to the charge against Mr. Sussmann,” adding that to allow “evidence regarding Mr. Steele would invite a distracting and highly prejudicial mini-trial on a fraught topic with no connection to the charge in this matter.”

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi enthusiastically celebrated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s landslide victory this weekend in a call to his counterpart in the country, Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto, and vowed China would “staunchly support” Orbán in Hungary’s “development path.”

Orbán’s Fidesz Party, which identifies as nationalist and conservative, won a decisive victory on Sunday, securing about 53 percent of the vote agianst the opposition United for Hungary Party. Orbán celebrated the win as “so big that you can see it from the moon” and claimed it as a defeat for the “international left” shortly before the world’s largest Communist Party extended its praise and support to Fidesz. The win will grant Orbán a fifth term, four of them consecutive, as prime minister.

Chinese officials typically reach out to congratulate leaders of friendly nations following a significant electoral win despite the absence of any popular participation in governance in China. China and Hungary have greatly expanded ties under Orbán, the first European leader to join China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), a global infrastructure program whose core service is offering predatory loans to developing nations.

Wang reportedly told Orbán’s top diplomat in a phone call on Tuesday that China would seek to “continue to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields to build a stronger comprehensive strategic partnership,” according to the Chinese regime news outlet Xinhua.

“Wang conveyed congratulations of the Chinese leaders over the Fidesz party’s re-winning parliamentary elections under the leadership of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban,” Xinhua relayed. “The election result shows that the independent policy pursued by the Hungarian side is in line with the country’s national conditions and the common interests of its people, and is firmly and broadly supported by the people, Wang said.”

Wang reportedly “wished that the Hungarian side will achieve greater progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Orban” and “said China will continue to staunchly support Hungary in preserving its independent choice of development path.”

Xinhua described the conversation as warm, noting that Szijjarto expressed appreciation for “the mutual trust and friendship between Hungary and China and the high level of their ties.”

“Hungary will continue to firmly safeguard its legitimate interests, and is ready to deepen cooperation with China in various fields and promote their comprehensive strategic partnership to higher levels, Szijjarto said,” the state outlet claimed.

The Chinese Communist Party’s embrace of the victory follows Orbán himself declaring in his victory speech on Sunday that he had defeated “the left at home [and] the international left all around” to stay in power. Orbán has previously declared it a “calling” of former communist states in Europe to ensure that Western values prevail over authoritarianism.

“In this situation in Europe, we Hungarians can clearly see the essence of our European calling,” Orbán said in remarks last year. “It is to bring the uncompromising anti-communist tradition into the common store of European values. It is to place the crimes and lessons of international socialism alongside the crimes and lessons of national socialism.”

Orbán’s government has also prioritized opposition to Christian persecution and the embrace of Christian values around the world.

Questions Abound About Bucha Massacre

The West has made a snap judgment about who is responsible for the massacre at the Ukrainian town of Bucha with calls for more stringent sanctions on Russia, but the question of guilt is far from decided, writes Joe Lauria.

Within hours of news Sunday that there had been a massacre at Bucha, a town 63 kms north of the Ukrainian capital, the verdict was in: Russian troops had senselessly slaughtered hundreds of innocent civilians as they withdrew from the town, leaving their bodies littering the streets.

Unlike their judicial systems, when it comes to war, Western nations dispense with the need for investigations and evidence and pronounce guilt based on political motives: Russia is guilty. Case closed.

Except the case hasn’t even been opened yet and the sentence is already being proposed. French President Emmanuel Macron, for instance, has called for Russian coal and oil to be banned from Europe. “There are very clear indications of war crimes,” he said on France Inter radio Monday. “What happened in Bucha demands a new round of sanctions and very clear measures, so we will co-ordinate with our European partners, especially with Germany.”

Other voices are now perilously calling for the U.S. to go to war with Russia over the incident.

