FBI Director Christopher Wray said the bureau slowed down its internal disciplinary process for the Crossfire Hurricane investigation at the request of special counsel John Durham, who is conducting a criminal inquiry into the officials tasked with scrutinizing former President Donald Trump's ties to Russia.
Sen. John Kennedy broached the topic during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday, asking Wray how many FBI employees he had referred for prosecution as a result of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s 2019 critical report on the Russia investigation. After Wray said the prosecution issue was in Durham's hands, he was asked how many people he fired in response to the independent watchdog's findings.
“Most of the people involved in the Horowitz report are former employees. Of the ones who are current, every single one of them, even if mentioned only in passing, has been referred to our Office of Responsibility, which is our disciplinary arm,” Wray testified. “Now, that piece, and this is important, that piece of it, because we are cooperating fully with Mr. Durham’s investigation, at his request, we had slowed that process down to allow his criminal investigation to proceed. So, at the moment, that process is still underway in order to make sure that we’re being appropriately sensitive to the criminal investigation.”
Wray also was prompted to talk about the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which was a focus of Horowitz's inquiry. The inspector general’s report criticized the Justice Department and the FBI for at least 17 “significant errors and omissions” related to the FISA warrants against Trump 2016 campaign associate Carter Page and for the bureau's reliance on the Democratic-funded, discredited dossier by British ex-spy Christopher Steele.
Sen. Mike Lee asserted that the “consistent theme” he witnessed when raising concerns about FISA with FBI leaders over the years has been, “just trust us. Don’t worry. We’ve got good people, smart people, law-abiding people who are running this, and we’ve got procedural safeguards in place to prevent the type of abuse that you’re concerned about.” The Utah Republican asked Wray what actions he had taken in the wake of Horowitz’s report.

Michigan National Guard Troops in DC Hospitalized After Democrat Run City Repeatedly Feeds Them Raw, Undercooked Meat and Meals With Metal Shavings

More than a dozen Michigan National Guard troops deployed to Washington, D.C. have been sickened, with some hospitalized, after being served raw, undercooked meat and meals laced with metal shavings according to a report by WXYZ-TV reporter Brian Abel Monday evening. Other meals the troops have received courtesy of a contractor selected by the Democrat run D.C. government are leaving the troops malnourished. The problem with the undercooked food has being going for weeks but apparently yesterday’s meals were so bad they prompted a staff sergeant to contact the Detroit news station.
Guard troops are being kept in D.C. because the Democrats in total control of the federal and local government fear a reprise of the storming of the Capitol that took place January 6. Last week Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman said, “We know that members of the militia groups that were present on January 6 have stated their desires that they want to blow up the Capitol and kill as many members as possible with a direct nexus to the State of the Union, which we know that date has not been identified.”
In his report, Abel played a recording of a whistleblower describing meals: 74 with raw beef in one delivery and lunches served on Sunday with metal shavings. Other meals are described as a dinner roll and Sunny D. Photos sent by the whistleblower were included in the report showing raw, undercooked chicken, metal shavings on rice and a meal pack with snacks suitable for a school field trip–not deployed troops.
Abel reports soldiers are now being given MREs and that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) is now involved.
Later Monday Abel posted a comment from the Michigan National Guard. Rather than announcing the troops would be immediately recalled home by Gov. Whitmer for their safety and well being , the statement says they will remain in D.C. until the end of their tour sometime after March 12.

“So first off, as you may know, we accepted all of the findings and recommendations in the inspector general’s report. I ordered at the time over 40 corrective actions that go above and beyond the inspector general’s report, and those have been implemented,” Wray said. “Those include everything from strengthening our procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness to ensure the court gets all the information it’s supposed to, changes in protocols for confidential human sources, training changes, I created a new office of internal audit that is specifically focused on FISA auditing.”
During prior testimony in February 2020, Wray agreed there had been at least some illegal surveillance during congressional testimony. ”I certainly think that it describes conduct that is utterly unacceptable," Wray said of Horowitz’s report, telling Congress then that the bureau had started to “claw back” information gathered through FISA warrants.
After Horowitz’s report was released, the FISA court issued a rare public order criticizing the FBI's handling of the Page applications as "antithetical to the heightened duty of candor." The Justice Department told the FISA court last year that at least the final two of four Page FISA warrants were “not valid."
Durham’s criminal inquiry has netted just one guilty plea so far, with former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith admitting to editing a CIA email in 2017 to state that Page was “not a source” for the CIA. Clinesmith, who resigned from the bureau before an internal disciplinary process was completed, was sentenced to probation, and the FISA court has ordered a review of all FISA filings handled by him.
Durham announced Friday that he was resigning as the U.S. attorney for Connecticut effective Sunday at midnight following President Biden asking all Senate-confirmed federal prosecutors to hand in their resignation letters, but he still remains on as special counsel as he reviews the origins and conduct of the bureau’s inquiry into Russian election meddling and allegations of collusion. Judge Merrick Garland, Biden’s pick for attorney general, has declined to promise specifically that Durham will be allowed to finish his investigation.

