Sullivan is part of the Insurgence USA group, according to a police affidavit.

Between 80 and 100 people were part of the protest.

“The protest traveled on the roadways blocking motorists who have the right of way. John Sullivan blocked vehicles from freely moving lawfully. During the course of the protest, two handguns were brandished and two shots fired toward a motorist traveling to Home Depot. Vehicles were damaged by protestors as well as by John Sullivan,” the affidavit states.

“As a protest organizer John Sullivan is heard and seen as he is promoting protesters to block roadways, keeping motorists from traveling lawfully and freely.”

Sullivan was also captured on video threatening to beat a woman in an SUV, according to the affidavit, and then kicking her door, leaving a dent.

Sullivan was seen with Jesse Taggart — the man charged with shooting the motorist — throughout the protest, the affidavit states.

“As a protest organizer, John Sullivan is heard talking about seeing the shooting, looking at the gun and seeing smoke coming from it. John did not condemn the attempted murder nor attempt to stop it nor aide in its investigation by police.”

IF I were a conspiracy theorist, I'd first consider the following facts:

Then, I would come up with the craziest theory as to how the Trump administration and it's law enforcement Executive branch would save the Republic from the undeniable, intentional destruction the Biden administration is planning for it:

The Trump administration along with the loyalists at the DoD, State Department and DNI, created a plan to bolster a military presence around the country under the guise of "protecting the nation from Trump supporters": The escorting of Trump supporters into the Capitol by Capitol police was mandated by Trump's DoD via whitehat congressional moles in order to justify staging National Guard troops around the country in preparation for the ultimate plan: dismantle the Biden administration and its traitors.

The DoD only needed to have troops around the country to protect against ANY insurrection - it doesn't matter who does it: Trump supporters, BLM, Antifa - whatever; they will be prepared.

IF the Biden administration is dismantled, socialist antifa liberals will undoubtedly attempt to riot, burn down cities and absolutely murder Trump supporters - the Guard (and the Marines who support them) will be ready. It's the ultimate switcharoo.

Facebook said all the data collected remained on users' phones not servers.

Huawei said its cooperation with Facebook was to improve user services.

Facebook is already under scrutiny over how it uses members' information.

WASHINGTON ― Capitol Police briefed Democrats on Monday night about three more potentially gruesome demonstrations planned in the coming days, with one plot to encircle the U.S. Capitol and assassinate Democrats and some Republicans.

On a private call Monday night, new leaders of the Capitol Police told House Democrats they were closely monitoring three separate plans that could pose serious threats to members of Congress as Washington prepares for Democrat Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration on Jan. 20.

The first is a demonstration billed as the “largest armed protest ever to take place on American soil.”

Following the horrific events in Washington, DC, last week, here are some of the steps we’ve taken to protect the conversation on our service from attempts to incite violence, organize attacks, and share deliberately misleading information about the election outcome. It’s important to be transparent about all of this work as the US Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2021, approaches.

We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. Given the violent events in Washington, DC, and increased risk of harm, we began permanently suspending thousands of accounts that were primarily dedicated to sharing QAnon content on Friday afternoon.

Many of the individuals impacted by this updated enforcement action held multiple accounts, driving up the total number of accounts impacted. Since Friday, more than 70,000 accounts have been suspended as a result of our efforts, with many instances of a single individual operating numerous accounts. These accounts were engaged in sharing harmful QAnon-associated content at scale and were primarily dedicated to the propagation of this conspiracy theory across the service.

Our updated enforcement on QAnon content on Twitter, along with routine spam challenges, has resulted in changes in follower count for some people’s Twitter accounts. In some cases, these actions may have resulted in follower count changes in the thousands.

As stipulated in this policy that we announced ahead of the 2020 US election, accounts that have Tweeted or Retweeted associated content will continue to be subject to limited visibility across search, replies, and on timelines and are prohibited from being recommended to others by Twitter. It’s important that these types of accounts — that are not predominantly engaged in sharing this material — can see different perspectives in the open public conversation that Twitter uniquely provides.

Our teams are discussing ways we can empower research into QAnon and coordinated harmful activity on Twitter.

During the past several weeks, misleading and false information surrounding the 2020 US presidential election has been the basis for incitement to violence around the country. We took action on these claims in line with our Civic Integrity policy

Now that the results of the election have been officially certified by Congress, we updated our Civic Integrity policy on Friday to aggressively increase our enforcement action on these claims. The updated policy provides details about how we enforce against violations of this policy, including repeated sharing of Tweets that receive warning labels. Ultimately, repeated violations of this policy can result in permanent suspension…

…On Tuesday, we limited engagement by no longer allowing any Tweets labeled for violations of our civic integrity policy to be replied to, Liked or Retweeted. People on Twitter are still able to Quote Tweet to share this content with additional context or their own perspective.

We want Trends to promote healthy conversations on Twitter. This means, at times, we may prevent certain content from trending. There are rules for Trends, and if we identify Trends that violate these rules, we’ll take enforcement action…

…As always, while accounts are undergoing these challenges, they’re temporarily removed from follower counts. This, along with our updated enforcement around coordinated harmful activity, means some people may notice drops or fluctuations in their follower count.