“This is genocide,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Face the Nation on CBS. “Mothers of Russians should see this. See what bastards you’ve raised. Murderers, looters, butchers,” he added on Telegram.

Russia has categorically denied it had anything to do with the massacre.

Where to Start

If there were to be a serious probe, one of the first places an investigator would begin is to map out a timeline of events.

Last Wednesday, all Russian forces left Bucha, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

This was confirmed on Thursday by a smiling Anatolii Fedoruk, the mayor of Bucha, in a video on the Bucha City Council official Facebook page. The translated post accompanying the video says:

“March 31 – the day of the liberation of Bucha. This was announced by Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk. This day will go down in the glorious history of Bucha and the entire Bucha community as a day of liberation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Russian occupiers.”

Israel’s Foreign Minister Yair Lapid explicitly accused Russia of war crimes on Tuesday, in the strongest comments against Moscow yet by a top Israeli official.

“A large and powerful country has invaded a smaller neighbor without any justification. Once again, the ground is soaked with the blood of innocent civilians,” Lapid charged while in Cyprus, speaking alongside his Cypriot and Greek counterparts, according to a statement from his spokesman.

“The images and testimony from Ukraine are horrific. Russian forces committed war crimes against a defenseless civilian population. I strongly condemn these war crimes,” Lapid said in reference to the alleged atrocities committed in the Kyiv suburb Bucha.

Lapid noted that the war in Ukraine offered opportunities for new energy partnerships, saying that it will “change the structure of the European and Middle Eastern energy market.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett condemned the killing of civilians in Bucha, but did not blame Russia or anyone else for the atrocities.

“We are shocked by the difficult pictures coming from Bucha, terrible scenes,” he said while visiting an army post in the West Bank.

Asked about the alleged mass killings of civilians by Russian forces, Bennett said, “We condemn them with all force.”

He noted that “the suffering of Ukrainian citizens is huge” and noted that Israel has set up a field hospital in western Ukraine, which “all Israelis should be proud of.”

Israel has avoided aligning too closely with either side since Russian troops invaded Ukraine on February 24. It is one of the few countries that maintains relatively warm relations with both Ukraine, a fellow Western democracy, as well as Russia.

Moscow controls the airspace over Syria, in which Israel operates to target Iranian proxies, and this is seen as a key reason for Israel’s careful comments on the war.

While Lapid has taken a clearer stance against Russia, condemning its actions in Ukraine on several occasions and vowing that Israel will not be used as a “route to bypass” sanctions on Russian oligarchs, Bennett has avoided blaming Russia, instead attempting to position himself as a mediator in the conflict.

Russia systematically explains its position on the situation in Bucha, but the collective West "shut its eyes and ears with blinds" and is not willing to listen, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Tuesday.

He noted that, previously, the Russian position was "rather systematically explained" by Permanent Representative to the UN Vasiliy Nebenzya and by the Ministry of Defense.

"The information was delivered. But, on the other hand, there is an impression that the collective West simply shut its eyes and ears with blinds and does not want to listen about anything. This is regrettably a reality, [but], despite all that, we still intend to actively promote our arguments," the spokesman said.

Commenting on the possibility of an investigation of the Bucha situation, the spokesman noted hat "it is necessary to consider, how possible a truly impartial, unbiased, and neutral investigation is at this moment."

"We continue to insist that all accusations against Russia, against Russian military are not merely groundless, but a well-directed show, nothing else but a tragic show," Peskov said.

According to the spokesman, the entire progress of events, a huge amount of information, facts and other parameters clearly prove that the situation in Bucha is a forgery, designed to smear the Russian army.

"They will not succeed; we once again call on, first and foremost, UN Security Council members, Western leaders to refrain from an emotional perception, based on nothing, and just to think rationally and to attempt to juxtapose the facts, in order to understand what kind of horrific forgery we are talking about," the spokesman said.

He also noted that Russian diplomats continue their attempts to deliver information to the United Nations.