REPLY: I know for a fact they have allowed Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to exist in order to condition people into accepting the end of paper money. I cannot understand people who think I am wrong and somehow cryptocurrencies will overthrow the dollar and governments. Really? Does anyone really believe that governments will just relinquish power willingly?
We are headed into a wave of inflation, but one that is constructed on shortages. One need only look at the systemic problems behind the shortages created by a planned economy during the communist era. A goods shortage was the norm. Those under communism were confronted with chronically empty store shelves. When the shelves were replenished on rare occasions, there were long lines that would form outside the stores for blocks. I had a Russian girl who worked for me as a programmer. She said the number one problem coming to America was having to make decisions in the store. He said we had only one type of toilet paper. There are so many here. She didn’t know how to buy anything.
Even in China, there were ration coupons that became the norm. Just about everything was rationed. This is what takes place when the government is in control of production be it directly, or through what we are beginning to see, outrageous regulations.
This is NOT really a question of I TOLD YOU SO. This is not a contest of my opinion v someone else. I really have to wonder if some of those mouthing those absurd forecasts are not being made as deliberate misinformation to move people toward a digital currency. They defy all reason and show either sublime stupidity or cunning devious misinformation.
I warned back on January 21, 2021, that BigTech sees the power to overthrow the banks. They have promised worldwide that they want everyone in the banking system to end paper money, which is over 1 billion people (just read the IMF). This is why they were blocking Trump and funneling money to the Democrats who bribed them with the dream of international banking. If governments take Schwab’s solution and default on all its debt, then they NO LONGER NEED THE BANKERS to sell their bonds. Branch banking will come to an end and these people think they will move to a controlled economy with no private debt. They are out of their minds!
I know what I am talking about. I have shaken the hand of Schwab. Have any of these people claiming Bitcoin will overthrow the dollar ever talked to anyone in authority? I have met with board members of the IMF. There are those who are so desperate to convince people not to listen to me because they are part of the entire scam against We the People.
Schwab and his cohorts think locking us all down and destroying the economy and production is a good thing. I cannot see how ANYONE takes a position against me who is not really working against our freedom and human rights.

Google fires founder and co-head of AI ethics unit, announces reorganization of AI teams
Google has fired Margaret Mitchell, the founder and co-head of its artificial intelligence ethics unit, for violating the company’s code of conduct.
The firing came less than three months after the controversial exit of another senior figure in the company’s AI ethics unit, Timnit Gebru.
Google said that an investigation found Mitchell had moved files outside the company.
Despite her position in the company, Mitchell was a fierce critic of Google. Both Mitchell and Gebru had campaigned for more diversity at Google and raised concerns about censorship within the company.
According to her LinkedIn, Mitchell joined Google in 2016 as a senior research scientist. Two years later, she helped start the ethical AI team alongside Gebru.
She tweeted “I’m fired” shortly after learning the company’s decision.
A day before Mitchell’s firing, Google announced the reorganization of its AI teams working on ethics and fairness.
The company said that Marian Croak, a prominent Black executive from its engineering department, would now be leading “a new center of expertise on responsible AI within Google Research.” She would report to Jeff Dean, the company’s AI division head.
Dean wanted a fresh start. In an internal email, he apologized to staff for how the company handled Gebru’s departure.

BAGHDAD (AP) — At least 10 rockets targeted an Iraqi military base in western Iraq on Wednesday that hosts U.S.-led coalition troops, a coalition spokesman said.
The rockets struck Ain al-Asad airbase in Anbar province at 7:20 a.m., spokesman Col. Wayne Marotto said. It was not immediately known if there were any casualties.

New Picture shows Iran’s missile strike on US compound in Iraq
U.S. Central Command released two minutes of unclassified drone footage Monday that it had provided to the news program showing the attack at al Asad. Tehran launched the barrage in retaliation for a U.S. drone strike days earlier in Baghdad that killed Iran’s Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, head of its elite Quds Force.
The surveillance video indicates several missile impacts damaged or destroyed aircraft hangars, office areas, living spaces, gyms, chow halls and other facilities along the base’s flight line.
It was the largest ballistic missile attack ever against Americans, 60 Minutes’ David Martin reported, and it brought the U.S. perilously close to war with Iran.
CENTCOM boss Gen. Frank McKenzie told Martin the strike could have killed up to 150 Americans and destroyed 30 aircraft if the U.S.-led coalition hadn’t taken measures to move people out of harm’s way ahead of time.
“Had Americans been killed it would have been very different,” McKenzie said. “We had a plan to retaliate if Americans died.”