Ahead of the inauguration, we’ll continue to monitor the situation, keep open lines of communication with law enforcement, and keep the public informed of additional enforcement actions.

Turkish 'sex cult' leader sentenced to 1,000 years in prison

A Turkish court has sentenced the leader of an evangelical sex cult to one thousand years in prison for a litany of sexual offences and fraud.

Adnan Oktar, who promoted creationism on his conservative Islamic TV channel, was known for surrounding himself with scantily dressed women whom he called his “kittens” before his arrest in 2018.

He was detained with around 200 other suspects by Istanbul police and on Monday was jailed for 1,075 years for crimes including sexual assault, sexual abuse of children, fraud and attempted political and military espionage.

The 64-year-old was also found guilty of backing a group led by the US-based Muslim preacher Fethullah Gulen, whom Turkey says was behind an attempted military coup in 2016.

The court sentenced two executives in Oktar's organisation, Tarkan Yavas and Oktar Babuna, to 211 and 186 years, respectively.

During the trial, which heard harrowing testimonies from victims of sexual abuse, Oktar denied being associated with Mr Gulen and also insisted he was not the head of a "sex cult".

At a hearing in September, Mr Oktar told a judge he had around 1,000 “girlfriends” which he attributed to his “overflowing of love in my heart for women.”

He also claimed on a separate occasion to be “extraordinarily potent.”

One victim who gave evidence at the trial, and was identified only as CC for legal reasons, said Oktar repeatedly sexually abused her and other women.

The woman, who joined the cult aged 17, said some of the women raped by Oktar had been forced to take contraceptives afterwards.

I noticed something about the Kansas twats. He's been doing this since the 1st and every day has been a different number of twats. Other drops I got were 1420, 1526, 1618, 1721, 1832, 1924. Then when I got to 1/10, I added the first two digits (1+1), kept the third (0) and the number of twats so 1/10 + 24 twats gave me #2024. Yesterday was 1/11 with 23 twats. (1+1) 1 (23) or #2123.

Most of the drops referenced immediately appear relevant. I just don't know what the purpose would be this late in the game. Thoughts?

The United States Government has extensively studied the concept of second American Civil War (along the assumption that it will be left versus right. HMM. I WONDER WHY THEY MIGHT POSSIBLY DO THAT.)

Their conclusion is as follows: They don’t have a snowball’s chance in Hell of winning. The moment civil war is declared, the government loses. No scenario or outcome ends in their success. Period. It’s just a matter of how long it takes.

A longer analysis will follow, but here are the salient points.

30% of the American population will actively revolt.

This alone is enormous and damning. Historically, you only need 10% of the population to actively participate in a rebellion to successfully overthrow the establishment: We only had 15% of the population actively attempting to throw out the British during the Revolutionary War; roughly 70% of what remained was neutral and simply stood by. By contrast, 30% of Americans in modern America would support a revolution to stop their own government if it happened tomorrow That’s how discontent the people are and how much the people don’t support the government.

The government would need infrastructure more than rebels would.

Already working with significant handicaps, the establishment would need electricity, access to the Internet, bridges, and airports to coordinate any active campaign against the rebellion. By contrast, the rebellion can work in the dark. Considering how easy it would be to sabotage US infrastructure, one of the first things the rebellion would do is collapse bridges, destroy, or seize power plants, and cover the Interstate in IEDs. This is relatively simple to accomplish, and it would inflict enormous damage on the establishment’s ability to restore order. It would also cost an enormous amount of time and effort to fix any sabotage, because the establishment would need to provide military protection to any workers attempting to rebuild, which is a drain their active fighting personnel resources that they could not afford.

Taking America in a land war is almost impossible.

The United States is absolutely full of natural terrain chokepoints, making marching an army across it against armed resistance almost impossible, and it is large enough that no sustained air campaign would be possible. The Japanese Admiralty realized this themselves during WWII, which is why many of them were against attempting to invade. Also, by an interesting coincidence, most of those chokepoints are in hard conservative states, where the resistance would be strongest. The government would lack the ability to reclaim its own land by force, especially when the previous point about infrastructure is taken into account. President Lincoln, on the matter of potential European involvement in the first American Civil War, stated, “All the armies of Europe with a Bonaparte as a commander, could not take a drink from the Ohio.”

A significant majority–between 55 and 70%–of the military would defect to the side of the citizens.

The problem with suppressing the people with a military, that literature and fantasy tend to overlook or ignore, is that the military is the people, too. In order to get any military to fight their own, you first have to convince them that it is necessary to do so–that it is justified. The Communists also ran into this problem, but they overcame it with psychological conditioning and creating a dog-eat-dog atmosphere within the military. The American government having actively recruited people who are patriotic, practical, brave, who have civilian families, and having reinforced those values throughout their training process, lacks the ability to convince the majority of their fighting force to engage against their own people. The moment a civil war breaks out, over half of the American military will defect to the rebel side. They will bring military gear with them and, more dangerous, military training. lt only takes one Navy Seal or Army Ranger to potentially train hundreds of civilians into a dangerous resistance force. They’ve done it before, in other nations. You can be damn sure they can do it on their own home turf.