"Our diplomats are working in the UN, the work continues. You know that our work is being undermined in rather unprecedented ways, our initiatives are being blocked, but, despite that, we will not stand idly by," Peskov concluded.

Denmark expels 15 Russian diplomats, foreign minister says

The diplomats must leave the country within the next 14 days

Denmark’s government has made a decision on expelling 15 Russian diplomats, Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod announced on Tuesday.

"The government is expelling from Denmark 15 Russian intelligence agents, they must leave the country within the next 14 days," he said. "This is a historic step, which we are taking here from the Danish side. But we are also doing this jointly with a large number of European countries because we want to ensure our security."

Denmark’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Russian ambassador has been informed about this decision.

According to the statement, Denmark is not seeking to sever diplomatic relations with Moscow, hence the ambassador and some other staff won’t be expelled.

UAE sentences Israeli woman to death over half-kilo of cocaine

Fidaa Kiwan, arrested in March 2021, claims drugs did not belong to her; officials anticipate reduction in punishment after appeal

An Israeli woman, Fidaa Kiwan, was sentenced to death Tuesday in Dubai after she was convicted of possessing half a kilogram of cocaine.

The Foreign Ministry said that “the case is known and we are handling it through the consular service and our representatives in the Emirates.”

Kiwan, a 43-year-old Haifa resident who owns a photography studio, reportedly came to Dubai for work at the invitation of a Palestinian acquaintance a year ago. She was arrested a short while later, on March 17, 2021, after a search of her apartment turned up the drugs, the Ynet news site reported. She has claimed that the drugs were not hers, and her local lawyer is expected to appeal the decision.

Officials with knowledge of the case told The Times of Israel that they expect the sentence to be reduced to a long prison term upon appeal.

The United Arab Emirates is known for its strict anti-drug laws, with those convicted of drug trafficking facing a possible death sentence. However, the death sentences are not rigorously enforced in many cases and tend to be converted into heavy prison sentences.

This was not the first time that the UAE has made a notable drug bust of an Israeli. In October 2021, it was reported that an Israeli man — Halil Dasuki, 31, from Lod — was arrested in Dubai on suspicion of involvement in a scheme to smuggle half a ton of cocaine into the UAE and from there to Israel.

At the time, Emirati police said they foiled the smuggling attempt after receiving a tip about a cargo container carrying the contraband through a seaport. They noted that a suspect of “Middle Eastern origin” was arrested in the operation, and he was described as an intermediary for an international drug syndicate.

Special Counsel John Durham is revealing new smoking gun evidence, a text message that shows a Clinton campaign lawyer lied to the FBI, while putting the courts on notice he is prepared to show the effort to smear Donald Trump with now-disproven Russia collusion allegations was a "conspiracy."

In a bombshell court filing late Monday night, Durham for the first time suggested Hillary Clinton's campaign, her researchers and others formed a "joint venture or conspiracy" for the purpose of weaving the collusion story to harm Trump's election chances and then the start of his presidency.

"These parties acted as 'joint venturer[s]' and therefore should be 'considered as co-conspirator[s],'" he wrote.

Durham also revealed he has unearthed a text message showing Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann falsely told the FBI he was not working on behalf of any client when he delivered now-discredited anti-Trump research in the lead-up to the 2016 election. In fact, he was working for the Clinton campaign and another client, prosecutors say.

The existence of the text message between Sussmann and then-FBI General Counsel James Baker was revealed in a court filing late Monday night by Durham's team. Prosecutors said they intend to show Sussmann gave a false story to the FBI but then told the truth about working on behalf of the Clinton campaign when he later testified to Congress.

"Jim – it's Michael Sussmann. I have something time-sensitive (and sensitive) I need to discuss," Sussmann texted Baker on Sept. 18, 2016, according to the new court filing. "Do you have availability for a short meeting tomorrow? I'm coming on my own – not on behalf of a client or company – want to help the Bureau. Thanks."