For 30 million Texans, the lockdown nightmare is over, at least for now.
With the CDC still scrambling to find any pretext to extend draconian lockdown measures and the new CDC director explicitly urging states not to relax restrictions, on Tuesday Texas Governor Greg Abbott defied the organization whose politicization has become a stamp of humiliation, and announced that the second-largest US state will lift the mask mandate and all other anti-pandemic restrictions amid declining hospitalizations and infection rates.
Effective March 10, all businesses will be allowed to open at 100% of capacity, Abbott said during a media briefing in Lubbock on Tuesday. His executive order allows county judges to reinstate anti-virus rules should hospitalizations surge.
“Too many Texans have been sidelined from employment opportunities; too many small-business owners have struggled to pay their bills,” the Republican governor said. “It is now time to open Texas 100%.”
Abbott’s anti-pandemic measures had drawn the ire of his conservative electoral base, which saw them as government overreach, and may have crushed any presidential aspirations he harbored. Indeed, Abbott received 0% of the vote in a presidential straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference this past weekend according to Bloomberg.
Meanwhile, new Covid-19 cases in Texas dropped to a five-month low of 1,637 on Monday, state health department figures showed, while virus hospitalizations slipped to the smallest tally since Oct. 28. This comes as Texas is administering more than 1 million Covid-19 vaccinations weekly, according to Abbott.
Update (1700ET): Shortly after Gov. Abbott's decision to follow the science and allow the people of his state to be 'free' to judge their own risks once again, none other than California Gov. Newsom - desperate to virtue-signal as he fights for political survival amid an imminent recall vote - had a two word response: "Absolutely reckless"

Media’s MeTooing of Andrew Cuomo Is Really About Protecting Four Democrat Governors
In a just world not plagued by a fake and corrupt media, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) would be on the edge of resigning his office today, not over a handful of times he allegedly got aggressive with women, but over his sociopathic executive order that required nursing homes to accept patients still infected with the coronavirus.
That, after all, is the real scandal here, the true scandal, an act so monstrous Cuomo knew he had to cover it up, which he did by falsely blaming the order on the Trump administration and then lying about just how many seniors died as a result.
But instead of being pressured to resign over that, he’s being hit with perfectly-timed allegations of sexual misconduct, two involving former staffers, one involving a complete stranger he met at a wedding.
As these things go, while his alleged behavior is inappropriate (especially in the workplace), it’s nothing compared to the credible allegations against His Fraudulency Joe Biden, which involve a full-blown sexual assault allegation. Biden got away with much, much worse, so…
So what’s going on? Why is America’s corrupt media not at all interested in some 15,000 dead senior citizens while they tar and feather Cuomo over the allegations he made three left-wing women uncomfortable?
The answer is obvious…
Four other Democrat governors issued the same sociopathic nursing home order as Cuomo. Four other Democrats ordered infected coronavirus patients be admitted into nursing home facilities where 1) the most vulnerable live, and 2) they’re not set up to handle an infectious virus.
What this means is that if the corrupt media were to do the right thing (like that will ever happen) and go after Cuomo over his deadly nursing home policy, it would open a Pandora’s Box against these four Democrat governors and the Democrat party as a whole, which is something our fake media will never do.
Democrats must be protected at all costs, even if the cost is thousands and thousands of lives.
Here’s the rundown from my colleague Wendell Husebo:
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) issued an order that a long-term care facility “must not prohibit admission or readmission of a resident based on COVID-19 [coronavirus] testing requirements or results.” The policy was renewed three times before being rescinded in July 2020.
Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA) administration ordered on April 10, 2020, that “patients hospitalized, or receiving treatment at an alternate care site, with COVID-19 can be discharged to a [skilled nursing facility] when clinically indicated.”
Gov. Phil Murphy (D-NJ) approved a directive from state Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli that said no patient could be denied admission or readmission to a nursing home “solely based on a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19.” …
Gov. Tom Wolf (D-PA) enacted a mandatory admission policy in March, saying “nursing care facilities must continue to accept new admissions and receive readmissions for current residents who have been discharged from the hospital who are stable.”

Funding for a rail project near House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s California district that Republicans denounced as wasteful was removed Tuesday from President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill.
The Senate parliamentarian ruled the $140 million appropriation wasn’t allowed under the so-called Byrd rule that polices unrelated items in budget reconciliation bills.
Republicans singled out the rail project as an example of unrelated “pork” in the bill, which is being rammed through Congress without Republican support using special rules that allow a simple majority vote in the Senate.
On Tuesday, Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) ridiculed the project as Pelosi’s “tunnel of love” ahead of an anticipated vote on the package later this week.
Aides to Pelosi, who represents San Francisco, had defended the project, saying that ridership for mass-transit plummeted during the pandemic, making it reasonable to increase government spending.
This didn’t get much news coverage. Why is that?

Agents say a big rig hauling the trailer, also known as a "reefer," pulled through the checkpoint just before 1:30 Friday morning. Border Patrol says the driver's immigration check came back clean, but they say he was visibly nervous, so they sent him to secondary inspection.
Agents say they opened the trailer to inspect the cargo, and discovered eight illegal immigrants. They say the temperature was just 45-degrees inside the reefer. Border Patrol says, in spite of the cold, none of the migrants needed medical attention.
The driver was a U.S. citizen. Agents arrested him on federal human smuggling charges. Agents also took the migrants into custody. They included seven Mexican nationals; three women and four men, and a male Chinese immigrant.
Agents eventually expelled the Mexicans across the border. The Chinese migrant will be held until he can be sent to his home country.