But it gets better.

At least 10% of the people who defect to the civilian side would not do so openly, and they would not abandon their posts.

The moment a civil war starts, not only does America lose over half its military to the cause, but their own command structure will suddenly be infested with moles, plants, and “traitors.” There would be almost no way of knowing who is actually on their side and who is supporting the uprising. Worse yet, if one of those people happens to be the captain of one of the nuclear submarines on standby in dark water, the civil war is already lost before it even gets started.

Russia has already publicly stated that it will support any rebellion in the United States against the established government and will send troops and aid to support the resistance. This is pretty self-explanatory. The last thing the government would need during a civil war is Russia breathing down its neck, but they would get exactly that. To supplement two-thirds of their own military leaving and civilians being trained by military elites, Spetsnaz would drop in and the resistance would get armor and air support from the only other nation on the planet that stands a decent chance of fighting us openly and winning.

The media fearmongers because it’s profitable.

The media, for all of its paid shillery, would give coverage of everything the resistance does because it is immensely profitable for them to do so. It would be guaranteed views. The only response the establishment would have would be to either allow it or order a total media blackout on the rebellion. Either way they lose, because both outcomes would awaken hundreds of thousands–if not millions–of people. We can only win on the media arena, and they can only lose. It’s merely a matter of what they think will minimize their losses.

American civilians are armed and dangerous.

In spite of all of the illegal attempts from the political left to disarm the American people, there are approximately 89 guns for every 100 Americans. Furthermore, we are one of the top three arms manufacturers on the planet (the others being Russia and France). The establishment would be in trouble even if their opponents were unarmed, but any rebellion of the people in America is, by definition, an armed one. They could be easily armed further by stealing weapons or even outright being given them by sympathetic interests (unsurprisingly, an overwhelming number of weapons manufacturers on American soil are deeply traditionalist, and the odds are good that many minor–and at least one major–would side with the rebels).

The last resort Catch 22.

The United States has an enormous stockpile of munitions and explosives, up to and including a massive number of nuclear warheads. But they cannot use any of this in this Civil War. The establishment has to play a game of “we’re the good guys” with the rest of the world while this is all taking place. There will be lines they cannot cross, because to do so would elevate the issue from being an internal matter to an international one. The moment they throw an ICBM at Ohio or drop a nuke on Austin, Texas, it stops being a civil war and becomes an international relief effort where the other militaries of the other first world nations come to save the American people from their own out-of-control and tyrannical government. The rebellion, meanwhile, is not nearly so limited re: the hypothetical nuclear submarine captain. The rebels could threaten–without bluffing–to nuke Washington DC, but the establishment has no equivalent threat they could return.

Deeper Analysis:

If there was a revolution in the US, the rest of the world would get involved, fast. Depending on the type of uprising, there is a large chance that it would not be a quick affair. It would be brutal, it would be bloody, and the US government could start a global scale war.

Here are the top ten issues that came up:

The US power grid can be taken down by a series of “surgical strikes” with the exception of the Texas grid. By surgical strikes, I mean a few marksmen (US army-tier Marksmen–the minimum requirement) hitting certain spots on the grid would fuck a lot of the military and government because they need the grid more than Bubba and his friends do. Additionally, while all government agencies have backup generators, they will be hard pressed dealing with the resultant looting and other madness that would come with power outages. This would effectively create another front for the military. It would also turn the people against the government more quickly and paralyze the government’s propaganda machine. Worse still–the key points of the US power grid are publicly obtainable information, and not only are the points too many to be effectively guarded, they are not guarded anyway.

The estimated desertion rate in case of a civil war is 75% in the case of a left-wing president. 50% of that would be assumed to immediately betray the president. The remaining (treasonous) military would be fighting its own. Yet another front created in the war. Additionally, there is an assumed 25-50% desertion or outright betrayal rate in three letter government agencies (FBI, CIA, NSA, ATC, TSA, etc.). Additionally, it is assumed that 5% of the initial 50% betrayers would stay in their job and become saboteurs. 10% of that 50% would contain key information that would be of critical danger to the US government. Of that 10%, 1% would be able to deliver that information to the US’ foreign enemies. What you should get from this is that the second the United States government declares war on its own is the second it ceases to exist as the state we know it.

“Tea baggers,” “right-wing extremists,” and “oath keepers” which are considered untrained racists who aren’t “good with a gun” often are A) veterans who now have more time to have fun at the range, sometimes more than some Army units or Marine units. In addition to previous military training, B) often camp and do other outdoor activities–more than many in the military do, as the focus has gone away from field exercises, and C) often have better equipment–outside of armor and heavy weapons–than the military. However, C) is kind of irrelevant because many of the places in which these people could hide would make the kind of war the US fights with the equipment they use pointless.