Prosecutors said the text message will become essential evidence at trial to show Sussmann lied to the FBI.

U.S. federal law prohibits the use of “official resources,” such as federal funds or one’s job title, for private gain. But while Dennis Carroll oversaw the USAID PREDICT program; which funded laboratory equipment for the Wuhan Institute of Virology, PREDICT funds were used to promote and further the Global Virome Project that Carroll cofounded.

U.S. federal law prohibits the use of “official resources,” such as federal funds or one’s job title, for private gain, be it your own gain or someone you know. A recent investigation has unveiled evidence showing Dennis Carroll, former director of the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Pandemic Threat Program, may have done just that. As reported by investigative journalist Paul Thacker:1

“While at USAID, Dennis Carroll oversaw a federal program called PREDICT, from which funds were used to launch another organization called the Global Virome Project. After leaving USAID, Carroll then became chair of the Global Virome Project’s board.

‘It would appear that Dennis Carroll violated federal law that prohibits the use of official resources for private gain or for that of persons or organizations with which he is associated personally,’ Craig Holman of Public Citizen said when shown emails2 made public by the nonprofit US Right to Know.

‘Official resources — including government means of communications, government-funded travel or even the use of one’s official title — may not be used to promote private interests, such as the Global Virome Project.’”

U.S. Right to Know (USRTK) obtained the incriminating documents3 through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. According to USRTK,4 it appears Carroll first designed the PREDICT program as a proof of concept for the Global Virome Project, and while he was receiving six-figure paychecks ($166,500 in 2019) from the USAID, he then founded, promoted and raised funds for the Global Virome Project, in some instances using USAID funding to do so.

Goals of the PREDICT Program and Global Virus Project

The USAID PREDICT program involved identifying viruses with pandemic potential. Contractors funded through this program have included the EcoHealth Alliance, headed by Peter Daszak who, incidentally, in the last year has also gotten into hot water over potential violations of law.

According to Thacker, in early March 2022, Congressional members sent a letter to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), asking the agency to investigate EcoHealth for potential “contract irregularities and anonymous private donations, in violation of federal statute.”

The Global Virome Project was launched to hunt down and catalogue previously unknown viruses around the globe. According to USRTK, the Global Virome Project is currently trying to obtain $1.2 billion to fund the collection and identification of more than 1 million viruses from wildlife, with the goal of predicting which ones might evolve to infect humans.

DARPA and its U.S. Air Force partner recently completed a free flight test of the Lockheed Martin version of the Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC). The vehicle, after release from a carrier aircraft, was boosted to its Aerojet Rocketdyne scramjet engine ignition envelope. From there, it quickly accelerated to and maintained cruise faster than Mach 5 (five times the speed of sound) for an extended period of time. The vehicle reached altitudes greater than 65,000 feet and flew for more than 300 nautical miles.

This is the second successful flight in DARPA’s HAWC program. Last September, a different vehicle configuration from another contractor team also reached hypersonic flight.

"This Lockheed Martin HAWC flight test successfully demonstrated a second design that will allow our warfighters to competitively select the right capabilities to dominate the battlefield,” said Andrew "Tippy" Knoedler, HAWC program manager in DARPA's Tactical Technology Office. “These achievements increase the level of technical maturity for transitioning HAWC to a service program of record.”

Air-breathing vehicles utilize air captured from the atmosphere to achieve sustained propulsion. The speed and maneuverability of such hypersonic cruise missiles allow both evasion of defenses and quick strikes. Their kinetic energy can effectively destroy targets even without high explosives.

“We are still analyzing flight test data, but are confident that we will provide the U.S. Air Force and Navy with excellent options to diversify the technology available for their future missions,” said Knoedler.

Court Reinstates Louisiana AG’s Lawsuit Against Zuckerberg’s Election-Meddling Group

Last week, a Louisiana appellate court reinstated Attorney General Jeff Landry’s lawsuit challenging Mark Zuckerberg’s infiltration of the state election system with private “Zuck Bucks” that flooded the country during the 2020 election.

The lawsuit, State of Louisiana v. Center for Tech and Civic Life, originated in October 2020. That’s when Louisiana, through Landry, sought a court order declaring that “private contributions to local election officials and the election system in general are unlawful and contrary to Louisiana law.” Landry’s lawsuit followed attempts by the Zuckerberg-funded Center for Tech and Civic Life to dole out millions in targeted grants to election officials throughout the state.

By the time Landry sued, more than 20 officials throughout the state had applied for grants of nearly $8 million, but after the attorney general warned them the funds were illegal, most abandoned their efforts. Orleans and Calcasieu parishes, however, went on to accept more than $810,000 in funds for the 2020 election.

While Landry succeeded in limiting the impact of the Zuckbucks in Louisiana to two parishes, his efforts to prevent what he called “the corrosive influence of outside money on Louisiana election officials” initially failed when a state trial court dismissed his lawsuit against the Center for Tech and Civic Life and its partner organizations.

In tossing the case, the trial judge held there was no legal basis to prevent “registrars of voters, clerks of court, or other local election officials from seeking and obtaining grant dollars to assist with the funding the necessary staff and equipment for the upcoming November 3, 2020 election.” In reaching this conclusion, the trial court relied on Louisiana’s constitution, specifically article 6, § 23.

That provision authorizes “political subdivisions” to “acquire property for any public purpose,” by among other things, “donation.” The trial court then reasoned that because “registrar of voters and clerks of court are ‘political subdivisions,’” “they are allowed to accept private donations,” including to run elections. Accordingly, the trial court tossed the state’s lawsuit and allowed the private funds to flow into the parish coffers.

Russian leader responds to seizure of his country's assets abroad

The nationalization of assets is a double-edged weapon, Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed during a government meeting in response to some Western countries proposing to seize his country's property abroad.

“We’re already hearing announcements coming from some officials about the possible nationalization of some of our assets.Well, this can be taken very far. Let no one forget that this is a double-edged weapon,” he cautioned on Tuesday.

Putin noted that the situation in the global energy sphere has significantly worsened as a result of “crude and non-market measures” introduced by foreign partners, including the mounting of pressure on Russia’s gas giant Gazprom. Putin accused European nations of trying to “shift the blame for their own mistakes in economy and energy onto Russia.”

Last Thursday, the president signed a decree that required countries that have slapped Moscow with sanctions to pay for gas with rubles, in future. The Kremlin has warned that refusing to adapt to this would mean the end of the energy, which, it remarked at the time, it wouldn’t be giving away “free of charge.” Moscow insists that it was left with no choice but to switch to its national currency, as dollars and euros could be “taken away.”

Earlier, on Tuesday, Germany announced that it had taken ownership of a local branch of Russia’s Gazprom, saying that it was ‘urgently necessary,’ while Bloomberg revealed, last week, that the UK government was planning to nationalize the company's local retail arm.

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods discussed a six-day undercover child sex sting Tuesday that resulted in the arrest of 27.

At a news conference, Woods said 22 of the arrests were local, including someone who works in a school system, a Florida Department of Corrections officer and the son of Ocala City Council member Ire Bethea Sr.

Woods said the culprits traveled to meet who they thought were young children for sex. Another three stand accused of sending sexually explicit images but did not travel to meet who they believed were minors, officials said.

“These are the press conferences that you don’t really like doing. It brings light to the true evil and ugliness of our world of today,” Woods said. “My notes have down here to call these individuals pieces of scum. Well, most of y’all know me. I think they’re pieces of (expletive).”

Woods said the details are disturbing.

“You got one individual who thought he was meeting a 12-year-old paraplegic individual to have sex,” Woods said. “It infuriates me. As a father, my blood boils to think this occurs on a regular basis.”