Outside influence is a huge problem. Russia has already stated they would back a Texas separatist movement, and right now we already have enough problem keeping Islam in check. The second the US has to fight in a “civil war” is the second it becomes a proxy war between NATO and whoever wants to mess with America. While America has amazing nuclear and air defense, if it comes to a civil war you have to assume that in a best cast scenario the US military is going to be operating at 50% capacity at best. Shit would go down. Hard. And fast. And if Russia–spoiler alert: one of the best militaries in the world at fighting in an urban environment–sent trainers and helpers to rebels, you can reliably bet that they would also possibly deliver weapons to them. So instead of fighting “Timmy TeaBagger,” you are fighting “Timmy TeaBagger who is buddies with Vlad.”

A civil war is not just the US versus the rebels. There will be looting. There will be rioting. Cities will burn. The National Guard cannot fight both the rebels and rioters in a city that would also cut off their supplies. Additionally, if you don’t think that the rebels will send in instigators into the cities–or worse, stand alone actors (A Lone Wolf on steroids. Think Timothy McVeigh, but instead of one van they have a whole fleet of them. A good movie example would be Bane)–you would be mistaken. If the US government cannot even help its own people, why would its own people support the remaining (treasonous) military? Worse yet, if someone emptied out prisons (There are more prisoners in the US than there are people in the entire Chinese Army), you would have more crime than the police could ever handle.

Logistics and infrastructure in the US are crumbling and failing. Any war fought against a rebellion in the US would be a logistical nightmare, even before the rebels started going full Al-Qaida and putting IEDs in the road. A retired general who was contracting with us on the team said, “The only thing holding together the US’ infrastructure is duct tape and the will of the Department of Transportation. And often enough, there isn't enough duct tape.” Your most loyal cities to the US government, as we polled, are also the most logistically easy to cut off. NYC? San Fran? L.A.? D.C.? Baltimore? Most of them require crossing water to enter, from certain directions. Most of them have critical airports. Some of them have critical ocean ports. If anything happened to just TWO of the cities on the list, it would create a logistical clusterfuck.

Your “Johnny Reb” and “Timmy TeaBagger” states (i.e., “red” states) all have something most of your “oh so progressive,” “Aren’t we so European,” “Oh my god, we are just like Sweden,” blue states don’t. Blues are mainly consumer states. Reds are producer states. Urban areas don’t have farms. The second that shit goes down, realize a lot of those blue areas are likely to starve. In a civil war scenario, we predicted that at least 10,000 people would die of starvation if the war was not finished in a year. The numbers get worse after that. Or better, rather, for the country after the war.

The US has way too many choke points, and the government forces would often be on the wrong side of them. This ties into the logistical nightmare, but it also has to do with an odd phenomena. Liberals like to live near the ocean. Many of the dividers of the country, like the Rocky Mountains, the Mississippi River, Appalachia, the Missouri River (fun fact: the biggest choke point for the US government is in Missouri) are red state areas. Sure, air travel is a thing, but a majority of the US government's needs would have to travel by ground. Even still, many of the major airports are outside of the city. Of course, the US would use military base air fields, but if civil war did break out… which bases would be safe? Which ones would have fallen to the deserters?

PR Nightmare. Every rebel killed on CNN would be spun as “the US government killed X Civilians today in a strike” on foreign news and pirate media not owned by the government. That is–as pointed out earlier–if the US media could even function in a civil war or uprising. Your “rebel scum” know that the main thing that holds together the US–nay life in the US as we know it–is the 24 hour news cycle and the media. This one is either 1 or 10, depending on who is asked. The US will never nuke its own. The second it does, they have lost the civil war and other countries will come to “liberate” the US from its own “repressive regime.” Additionally, if any general, minuteman, nuke tech, or nuke sub captain decided to side with the rebellion, the US government is immediately SOL.

In short: The second that a “civilian uprising” or “extremist group terrorist attack” turns into “civil war” is the second the US loses. As a result, you will never see a civil war. You will see Waco, you will see Bundy Ranch, you will see all sorts of militant group confrontations and maybe even some skirmishes. But the US government fears its own people way the fuck too much to ever start a civil war.

As an American, I want all other Americans here to remember this. The government is against you, almost openly now, but they also know that they cannot win if it comes to open war. We have a trump card they cannot match. If it comes to a fight, THEY WILL LOSE, so there are elements in the establishment who will do absolutely everything in their power to prevent it from coming to that. The US Government is not in support of its people, and the people are not in support of the government.

It is within the means of certain interests to start World War III simply as a distraction to avoid an American Civil War, because, by their reckoning, it is better to ruin other “lesser” nations like Syria and spill the blood of patriots than lose their own grip on power. Harvard removes Republican Elise Stefanik from advisory committee

BOSTON — The Harvard Institute of Politics removed Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) from its Senior Advisory Committee in the wake of last week's deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol, pointing to her unfounded claims of voter fraud in the November election.