Son of Ocala City Council president among 22 men arrested in child sex sting operation

A recent child sex sting operation led by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of 22 men, including the son of Ocala City Council president Ire Jermaine Bethea, Sr.

The operation, dubbed “April Fools,” was conducted by MCSO with additional assistance provided by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

According to MCSO, undercover law enforcement officers exchanged messages with 19 men who ultimately traveled to locations in Marion County to meet with children between the ages of 12 and 16 for sexual activity.

During the online exchanges, these men engaged in conversations that were sexually explicit and described the various sexual acts that they hoped to perform with the children. Upon arrival at the designated meeting place, they were met by law enforcement officers who placed them under arrest.

One of the notable arrests was 38-year-old Ire Jermaine Bethea, Jr., the son of Ocala City Council president Ire Jermaine Bethea, Sr.

According to the MCSO report, Bethea, Jr. began online communications with a Florida Department of Law Enforcement Agent who was posing as a 14-year-old girl.

During that communication, Bethea, Jr. agreed to meet the minor at a gas station by the Paddock Mall. When he arrived at the location, his vehicle was identified by law enforcement officers and he was arrested.

Bethea, Jr. refused to discuss the incident with the officers. While he was inside an interview room, he was overheard by an MCSO corporal talking to himself. The corporal indicated in an MCSO report that Bethea, Jr. mentioned that he made a mistake and his life was over.

According to MCSO, there were eight additional arrest warrants that were also issued for men who did not travel to Marion County. These men sent sexually explicit pictures to individuals that they believed were minors. Three of these men were arrested while five are actively being sought by law enforcement officers.

“A child’s innocence is something we should all strive to protect. I will continue to use all of my resources to hunt down these predators so they may never hurt a child,” said Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods.

Officials warned the public that they’ve had several reports of “aggressive” foxes on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol in Washington.

According to a Twitter message posted Tuesday by the U.S. Capitol Police, they’ve received “several reports of aggressive fox encounters on or near the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.” They warned people not to approach the animals.

Animal control officials are working to “trap and relocate any foxes they find,” the Capitol Police said in their message.

In another message from the Capitol Police on Monday, officials said there had been reports of “individuals being attacked or bitten by a fox.” One of the incidents happened at the nearby U.S. Botanic Garden, and another incident occurred on the House side of the Capitol near the building foundation.

On Tuesday, Capitol Police officials said they had received another call about a fox that approached staff near First and C streets. They said that fox “may have a den in the mulch bed area on First and C near the Dirksen building.” Officials said there is another possible fox den near the “perimeter of the Russell building.”

Foxes are considered wild animals and officials warned that no one should approach them. They’re known to be “protective of their dens and territory.”

Tim Barber, a spokesman for the U.S. Capitol Police, said Tuesday that it was “not clear if there was one fox or multiple.” He said the first sighting was around 3 p.m. Monday, and then someone “encountered” one about two hours later.

He said some people have been bitten and “others nipped at,” and that it is hard to figure out how many incidents there have been because people are reporting them to various places, including U.S. Capitol Police, area hospitals and clinics.

Barber said officials are “not sure how long” the fox or foxes have been around the Capitol grounds or where they came from.

“If you see a fox, don’t engage with these things,” Barber said. “Call animal control and step away calmly.”

Last year, the Gateway Pundit and White Coat Waste broke the story that Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases spent $375,000 in taxpayer dollars to fund abusive experiments on dogs in Tunisia.

Two months after the story was published, the images of the beagle torture went viral. Fauci’s fan club in the media immediately sprung into action to do damage control for their COVID icon — in particular, Beth Reinhard and Dana Milbank of the Washington Post.

The White Coat Waste Project had used government databases to uncover disturbing documents detailing how Fauci and the NIAID funded researchers in Tunisia to intentionally lock dogs’ heads in mesh cages and unleash infected sand flies so that the parasite-carrying insects could eat them alive.

The published study, which included the troubling photo that went viral, had originally listed funding from NIAID in its financial disclosure and the NIH’s database stated that it funded the Tunisian dog researchers.

Bizarrely, once the photo went viral, months after the original report, NIAID issued a statement denying that it funded the controversial experiment in which sedated dogs were locked in cages with sand flies. In its statement, NIH only admitted to funding an innocuous-sounding study in which “twelve dogs were immunized with the experimental vaccine…and then let out in an enclosed open space during the day….” The published journal article was even edited to say that NIAID “did not provide any funding for this research and any such claim was made in error.”

During their “debunking,” Reinhard had written to the author of the study saying she’s reporting on a “a massive disinformation campaign that is being waged against Anthony Fauci.” She was not looking to report on the story, or determine if it was true, she was looking to protect someone.

The email chain was also obtained by White Coat Waste as part of a FOIA request.

The Post uncritically ran the NIAID’s late denial and branded this reporter and White Coat Waste to be peddlers of disinformation. They asserted the photo and details of the study were part of “the right-wing disinformation machine and its crusade against Fauci.” These “serious journalists” did not consider conflicts of interest that should have raised suspicions about the denial and retraction of the funding statement.

In 44 states, children in the US can get married under the age of 18.

Although each state sets its own age limit, some states allow children as young as 12 to be married off to an adult, leaving minors in a vulnerable position where they can legally marry before being old enough to consent to sex. The age of consent varies by state, but is between the ages of 16 and 18.

Fourteen states' child marriage laws violate statutory rape laws, according to the Journal of Adolescent Health.

Meanwhile, 11 states, including Oregon, North and South Dakota, and Alabama, do not provide marital exemptions. Ten states, however, only provide one in 'some crimes.'

However, the vast majority of the US does provide an exemption to 'all crimes,' according to McGill. These states include: Texas, Ohio, Washington, New York, Hawaii, and more.

Researchers found that a proportion of underage marriages that meet the definition of a sex crime vary from 1 percent to more than 50 percent, with exemptions. Without exemptions, it can be as high as 80 percent, McGill reported.

'Our study exposes the inconsistency between laws that permit children to marry and laws that criminalize sex with children across the US. The research shows that some child marriages are indistinguishable from sex crimes,' a McGill Professor said.

Massachusetts has the youngest age limit, with girls 12 and up and boys 14 and up able to marry with parental consent, according to World Population.

Other states - such as Arkansas and New Hampshire - also have differing ages for males and females. Arkansas limits underage women to 16 and older, while males have to be 17. Meanwhile, New Hampshire is 13 for girls and 14 for boys.

California does not have an age limit, as long as parental consent is obtained, according to World Population.

Only six states have banned underage marriage. The states are: Delaware, New Jersey, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Inflation poses severe challenges for emerging market economies. The latest example is in Peru, where social unrest spreads across the country, forcing the government to impose a curfew in the capital, Lima, on Tuesday, according to Reuters.

"The cabinet has agreed to declare a ban on the mobility of citizens from 2 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. of Tuesday, April 5, to protect the fundamental rights of all people," Peruvian President Pedro Castillo said in a live broadcast last night.

The South American country was already struggling before commodity prices jumped to record highs because of the Ukraine invasion and virus pandemic supply chain disruptions. Social unrest began last month as demonstrations led by farmers and truckers have intensified over soaring food, fuel, and fertilizer prices.

Days ago, Peru Finance Minister Oscar Graham reduced the consumption tax for fuel and basic food items, hoping it would quell protests.

This all comes as Peru's annual inflation hit 6.82% in March from a year earlier, the most since August 1998. April's number is expected to top 7%.

There was a flurry of filings in the Michael Sussmann case late yesterday. Here’s the latest.