"Elise has made public assertions about voter fraud in November’s presidential election that have no basis in evidence, and she has made public statements about court actions related to the election that are incorrect," Harvard Kennedy School Dean Douglas Elmendorf wrote in a letter released Tuesday. "Moreover, these assertions and statements do not reflect policy disagreements but bear on the foundations of the electoral process through which this country’s leaders are chosen."

The school initially asked Stefanik to step aside, according to Elmendorf. When the New York lawmaker declined, the school removed her. Stefanik was among the 147 House Republicans who voted against certifying President-elect Joe Biden's electoral victory.

For her part, Stefanik called her removal "a rite of passage and badge of honor." Stefanik graduated from the university in 2006.

"The decision by Harvard's administration to cower and cave to the woke Left will continue to erode diversity of thought," Stefanik wrote in a statement on Twitter. "The Ivory Tower's march toward a monoculture of like-minded, intolerant liberal views demonstrates the sneering disdain for everyday Americans and will instill a culture of fear for students."

The decision to drop Stefanik from the board comes amid backlash after the riot at the Capitol last week. Some major corporations have ceased political donations in response to the incident, and Trump has fielded a flurry of resignations from his administration. The FBI warned on Monday that more violent demonstrations are being planned.

The Harvard Institute of Politics has faced criticism for inviting former members of President Donald Trump's administration to serve as fellows. The school developed a new vetting process in 2018 after facing national backlash for inviting fellows including former press secretary Sean Spicer, according to the Harvard Crimson.

With President Donald Trump expected to make a public address in Texas, CNN has vowed not to air the president’s speech live and in full, and called on other “responsible networks” to skip the appearance.

After a tumultuous week that saw Trump accused of sedition over last Wednesday’s riot on Capitol Hill, then threatened with impeachment and excommunicated from social media, the president ventured outside the White House on Tuesday en route to Alamo, Texas.

Ostensibly traveling to Alamo to visit a section of border wall, Trump will likely deliver a lengthy speech, his first since a pre-recorded message last week condemning his supporters who broke the law at the Capitol.

CNN won’t be covering the speech live, host Brian Stelter revealed in a newsletter on Tuesday morning. “There’s a lot of concern about what he’ll say and how he’ll say it,” Stelter wrote, adding that “responsible TV networks will not air Trump live and in full. Not after his incitement last week.”

“Fox and other pro-Trump networks will air Trump live, while other outlets will exercise editorial judgment and ingest what he says, then decide if any of it is newsworthy,” Stelter continued. “Maybe Fox management will prove me wrong and skip the speech, we’ll see…”

At least one pro-Trump network, Right Side Broadcasting Network, has promised to carry Trump’s appearance in full.

Trump has been accused of incitement since he rallied his supporters outside the White House on Wednesday and urged them to march on the US Capitol. However, Trump did ask the crowd to protest “peacefully and patriotically,” a call that some rioters who smashed windows and vandalized the Capitol disregarded.

Democrats still hastily drafted articles of impeachment, accusing Trump of “incitement of insurrection,” with a House vote expected this week.

Trump has meanwhile been booted from every major social media platform, with the tech companies responsible citing public safety concerns as their reasoning. Cut off from his usual means of communication with the public, Trump has remained out of the spotlight over the weekend and into this week.

However, shortly after Stelter’s newsletter went out, Trump spoke to reporters at Andrews Air Force Base before departing for Texas. There, he disavowed any responsibility for the Capitol riot, saying that his speech was “totally appropriate.”

Leaving the White House earlier on Tuesday, Trump accused Democrats of stoking “tremendous anger” with their new impeachment drive, and later at Andrews Air Force Base called the tech firms’ decision to ban him “a catastrophic mistake for them” and “very, very bad for our country.” However, he told reporters several times that he wants “no violence” from his supporters.

Some controversy and debate has surrounded the exact number and their identity, but most were wives, children, servants and slaves whom the Alamo’s defenders had brought with them into the mission for safety after Santa Anna’s troops occupied San Antonio.

This past week Amazon Web Services (AWS) shut down Twitter competitor, Parler, because AWS didn’t like Parler’s policy of providing for free speech. Meanwhile AWS is again petitioning to run the Pentagon’s Defense System.

Amazon Web Services is taking another run at getting the court to set aside the Pentagon’s 10-year, $10 billion Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud contract award to Microsoft.

According to an updated lawsuit filed in the Court of Federal Claims, AWS’ revised proposal – a corrective action that took place while the case was on remand — was tens of millions of dollars less than what Microsoft offered. Additionally, AWS claims the Defense Department’s choice reflects the long-standing animus of President Donald Trump toward Jeff Bezos, founder of AWS parent company Amazon.

“[T]hese errors did not occur in a vacuum,” the lawsuit states. “Instead they can be best explained as the latest manifestation of President Trump’s determination to steer the JEDI contract away from AWS.”

The revised complaint is dated Oct. 23 and was released with redactions on Dec. 15. DOD publicly announced the re-award to Microsoft on Sept. 4. The contract was originally awarded to Microsoft in October, 2019. The request for proposals was released in the summer of 2018 and the structure of the single-award enterprise cloud contract was developed the year before that.