On September 19, 2016, DNC/Clinton Campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann met with FBI General Counsel James Baker, where Baker was provided with data and “white paper” purporting to show covert communications (since proven to be bogus) between Russian Alfa Bank and the Trump Organization.

Special Counsel John Durham has just provided evidence that the night before – on September 18, 2016 – Sussmann sent Baker this text:

As it turns out, Sussmann was billing the Clinton Campaign for his work on the Alfa Bank hoax. This text from Sussmann to Baker is damning for Sussmann’s case, proving Sussmann’s efforts at deceiving a top official at the FBI about his clients, and demonstrating how Sussmann tried to convince Baker he was there to supposedly do the right thing.

Notes (produced by Durham) taken by Assistant FBI Director Bill Priestap and former FBI Deputy General Counsel Trisha Anderson – taken in their conversation with Baker after his Sussmann meeting – help corroborate Baker’s recollection of Sussmann’s lies:

In this filing, Sussmann seeks to preclude the use of these notes, arguing they hearsay not subject to an exception. (It also confirms that Priestap has testified before a grand jury – something we posited back in January.) Durham disagrees and argues they are admissible, and Durham likely wins this dispute.

Sussmann also asks the Court to order the Special Counsel to give Rodney Joffe immunity for his testimony – or have the case dismissed.

Of course, Joffe (Tech Executive-1 in the Sussmann indictment) is the Sussmann client who helped lead the effort to manufacture the Alfa Bank/Trump hoax. Sussmann maintains that Joffe would “offer critical exculpatory testimony on behalf of Mr. Sussmann” – but cannot because Durham is “manufacturing incredible claims of continuing criminal liability for Mr. Joffe that are forcing Mr. Joffe to assert his Fifth Amendment right.”

That’s a long way of saying that Joffe faces real (and perhaps imminent) criminal exposure. Let’s talk about that for a moment. The bad news for Joffe is good reading for us.

The April 1, 2022 letter from Joffe’s attorney to Sussmann’s attorney. In this letter (available here – with my highlights), Joffe’s counsel confirmed that Joffe “remains a subject” of the Special Counsel’s investigation. According to Andrew DeFilippis (from the Office of the Special Counsel), Joffe’s “status in the investigation was sufficient to establish a good faith basis to invoke the privilege against self-incrimination.”

To this statement, Joffe’s attorney responded that the statute of limitations had run since the events described in the Sussmann indictment. The Special Counsel disagreed, stating that “certain fraud statutes have longer than a five-year limitations period,” and the Russian Yota phone-related allegations (given to the CIA in February 2017) “percolated through various branches of the government and around the private sector after that date, in various forms.”

Russia to Fine Wikipedia If It Doesn’t Remove ‘False Information’ on Ukraine Invasion

Russia’s media regulator on Tuesday threatened to fine Wikipedia nearly $50,000 if the online encyclopedia doesn’t delete “material with inaccurate information” about its attack on Ukraine.

Roskomnadzor, the communications regulator, has accused Wikipedia of hosting “false information” on what Russia calls its “special operation” in Ukraine and on the actions of Russia’s military too.

“Recently, materials have been posted on Wikipedia that disseminates unreliable information on the subject of a special military operation in Ukraine,” Roskomnadzor said in a statement posted on Telegram. “Wikipedia should remove materials with unreliable information of public interest.”

“The authors of articles posted on Wikipedia deliberately misinform Internet resource users with frankly false information,” it said. “In the articles published, an exclusively anti-Russian interpretation of events is promoted.”

Larry Sanger, a co-founder of Wikipedia, warned last July that the online encyclopedia is “more one-sided than ever” and “with few exceptions, only globalist, progressive mainstream sources—and sources friendly to globalist progressivism—are permitted.”

According to Russian law, Roskomnadzor can fine administrators of an Internet resource by up to 4 million roubles ($48,120.30) if it fails to remove materials deemed illegal by Moscow, the regulator said.