China's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday told Canberra it was a mistake to politicize commercial cooperation after Australia's treasurer blocked a takeover bid for one of the largest builders from a Chinese company.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg rejected a takeover bid launched by China State Construction Engineering Corp last year for a major stake in Probuild, the Australian subsidiary of a South African parent company Wilson Bayly Holmes-Ovcon (WBHO).

The deal, which required the approval of the treasurer and Australia's Foreign Investment Review Board, was rejected over concerns it could give foreign intelligence services access to information about the country's critical infrastructure.

The purchase was reportedly worth AU$300 million ($232 million), but the potential buyer had been told the deal "would be rejected by the federal government on the grounds of national security," and the Chinese company had to drop the bid.

China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Tuesday accused Canberra of violating market principles. "Such actions have disrupted the sound momentum in practical cooperation between China and Australia and hurt the image and reputation of Australia itself," he said. "It is a mistake to politicize normal commercial cooperation and seek political interference in the name of national security."

Whatever disappointment President Trump is feeling about being barred from his Twitter and Facebook accounts, he's probably more upset about this: Deutsche Bank, one of the Trump Organizations biggest lenders from the past 20 years, says it will no longer do business with the Trump family, according to the NYT.

Another bank, Signature Bank, where Trump has checking, savings and money-market accounts, said that it would close accounts belonging to Trump worth some $5.3MM.

What's more, Signature Bank, where Ivanka Trump once sat on the board, is officially calling on Trump to resign, saying that while it hopes to soon go back to assiduously avoiding politics, the president had put Signature in an uncomfortable position.

"We believe the appropriate action would be the resignation of the president of the United States, which is in the best interests of our nation and the American people,” the bank said in a separate statement on Monday.

For years, Signature has served Trump and others in his orbit, including Ivanka, Jared Kushner and even Michael Cohen. It even helped finance the construction of Trump's Florida golf course. But the bank added that not only would it stop banking with Trump, it would also bar any lawmakers who backed the election challenge from banking there as well.

The head of Deutsche Bank US also released a statement calling Wednesday's Capitol riot a "dark day" for American democracy.

"Yesterday was a dark day for America and our democracy,” Deutsche Bank Americas head Christiana Riley posted on LinkedIn. "We are proud of our Constitution and stand by those who seek to uphold it to ensure that the will of the people is upheld and a peaceful transition of power takes place.”

As the NYT reported shortly before the election, Trump still owes about $300MM in a series of personally guaranteed loans to DB that come due in 2023 and 2024. That doesn't give him a ton of time to work out new deals, but his son Eric Trump has insisted that some deals involving foreign partners are in the works. Rosemary Vrablic, the DB banker who managed the relationship with the Trumps, left DB shortly after the election

A lot could change in that time. For all we know, DB could change its mind and offer Trump an opportunity to roll over the remaining balance that he can't afford to pay back (the bank has already lent Trump money against its better judgment once).

DB faced pressure from lawmakers throughout Trump's term in office after it was revealed that the bank was the Trump Organization's primary lender since the late 1990s. Now, according to the NYT, the bank has determined that, short of forgiving Trump's massive debt, the bank has few options for extricating itself from its business ties to Trump.

All of this practically ensures that Trump will need to look abroad for financing if he wants to roll over the DB loans. When that happens, we imagine Democrats will be waiting to pounce and accuse him of trading American secrets for financial favors.

The head of London’s police force vows officers will act “much more quickly” against people who fail to comply with the recent Covid-19 restrictions.

“Sadly, a small minority of people continue to flagrantly ignore the rules – for example, by holding house parties, meeting in basements to gamble, or breaking into railway arches for unlicensed raves,” Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick wrote in an op-ed for The Times.

It is preposterous to me that anyone could be unaware of our duty to do all we can to stop the spread of the virus. We have been clear that those who breach Covid-19 legislation are increasingly likely to face fines.

Dick warned that “those who break the rules or refuse to comply where they should without good reason will find officers moving much more quickly to enforcement action.”

She noted that, although the capital’s police force remains “in remarkably good shape,” there is an increasing personnel shortage, as “larger numbers of officers self-isolate due to the use of contact tracing.”

London Mayor Sadiq Khan declared “a major incident” across the city on January 8, after the number of Covid-19 cases exceeded 1,000 per 100,000 people.

“The stark reality is that we will run out of beds for patients in the next couple of weeks unless the spread of the virus slows down drastically,” the mayor said.

A new lockdown was imposed in England and Scotland just days after New Year’s Eve and only a matter of weeks after the authorities launched a nationwide immunization campaign using the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. People can be fined up to £6,400 ($8,670) for breaking Covid-19 restrictions in England.

A few dozen maskless protesters gathered for an anti-lockdown march in London over the weekend. The rally was dispersed by police, and 12 people were arrested.

Yelp debuts new feature allowing users to report businesses’ mask & social distancing violations. Snitch Nation, here we come!

Yelp is giving users another way to scold local businesses from a place of moral superiority, launching a feedback feature to reflect how well a business is enforcing social distancing, face coverings, and other Covid-19 rules.

The user-generated review site debuted the new feature on Tuesday, along with a mockup of how listings will look going forward. Under “Covid-19 updates,” in addition to informing users whether a business offers delivery or sit-down dining, user evaluations based on how well the establishment adheres to social distancing and mask regulations will appear.

It’s not clear whether businesses will have the option of contesting bad marks, a major threat to establishments already hanging by an economic thread due to pandemic-related shutdowns, but the app claims it has safeguards in place to protect businesses from malicious review-spamming, having “implemented advanced technology to mitigate potential misuse of the feature.”

Multiple logged-in users must agree on whether social distancing and mask-wearing are being enforced for such evaluations to appear on a business’ page, and responses are supposedly evaluated on a daily basis, with those older than 28 days excluded. Green checkmarks indicate a majority of visitors observed pandemic rules, while orange question-marks mean customers have complained.

Pandemic-related feedback won’t be limited to restaurants, according to Yelp - bars and clubs, “retail and beauty businesses,” and “businesses in the automotive, professional and local services sectors” will all be outfitted with the new metrics. While the app acknowledged only a few hundred businesses are currently carrying the feature, it is encouraging users to start dropping a dime on their local social distancing violators, offering two ways to give feedback on a business’ page.

Yelp is also offering businesses a chance to get ahead of local busybodies by advertising their rule-obeying credibility right on their page. A bar or restaurant can boast it checks staff for Covid-19 symptoms or uses contactless or disposable menus, as well as advertise the varieties of seating - indoor, outdoor, heated, private - available.

Yelp recently debuted a ‘kill switch’ that paused the addition of new reviews for businesses ensnared in social-justice controversies. However, the label - “Business Accused of Racist Behavior Alert” - implies guilt on the part of the affected restaurant, rather than the “innocent until proven guilty” approach that previously reigned with Yelp’s “Public Attention Alert.” Similarly, while the company claims to have removed over 4,000 reviews that focused negatively on a business’ obedience to Covid-19 rules, the new feature opens the door to a flood of negative feedback regarding those same rules, and there’s no reason to believe keyboard vigilantes are above flooding a restaurant with negative pandemic obedience ratings now that Yelp has given them the green light.

Public confrontations over coronavirus regulations have become commonplace, with impassioned mask-wearers screaming at their barefaced counterparts and vice versa. Some have taken upon themselves the responsibility to enforce Covid-19 rules, turning themselves into meme fodder.

250,000 Small British Businesses Expected to Be Destroyed by Coronavirus Lockdowns This Year

The coronavirus lockdowns implemented by the British government will force at least a quarter of a million small businesses to shut down for good if they are not bailed out by the taxpayer, business leaders have predicted.

Over the next year, at least 250,000 are expected to go under, according to a survey conducted by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

The number of firms saying that they are on the brink of collapse is the highest since the beginning of the economic crisis caused by the Chinese coronavirus and the ensuing draconian restrictions foisted upon the public.

The figures do not represent the number of businesses which are hoping to avoid collapse by freezing their operations, laying off staff, or taking on significant debt in order to stay afloat.

Of those surveyed, 23 per cent of small businesses have reduced the number of employees in the last quarter, alone, representing a ten per cent rise over the beginning of last year.

Some 14 per cent of small businesses reported that they will be forced to slash the number of people they employ over the next three months.

The number of small firms predicting that they will see their profitability decline over the next quarter has also reached an all-time high, with 58 per cent fearing profits will go down.

The national chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses, Mike Cherry, said: “The development of business support measures has not kept pace with intensifying restrictions. As a result, we risk losing hundreds of thousands of great, ultimately viable small businesses this year, at huge cost to local communities and individual livelihoods.

“A record number say they plan to close over the next 12 months, and they were saying that even before news of the latest lockdown came through.”

“There are meaningful lifelines for retail, leisure and hospitality businesses, which are very welcome as far as they go. But this Government needs to realise that the small business community is much bigger than these three sectors,” Cherry added.

The dire warnings from small business come as the latest national lockdown imposed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to plunge millions of workers back into furlough schemes.

Coming almost entirely at taxpayer expense, the furlough programme has already cost the UK Treasury over £46 billion and is expected to only grow higher.

The Institute for Employment Studies (IES) predicted that the closing of schools could result in five to six million people being forced into taking the government handouts to survive, up from three million at the end of the year.

In an interview with Breitbart London in October, a British businesswoman said that she “100 per cent” blamed the government for her business collapsing, saying that the lockdown “killed” her business and made her lose “everything I have”.

“It’s killing the economy, it’s killing people, stopping people being able to visit people in hospitals, in care homes, it’s damaging every aspect of life,” she decried.

Lockdown Forever: Annual Coronavirus Vaccinations ‘Highly Likely’ Warns UK Health Secretary

British Health Secretary Matt Hancock admitted on Sunday that it is “highly likely” that coronavirus vaccines will need to be administered every year alongside normal flu shots.

As the British government looks to introduce more draconian lockdown measures, the Health Secretary predicted vaccinations will need to be administered for the “foreseeable future”, amidst concerns that the inoculations against the Chinese virus may wear off.

“I think it’s highly likely that there will be a dual-vaccination programme for the foreseeable, this is the medium-term, of flu and Covid,” Hancock told Sky News’ Sophy Ridge on Sunday.

“Flu vaccination rates are at their highest level ever. Over 80 per cent of the over-65s have been vaccinated for flu this year. That’s the biggest increase, a jump on last year when it was around 70 per cent,” he said.

“That’s very good news. It’s good news for two reasons. Firstly, to protect people against flu and secondly because it shows the vast, vast majority of over-65s are up for getting vaccinated,” the Health Secretary concluded.

Some leading experts have warned that even if the majority of Brits do take the coronavirus jab, it is unlikely that life will return to normality in the coming year.

The chairman of the UK government’s New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group, Professor Peter Horby said that social distancing measures may need to be kept in effect until the end of the year, adding that he does not believe the vaccine will “return us to normal”.

“There will still be a large number of people being infected, and although the absolute risks of someone under the age of 80 dying or ending up in hospital are low, with a large number of infections that still translates into a lot of people and so we’re going to have to manage the virus, with social distancing measures as well as vaccination for the coming months,” Prof Horby said.

Professor Horby agreed with Mr Hancock’s assessment that coronavirus vaccinations may need to be readministered, at least “every few years”, in order to be effective in fighting off mutations of the virus, which he predicted “will not go away”.

“We’re going to have to live with it but that may change significantly. It may well become more of an endemic virus, that’s with us all the time and may cause some seasonal pressures and some excess deaths, but is not causing the huge disruption that we’re seeing now,” he said.

Last week, Mr Hancock lashed out at the public for not abiding by the lockdown restrictions, claiming that success against fighting the rising cases in the country will be “down to people’s behaviour”.

The Health Secretary went on to call for everyone in Britain to act “as if they have the virus”.

On Monday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that approximately two million people have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

“We’re at about 2.4 million jabs all in across the whole of the UK,” Johnson said.

Mr Johnson went on to warn, however, that it is a “perilous moment” for the UK in its fight against the Chinese virus, claiming that some NHS facilities are even experiencing shortages of oxygen.

“The worst thing now for us is to allow success in rolling out a vaccine programme to breed any kind of complacency about the state of the pandemic,” the Prime Minister warned.

Tony Blair Advising British Govt on Vaccinations, Pushes for ‘COVID Passes’

The former leader of the Labour Party and ex-prime minister, Tony Blair, has reportedly been advising UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock on the country’s vaccination response.

Thirteen years after leaving government, Mr Blair has made a “comeback” of sorts on the back of the Chinese coronavirus crisis.

The Sunday Times reported that the globalist left-wing former Labour leader has been providing ‘strategic advice’ to the nominally Conservative government on the vaccination regime.

Blair has also reportedly given advice to the head of the NHS Test and Trace system, Baroness Harding, as well as Steve Bates, a vaccine task force member who used to serve as an adviser to the Labour Party.

Mr Hancock did not deny that he has been advised by Blair, saying: “I talk to all sorts of people and we take ideas from lots of sources.”

Writing in the Evening Standard on Monday, Mr Blair said that a “vaccination acceleration is paramount” while pushing for the introduction of a “Covid Pass”.

Blair said that the requirement for a Covid Pass should “at least” be required “in order to travel and probably for everything from attending an O2 concert to the FA Cup final”.

“This crisis isn’t ending soon, and the economic and health damage of prolonged lockdown is frightening,” he wrote, claiming that it may take up to two or three years to beat the virus.

Mr Blair first came out in favour of so-called ‘Health Passports‘ in December, as a means to return to normality.

“I know all the objections, but it will happen. It’s the only way the world will function and for lockdowns to no longer be the sole course of action,” he said last month.

Earlier this month, Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage surprisingly called for the government to task Mr Blair with leading the vaccination push, saying: “We are in a national crisis and a government of all the talents, including Blair, makes sense. He seems to have a grip on this far more than the cabinet.”

Since the outset of the coronavirus crisis, Mr Blair has used his globalist bona fides to get involved in the response, repurposing his think tank, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, to focus on the global virus response.

In May, Blair’s think tank pronounced that it had teams “embedded in governments around the world“, calling for “dramatically increased technological surveillance” as they claimed it is “a price worth paying”.

Speaking to The Times about a possible political comeback, a friend of the former Labour leader said: “Tony believes deeply, as do many of the people around him, that he left office at the peak of his powers. He got better at governing as time went on. Ten years later, he is definitely animated by a burning feeling that the British governance is inadequate. He feels that he has the drive and ideas to change that.”

The friend went on to say that after a decade spent accumulating money in the private sector, there is “no shortage of that now and wants to re-establish his reputation”.

The former prime minister denied that he was attempting to make a political comeback, saying: “The only comeback I am interested in is for our country to return to as near normal as quickly as possible so people can live their lives safely and our economy can get back on track.”
